Pages 5.0: How to set up document endnotes?

This is something that could previously be found in Inspector under document setup or whatever, but obviously with inspector being phased out, it's moved. I hope it hasn't been replaced, as document endnotes were something I depend on a lot for Chicago style citations. Any idea of where it can be?

I would assume that has something to do with compatibility issues between Pages '09 and Pages 5.0. Toying around with the toolbar on the right hand side while the cursor is on a footnote might help.
For anyone else who may have had my particular issue, I have actually managed to figure out how to achieve document endnotes. First, you click Insert > Footnote, and once the footnote appears, look on the right hand side toolbar and you'll see the second button on the right says "footnotes." Click on that, and the first option lets you choose between regular footnotes or document endnotes.

Hi,
Normally, the system define the posting date based the date when document entered into Financial Accounting or cost accounting. Based on posting date,system will define the posting period and fiscal year.
Posting date can be different from Entry date ( the date date entered into SAP system), where no influence from user, and it can also different from Document date. Document date is the of original document was created.
Hope this will give you clearer overview of dates which are used in system.

Merge jpgs into a single pdf, but page dimensions? how to set...?

I have merged a number of jpgs into a single pdf but for some reason it ends up being a strange page dimension - 23.6 in x 30.6 in. The jpgs were saved at a resolution so that they might print an 8.5 x 11 at 200 dpi. Is there a place you can set these dimensions? I know it is quite easy to still make it print on a letter sized sheet but the ppl who I am sending the dosument to might be thrown off by the dimensions.

I had a difficult time finding the answer on the web. Finally found a forum with my answer to share with others facing the same issue. Last entry worked for me.

How to set the document language based on the contents of a text variable?

In my Indesign documents, I use a text variable in which I type the abbreviation of the document language according ISO639-1 (e.g. EN, DE, ES, ...). I'd like to have a JavaScript that checks this text variable every time the document is opened and then sets the Language property of my Normal paragraph style, but I don't have any experience with JavaScript.
Can someone help me please?

I believe ES4 sp1 allows you to do this, but I don't have that version so aren't sure. How to set my Document folder to be shared on MM?

So I got this terrible way to share my folders on MobileMe, it is to create a whole new folder on iDisk and then create an alias on my home folder to it, its irritating and not practical since all new and updated documents and files has to be dropped manually to the folder.
I want my original Document folder (that is on the home folder) to be shared and auto sync itself to the MobileMe iDisk without any interference with me.
How to make this possible?

It sounds like you're interested in the "Back to My Mac" feature of MobileMe.

To be able to access your real documents folder (not just a sync'd copy of it -- your iDisk wont be used at all) via MobileMe, you need to enable two things on your Mac:
1) In "System Preferences" -> "MobileMe" -> "Back to My Mac", make sure BTMM is "On" (click the "Start" button if it doesn't indicate that it is already running.)
2) In "System Preferences" -> "Sharing" make sure "File Sharing" is enabled. (you can just click the "Open Sharing..." button from the Back to My Mac panel as a shortcut to get there.
You also need to have a router which properly supports NAT-PMP or UPnP. I cannot emphasize the word "properly" enough. There are a lot of junk routers in the world that claim to support UPnP but do not. I've helped many people with this problem and when I debug the router by running utilities designed to test whether UPnP really works, the router fails the test. The vendor partially implemented UPnP has "just enough" for some limited functionality, but it's not enough for the needs of Back to My Mac. If you have this problem, it's not the Mac, it's the router.
On your remote Mac you need to log into MobileMe with the same account you used on your home Mac and also make sure Back to My Mac is enabled. File Sharing only needs to be enabled on the Mac which has the filesystems you want to share out to other computers. You don't, for example, need to enable it on your remote Mac.
LASTLY... if the home computer is allowed to go to sleep, then this might be a problem. If your computer is configured to sleep, go into "System Preferences" -> "Energy Saver" and verify that "Wake for network access" is enabled.
Apple's own Airport Extreme base station routers and Time Capsules are "Back to My Mac" aware. If you are attempting to access a Mac which is sleeping, the router itself will send the special "wake up" packet to your Mac (it's a special packet... not just any network traffic will cause it to wake.)
Most Macs made in the last several years will respond to a "Wake for network access" across wired ethernet. But only Macs made much more recently (within about the last year) support "wake for network access" across a wireless network.
If you do not have an a rather recent version of the Apple Airport Extreme router or Time Capsule then wake on LAN will probably not work and you'll need to make sure your Mac isn't allowed to sleep.
If you do have a recent model Airport base station and you use a physical network cable to connect the Mac to the router then it probably will respond to wake on LAN.
If you are using wireless networking to communicate between your home Mac and an Airport base station then you can verify if wireless will work. Run "System Profiler" (it's in the Utilities folder). In the left column click to highlight "Airport" (it's about halfway down just below "Network") In the panel on the right, near the bottom, check to see if you see "Wake on Wireless: Supported". If so, you're good to work on wireless.
Once everything is setup, your remote Mac will display your home computer in the left margin of the Finder window just as if you were home.

Hey,
The document date is, by definition, the date on a physical document, such as an invoice, that you also create on the system, whose posting may be taking place at a later date. Since cost settlement postings are not based on any physical documents, there should be no reason to define the document date yourself. You will notice that the posting date will be the last day of the period for which you are carrying out the cost settlement, that is unless you do as Samir said above, which should take care of any inconveniences.

You can set the Attribute category view attribute to the Flexfield context value and call prepareforRendering in the flex bean. Check the dev guide for details.

Setting Additional Document Directory in Sunone 6.1 SP1

Tried to run a testfile (index.htm) from an additional document directory in 6.1 SP1 on W2K (local), but it doesn't show up. What am I missing, doing wrong or forget?
Additional Document DIrectory setting:
Prefix: /test
Directory: c:/websites/test
in vsclass2.obj.conf (made a 2nd virtual class which is working for several sites) is written:
NameTrans fn="pfx2dir" from="/test" dir="c:/websites/test"
But I get this by using : http://hostname/test

Has it something to do with an ACL setting? If so, how do I control or config this?

In WLS 6.1, document roots are Web Application specific. Unless you explicitly
change it, the default Web Application (the one that you get when you type in
the http://localhost:7001 URL), the document root is a folder under your domain's
application directory named "DefaultWebApp_{name-of-your-server}". Where {name-of-your-server}
is whatever value you assigned to the -Dweblogic.Name property, on the command
line you started WLS with. Refer to the WLS 6.1 documentation for instructions
on how to change this to a different Web Application. Here are a couple of links

How to set file bindings?

There must be an obvious way to do this, but I can't find it.
How do you set a *file type* to open with a specific application?
I can see how to set *individual documents* to open with a specific app, but not file types.
For example, "soundeffect.aif" opens with iTunes by default. By right-clicking and selecting Open With > Other, I can make ONLY "soundeffect.aif" open with another app (like Quicktime Player) by default. How can I globally set ALL aiff files to open with another app by default?

Select the file, CMD+I, set the open with to your choice and then click on the Change All button. Do note that means all aif files will open with that choice.

Setting up document parking related workflow?

Hi all,
Has anyone had any experience or knows how to set basic document parking/posting workflow?
What I need to have is that a document is entered into the system by one user, parked and then the other person checks it is ok and posts it. If it is not ok then the message or something should be sent to the person who entered the document to correct it. If it is ok then it would be posted.

If you select a word file in the Finder and do File>Get Info you will see a section in there where you can specify which application should be used to open files of that type.

How do I set the document language in Pages '13?

In Pages '09 it was possible to set a document's language by going to the More tab in the Text menu of the Inspector and selecting the language from the pull-down menu.
In Pages '13 this has disappeared from the text format More sidebar, and I cannot find any way to set the language at all. It is possible to alter the spell-checking language in the Spelling and Grammar menu (under Edit in the menu bar), but this also indicates that the document language is set somewhere centrally. See this screenshot, where I have a document that was obviously set to Br. English and I want it in Am. English:
I have to work in multiple languages and various flavors (it's the same in German). My system language is set to English and my keyboard to Am. English.
Any idea of what to do?

That is all you can do at present with Pages 5. Like Peter said, if you want something more, you need to go back to Pages 4.

You must add your own background object, and then make it Black.
Insert > Shape > Rectangle
In the Wrap Inspector, set to Floating.
In the Graphic Inspector, set Stroke to None and set Fill to Black.
Grab the corners of the document and stretch the document to cover the entire page.
Back in the Wrap Inspector select "In Background".
Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.
