Parent as a source of child member calc

I have a calc where we are calculating an account that uses the parent as its source (this is second part of a calc that pushes an amount to multiple cost centers then reverses the amount in a sub account.
The calc works fine and we do a calc dim to make the parent basically equal to the new amount which substracts out the amount allocated. The problem arises when you obviously run this again or more than once.
First I attempted to add the child in the formula. child = 0.05(Parent - Child). Which mathematically will work, but Essbase didn't like it and gave me funny results (child equalled like 0.05023 or something like that)
Next I created a script where i cleardata the child. Recalc'd the parent then did the allocated and reversal. This works.. but for some reason when you re-run the calc it doesn't seem to reset the parent and acts if the parent is the new amount
I am using 11.1.1.3 and Calc Manager to write the script. I have set it to use 4 parrallel calc processing. My only thought why the last approach doesn't work is that it is jumping through the calc and did things in the wrong linear order somehow.
1) Is there another approach I haven't thought about to test in people's experience?
2) Why would the script be doing things in the wrong order and how do I force it to do it correctly. Note this is step like 39 of like 100 calcs so efficiency is very important.
Any help would be appreciated

In fact , I do have a problem to make it work.
<h:dataTable ...
<h:selectOneMenu value="#{row.country}" rendered="#{row.marked}" >
<f:selectItems value="#{fta_app.countryList}" />
</h:selectOneMenu>
</h:dataTable >
for countryList property
when I declare and populate List in a bean
       List cl = new LinkedList() ;
       cl.add( new SelectItem ( country , country )) ;it does work
when instead I declare and populate Map in a bean
        TreeMap cm = new TreeMap() ;
        cm.put( country , country ) ;it brings menu( or poplist ) without problem in a cell but when I refresh a screen after selecting something it gives me

  • EVDRE- Child member values not rolling up to Parent

    Dear Freinds,
    I am using 4 Hierarchy in Account DIM.  I am facing a problem that for second hierarchy child member values not summing up to Parent.
    Dimentioned processed sucessfully.
    Thanks ! in advance.

    Have you recently implemented EHP1?
    If so there is a common issue with the hierarchy tables - refer to OSS note 1139396
    Hope this helps

  • Dim. SCD2 issue, when parent value change. The child loses parent history.

    oracle DB: 10.2
    owb: 10.2.0.4
    Create a SCD2 type dimension with six levels in it. Alle levels have the same columns, see below (change the nr for the level)
    L1_KPL_PK
    L1_DATA_TILL
    L1_SLEUTEL
    L1_DESC
    L1_DATA_FROM
    L1
    When running the mapping, the hierachie is perfectly inserted into the table. When changing the
    value of the L1 parent in te source and running the mapping again the following
    is happend:
    He closed the parent record with the old value and insert a till date.
    He update alle child record with the new value
    He inserts a new record with the new value of the parent.
    What i should expect wat would happen was:
    He closed the parent record with the old value and insert a till date.
    He close alle child records with the old value and insert a till date.
    He inserts new records for all child with the new value of the parent.
    He inserts a new record with the new value of the parent.
    I searched on the net for this issue and i found oracle fixed it in a patch 10.2.04 The bug is know under nr 6004133
    "Child looses parent reference when SCD2 attribute change in parant.
    Installed the patch(7005587) and renewed my dimension, table, and mapping in the repository. Ran the mapping, but the result is not what i expexted as
    descriped above.
    Help needed to fix this issue. So alle histoy is beeing saved.

    Hi
    There was a change in OWB 10.2.0.3 (I think it was this patch) to support this scenario.
    If you go to the SCD settings panel for your dimension, each level also has the parent level's identifying column (this is the new bit) and you can set the Record History property for the parent identifier in order that a change in this will trigger history in the level (so the hierarchy can be versioned). So if you set this and synchronize the dimension operator in your map and redeploy the map, you should be in shape.
    So for example if you had L1, L2, L3 with attributes ID, NAME, ATT, EFF_DATE and EXP_DATE then the SCD panel would have;
    *L1
    ID
    NAME
    EFF_DATE eff date
    EXP_DATE exp date
    ATT trigger history
    *L2
    ID
    NAME
    EFF_DATE eff date
    EXP_DATE exp date
    ATT trigger history
    L1_ID trigger history
    *L3
    ID
    NAME
    EFF_DATE eff date
    EXP_DATE exp date
    ATT trigger history
    L2_ID trigger history
    Let me know if its unclear.
    Cheers
    David

  • How to delete the duplicate rows present in the parent table & insert the latest duplicate record into the parent table linked with the child table.

    I have a master table and i need to import the rows into the parent and child table.
    Master table name is Flatfile_Inventory
    Parent Table name is INVENTORY
    Child Tables name are INVENTORY_AMOUNT,INVENTORY_DETAILS,INVENTORY_VEHICLE,
    Error details will be goes to LOG_INVENTORY_ERROR
    I have 4 duplicate rows in the Flatfile_Inventory which i have already inserted in the Parent and child table.
    Again when i run the query using stored procedure,
    its tells that all the 4 rows are duplicate and will move to the Log_Inventory_Error.
    I need is if i have the duplicate rows in the flatfile_Inventory when i start inserting into the parent and child table the already inserted row have the unique ID i
    must identify it and delete that row in the both parent and chlid table.And latest row must get inserted into the Parent and child table from Flatfile_Inventory.
    Please help me to write the query i have attached the Full stored procedure Script..

    So I have a Parent swf that loads a Child swf (this goes
    without any problems), but I want the Parent to call a function in
    the child, now this is where it goes wrong...
    The function the Parent has to call is named "lookupcar" and
    needs to give the value "wagen" with it. The problem I think is
    that the Parent wants to call the function but it still needs to
    load (correct me if I'm wrong). Is there a way to check if the
    Child swf is loaded completely before trying to call the function?
    Could you give me an example of this please? Or any other
    suggestions on what goes wrong?
    Code in the Parent
    root.inhoud.createEmptyMovieClip("thetext", "thetext",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    root.inhoud.thetext.loadMovie("uitrusting-wagenpark.swf");
    root.inhoud.thetext.lookupcar(wagen);
    Code in the Child
    (the function lookupcar)
    _global.lookupcar = function(carnr:String){
    trace("LOOKUPCAR, with car nr: " + carnr);
    Thanks in advance for all the help.

    Perfect....just to make sure i m taking care of it in a nice practical way....here is how i learned to access a file located in Child (researching other posts)
    is this the way you recommend it?
    (LoaderName.content as MovieClip).functionName(new Event("whatever"))
    and in Child File we have
    function functionName(e:Event)
    i have seen other ways of calling a function in Child Swf , like using EmbedSWF and etc. wanna make sure which one is a better practice. Thanks

  • Parent nodes have themselves as childs, in contrast to BW hierarchy

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a problem concerning hierarchies and grouping in CR2008.
    Inserting the hierarchy works fine, but here's the problem:
    Every parent node has itself as child node, i.e. the hierarchy shown is:
    1
    1.1
    1.2
    1.2.2
    1.2.3
    instead of the correct:
    1
    1.2
    1.2.3
    That even occurs when I just include the Node ID, without any grouping and hierarchy settings.
    Such behaviour is undesirable for my purpose, so how can I make Crystal Reports behave like I expect/want? I am completely confused where these additional nodes are originating, as they are definitely not defined in the BW hierarchy. Therefore I suspect the problem somewhere in Crystal, although I have no actual evidence supporting this...
    Has anyone an idea how to solve that problem? I have crawled through SDN and unfortunately wasn't able to find a solution...
    Thanks!

    Hi Ingo,
    first I'd like to apologize for the late reply, I was very busy with another project during the last weeks.
    It seems to be the bookable nodes setting in the query, at least only such parent nodes are affected that have data posted to themselves. Obviously, the actual parent node as shown in Crystal is the one with data aggregated by Crystal and the child node is the one with the data that was posted to the node.
    I'll try to find some free time during the remainder of the week for further investigation and provide additional feedback.
    Thanks for your help so far!

  • FTREE_NODE: Find parent node which has no child nodes

    Hi guys
    Does anybody know how to find a parent node which has no child node(s)?
    I couldn't find any build-in at the online help. Is there a trick to got this?
    Thanks in advance
    Remo

    Hi Remo,
    I misspoke, in my earlier post. The FTREE built-in has defined constants for the possible values that FTREE.NODE_STATE can have -- FTREE.COLLAPSED, FTREE.EXPANDED and FTREE.LEAF_NODE.
    If you wish, rather than testing for a value of '0', you can instead test for a value of FTREE.LEAF_NODE. Both are functionally identical, but using the constants can improve the readability of your code, eliminating the need for additional comments.

  • Issue adding Child member to the outline in 11.1.2.2

    Hi ,
    We have any Issue with adding the member to the Outline. Details mentioned below.
    Server locked up when i was updating the outline. I was erasing lower level structure.. This has been a chronic problem..
    http://gvw3086-v.atlanta.hp.com:9000/easconsole/console.html
    Need this server reset asap.. this is holding up important forecast work. Many people are depending on this getting done.
    However to make it work you have to change the name of an existing member.. then add to the data base outline.. which disappear when you put it in.. save it. close and reopen and the structure add will be present. Do not copy, and delete siblings.. this will cause the server to lock up.
    We had this issue before and what I have done is
    just add the Child Outline and when we saved it it’s not saving  the cursor keeps on browsing and  rotating and it will not save. So in order to save  just rename some other child member and save it then it saves. And when we close and reopen the outline we can see the child Outline was added. And again rename the other child member what we renamed to its original name.
    The above one is just a temporary fix what we did but can any one help me on Permanent Fix for this.
    Regards,
    Naveen

    Hi Naveen,
      I think this issue is related to JRE version. As per support matrix for 11.1.2.2, JRE version version should be 1.6_29+.  (that does not mean Java 7 is supported)
      Check whats the Java/JRE version you have on the system from which you are accessing EAS link.
      If its Java 7, uinstall it & install supported 1.6 version.
    Hope this resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Santy.

  • HT5622 Are there any parental controls that can be placed on an apple ID that a parent would obtain for a child?

    Are there any parental controls that can be placed on an apple ID that a parent would obtain for a child?

    Not on the ID as such, but you can certainly use parental controls (Sustem Preferences) and/or create a limited access user account  (in Users & Groups). You would have to delete any applications or folders s/he is not allowed to have access to.

  • Scheduling a parent concurrent program to activate child concurrent program

    Hi All,
    I have a below mentioned requirement and as I have not come across such request before can somebody please confirm me if it can be achieved using a request set.
    We want a parent concurrent program to activate a child concurrent program with a certain schedule. The child program upon completion should schedule itself to run the next time according to the schedule set initially.
    So by using a request set can I achieve the above mentioned requirement or are there any better way to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Anup

    Hi Helios,
    Thanks for your response checked the link that was provided, but it has information on start and end dates of a Parent concurrent request and all child processes. But in my case I want a parent concurrent program (which in turn should activate the Child concurrent program) to be submitted once . The child program upon completion should schedule itself to run the next time according to the schedule set initially. So I am checking whether this can achieved using a request set. But in a request set I am not sure whether a separate schedule can be created for individual concurrent programs . Currently I don't have access to any instance, so I am not able to try out that.

    Thanks John - still not quite working
    I should give another detail / extra complexity
    The "Geographic Location" dimensions looks like this:
    "Geographic Location" (Gen 1)
    "United States" (Gen 2)
    "SC" (Gen 3)
    "Unique Facility 1", "Unique Facility 2" etc (Gen 4)
    The data I have would be for Facility 1, Facility 2 which are unique member names which just happen to roll up under SC in the outline. I would have thought it would just load directly to those members without needing to specify their parent values.
    Do I need to specify [Geographic Location].[United States].[SC].[Facility 1] ? This seems like it's something that needs to be done in the source file rather than using the prefix/suffix features of the Rules File.

  • Incorrect aggregation in parent after deleting data in any child member

    Hi Experts,
    Currently we are facing a problem in which data are aggregating at parent level properly except in cases where data were already present and subsequently has been deleted. For example if '1000' has been entered in a child level member, it is properly shown in its parent. But, when this figure is deleted, the parent level member is not updated. If '1000' is replaced by any other figure, it is properly being updated in the parent.
    The dimension members in which data are being entered have 'Store' property and we are using AGG business rule to accumulate data in parent level.
    The above issue is appearing in all months except February. I have checked settings of the dimension member 'February' and it matches with the settings of all other months.
    Kindly guide me in this regard as to why this issue is coming and its possible solution.
    Thanks in advance!

    Not very clear from description but,
    Along with Aggregate missing off, Turn off the intelligent calculations as well:
    SET UPDATECALC OFF;
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_tech_ref/set_updatecalc.html
    Is it a single child of the parent, the only child which aggregates to parent,
    Are you entering data though data form, is the base member and shared member both are present in data form in rows?
    Cheers..!!

  • Child member falling under Two different Parents

    Hi,
    Can any one help me!
    Two Parents are "A" and "B", a child named "C" has fallen under these two.If I want to post a Journal to "C" does it affect "A" or "B".
    Thanks in Advance.

    Journals posted to <Entity Curr Adjs> will apply to all parents.
    Journals posted to <Parent Curr Adjs> will apply only to parents who have the same currency for which the original journal was posted. That is, if child A with currency USD has three parents, two of which are EUR and one of which is CAD, and the user posts a <Parent Curr Adjs> in EUR, the amount will apply to the two EUR parents, but not the CAD parent.
    Journals posted to [Parent Adjs] or [Contribution Adjs] apply only to the one parent involved inthe adjustment. These do not apply to other parent entities.

  • Rules - Parent entity not rolling up from base calcs

    What's the problem: Parent Entity member is calculating with a number for a certain account, even though I've specifically excluded this from happening in my rule. I don't want the parent entity to calculate
    What should happen: Parent Entity member should just add up the result of its children for that account
    Hi guys,
    I have a calculation that is designed to specifically run at base entity level only. So I'm expecting that the parent result for a certain account should just be the addition of the results in its child entity members for that account
    You can see from the code snippet below that I'm running the statements only when they're enclosed by the vIsBaseEntity conditional statement.
    I want to get the required number, a simple A-B calc which looks at the change from prior year (but flips the sign if it's an equity account) into the SBS_MOVE custom 1 member.
    If vIsBaseEntity then
         For Each vBSMoveAcct in HS.Account.List("","CalcBSMovementAccounts")
              If HS.Account.UD2(vBSMoveAcct) = "Equity" Then
         HS.Exp "A#" & vBSMoveAcct & ".C1#SBS_MOVE." & All_NONES_XC1C2C4 & " = A#" & vBSMoveAcct & "." & ALL_TOPS_XC2C4 & " - A#" & vBSMoveAcct & ".Y#Prior.P#Last." & ALL_TOPS_XC2C4
              Else
              'Standard Calculation
              'C1#SBS_MOVE = Prior Year End Amount - Current Period Balance Sheet Amount
              HS.Exp "A#" & vBSMoveAcct & ".C1#SBS_MOVE." & All_NONES_XC1C2C4 & " = A#" & vBSMoveAcct & ".Y#Prior.P#Last." & ALL_TOPS_XC2C4 & " - A#" & vBSMoveAcct &"." & ALL_TOPS_XC2C4
              End If
         Next
    end if
    However what actually happens is that whilst the base entities do calc, as specified in the rule, the parent entity does as well for a few accounts, even though that's not specified anywhere in my rule (or in my rules file anywhere else)
    The parent entity for a certain account (Pl reserves), instead of giving me the result of (Current Year YTD minus Prior Year YTD), just gives me the result of Current Yr YTD, or just the A part of the A-B.
    The above code is the only place where SBS_MOVE calculates.
    I've tried to use a HS.Clear to clear that parent intersection first but to no avail.
    So the intersection doesn't have any erroneous data left in it, it actively calculates a result for that parent member when I've specifically told it not to! Why???
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Sal

    To expand a little on this for newbies who may look for this problem:
    The aggregation operator never aggregate means that nowhere in your application will any intersection containing this member aggregate so if this is your problem the symptoms will be:
    1. Dynamic Calc doesn't work.
    2. Any aggregation scripts that are aggregating on intersections with that member will not work
    eg. for example you have a member "no project" and you set it to never aggregate, then any parents in any dimension where they intersect with "no project" will fail to show data, whether they be dynamic calc or you are running a script.
    If you have months or quarters the easiest way to see this is that suddenly the automated sums on the forms where you are using your "no project" member stop working so that your period data doesn't roll up into quarter or year.

  • How to reference the Parent view Object attribute in Child View object

    Hi , I have the requirememt to generate Tree like struture to display Salary from joining date to retirement date in yearly form.I have writtent two Pl/SQL function to return parent node and child nodes(based on selected year).
    1.First function --> Input paramter (employee id, retirement date , joining date) --> return parent node row with start_date and end_date
    2. 2nd function --> input paarmter(employee id, startDate, end_date) --> return child node based on selected parent node i.e. start date and end date
    I have created two ADF view object based on two function return
    Parent Node --> select * from Table( EUPS.FN_GET_CONTR_SAL_BY_YR(employeeId,retirement Date, dateOf joining)) ;
    Child Node --> select * FROM TABLE( EUPS.FN_GET_CONTR_SAL_FOR_YEAR( employeId,startDate, endDate) ) based on selected parent node.
    I am giving binding variable as input for 2nd function (child node) . I don't know how to reference the binding variable value in child view from parent view.
    Like I have to refernce employeId,startDate, endDate values in 2nd function from parent view object. some thing like parentNode.selectedStart_date parentNode.employeeId.
    I know we can achive this writing the code in backing bean.But i want to know how can we refernce parent view object attribute values in child view object using Groovy or otherway?
    I will appreciate your help.
