PageParameterName and multiple portlets on page

Hello,
I'm using the pageParameterName (next_page_p1) multipage stuff
and it is working fine for 1 portlet. I then add another
portlet (different from first) that also uses multipage jsp's
(but different pageParameterName than the 1st: next_page_p2).
Both portlets display a link to their cooresponding 2nd JSP.
When I click on portlet #1's link, the entire portal page
redraws and portlet #1 shows the 2nd JSP, portlet #2 still has
1st JSP. When I then click on portlet #2's next page link, the
portal page redraws and portlet #2's 2nd JSP shows up, BUT
portlet #1 reverts back to the initial JSP.
It appears the problem is that this call:

PortletRendererUtil.PAGE_LINK,
HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(pr, "next_page_p1")
+"=/portlets/2nd.jsp" ....
is NOT including the extra parameters that other portlets need.
So when the user clicks on the URL link, the other porlets "lose
state". The PAGE_LINK only includes base information, not what
other portlets add to URL by using the parameterizeLink call.
If this makes no sense, I can send JSP's. But if you use the
multipage sample twice on a portal page, you'll see what I mean
(Change the pageParameter name in provider.xml file).
Any Ideas???

as of my knowledge, this is not possible anyway.
why do you have two different portal projects?
the only choice I see is that you consume them via WSRP.
Login to PAT -> choose portal 1 -> go to portal management -> portal library -> remote producers -> configure the portal 2 producer by giving the URL to the WSDL of portal 2 -> then you need to tell portal 1 (consumer) which portlets of portal 2 you want to have in the portlet library of portal 1.
WSDL URL format:
http://<producerhost>:<port>/<producerportalWebContext>/producer?wsdl

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.
You can delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/mimeTypes.rdf mimeTypes.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to reset all actions or set that action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'.

Is there a way to create multiple New Tabs pages and name them?

This feature is great but I would like to be able to create multiple new tabs pages and label them. This would be more useful than tabs groups that all load at once.

No that is (currently) not possible.
It will be possible in future Firefox version to specify the number of rows and columns.

I used to be able to select multipule cells in a row (such as company name, address, etc.) then paste and match style on to a pages letter. I found the paste and match style option in the edit menu, however it will only work one cell at a time. Before the update is was working great.

For diagnosing purpose thy the procedure in a new user account and see if it works there. You create a new user account in the System Preferences > Accounts. If it works in the new account it is probably a corrupt plist file that needs to be deleted.

Single customisation page for multiple portlets - possible ?

Is it possible to create a single page to customise multiple portlets ?
Example : select star sign for Horoscope, city for weather, etc on the same page.
The preference store APIs allow us to set values, but always assuming that we are in a portlets 'edit' mode - we cannot provide the portlet instance ID ourselves.
Any ideas ?

You could save your customization information into a custom DB table, rather than using the preference store (which can only be accessed by a particular portlet instance).

Color and Styles in Dynamic Page Portlets

How do you control the colors and fonts of Dynamic Page Portlets.
I am currently using simply syntax and let the Portlet do the rest.

Did you try to use something like:

before the oracle tags and inside the file include the colors and all that things?

HP L7780 Printing - Two-sided and Multiple pages

The HP L7780 printer is capable of printing two-sided pages and multiple pages per page (e.g. two-up on a single sheet). This works just fine with my WIndows XP systems, but not with my BRAND NEW Pro! I've installed the latest drivers from HP ... any help here?

IPhoto 7.1.3 and printing multiple photos per page

I cannot get multiple prints to layout (or print) properly. IOW, I cannot get the product to render multiple photos to a single sheet layout.
- selected multiple photos (say 5)
- Hit Print icon (or select Print from File menu)
- Paper Size: choose 8.5x11
- Print Size: choose 3x5
- Hit 'Customize' button
- It is showing 1 photo per page (5 pages)
- Select 'Settings'
- Select 'Multiple photos per page'
- Hit 'OK'
- No change - still a single photo per page
- Print preview shows same - 5 pages each with only a single print.
- Same occurs if I originally select 2,3,4.... prints.
Perhaps noteworthy: I am using a printer (only available printer) that is attached to another iMac on my wireless network.
Any help appreciated. About 30 minutes searching this discussion board hasn't been fruitful.

When I do these steps my preview shows 4 photo on the page (the maximum number of 3 x 5 you can fit on an 9.5 x 11 sheet) without going to the customize menu - and it works on three different printers
Try deleting your iPhoto preferences (finder ==> "your username" ==>preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist), launch iPhoto, reset any preferences you have set and see if it will work
It should be very easy and straight forward with only the first four steps being needed for this

If you have sent a test print via ePrint, and experience this issue, i would call the Cloud Services department.
If ePrint works fine, it is definitely a Google Cloud Print issue.
Also, when you print from your android device, are you using Google Cloud print or the HP ePrint app?

Printing Borderless and Multiple Pages per Sheet (PDF)

Anyway to do this? I have a thousand page pdf doc that I need to print out but want to maximize viewing area. Obviously individually cropping pages is out of the question.

You may be right about Adobe Reader. However in Adobe Acrobat X Pro you can simply choose Print>[select booklet button] and choose your options there. You will see a preview. Because of the ratio between 8.5x11 and 2-up 8.5x11 you will have a "letterbox" white border on the top and bottom of your pages but you will be able to print with no gutter and no margin on the edges. Your printer must allow for borderless printing and you must have enough ink. You will have to have a high-end printer that can print borderless if it is a laser printer but most ink-jet/photo printers can print borderless. However the downside is that you will have to replace your inks quite frequently and you will have to print duplex probably manually. You will want a paper weight sufficiently heavy enough to accomodate printing on both sides because otherwise the opposite page will bleed through making it difficult to read.

will be separate.

Displaying multiple dynamic html pages within a single Portal folder.

Question: How can I display multiple dynamic html pages that are linked to each other, within a single portal folder?
History:
I have a designer/web server application (PL/SQL packakges) on Oracle
8.1.7. Early in the development process we built it into WebDB2.2 and
used folders on the left side as a navigation bar and the contents of my packages on the right side. This was easy, WebDB used Frames.
Unfortunatley I could never automatically display a PL/SQL item in the folder area.
Now I need to integrate the application into Portal 3.0 not the early adopters version, the one with 9iAS (NT for now, Unix later). I have a page/content area divided into regions and a navigation portlet on the left side containing links to PL/SQL folders whose contents are displayed on the right side. On the right side I have (for example) a Queryview. When I click on any of the buttons (i.e. Find, New), I land in a new page outside of my portal folder. This page contains a dynamically built list (from one or more DB Tables) and of course the first column contains a list of links that bring you to the individual item. How do I set my links or configure my folder to display
within the portal folder area?

One alternate is, increase the size of your screen, for this go to the layout of your screen and increase it as much you want, and also the custom container size, so that no scroll bar will appear at least.
Other solution would be, as you said ALVs will be dynamical, it will be good to create buttons, or links on the screen based on the no of ALVs dynamically and on click of corresponding button call the corresponding ALV.
But i dont think this will serve, first check the first option.

Hi,
I need deploy multiple portlet instances of the same portlet with different
parameters.
What I means is I have 4 different pieces of conent which look same and can
be served by same portlet. So I need to define different instances of the
portlet with a parameter to pick different content.
How can I do this using Weblogic Portal Server4.0

We explored this option, but will we need to know the Portalet id to get
the properties, to get a portlet id we need to use a unpublished api. Is
there a forward compatible way of doing this???

You can use product catalog store provided by WLP to store portlet "custom
properties". For example, you can create a custom property set for your
catalog where you can define any properties, which you portlets will useat
runtime. Each portlet will be represented as a unique product item in the
repository. You will need to use EBCC to define custom property set foryou
catalog and portal administration app to populate these properties foreach
portlet "product item". You can also create a separate category "portlets"
in the catalog structure and put your "portlet" product items in there.
Once all this is defined, you can use the product catalog jsp tags to get
access to these properties in the jsp page.

Sharing a single session among multiple portlets for single application (e.g. wInsight)

Does anyone know the best practices way for sharing a single Session for an application (running on a single Porlet server) among multiple portlets on a page?
For example, the application wInsight uses 3 frames (navigation, search results - tabular, search results - chart) which need to communicate via the application's session scope. It is not just that we do not want for a single user to be running multiple sessions, but they really do share variable parameters this way.
So far I can only think of trying to build a one true portlet and two empty containers on page load. I would use the portlet to establish the session with the Portlet server and then transfer the session information to the other two empty containers to instantiate their respective portlets. I haven't tried this yet, but will do so soon...
Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You can easiliy create several portlets out of a Struts application. For detailed instructions, refer to the Struts section of the Portal Developer's Guide.

After I rt click and hit "save image/page as" the dialog box doesn't open.

When I try to copy an image or a web page I get no dialog box that opens after I right click and select "save image/page as". The option to send link works.
