Parent-child metadata fields
Hi all,
can i configure metadata field to be parent for other field, so when i search by this parent return the document related to it and its child.
OR
can i make the returned value for one of the metadata field work as hyperlink once i click it it return the document which related to this metadata.
WebCenter Content supports so-called Dependent Choice Lists (see Customizing Repository Fields and Metadata - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1))
However, I am not sure whether this is something what you are looking for. Could you describe your use case in more details on an example?

Parent Child Hierarchy - Display other dimension fields against parent
Hi,
I have a Dimension for Customer with a parent child hierarchy. The problem I have is with additional fields within the dimension. See data below:
Row Labels
Customer Group Description
Value
500116 - OOO "Starline"
30
500116 - OOO "Starline"
A - Dealer
5
818781 - OKNO
Direct / End User
10
400464 - OKNO TV
Other
15
500123 - VIDAU SYSTEMS
300
500123 - VIDAU SYSTEMS
A - Dealer
100
400396 - VIDAU SYSTEMS
Other
200
Grand Total
330
I want the Customer Group to show "A - Dealer" for the parent of the first row (against "500116 - OOO "Starline"), but its shown blank. Also, I would like other fields to do the same. As the parent relates to a row in
my dimension table, this should be possible?
Thanks in advance,
DominicHi,
Sorry it took me a while to come back to this.
My dimension has the following columns:
ID
Customer
Customer Group
Parent
1
500116
A - Dealer
NULL
2
818781
Direct / End User
1
2
400464
Other
1
My measure has 3 rows:
customerKey
value
1
5
2
10
3
15
So when this is presented in the cube, the 3 items with values are correctly presented but my problem is that the "Customer Group" doesnt show against record 1 (the parent). In usual circumstances my users will not expand the hierarchy, i
just want the associated row value shown.
Does this make more sense? I hope so, and i hope somebody can help me resolve it.
Thanks,

How to build a query across parent and child object fields?
As a part of an Integration Requirement, I need to query Opportunity records that have been Modified after a specific date and time?
Now, Opportunity has a child object called ProductRevenue with a one to many relationship. Is there anyway I can construct a querypage that will fetch records whose Opportunity fields 'OR' its child ProductRevenue's fields have been modified after a specific date and time?
I have tried using the SearchSpec argument, but it does not let me query across child object fields.
For eg:-
ObjOpptyQueryPageInput.ListOfOpportunity.Opportunity.searchspec = "([ModifiedDate] > '01/01/2013 00:00:00') OR ([ProductRevenueData.ModifiedDate] >= '01/01/2013 00:00:00')";
[This above code written in C# thew me an error saying - The object Opportunity does not have an integration component called - ProductRevenueData.ModifiedDate.]
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Hi,
As far as I know this can't be done at once because you have to consider :
- Every Opportunity and their time-limited ProductRevenues
AND
- Time-limited Opportunities
If you want to achieve this, you have to consider the 2 datasets separately and make your first query :
ObjOpptyQueryPageInput.ListOfOpportunity.Opportunity.searchspec = "([ModifiedDate] >= '01/01/2013 00:00:00')";
but also another query with the restriction on the ProductRevenue Searchspec.
This shouldn't be too hard because the searchspec functionality is present at each level :
- ListOfOpportunity -> Opportunity (the top-level that you used for your query)
- ListOfOpportunity -> Opportunity -> ListOfProductRevenue -> ProductRevenue (the sub-level that you should use for the second query)
Then in your C# code, you merge the 2 datasets and you end up with your expected result.
Hope this helps,
Charles.

Error loading metadata through parent child method

This is my hierarchy of the outline. I am trying to add level 0 projects (d,e,f....). I need to create a rule file which can add about 100 such projects. Can anyone give me an idea how this can be done. I tried doing this with parent child method and it showed an error - "Member E not found in the database" Well thats what I am trying to load in the database. Based on above hierarchy, can anyone show me a sample structure of how loadfile should be arranged.

I wasn't selecting "Build Only" when locating the load/rule files. Bummer !! -
Metadata field ordering incorrectly
I'm using profiles with 7.5.2 and in setting up new profiles I am having a hard time getting metadata fields to display in the correct order. They seem to have a mind of their own.
For instance I have a parent/child relationship setup but when I put the fields in the rule (parent then child) and open the check-in page for that profile they display -
Child
Parent
It isn't just DCL's though. It seems very random what fields will display in the correct order and which ones just seem to drop in where they feel like it LOL.
Any ideas? If I disable the rule all the fields show up and I believe they show up in the order that they were added.
This is the only rule applied to this profile. Other rules do utilize them though in other profiles and they work fine.
It doesn't matter where I move the fields... the child field still shows up above the parent field in the profile.
If I group the rule everything displays fine but I want to be able to seperate or section off the content ID, author, title, account, and security group at the top and have all of these below. I guess I was trying to accomplish this within one rule because that is the way it is setup for our other Profiles. -
Query Help with Parent, Child, Child's Child
Hi all,
Need some help with a query. I'm trying to create a stored procedure that is sort of like a Customer, Order, Order, Details. In my situation the tables are different but nevertheless, I want to grab all the fields from the Parent, Child,
and Childs' Child, where the Parent.ParentID = @Parameter. I tried this:
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[spGetCompleteProjectXML]
@ProjectID int = 0
AS
SELECT *,
(SELECT *,
(SELECT *
FROM PageControls
WHERE (PageControls.ProjectPageID = ProjectPages.ProjectPageID))
FROM ProjectPages
WHERE (ProjectPages.ProjectID = @ProjectID))
FROM Projects
WHERE (ProjectID = @ProjectID)
FOR XML AUTO, ELEMENTS
RETURN 0
I think I'm close, but it was my best effort. Could someone help?
thanks in advanceHi TPolo,
Regarding your description, are you looking for a sample like below?
CREATE TABLE customer(customerID INT, name VARCHAR(99))
INSERT INTO customer VALUES(1,'Eric')
INSERT INTO customer VALUES(2,'Nelson')
CREATE TABLE orders(orderID INT,customerID INT)
INSERT INTO orders VALUES(1,1);
INSERT INTO orders VALUES(2,1)
INSERT INTO orders VALUES(3,2)
INSERT INTO orders VALUES(4,2)
CREATE TABLE orderDetails(orderID INT,item VARCHAR(99))
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(1,'APPLE1')
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(1,'BANANA1')
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(2,'APPLE2')
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(2,'BANANA2')
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(3,'APPLE3')
INSERT INTO orderDetails VALUES(3,'BANANA3')

Does table STPOX contain parent-child relationship between components
Hello
I need to get a list of components of SO BOM.
FM CS_BOM_EXPL_KND_V1 exports an output table STPOX.
Does this table contain parent-child relationship between components? If yes , can somebody tell me which fields contain parent child id.
thanksHi,
STPOX is not a table, it is a structure & hence there is no storing of data in a structure. The table which stores this info is STPO.
To get the link you can refer to STPO-STLNR & pass this value to MAST-STLNR, this way you can link the child with its parent.

Insert Record with Parent/Child Tables doesn't work with Oracle - unlike AC
Hi,
I just Migrated a MS Access 2010 Database to an Oracle 11g Backend with the SQL Developer Tool.
The Migration went fine, all the Tables and Views are migrated.
I'm working with MS Access as Frontend.
The application has some Datasheets with Subdatasheets with Parent/Child Relationship. (1-n Relationship)
After changing to Oracle, it's not possible, to Insert a new Record in a Subdatasheet I always get the following Error Message:
"The Microsoft Access database engine cannot find a record in the table 'xxxx' with key matching field(s) 'zzzzz'"
It used to work perfect with the MS Access Backend, do I need a trigger which first adds the child Record ?
Or what should I do?
Thank youHi Klaus,
Thanks for your answer. I still haven't solved my problem. The only way would be to use a singel 1:n Relationship, but in fact I need a n:m Relationship.
I tried the same scenario with a new Access Application, same result.
To clearify my problem.
Goal: Parent Form with Parent Records, Linked Child Form with Child Records in a Datasheet View => Insert of a NEW Child Record.
I have 3 Tables (table1 = Parent tabel, table2 = Child Table, table12 = n:m Tabel with PK and two FK)
The Recordsource of the Parent Form is Tabel1
The Recordsource of the Child Form is Table2 joined with Table12.
In my Old Access Project, Access Triggered the Insert and filled Table12 with the NEW PK of Table2.
It seems like Access can't do that anymore....
I'm pretty desperate and I'm sure it is just a litte thing to fix..... -
How to Differentiate between Parent & child item of material determination
Hi Experts
I have a list of material & the Business requirement is to found that whether a material is a Parent material , Child material or Both ( a parent to other children and a child to another parent).
I tried using table KONDD & KONDDP but I was not able to differeniate between Parent & Child item.
I even cant use item category to diferentaite the two as by item categairy i can only find that it is a Prent material but cant find whether this material is a Child material or not.
Is there any table in which i can enter the Parent material & the output would be child material or any other table which contain both parent & child material.
Note : In Material determination ( VB11) , the material which is entered is Parent material & the material with which it would be replaced is Child material.
Kindly Guide.
Thanks in AdvanceHi
The wording of Parent and Child sounds like using a BOM material. In material determination...these two items can be called as Material entered and material determined or Main Item and Sub Item.
In the sales order overview screen...at line item level check the field 'HLvItem' (Higher Level Item). It will show the POSNR of the main item to which this item is linked. Since this can also happen in the case of free goods and BOM...you have make another check for these items with the item category.
If the substitue material is not determined as a sub item... you can check the material number in the field 'Material Entered' in the sales tab of the item and compare the material number with that exists in the VBAP-MATNR. If both are different, then this material can be considered as a determined material.
Thanks,
Ravi -

Edited by: 914626 on Mar 4, 2012 10:17 PMThanks for the thoroughness. There was a mistake in moving the code over for the forum. The field names are correct throughout the original source code.
BASE_OBJECT_ID is used throughout.
I suspect the problem lies in the one-to-many sampleItem(s) relationship that is based upon the subclassed item class. (The relationship is actually "sampleItems" in the real code and somehow got changed in the move over.)
The problem may lie in the mapping of the attribute override in the child class to the referencing of the item class from the parent side of the relationship in the Sample class.
I further suspect this may be specific to Eclipselink based upon other postings I've seen on the web that have similar problems...
Any thoughts?

Whether its possible to transfer the characteristics values of the batch from parent materia (MOM Materials)l to Child Materials
Edited by: Mayank MEHROTRA on Jul 30, 2010 2:19 PMHi Mayank,
We had the same issue in one project. What we did, we develped a z- transaction and program for that.
We had child batches, for eg, 1234561,1234562,1234563,1234564. here the mother batch is 123456. so we recorded value for this mother batch in MSC1N. In developed z transaction, we had a field called "mother batch" and next two fields as "from child batch" and "to child batch". So make entry in these fields and execute. Data will be populated automatically.
Sit with a good ABAPer, he will be able to develop the same. -

Regards,
MeghaI think what you need is recursive CTE
Consider your table below
create table basetable
(PARENT_OBJ varchar(10),
PAREBT_OBJ_TYPE varchar(10),
DESCEN_OBJ varchar(10),DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE varchar(10))
INSERT basetable(PARENT_OBJ,PAREBT_OBJ_TYPE,DESCEN_OBJ,DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE)
VALUES('JOB_A','JOB','WF_1','WORKFLOW'),
('JOB_A','JOB','DF_1','DATAFLOW'),
('WF_1','WORKFLOW','DF_2','DATAFLOW'),
('DF_1','DATAFLOW','ADF_1','ADF'),
('JOB_B','JOB','WF_2','WORKFLOW'),
('JOB_B','JOB','WF_3','WORKFLOW'),
('WF_2','WORKFLOW','DF_3','DATAFLOW'),
('WF_3','WORKFLOW','DF_4','DATAFLOW'),
('DF_4','DATAFLOW','ADF_2','ADF')
ie first create a UDF like below to get hierarchy recursively
CREATE FUNCTION GetHierarchy
@Object varchar(10)
RETURNS @RESULTS table
PARENT_OBJ varchar(10),
DESCEN_OBJ varchar(10),
DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE varchar(10)
AS
BEGIN
;With CTE
AS
SELECT PARENT_OBJ,DESCEN_OBJ,DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE
FROM basetable
WHERE PARENT_OBJ = @Object
UNION ALL
SELECT b.PARENT_OBJ,b.DESCEN_OBJ,b.DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE
FROM CTE c
JOIN basetable b
ON b.PARENT_OBJ = c.DESCEN_OBJ
INSERT @RESULTS
SELECT @Object,DESCEN_OBJ,DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE
FROM CTE
OPTION (MAXRECURSION 0)
RETURN
END
Then you can invoke it as below
SELECT * FROM dbo.GetHierarchy('JOB_A')
Now you need to use this for every parent obj (start obj) in view
for that create view as below
CREATE VIEW vw_Table
AS
SELECT f.*
FROM (SELECT DISTINCT PARENT_OBJ FROM basetable r
WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1
FROM basetable WHERE DESCEN_OBJ = r.PARENT_OBJ)
)b
CROSS APPLY dbo.GetHierarchy(b.PARENT_OBJ) f
GO
This will make sure it will give full hieraracy for each start object
Now just call view as below and see the output
SELECT * FROM vw_table
Output
PARENT_OBJ DESCEN_OBJ DESCEN_OBJ_TYPE
JOB_A WF_1 WORKFLOW
JOB_A DF_1 DATAFLOW
JOB_A ADF_1 ADF
JOB_A DF_2 DATAFLOW
JOB_B WF_2 WORKFLOW
JOB_B WF_3 WORKFLOW
JOB_B DF_4 DATAFLOW
JOB_B ADF_2 ADF
JOB_B DF_3 DATAFLOW

Incorrect query forms in parent child relation
Hello
I am using jdev of RUP3 (Release 4) which is 11.1.1.6.2 and have following scenario
I have a ParentVO (ProfileVO) and a child VO(CreditReceiversVO) (child VO is basically extended from another VO not in this application and included as a jar library).
There a VL between ParentVO and ChildVO 1:* with two attributes ord_id and rule_id
On UI these two VO instances are dropped as parent child and I get exception on running page in logs saying RuleAssignementEO.ORG_ID invalid identifier.
