I have a table in MySQL, where each record contains the name of the .XML file in a field.
I need to open the .XML file and load relevant data into a specific field for record 1, then repeat for record 2, until all records are filled with the data from the various .XML files. As an example from the above .XML code, I want to extract the BOLD information and get it into fields called:
os, cpu, ram, mobo, graphics, hard_drives, etc.
How to do that? Not a trivial task, but one that could be done by writing a script that queries the database to get the XML filename and the record's primary key.
You can then use SimpleXML to open the XML file, extract the values that you need, and store them in variables. Use the variables and primary key to build a SQL query to update the record with the data you have extracted. -

Can't import XML data into my databse-connected PDF form
Hi All
Excellent forum, and thanks for all the revealing insights so far viewed, however one question.I'm using a PDF form to collect info via email in the format of XML datafiles. I also have an identical PDF which has database connectivity and that works fine. It was suggested on this forum that I could then import the XML data into my Database via the DB-connected PDF, in effect a user form and one with DB connectivity. Now, I've checked the data types and they all match, but when I import XML file, it creates a blank record in the database and none of the information is carried through. Please could someone offer guidance on what I'm doing wrong, I've been trying to figure this out for a week now?
Thanks
SteppeMaybe it's because I'm replying by email, so I'll try the forums directly;

Xml data into non-xml database.. solution anyone?
Hi,
My current project requires me to store the client's data on our servers. We're using Oracle9i. Daily, I will download the client's data for that day and load it into our database. My problem is that the data file is not a flat file so I can't use sql*loader to load the data. Instead, the data file is an xml file. What is the best way to load xml data into a non-xml database? Are there any tools similar to sql*Loader that will load xml data into non-xml database? Is it the best solution for the client to give me an XML dump of their data to load into our database, or should I request a flat file? My last resort would be to write some sort of a script to parse the xml data into a flat file, and then run it through sql*loader. Is this the best solution? One thing to note is that these files could be very large.
Thanks in advance.
-PVI assume that just putting the XML file into an
extremely large VARCHAR field is not what you want.
Instead, you want to extract data elements from the
XML and write them to columns in a table in your
database. Right?Yes. Your assumption is correct.
It sounds like you already have a script that loads a
flat file into your database. In that case I would
write an XSL transformation that converts the client's
XML into a correctly-formatted flat file.Thank you. I'll look into that. Other suggestions are welcome. -
Hi,
I need to load the xml data into the relational tables. I was trying to use a DOM parser, but the thing is that i had to hard code the element node values to match the columns in the tables, and in later stage if there is change to the xml i have to change my program and recompile, i want a more flexible solution, where in i can parse the data and load into database without much changes. I do not know how to accomplish this. I have searched on this topic, but could not find a clear solution anywhere. Can anybody suggest a solution to this.
Thanks & regards.For which database?
With the Oracle database an XML document may be stored in a database with the XML SQL (XSU) utility.
1. Create a table in the database with columns corresponding to the elements in the XML document.
2. With the XSU store the XML document. The attributes in the XML document do not get stored.
3. To store the attributes also, apply an XSLT to the XML document and convert the attributes to elements. -

How to insert encrypted data by using blowfish into mysql database
Hi
I have encrypted data using blowfish algorithm . And i tried to insert that encrypted data into mysql. it was stored but i dont know that it stores in the same encrypted formate
When i am trying to get the encrypted data from the mysql database and decrypting that data i am getting errors.
Exception are like
input length should be multiple of 8 bits
or Given block are not properly padded
and when i am displaying the data using system.out.println ();
the string is not similar to the string which is in database.
what is the problem how can i solve my problem
thank youIt sounds like your column is a VARCHAR so you need to Base64 or Hex encode the cipertext bytes before putting them in the database.

Hi,
I recently purchased The Dreamweaver developer toolbox, and I thought there was a behavior to import an XML file into a database (because dreamweaver bought interakt software http://www.interaktonline.com/Products/Dreamweaver-Extensions/XMLImport-Export/Statement/ )
But now I see it isn't possible anymore.
Is there someone who can help me to find a decent extention (php/mysql) to import an external xml into mysql database?
Kind Regards,
BertelNot DW extensions, but plenty of classes to do it at...

Import Xml data into Core Data
Hi im very new here, im trying to find a tutorial to import a xml data into a core data and so i can publish it in a tableview
Can somebody help me??
thanksHi,
If you have already have the xml data then you need to parse the XML data (Using NSXMLParser Class), After parsing the data we need to maintain arrays to store this XML content. After getting the arrays with fully parsed data, you have to store this data in our Local Database (Core Data). May be it helps for you.
