Parameter passing issue for HTMLDB report page
Hi,
I have created a HTMLDB report based on SQL query in which the where clause column needs to takeup dynamic value each time.
So I have defined a hidden item on the page PUSERID of Source type "Static Assigment".
And this variable is used in SQL as
Select Name
from employees
where employeeid = :PUSERID
Now when i try to run this report and pass the parameter thru the URL by edititng the URL to have parameter value as
http://localhost:33492/pls/htmldb/f?p=104:8:8320056215249064505:::::PUSERID:CPRASAD
This shows the page with no data found...though when i run the query manually it returns the result.
Select Name
from employees
where employeeid = 'CPRASAD'
Plz let me know the correct procedure to make this work?
Thanks
AJ
Thanks Serigo..it works!
But why we need to remove the colon?Was it symbolizing that there was no parameter passed initially on URL and later when I was expecting one which was acting as two parametes in case of my url example(one parameter as nothing and another ad PUSERID)

Smartform Implementation issue for the report RFKORD50
Hi,
I have a requirement to implement a smartform for FI Invoice.
This smartform should be configured in OB96 for the print program RFKORD50.
Currently the SAP Script F140_DOCU_EXC_01 has been configured for Standard print program RFKORD50.
This SAP Script should be replaced with Smartform. But the issue is the report RFKORD50 is designed to
call only a SAP Scrip. Is there any better way to trigger the Smartform other than modifying the standard program?
Thanks,
Sailaja.AHi,
One of the very tough task, when it comes to migrate a script into Smartforms .. With a satndard print program ..
You have a option on samrtform screen , just to migrate a Sapscript into Smartform .. But it is just a migration of Layout.. means just creation of WINDOWS and pages.. All the elements and text node creation still you need to do ..
But one of the major challenge is to Customize your print program..
So i will suggest you to create a Z copy of RFKORD50.. as print prgm .. Then you can feal better
Now keep all the data selection part as it is .. collect it in different structure, then call your samrtform..
and before calling your smartform, prepare your layout ..
Very Imp suggestion, try to work on small small task. -
Oracle forms 10g Parameter passing from forms to reports
Hello Room,
Please let me know what is wrong with this code. It is not passing parameter at all to the reports 10g parameter form from forms 10g, no matter what. I tried to delete the parameter from reports parameter form, I also tried to enable/disable restricted values from reports, I tried to hide the parameter from reports, but it is just not doing it.

Please help. Thank you in advance.Hello Inol,
Greetings !
There seems to be a syntax error when I run your code:-
REP-52251: Cannot get output of job ID 272 you requested on Fri Apr 08 02:37:25 GMT 2011.<P>REP-51026: No output for job 272
when I run then command:-
http://local-pc:8889/reports/rwservlet/showjobs
Terminated with error: <br>REP-159: Syntax error on command line.
Is there a error on your statement ?
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1) ||'?server=repsrv );
it should be
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1) ||'?server=repsrv ' );
then only it is getting compiled properly. A single quote in the end !
And finally I changed this line
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,'paramform=no p_1='||:SP_USERCODE 'p_my_second_parameter='||:block.my_second_parameter);
to this line
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,'paramform=no p_1='||:SP_USERCODE|| *'p*mysecond_parameter='||:block.my_second_parameter);
as it is giving error where highlighted in bold Is it necessary to change and add a concatenation there ?_
But... But... even though I compile it properly the code is getting executed and it is giving the above error. Please note the same.
Also please tell me what should be the status of the following things in report builder 10g.
1. Shall I remove the parameters vcompany and vlocname from the parameter form and keep it just in parameters of report , There is a third parameter which I want the user to input while running the report other than these 2 parameters ?
2. Shall I restrict the parameter to predetermined values ?
3. Shall I hide the first column of the parameter in report builder.
I have also tried to simulate the execution parameters from batch to runtime and comm mode to synchronous and asynchronous and vice versa. I have also given command rwserver server = repsrv on my pc and also server pc. please let me know about this also whether I need to give this command every time ? I mean for every booting ?
As this problem is faced by many people. I think it should work across the fly as given by you or rather corrected by you. I would also like to know is there any patch available for the same released by oracle, as I have read somewhere in the forum here which I cannot locate the thread now. I do not mind paying for support if I find the need ?
Please help me further. Thank you. -

LOV issue for Crystal Report 4.0 ( Enterprise ) using the BICS connection
Hi Expert,
I am working for one our client which is using Crystal Report Enterprise 4.0 SP 2 i am facing the following problem with the LOV .
- I have created the crystal report on top of BEx query using the OLAP connection in CMC .
I have the variable at BEx query level which have list of value around 100 K and user want to search through that LOV in order to make his selection but as soon as i include that variable in my Query and run my CR my report crashes and i cannot run the report .
I gave the user the option of manual input of value to that variable it does not work as it uses the BICS connection and i read somewhere we cannot use the manual input in case of BICS connection for crystal report you have to select the value from the LOV .
My Question is is there any workaround if we can restrict our LOV to some extent and let the user to select and search from that any setting if we have at query designer level to restrict the LOV to burst in the report .
Any input will be appreciated .
Thanks,

Two headers for a report - page 1 first header rest all second header
Hi,
I am having a requirement where i have to add a haeder1 for page 1 and header2 for rest of all the pages in a report.
currently we are using Start body and end body tags in RTF.
Is it possible to use Start body and end body two times, if yes steps to use that or any work around to achieve this.
Regards,
HemanthHi,
You can use a sub-template, in the header, put an "if" statement that tests the first page to display the correct information. -

Process for Annual Reports / Page Updates Etc....
Whats the best way to get the text in a document that is 20+ pages with text and images, like an annual report?
Should I link the whole WORD file?
Make a WORD file for each page?
I want my client to be able to easily make text changes and resend a word doc so there isn't so much back-and-forth going on.
In the past I just pasted the text into frames but I spent 3x the amount of time on it because the customer had so many text changes after layout was done.
Lookin' for a better solution - thanks!--- Put a cap on the amount of edits you make to the document ---
Good luck with that approach. I wouldn't even attempt to tell a client "Hey, that's it- you can't make any more changes."
I think it's much easier to reach an understanding with the client before the project begins. I give them an estimate based on a written set of specs, and I make sure they understand that the estimate only covers work done up to the first proof. After that, straight time at the studio rate- same thing if they change the specs once the job has started. It takes as long as it takes, and it costs whatever it costs- it's all up to the client once we get into the end game. -

A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
Reproduction:
1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

How to disabled the input parameter dialog box in crystal reports 9
Post Author: Murtaza

Hi friends,I have got stuck with a weird problem. In my
crystal report, I have set up some input parameters. I am setting
values for these parameters somewhere inside code. But I don't
want to show the default input parameter dialog box. Under any case,
user should not see the ugly parameter dialog box that crystal
presents. Please suggest me how I can achieve
this. I cannot do this through code, because our environment does
not allow that. I have to do this in crystal reports viewer and
by setting some property of the crystal report object. But everything
must be done on UI, not through code. So, the solution should not be the following.
// step before step 1
// **** the line needs to refer to the report and be set before setting
ReportSource in the viewer to myReport
myReport.EnableParameterPrompting = False
Any help would be greatly appreciated. MurtazaPost Author: sleahcim

Hi Murtaza,
Unfortunately, I am not aware of any method to suppress the prompt for the input parameters, but still use them. It is truly a design-related issue for the report. The reason that the prompt appears is because the parameter it is prompting for is used in the report; in particular either the Group or Record Selection, or referenced in another formula.
The only way I can think of to not show the prompt, is to not use the parameter in the report. You did mention that you are setting the value of the parameter inside of the report -- are you doing this through using a formula? Perhaps you can just remove the parameter and only use the formula that you are setting the default values with.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Is there any idea to tailore the MSExcel pattern so
that it does not permit final user to change the
report content.Have you looked into using FOP to create PDFs?
