Page Item Drag and Drop reset all items Displayed Field attribute

If I use the Drag and Drop feature it resets all items Displayed/Field attribute to yes. Is this just the way it is and it is to bad so sad for Nicholas or is there something I can do to be able to use drag and drop and still retain my setting for the Item's Displayed/Field attribute.
Any assitance is much appreciated

Probably the easiest way would be to have 2 arrays that hold
the data being sent to box A. Just add/or subtract from one that
you don't care if it changes, and leave the other one alone. When
you want to reset, just clear Array 2 and populate it again from
Array 1. For Box B, just reset the contents of the array to nothing
- myArrayB = new Array({item1:'',item2:''})

I am getting a "Internal error occurred" message when I try to drag and drop common library items on to my canvas.
I have noticed that there are a number of these error messages and tried one solution of renaming a couple of files, I tried this and no joy.
Has any one go a solution for this before I purchase Fireworks please?

I can no longer get Firework CS6 to run - The program loads but without any toolbars/properties etc. It just has an 'AN INTERNAL ERROR OCCURRED' message that cannot be dismissed. The only way to close the program is via Task Manager (this is on a Window 8 PC). I have uninstalled the program, rebooted the PC and re-installed (several times) but it has not resolved the problem.
Fireworks is part of my Creative Cloud subscription and when reporting this via the live chat I was given the telephone number for Seagate Drives ??
Anybody got a solution?
Or, does anybody know how to open native Fireworks CS6 png files in Photoshop *but* with all the Fireworks layers preserved.

I like to see a implementation of a JList supporting drag and drop to reorder items. The solution has to work with any object type in the datamodel.

Drag and Drop Layout with items attached to Page 0 Region Bug

Hi,
I have a region on P0 (P0_REGION) and multiple page items (not on page 0) are associated to the region. When I go to "Drag and Drop" the page items I see all the Page Items for the given page and all the Page Items that are linked to a P0 Region. For Example:
P0:
Region: P0_REGION
P100:
Items: P100_X, Region: P0_REGION
P200:
Items: P200_Y, Region: P0_REGION
Now on P200, click on "Drag and Drop" above P200_Y I'll see P100_X and P200_Y.
This is a bit of an issue if you have a lot of items that are linked to a region on Page 0 but actually belong to another page.
Is this a bug?

Multiple Item Drag and Drop

I'm working on an application where I need multiple item DnD between JTrees and JTables. I'm using Java 1.4.1
I have the basics of multiple item DnD working, by creating Transferable classes that contain a collection of items.
The problem I have is when I drag a multiple selection within a JTree (i.e. DragSource and DropTarget are the same) then my call to event.getCurrentDataFlavors() in my dragOver(DropTargetDragEvent event) method is not returning any data flavours unless I drag over to another JTree. If I now drag back over to the source JTree (so that DragSource and DropTarget are again the same) as if by magic I now get DataFlavours whilst dragging over the source container.
This is driving me nuts! :-)
Has anybody else seen this and do they have a solution?

I have the same problem here.
When I try to perform drag and drop in a JTree (DragSource and DropTarget are the same), calling event.getCurrentDataFlavors() in the dragOver(DropTargetDragEvent event) method in the DropTargetListener returns me nothing!!
However, the call of event.getCurrentDataFlavors() in the
drop(DropTargetDropEvent event) does return me the correct
information.
On the doc, the DropTargetDragEvent.getCurrentDataFlavors()
should mimic DropTargetDropEvent.getCurrentDataFlavors().
So, I suppose both functions should work in the same way
properly.
Is there anything wrong with my understanding or is that a bug
of the Java dnd?

Drag and Drop: Requiring All Answers

Hi All,
I'm new to Captivate (version 7) and I had a D&D question.
Currently this is letting the user advance after one right "drag", but I want them to have to drag all correct answers before moving to the next slide. How can this be done?

So check these:
1) For your images/shapes/whatever, under the "Properties" tab under "Timing", make sure that they're set to display for "Rest of slide" and appear after 0 seconds.
2) Under the "Drag and drop" tab, make sure that the "On success" button is set to "Continue". (You could also set it to "Pause" if you want it to display some type of feedback after they answer. If it's set to pause, you'll need another button or interaction that they press to continue.)
3) If you have other timed items or "Advanced actions" they could also interfere, so check those as well.

Can't Replace Pages (via drag and drop in Pages panel) in Acrobat 9 Pro

I'm running OS X 10.5.8, Acrobat Pro 9.1.3, PPC G5 PowerMac.
I'll have two PDFs open and I'll want to replace certain pages from document A with certain pages from document B. Rather than using the Replace Pages command from the Document menu, I prefer to visually see what I'm changing. For this reason I've always preferred the drag and drop method, where one selects a page thumbnail from one document and drops it onto a page thumbnail in another document. This only seems to be a problem in Acrobat 9. This works fine in Acrobat 7.1.1 and 8.1.6. Drag and drop will allow one to insert pages but the replacement of pages is not working. As described in Acrobat Help, under "Replace pages using a page thumbnail," I try to drop the page thumbnail onto the page number as prescribed but the page to be replaced never highlights like it should. It will only give the insertion highlight between each page, indicating that it is about to insert a page.
Other macs exhibit the same behavior -- it always works in Acrobat 7 and 8 but not 9.

I'm using the Windows version of Acrobat Pro 9 and found this thread with the same problem. (Key command to replace on Windows is: Ctrl + Alt).
Anyway, to answer the how to disable the warning, go to the Acrobat Preferences. In the General category under "Warnings", check the setting "Do not show edit warnings". There should be a similar setting on the Mac version.
(Now I wish replacing pages didn't require a key command like in previous versions.)

Drag and Drop not working/MSN display picture cannot find Iphoto

I had the ilife '06 and I was able to drag a photo from (lets say) facebook and drop it into iphoto. I am unable to do this in the ilife '09 version. In addition, when I try to change my display picture in msn i cannot click on iphoto only photobooth is highlighted, please help!!!

What browser are you using? Safari? If so, right click on the pic and choose 'Add to iPhoto.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.

Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Upgrade to 3.1.1 broke drag and drop form items

after upgrading to 3.1.1 when I click the drag and drop icon in items on a form i can then move the fields around and when I hit next the page shows no fields, if I then click apply and look at the form the fields have not moved..

How to drag and drop item from list to another item in list and change their positions

I have a list field with multiple items. I want to select one item from list and drag and drop to another item in the list
after drop item on another item the position of items should be change. (Example:- if I select 1st item from list and drag and drop this item to 4th item in list after drop that item position of both item should be changed 1st item on 4th position and 4th item on 1st position)
I don't know how to do this.Please help me to find the solution.

I do not believe that kind of option is built into the listboxes, but I was able to have similiar functionalities using property nodes. I have included an example program that I put together.
The big difference is that instead of dragging, you double click on the item you want to transfer. To highlight items as you go down the list, all you need to do is set the value to that list number.

Drag and Drop of Page from Content Finder into Page Component

Hi,
Does anybody has a sample code for Page component which accepts the page when dragging and dropping from the content finder? Basically I am trying to create a web page with page component on it and customized the content finder to display all the pages that I needed on a separate tab, I am trying to drag and drop the pages from the content finder to the page component of the web page that I created, but it is not working for me. If someone has any sample working code please share it.

There's no direct support for this. But you could implement
drag and drop the way you normally would in javascript. Except
here, on mouseUp over a div encapsulating the object or embed tag
(the flash object), you'll need to make a call into actionscript

Drag and drop .webloc to desktop - placement question

Using an iMac with a secondary display...
General:
• What governs the location of an item dragged-and-dropped on to the desktop?
• Is this user-modifiable?
Specific:
While doing research, browsing the Web, I routinely save links by dragging the favicon located to the left of the URL of the currently displayed page to the desktop. This seems to work for all the modern browsers I've tried. I've done this for years with no problem.
Until recently, the resulting .webloc file icon lands on the spot where I finish dragging. Recently, the .webloc icon won't go there; instead it ends up in the apparent default location -- which at the moment is the middle-right of my main display. If there are open windows over that region --and there usually are on my very busy desktop-- I have to go to extra steps to get to the .weblocs. This new behavior occurs in the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
This is about dropping .webloc files on the desktop. Dropping them on an open folder continues to work correctly. Dopping an ordinary item (file or folder) from an open folder to the desktop also works normally.
Suspicion:
I recently moved the external display from the physical right to the left of the main display and adjusted System Preferences-->Displays-->Arrangement accordingly.
Bottom line:
How can I restore the usual behavior, so the favicons become .webloc files exactly where I put them on the desktop?
Note: I know that F11 puts all open windows temporarily aside and I use that. But it ought to be possible to place those webloc files where I want them without any extra step.

Drag and Drop to Change Order in a List

Does anyone know of an example where there is the ability to drag and drop elements in a list and thus change their order? (I.E. drag item one below item two and then item one and two change locations)

Drag and Drop to Forms

Hi OraTechies,
Can anyone give some insight to my problem.
The apps is written with Forms 6.0 and deploy in client server architecture. Soon, to be web enabled.
In production, a user constantly complain about lost data. We found out he was dragging text/data from MS-Word document and dropping to a field in a multi-record forms. When record is saved and re-queried the data is not there.
The drag and drop shows the data is being copied to the field. If the record is cleared without saving, the dragged over text is "hovering" over the field. It looks like Windows just repainted the display and nothing else.
Comments, suggestions or solutions anyone?

I have tried to implement this bean but I'm having problems. I've been using your
LAF package for almost 4 years now without issue. I tried the jar file from the zip
file. I also created a new project and recompiled the java code against the 10.1.2.3
frmall.jar file that matches our app server. I resigned it and it's still not working.
Maybe I'm just missing something simple. When I compile and run the form, I see
the canvas and I can change the text fields, but I don't see how I can drag and
drop items. Hopefully, you can think of something that can fix our problem. I would
love to be able to use drag and drop functionality in an upcoming application.
We're running the following versions:
App Server: 10.1.2.3
DB: 10.2.0.5
JDev: 10.1.3.3.0
Windows XP for the clients
Windows Server 2008 for the servers

Edit: I looked in my java console and saw that my issue was that we signed this jar file with a different certificate. I created a special config as Francois has suggested in another post and included only the DnD.jar file and it worked. However, I can't get the image or multi-line text areas to drag and drop. I'll keep poking around and see if I can figure out what's going on. The console seems to recognize when I'm dragging and dropping from all fields.
