Parameter retrieve from variable_table
I have a parameter like this:
l_cheque CONSTANT varchar2(6) := 'CHEQUE';How do I set my parementer like this?
l_cheque CONSTANT varchar2(6) := 'select variable from variable_table where name = 'Cheque';The reason why I am retrieving from my table is because I want to make sure my parameter is able to change to the value that whatever my variable_table is changed to. Is it possible to do it this way?
You can proceed like this.
l_cheque variable_table.variable%type;
select variable into l_cheque from variable_table where name = 'Cheque';

Please select one payment details in Business partner and use assigned tab from top selection parameter from standing instruction to assigned bank details to product type.
It will open other window like above example for each product of treasury, then assign bank details to product. Once assigned and save.
System will pick payment details in deal automatically based on business partner.

Unable to get parameter values from a remote database
I am linking to a remote database view via a synonym in Oracle and trying to retrieve parameter values from it. The username and password are the same for the local and remote database and I can run the SQL query using SQL plus against the database and values are returned. However, when I try and run the same query in Crystal Reports (XI) I receive an Oracle error:
"An attempt was made to connect or log in to a remote database using a connection description that could not be found.
Action:
Specify an existing database link. Query the data dictionary to see all existing database links. See your operating system-specific Net8 documentation for valid connection descriptors. "
How can it be that Crystal cannot run the query when it is valid in SQL plus?
Any tips/info would be appreciated.

So this one is also failing in the designer.
All the parameters in the main report are static and the ones in the subreport are passed in from the main report. -

Data Retrieval from SSRS 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012 standard

We have a virtual machine running SSRS 2008 R2 and a physical server running SQL server 2012 standard. We are having an issue with a report that is taking almost 10 minutes for the data to be retrieved from the sql 2012 database. We used the
execution logging query to debug and analyze. We see that it renders and processes very fast, but the data retrieval time is very slow. When the same query is run using sql studio mgr. from the SSRS server it runs just fine...it
takes seconds for the results to come up.
I don't believe there is a compatibilty issue because other reports run fine. We're just having problems with one report.A long shot, but I've seen where the data type of a report parameter is mismatched against the data type of the table it is being compared against. SQL profiler would show this clearly.
This would explain why the query returns quickly in ssms but not with the report. -
Parameter Passing from UWL to WebDynpro Component

I m having a small problem in parameter passing from the UWL to the Webdynpro component(EP6 SP16).
The UWL shows a list of shopping carts and I ve configured it such that the Shopping carts open in the webdynpro application. Now the requirement is that I want to pass the shopping cart number from the workitem container and retrieve it in the webdynpro component.
The only thing that i m able to retrieve is the work-item ID. I ve followed the documentation on help.sap.com but I m not able to figure out how to move ahead with this.The code which i m using to retrive the dynamic parameter is

Passing a parameter list from a web form to a report
I am using FORMS6 and REPORTS6, with OAS 4.07 on NT4 (SP3).
In client server mode all works well - i am able to pass parameter lists from my calling form to the relevant reports and view them (using RUN_PRODUCT).
However, when i try and do the same by deploying the web Form I come up against several obstacles.
1. How do you pass a parameter list over without using "Paramform=Yes" - a waste of time seeing a html version of the reports parameter form when all the necessary parameters have been selected in the form.
2. if i use web.show_document, with paramform=no, the report runs but with it's default settings.

Launcher form is just a simple form(Non database form) which will be having all fields that is required for the report and button to run the report .
When button pressed trigger
Pass all the parameters which are required using Run_product tool & Call the report by Web.Show_document
Best way to see the report is in .pdf format in adobe acrobat reader

DirectAccess Server 2012 Configuration cannot be retrieved from domain controller

We are using DirectAccess over Server 2012. There is just one server, no load balancing.
Everything works fine, all clients can connect successfully and operations status page shows all in green. Nevertheless on the dashboard page in the configuration status section it say “Configuration for server [servername] cannot be retrieved
from the domain controller.”
I found a few hints what could cause this problem:
In my case, the RAConfigTask, a scheduled task, was not enabled on the affected WS2012 server (DA entry point in a multisite deployment). After just enabling it, the errors has gone."

I checked everything. Task is enabled and completed successfully, GPO is not filtered out, run gpupdate without any errors, could connect to domain controller, no errors on domain controller, domain controller is writable.
So, I have no idea what could cause this error. Any ideas or hints?

Sebastiani have the exact same problem i figured out that there was a problem with the logon as a service
secpol.msc --> Local Policies --> User Rights Assignement, Logon as a service i have NT Service\All Services
i can acces the group policy via the cpnsole just fine i have not connectivity issues what so ever.
i decided to open a call with microsoft, their suggestion .... we dont know reinstall so i did and here we are same problem and no solution. it is getting frustrating... -

How to omit parameter values from exceptions thrown by the JDBC driver
Is there a way to get the Oracle JDBC driver to omit the parameter values from the message when it throws an exception?
We have an application that persists credit cards and when an exception is thrown by the driver, it's including the credit card number in the error message, which ultimately gets logged by the application. There are too many layers and locations, including OpenJPA, Spring, and our own application, where we'd have to massage the error data to remove that card number.
For example, we get the following exception:

The actual content of the message appears to come from the JDBC driver, not OpenJPA.
This particular example doesn't show the card number, but only exposed that possibility as a risk.
BTW: before you ask, for PCI compliance we're using a database layer service to encrypt the card numbers before they're stored in the table.

Playing a video file retrieved from database using JMF
Hello!
I am developing a multimedia application that has to store videos, music, pictures in a database. I did a little searching and found that JMF is a very good solution in playing video/music using Java. I found some examples to play the video/music stored on the hard drive (as separate files), but i have to be able to take the video/music from the database, and feed it to the JMF player. Has anyone some suggestions about how this could be done?

The thing is this: let's suppose i have a 700 MB movie stored in the database. One option to play that movie would be to retrieve it from the DB, create a file somewhere on the disk, and put the data retrieved from the database in that file. But this involves that the disk will be overflooded when let's say 100 people watch 100 different movies. Another option (as i see it) would be to gradually take parts of the movie from the database (first 50 MB, then another 50 MB, then another and so on), and feed it to the JMF player. The user will watch the movie, but will not have the whole movie available, just a part of it. As he watches it, the application takes the next chunck of movie data and feeds it to the JMF player. That was the question i intended to ask, if anyone has any idea regarding the second option, and not the part with retrieving from the database, but the part with giving the JMF player video data to play.
