PageCount Reset/Restart
Hi!
I am in trouble with the currentPage/pageCount because i need to restart counting in different sections of the PDF module.
This is the situation:
MyPDF
- Master pages
- Master Page 1
- Master Page 2
- Page1 (fixed page, associated with Master1) pagecount expected: 1/x (according to the numbers of istances of Page2).
- Page2 (dynamic page... users can add mupliple istances of Page2, associated with Master1) pagecount expected: 2/2 or 2/x depending on number of istances.
- Page3 (fixed page, associated with Master2) pagecount expected (RESTART!): 1/x (according to the numbers of istances of Page4).
- Page4 (dynamic page...users can add mupliple istances of Page4, associated with Master2) pagecount expected: 2/2 or 2/x depending on number of istances.
- Page5 (fixed page, associated with Master2) pagecount expected: 1/1...
Page 1 & 2 must be counted togheter as part of same section: Page 1/2 and Page 2/2.
if page 2 have multiple istance (for example the user while compiling decide to add 2 pages), the currentPage/pageCount must increase dynamically than Page 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 & 4/4.
And this in not a problem.
Page 3... (Here is my issue!)
I need to restart/reset currentPage/pageCount indipendently from what was before and than Page 3 will be 1/x according to what follow.
Looking around, someone tell me to put one currentPage/pageCount in Master Page1 and another in Master Page2 but i was unable to make it work...
Any suggest?

Hi,
If you go to Master Page 2 and select the page number object. In the layout:ready event change the script to:
this.rawValue = this.parent.index + 1;
This is JavaScript and will use the instances of the second Master Page as the page number (plus 1, as it is a zero based system).

If you use eabuds or headphones on occasion, try inserting and removing the earbuds/headphones several times in a row.

Use 2nd gen apple tv and remote control app on iphones and ipad. We can control some functions on the apple tv but unable to purchase, access such controls as reset, restart, turn off home sharing, etc. Home sharing stuck on old apple ID. Please help.
That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with). -
About three days ago my ipod said i needed to sync and so i did . when i did it stop working and the wifi is grey out and says no wifi . Ive tried rebooting it , reseting , restarting but nothing seems to work . Can anybody help me ? Please !

I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?) touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

Nano continues to reset/restart
Nano continues to reset/restart. Everytime I go to play a song it restarts with the Apple Logo (like I just turned it on). It restarts at different points at different times. I can't get it to stay playing any song. What should I do?
I had this problem too. Jeff, your post led me to the answer, but it had nothing to do with my OS. For anyone else having this issue, you need to put your ipod in "disk mode" by holding the center button and play/pause before you can restore it using your ipod updater in the utilities folder. I hope this shortens the frustration for somebody. Happy ipodding!

How can i reset/ restart ipadair when it is frozen?
I recived an ipadair for christmas and loved it. until i tryed to zoom out of an app and the screen froze! i tried to turn it off and back on but the power button only brought me to the lock screen were it is now frozen.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

I recently updated my Firefox to 3.5.9 for Google pack, after doing so Firefox would only open in safe mode. So I started in safe mode that one time. Everafter, when starting firefox it always opens a dialog window about safe mode, I click the option to reset the toolbars and restart, and it starts normally. I'd like to make it stop opening with this dialog, and just open normally without asking about safe mode.

The keyboard backlight on macair will not go on even though I have reset, restarted, etc.

This afternoon, my home/menu button didn't work to bring me to my home screen. Normally I can lock the phone using the power button, then unlock and the menu button will take me out of the app I was in and return me to the home screen. This time when I hit the power button, the screen went black as usual, but when I hit it a second time to unlock my screen, the power button didn't work either. I plugged the phone in knowing that usually brings the screen to life for me to unlock it. No such luck. Plugging it in didnt get a response either.
The lack of response from the home button, power button, and plugging in combined led me to the restart and reset troubleshooting instructions. If I hold the power button, I get a white screen with a black apple that appears for a few seconds and goes away. Same with the reset. I never get an unlock screen to ignore and it never appears to power down. Any ideas or am I stuck visiting apple or verizon once I'm not snowed in? Phone was purchased from verizon in April 2013.LaurenV,
Just as an add-on to what technicalsupport recommended, if the computer does not recognize that your phone is plugged in you may need to press and hold the Home button, then connect your phone to the computer. Once iTunes opens on the computer you should get a message saying, "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recoverey mode" and can click OK. From that point, you will be able to click Restore and proceed with the process.

What is the difference (to the touch) between a restart (where you hold down the sleep button util the red slider appears ...) and a reset (where you hold both the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears)?
I have never seen a reset erase anything you can see/change.
It may remove caches, etc., but all my settings remain intact after a reset.
I would explain it like this.
When you hold the sleep button down and slide to shut down, it's like powering-down your Mac/PC.
When you reset it, it's more like when your computer freezes and you hold the power button down to shut off and reboot.
I believe the reset is more of a total rebooting than anything.
It might also clear out things resident in RAM.

Everytime i press return Firefox freezes, have reset, restarted and nothing works?

Since I bought this device I enjoyed it, everywhere I suggested it to my friends and co-workers. Until I upgraded its iOS from 7.1.2 to 8.0.2. The battery usage is as quickly as a Ferrari, no applications of previously purchased can be re-downloaded (I had to restore it and I lost all of them during upgrading). Honestly they really disappointed me. I have done any offer I read and saw on webpages, it's my same ID and nothing has changed. I reset all settings, network settings, used another Wi-Fi, used 3G, synced with my itunes on my laptop, and solutions you can think about during these couple of weeks. I expect apple to do something for the loyal customers which prefer their great company to another ones. Thanks so Much.
I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again. -
I have been using the xfinity ap for some time with no problem. Now every time I open the ap it shuts down. I have updated software, reset, done a sync, rebooted to no avail any ideas
My Xfinity App does the same thing. Hope they are coming out with a app update.
