Passing context value to Popup Window

Hi,
I am having a list of Sales Order numbers in a table. And if any one of the SO is clicked then a popup have to show its item details with in a table.
I am having the values of item list in the main view context and how to pass this data to the popup window. Also how to create the table in a window.

How to pass field value from popup window to oninput processing of other pg

Hi,
I want to pass a field value from the popup window to oninput processing of main page ( from where popup window is triggered). and need to close the popup window. How to do it ?
In the popup window's oninputprocessing, im doing some validation checks. If it passes all the validations, then only the control shd come to main page ..else it should stay in popup window only .

Hi Jothi,
you can use java script to pass the value and close your popup window. use the following code.
in your popup window:
function passData(h1)
         window.opener.document.getElementById('var1').value = h1 ;
         window.close();
then call this function when you finish your validations.
in your main page layout create an input field with id as passed in the function above "var1".
In the value attribute give it your variable as follow:
<htmlb:inputField id      = "var1"
                          value   = "<%= var2 %>"
                          visible = "false" />
"var2" will be assigned the value from your popup window.

Passing checkbox values to popup window on page submit

I'm using APEX 3.2.
On one page I have a SQL report with checkboxes that are dynamically created using SQL: select apex_item.checkbox(1, bm_id) as "check", ...
I now want to add a button to the page and when a user clicks on the button, the page should submit and a popup window should open with some extra fields to fill in. Now, in the popup window, I want to add a PL/SQL process and loop to all the values of the checked checkboxes in the parent page using the APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01() array. Can I do this? I tried it but the array always seems to be empty. Do I have to pass all checked values to the Javascript function which opens the popup window??

The APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01() will have values only after the form has been submitted.
So,your best bet is to use javascript to make the selected checkbox values available in the pop-up window.

Hi Kranthi,
Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.

Problem in Passing the value from child window to Parent window.

I have a requirement like this. i have to pass a value from child window to parent window to one test field. That text field is not a normal text field.
It was created like the following as SQL query.

How do you redirect your control from Child to Parent window.
If you use a button to do this, then you can set this value in the branching of page.

How to pass value to popup window

Hi all,
I think it is simple but i am not having clear idea about this.
In my case, i have a table in which one column contains a command link. on pressing this link i will get details for any particular row.
now when i am not using popup and showing the details in the same page, i am getting output.
but when i am invoking popup, then on clicking that link popup window opens and displays blank screen.
I tried setting partial triggers on the popup to table and setting content delivery to immediate but still not getting output.= in popup window.
Please suggest any solution.

Passing Values To Popup window

I have a page with a button. When the button is clicked, it used to branch to another page. Values from the 1st page populated nicely on the new page. I then decided to try doing the new page as a popup window. For some reason, the Item values are not carrying over to the popup page. How can I remedy this?

Passing page attribute to popup window

Hello friends -
I want to pass the internal table which is page parameter of page 1 to page2.
I am opening page2 from page1 as a popup by using window.open command.
Is that auto passing of attribute works in this case?
Basically i want to know how to pass values from parent to popup window?

PageFlow Context lost when Popup window opens

I have a page flow that has a particular object with values set when the page first
loads. I am calling a control using javascript onClick on a netui:anchor from
one of the jsp's in the page flow. When the control calls my method in the page
flow the same object is always null. Moreover since netui:anchor always needs
atleast one of an action/href etc I tried to use a simple <a href tag with onClick="mymethod()"
where mymethod loads a popup window.
Whenever the popup window tries to load the main page(parent page which has the
link) is always reposted. I don't understand why a onClick popup reposts the
parent window.
All I want to do is to call a control which loads an object using javascript onClick
from a link on the parent window which opens a popup window with the contents
of the object in the control.

Could I pass the inputvalue to popup window?

I put the field( a VO attribute) in a table with a image behind it.I set the image's Destination URL as "javascript:void(window.open('OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/po/webui/popupPG&ID={@ManagerId}&retainAM=Y'));".
When I click the image ,the ManagerId I got in popup window was not the value I input,but the value before I edit.
can anybody help on this?

Upon clicking the image, you're getting the previous value because the form is not submitted therefore you cannot get your new input since it is not populated in your VO.

Dynamic popup does return value from popup window

have to create a page , with dynamic Popup using query. I am using APEX_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_QUERY(). Dynamic popup is generated, i can able to open the popup, when i click the link of the generated records. It does not return the value.
I feel that , it's like your error.

1. How can I open new window to a particluar URL on a button click event? I know in line, we have target attribute.
2. How can I pass the child window values to the parent
3. How can I refresh the parent window or parent page to to show the changed values in the child window and ofcourse close the child.

Pass textbox-value to popup LOV

Hi,
I have a textbox with a popup-LOV.
Now I was wondering if it is possible to pass the text, which is written in the textbox (the returning-value textbox - not the textbox at the top of the LOV), to the popup-LOV and filter this LOV by using this text?
I know that it is possible to search by using the textbox at the top of the LOV, but it would be more userfriendly if both ways are possible.

Hi,
I tired Benz' way and it works - sometimes. I think there is a problem with the refresh of the Textbox.
I typed in a value and klicked on the popup-button. Than the whole list occurs. After trying several times (I think in between the textbox kept the value) it worked - so the popup-list was already filtered.
Now if I want to search for another value, it still keeps the value from before.
Is this a 'normal' cache-"problem"?

I need to pass evetID to the popup window. How I can do that. I need to pass (# CollegeEvents .eventID#)

Make it a url variable.
In the window.open command, append the name-value pair in the usual manner. Refer to the address bar of your browser for an example.
In the pop-up, refer to the variable in the url scope.
