PANTONE para exportar a Illustrator

Tengo un diseño de logo en Photoshop (necesario para dar volumen y sombras especiales que no puedo hacer en Illustrator o Corel Draw)
Pero no logro que al importarlo a Illustrator, para el arte fnal, mantenga el Pantone 661 C que le asigné.
He intentado guardar en formatos EPS CS2, Tiff, PDF, etc. Nada me funciona. Alguien quiere evitar un loco mas en el manicomio? Es urgente!

Desafortunadamente Illustrator no ha llegado todavía al grado de avance en la administración de colores que tiene Photoshop.
Eso por un lado, por otro tengo entendido (sin saber por qué) los valores de Pantone han cambiado según el libro de colores.
De cualquier manera, he leído en el foro de Photoshop en inglés varios mensajes como el tuyo, y ninguno ha tenido una respuesta satisfactoria, a pesar de que han intervenido en esa discusión varios ingenieros de Adobe.
Como yo no uso el Illustrator para nada que sea de color, ignoro si esas conversaciones se han resuelto en los foros de Illustrator. Si lees el inglés, te sugiero darte una vuelat por allá.

I actually just came across the same thing in the meantime.
And it worked!
If you bought the physical Pantone books, there is a registration/serial number on the back. You can go to Pantone and register it (https://www.pantone.com/pages/MYP_myPantone/mypProductRegistration.aspx)
Then you're able to download the Pantone manager.
There are infact 336 new colors added to the Pantone Plus series. And this is where you need to get them. Once you have them, in Pantone color manager, you go to: File/Export/Adobe Illustrator/sRB. Then restart Illustrator.
Once you go back in, the new 336 colors are available!

How do I add Pantone Color Books to Illustrator CC?

I'm used to using the Pantone Process color book in illustrator, but it's missing from my Illustrator CC. How can I add it? I had it at work, so I assume it is a standard color book, because my work never paid for anything extra. I see I have a Pantone+ CMYK Coated color book, but the names of the swatches are different from Pantone Solid to Process color book I'm used to.

Missing swatches from my Pantone+ swatch library in Illustrator (CS6) on a Mac.

Has anyone else ever been missing swatches in Illustrator for PMS colors? My client has specifically requested PMS 2230C. It is not available in my swatch library of Pantone+ solid coated swatches. I also looked for the color above it, #2229 from the same page of the printed swatch book. It too is missing. Anyone know of a fix or where specifically I can download a new swatch library file?

El sistema Pantone es creado para normalizar el color en 1963. Cuando no se logra obtener algún color por medio de las tintas CMYK, se utiliza este sistema de catálogo de colores especiales, los cuáles están editados sobre los diversos sustratos posibles de utilizar (papel mate o brillante). Existen básicamente 2 clases de color que se reproducen los colores sólidos (spot o plenos) y sus respectivos matices y los tonos especiales como colores flúos, metalizados, etc..)

Erro no DVD ENCORE para exportar e para criar menu.

Pessoal, estou enfrentando um problema vamos lá, antes de tudo, uso o pacote PAGO.
Instalei o premiere CS6 para ter o DVD encore, usei o encore e até ai tudo ótimo, ai fechei um menu, até ai perfeito...
observei que tinha um erro de Português no menu e decidi modificar, abri o programa, fiz a mudança e quando fui fechar ele me aparece dando essa mensagem de erro...
Tento abrir um novo projeto e da outro erro:
ja desinstalei e instalei tirando até as preferências, continua dando os dois erros.
Quando abro o projeto que ja conseguir fazer (o único), ele abre mas na hora de fechar em IMAGEM ou m qualquer outro formato que o programa me oferece como fiz anteriormente ele da o erro da primeira foto, o programa não me sugere solução nem nada, alguém pode me ajudar?????????

Why different values in Illustrator/InDesign/PS when converting Pantone to RGB & CMYK?

I'm starting off with a pantone color in InDesign and trying to determine a close and consistent approximation of RGB, CMYK, and Hex. When I do this conversion in InDesign, I get different results than if I do it in Photoshop or Illustrator. I have all the apps working at the same color management setting (Adobe RGB (1998) and US Web Coated (SWOP) v2). I'm working old school in CS1.
Here are my results for Pantone 187C:

I realize that any conversion from Pantone is an approximation, but why do the different applications yeild different results? I'm fairly new to color management and print (I come from the video world), so any efforts to dumb down explanations are appreciated.

Photoshop's default is to use Lab values when converting from spot colors. So you need to set InDesign and Illustrator to use the same values.
In Illustrator, from the Swatches panel menu, choose Spot Color Options. Choose Use Lab Values specified by the book manufacturer.
In InDesign, from the Swatches panel menu, choose Ink Manager. At the bottom, check Use Standard Lab Values for Spots

Illustrator CC and Pantone+ 336

Does anyone know if Adobe is ever going to update its Pantone+ swatch library? Roughly one year has passed since Pantone added its "+336" color series to the Pantone+ library. This happened before the release of Illustrator CC. Various patches and updates have been applied to Illustrator CC yet the Pantone library in Illustrator CC remains out of date.
I'll also mention the same issue applies to other Adobe applications and applications from rival vendors.
Pantone has their $40 color manager application, but it's not clear if it's compatible with Illustrator CC, much less other applications like CorelDRAW, Roland VersaWorks, Photoshop, etc. What's more aggravating is other companies, such as Sherwin Williams for instance, make custom swatch libraries that do work with Adobe Illustrator and they're available for free.
I wouldn't care about this +336 swatch issue if not for a couple of customers who have designated some of these spot colors in their logo designs. They've been warned about the lack of support for those colors in graphics software, but they want them anyway.

I just checked the Pantone+ libraries in CS6 Illustrator and InDesign, and 336 is there. Since you have a CC subscription, you could download CS6 and use its color library.

Como recortar en illustrator cs4?

hola, hace 2 dias que uso illustrator cs4 y mi duda es con respecto a la herramienta cortar, en la version cs3 elegia esa herramienta y seleccionaba lo que necesitaba para exportarlo, en cambio ahora no puedo exportar solo un pedacito de imagen la exporta completa, me podrian ayudar

1. Necesitas crear una nueva mesa de trabajo que ocupe o tenga situado en su interior la parte de la ilustración que quieres exportar a JPEG. Equivaldría al Área de Recorte de versiones anteriores de Illustrator.
2. Para crear esa mesa de trabajo con la herramienta de Mesa de Trabajo (May+O) tienes que pulsar la tecla May al principio de arrastrar con esta herramienta si se desea situar sobre otra mesa de trabajo.
Hay un sistema más sencillo y visual que es dibujar un rectángulo como marco del área que se desea exportar y convertirlo a mesa de trabajo con el comando Objeto>Mesa de Trabajo>Convertir a Mesa de Trabajo (Equivale al comando Objeto>Área de Recorte>Convertir de versiones previas)
En ambos casos debes fijarte en el número de la Mesa de Trabajo creada, selecciona la herram. Mesa de Trabajo para verlo, pulsa Esc para salir de esa vista.
3. Para exportar utiliza el comando Archivo>Exportar, escoje el formato JPEG, y lo más importante:
Fíjate cómo debajo, en la parte inferior, aparece una casilla de Utilizar Mesas de Trabajo, márcala. A la derecha marca el botón de Rango y en la ventana escribe el número de la Mesa de Trabajo que recorta tal como deseas la ilustración.
4. Pulsa en Guardar y comprueba el resultado.

Has anyone used the Classroom in a book?
I'm having huge problems trying to understand Chapter 14 and masking the image. It just seems a bit around the houses and some bits appear pointless.
I've gone over and over it and am now getting brain freeze!!!

Same colors display differently between Illustrator and Photoshop

Hi there,
I would love to know why the same colors display differently between my Photoshop and Illustrator apps (CS3). For example, a logo will display much darker or more vividly in Illustrator than in Photoshop, same file, same colour values. My color settings are synchronized from Adobe Bridge to North American Pre Press 2. I've opened the logo file in RGB color mode, in both apps. It would be so helpful if both apps displayed the colours consistently.
Any suggestions on how to do this would be wonderful!

Hello Bobbie,
I am using CS3 too and let me tell you that this Illustrator version is the worst ever. You best bet is to take the "Eye Drop" tool and select the Photoshop element to match the color.
CS4 also have problems when handle placed items. Sadly I can tell you that CS2 is more reliable than CS3 and CS4.
Not even if you use Pantone colors will match, Illustrator will change the colors making it impossible to match. "Adobe Quality"

PC, CS6 Illustrator, Crash, Outil Transformation manuelle

Le problème est présent sur 2 postes Windows 7 en 32 et 64 bits (les seuls sur lesquels j'ai installé l'application).
Lorsque je sélectionne des objets sur un calque, que j'appuie sur "outil transformation manuelle", et que je click (peut importe où dans le document), Illustrator plante et affiche "Adobe Illustrator CS6 a cessé de fonctionner"...

Ce n'est pas très clair vos systèmes de mise à jour :
Si je récapitule, j'ai fait une mise à jour :
- à la main pour la version 16.0.3
- automatique via le menu aide
- automatique via le creative cloud
Différences entre les 3 ?
Maintenant le problème ne semble plus se produire (avec celle du creative cloud) sur au moins l'une des 2 machines. Je vais procéder de même sur l'autre.

Pantone color question

Hi, Could someone help me with this please? My printer wants me to switch the text I used in Illustrator to Pantone. I use Illustrator 10 and am wondering how I would go about switching the CMYK font to PMS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Presuming you have unstroked live Type, you may:
1) Select the Type and click the Color box at the bottom (left) of the Toolbox; this should show you the current CMYK value of the Type (fill) in the Color palette;
2) Click Window>Swatch Libraries>PANTONE whichever relevant (you may have to ask the printer which to choose (maybe solid coated/uncoated)); this should open the relevant set of PANTONE swatches;
3) Click the desired swatch; this should now show in the Color palette.
This should change the colour of the Type as desired.

Vectorizar en illustrator

hola!!! recurro a los expertos!
Mi tema es este: tengo un dibujo hecho a mano en lapiz y lo escanee. quiero pasarlo a vectores. lo he hecho en corel simplemente vectorizando pero no queda como quisiera. es decir, lineas negras a las q yo les pueda cambiar el grosor y trabajar con los nodos a mi gusto.
no me quedan lineas simples como hechas con la pluma, sino como planos delgados con muuuchos nodos formando las lineas.
hay alguna forma en photoshop o illustrator para q queden lineas como hechas con la pluma de manera normal? mi dibujo es en blanco y negro, solo lineas sin relleno. desde ya, gracias!!!

Para vectorizar en Illustrator tienes la herramienta o comando Live Trace, Calco Interactivo en español.
Tras colocar la imagen escaneada, en la barra de control en la parte superior tienes un botón para "vectorizar"la imagen, Calco Interactivo. pulsa para obtener un resultado inicial. En la barra de control verás ahora el ajuste de trazado inicial aplicado en un menú desplegable, a su derecha hay un icono que te permite configurar una serie de opciones para ajustar la imagen y la forma de vectorizarla, ajuste de umbral (lo que considera negro o línea) y de Área mínima a trazar, dos triangulos para ver o no, de forma combinada, la imagen y el resultado final.
Lo de Live o Interactivo significa que se pueden probar toda una serie de preajustes, modificarlos, visualizar resultado, hasta que nos convenza el resultado, entonces al pulsar sobre el botón de Expandir es cuando se efectúa en realidad el proceso de vectorización, desaparece la imagen y quedan los trazados y rellenos.
En las opciones de Calco hay una casilla para Ignorar Blanco, de forma que el fondo quede transparente y no se pierda el tiempo eliminando rellenos.
Bueno mi consejo es que experimentes con este control y consultes la ayuda del programa, también tienes este comando y sus opciones en el menú de Objetos.
Es aconsejable que escanees la imagen y la limpies y aumentes el contraste previamente en Photoshop; dos acciones que se pueden hacer en Illustrator sobre la imagen a vectorizar pero que resulta más práctico hacer en Photoshop son: Desenfocar ligeramente las líneas para suavizar su aspecto y evitar un exceso de puntos, y Posterizar para reducir el número o cantidad de transiciones de los colores en imágenes en color.
