PageFlow Context lost when Popup window opens

I have a page flow that has a particular object with values set when the page first
loads. I am calling a control using javascript onClick on a netui:anchor from
one of the jsp's in the page flow. When the control calls my method in the page
flow the same object is always null. Moreover since netui:anchor always needs
atleast one of an action/href etc I tried to use a simple <a href tag with onClick="mymethod()"
where mymethod loads a popup window.
Whenever the popup window tries to load the main page(parent page which has the
link) is always reposted. I don't understand why a onClick popup reposts the
parent window.
All I want to do is to call a control which loads an object using javascript onClick
from a link on the parent window which opens a popup window with the contents
of the object in the control.

When popup windows open in Encore I am unable to select within that window

Encore 5.5, for instance. . . .I got to file, dynamic link, import sequence and a pop up window comes up. I am unable to select anything within that popup window to tell encore where to find the files I need. This is the case with ANY popup window when working within encore.
HELP!!

Try another mouse? In another USB port if USB?
I can confirm that in the new project window, for example, you cannot tab or arrow between fields. If your mouse can't select, you're stuck. Same for dynamic link.
Did you use the cleaner tool when uninstalling?
I am not sure if reinstalling Encore necessarily recreates the preferences file. I would try this in any event. "Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys while choosing Start > Programs > Adobe Encore <version number>. Release the keys after several seconds. The application will not start at this point, but the preferences file will be deleted." The more complete instructions are here at #12:

None of that will matter, of course, if it is a mouse/mouse driver issue.

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

When I have more than one tab open, if I click on a picture to view, when the window opens to view the photo, firefox crashes. I also notice while looking at a web page, the pinned tabs to the left of the bar are constantly reloading for some reason.

When a allowed popup window opens, it is maximized. Before it was the size it was supposed to be but after updating Firefox, everything is maximized.

Popup windows are all maximized. This was not the case before updating Firefox.

Why does Firefox (3.6.12) try to access the Net as it starts, but before the Ffx window first shows & once more when the window opens, if I've set updates to manual and "about:blank" as my home page?

I click to load Firefox (3.6.12). The Comodo firewall warns me that Firefox is trying to connect to the Net. I block it, because I've not asked Firefox to do that, at that point. Then, when the Firefox window opens, the firewall warns me, again, that Firefox is trying to access the internet. I block it then, too. Use of Firefox is completely uncompromised by me doing this - that much is clear.
Surely, if I have turned off automatic updates and use "about:blank" as my browser startup page, Firefox has no need, and no place, attempting to connect to the internet until I ask it to, by clicking a bookmark in the Bookmarks toolbar, or until I type a URL into the address bar.
What is Firefox trying to do? and how can I stop it from trying to do it?

Popup window opens in the second page - plz help gurus.

Hi All,
I'm calling a transaction through ITS. There is a hyperlink in a report brings up PDF in the popup window. Popup window comes up in the second page of the report after closing in the first page of the report. Popup comes in all the consecutive pages of the report once I click on the hyperlink. This is really frustrating. Pls let me know if i need to do any configuration to avoid this problem.

are you using the SAP GUI for HTML (webgui)? Normally, no hyperlinks are used except on documents inside an HTMLviewer (like in TX TRIP), or when Drag & Relate is activated.
I suppose the link is part of a document that is shown in an HTMLviewer. Though this document does not belong to the ITS or the SAP GUI for HTML it uses ITS's URLs to address a new page or document. But, with this URL the status of the ITS or the application does not change, thus showing the popup over and over.
If you have a tool to trace the HTTP protocol you can check for the URLs that are send on a particular action. I

Access Keys not blocked when popup is open

Hi,
We are using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and we have the requirement to add access keys on specific buttons in our application.
When a popup is open the background page is disabled and the user cannot click on buttons outside the popup.
If however a button in the background has an access key and the user uses it, the action gets executed.
Is this a bug? does anyone know of a workaround in order to block the access keys in the background when a popup is open?

We got an answer from Oracle support... not the one we were hoping for though:
"the Development team confirming that _the issue is not a defect_. We have an Enhancement Request 10170506 logged for the issue to be _considered_ by Development in the future releases......."
The access keys functionality is a high priority for our clients and this is going to be a serious issue for us.

Lost session after window.open

I'm running two web applications in different WebLogic server instances
(port no 7001 & 7003).
When A.jsp (in 7001) executes a script window.open('B.jsp') (in 7003), the
session associated 7001
loses its data. Has anyone meet this problem ??? I use WLS 8.1 sp2.

You would be better of looking at an explorer news group for this answer.
This is because session information is stored in a cookie that is handed to weblogic by the browser, weblogic does not give a shit who's talking to it as long as a valid session is returned.
So it sounds like the browser is not doing its job of associating the new window with the same session but thinks it is a brand new window (just like "file new"), there is probably another javascipt command you should be using, other than this one.

Some webpages resize the window but when the window opens in a new tab, the entire firefox browser is resized. How do I stop this from happening?

This usually happens when the window is resized in order to fit the smaller content/intention for a webpage.
I would like Firefox to ignore the window resizing (down sizing) commands when opening a window in a new tab and just display the window in full size.

Go into ''Tools > Options > Content'' and next to where it says ''Enable JavaScript'', click ''Advanced...''' and then untick ''Move or resize existing windows''.
This is the only way to do it. I believe there is a bug filed to prevent all sites (by default) from resizing the window if there are more tabs open, but I don't think it has been fixed.

Firefox 5.0.1 on OsX Lion: big problems on popup (window.open)

I just updated OSX to the recent Lion. Firefox 5.0.1 have a big problem with EVERY POPUP invoked by
onclick="window.open(this.href,'win2','width=400,height=350,menubar=yes,resizable=yes'); return false;" in the a tag, with href correctly specified.
Ignores the widths and the heights (goes almost full screen, without bars) and the problem is that it doesn't load any page.... it remains blank!
It occurs on every joomla site having print and email icon on articles, or any other site that uses this kind of opening a popup.
UPDATE: discovered the problem. Firebug, latest beta build.

Not only on youtube, but everywhere: other video sites, browser games, etc.

Glitch causing AA to lock up when new windows open

We're running Audition 2.0; in one of our production studios, whenever Audition is recording and another window opens up, it stops recording and locks up. The only way to shut it down is to go into Windows Task manager. It does it with Word, IE, Media Player, Real Player...pretty much everything. Right now we can't record in any media off a player or our FTP site, and we can't read our commercial scripts on-screen. Any help would be welcome!

Try going to the Audio Hardware setup page, and taking the check out of the box that says 'release ASIO driver in background' and see if that helps...

How do I play a sound when a popup window opens.

I don't want to block the popup. It's just a notice of a timeout for a site I frequent. I want to enable a sound to play when the popup appears so I know the site is about to time out. I'm using Firefox 35.0.1 on a MacBook. Thanks in advance for any help!

You may need an add on or third party software for this.
