Part of website corrupt when publishing

Hi, New to forum. I've designed a website using iweb08, and been using it happily for about 8 month, but all of a sudden when publishing website to folders for upload, part of the website corrupts. I've uploaded the site www.bespokebarbeque.co.uk
bascially all works as wanted apart from the menu section.
Any help would be apreciated, as its been driving me mad for ages now.
Cheers

This happened to me too - but with my images. If your corruption is along the same lines Its because your images are too large. Resize them to the smallest possible, rename and then drag and drop again and you should be sorted

  • Hyperlink path corrupted when publish

At the end of a blog I've embedded a hyperlink to a pdf. iWeb establishes the path itself when I "Choose" the correct file (which I've placed in the Entries folder where it seems to insist on looking for it).
If I make the link active while still in iWeb, it won't open the pdf. It seems to be looking in the Domain file (~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/[pdf file name]).
If I publish it to a folder (kept somewhere in the Documents folder-I get tired of it always residing on the desktop-figured it doesn't matter where I put it) then look at it in my browser, I get, "File Not Found" with this path: /Users/asdteacher/Documents/School/School Website/Manila/PTA/Entries/2008/3/5%E2%80%9CMarch%E2%80%9D_Into_a_New_Monthfiles/March001-5.pdf. I get the identical result when the site is ftp'd to the web server and I try to link to the pdf from the published page.
One oddity is the continued addition to the pdf's name as if more and more copies are building up somewhere. The above version you'll notice has "-5" at the end. The original pdf (and as it seems to appear on the server) is simply "March001.pdf". Over the course of my working on it today it has grown from -1 clear up to the current -5. ?#*!?
On the server where this is published the enclosing folder is named (at least as I view it using CyberDuck, my ftp application): 5“March”_Into_a_New_Monthfiles
I'm wondering if the translation from English characters ("March") into the web symbols (%E2%80%9CMarch%E2%80%9D) is throwing it off?
I've worked on this several hours now. Seems this used to work quite well but I notice that my older pdf links are also dead ends. (http://manila.alpinedistrict.org/Welcome.html)
Any pointers or ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

It may not be the problem, but it would be better not to have that stuff there. The reason it is present is that you have used curly quotes around March. Change them to straight quotes and republish. Uncheck the box for smart quotes in Preferences > Auto Correction.

  • Imovie 11 looks fine in project view but is corrupted when published

I'm a very adept user of imovie and have quickly picked up imovie11. I have made several movies that all use the same title sequence.
When I publish them (I've tried youtube, itunes, media browser and mobile me) one of them posts just as I created it. The other two have seriously corrupt opening sequences (I have a transition, text/title screen and music in the opening sequence - not complicated).
The opening sequence is scrambled... a bunch of broken horizontal images... then plays the rest of the movie just fine. Help!

You can copy and paste clips between project, but not all the settings, etc.
To reuse a title sequence, I would suggest that you take the good project. Select it in the Project Library List. Then FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT. Give the Duplicate a name and trim off everything but the opening sequence. You can then use this as a template when starting other projects.
If you need the sequence in an existing project, I would render the template you made above in Apple Intermediate Codec. You can then import this back into iMovie as an Event clip. Then you can use this in those existing movies.
If you are already doing it this way, let me know.

  • My Website Looks Nothing Like It Should When Published

I recently updated my website and when I published the updates, it changed everything.  It is a mess.  What do I do?
    The site is http://www.mokeemotel.net

Sorry I forgot to add that http://www.mokeemotel.net is only one of the pages.
    The other one is http://www.motelmokee.com
The .com site is still jumbled up.  The .net site is working as it should now.

  • Website doesnt not display as it should when published to business catalyst

I have just uploaded my website created through muse via Business Catalyst, I have also made the website live. However when I go to via via thdawkinsphotography.businesscatalyst.com  the site doesnt appear the same with what I uploaded.  The title is smaller that it supposed to be.
Here is how it should look.
This is how it looks when published through Business Catalyst when made live.
The top picture is how it also looks when previewed in Muse CC (2014)
I am not sure why my site is displayed differently through Business Catalyst but I had moved from my original hosted site to business catalyst due to not being able to upload my site to the server via ftp as well as the site kept timing out, so I decided to use my Creative Cloud included webhosting through business catalyst.
Can anyone help with this please. Is it a bug with Muse CC (2014) or Business Catalyst webhosting.

After carefull investigations my original webhosting server is obviously having some major problems at present.  However I cannot see why hosting my site with Business Catalyst has reduced my Main Master page title size.   The width of the title should be longer than the length of the menu bar.  But it not and it obvious adobe have no idea on why its happen, and thats maybe why I havent heard from them.  As a result of this I will have to go and fork out more money to get webhosting  elsewhere which will allow me to upload my website through MUSE CC (2014).
I ask that if an adobe staff members reads this, please address this issue, as I need a webhosting service that will display my website correctly and business catalyst just doesnt cut to the chase.  Everything that was working fine for me in Muse CC is no longer working for me in Muse CC (2014).
Is there a way to revert my website back to Muse CC after opening it and editing it in Muse CC (2014).

  • Photo gallery not displaying when published to .mac

    Hey,
I'm having some trouble publishing my photo gallery. I do not want to publish it as a web gallery from iPhoto then link to it with iWeb. What I want to do is to send a gallery from iPhoto into iWeb, and have it published as part of the website. When I send a gallery over to iWeb, it loads up great, and I have all the functionality that one would expect when doing this so by all indications, it will load up great on my .mac account. When I publish the website, it does say that it is publishing the photo gallery page, but the issue is that none of my galleries ever show up! I do not know what to do, I have tried completely deleting the photo gallery page and remaking it in case I did something wrong in the design somewhere, but it still does not load up. If I link in a web gallery, it does show up, but, again, that is not what I want to do. I am at a loss for what may be causing the error. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Heather

Publishing a iPhotoalbum to iWeb is the same as dragging the album from the media browser to iWeb.
When I send a gallery over to iWeb, it loads up great, and I have all the functionality that one would expect when doing this so by all indications, it will load up great on my .mac account.
When I publish the website, it does say that it is publishing the photo gallery page, but the issue is that none of my galleries ever show up!
What is it? Does it upload great to dotMac or doesn't it?
There's only one thing to do. Publish it. No need to upload. iWeb takes care of that.
It helps if you provide a URL to said page.

  • Captivate 8 crashes when publish "near CD quality" audio

When publishing a project using "Near CD quality" in the size/quality settings, Captivate 8 crashes midway through the publishing process.  I can split the project in 2 parts and it will publish successfully.  I am running Captivate as an administrator.  My system:  Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 8 GB DDRS RAM, GeForce GT755M, Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB (125GB available)

It appears, looking through the crash log, that this particular project/file has become corrupted so...
I would suggest you use the Selective Track Import feature in Logic and see how much of it you can rescue...

  • Why do my fonts turn out different when published?

On one of my pages I have the font handwriting dakota and when I view it on the internet it is arial. What do I do?

Hi David - when publishing a website on the internet you need to use 'standard' web fonts.
This is because the fonts are not 'embedded' in your webpages - the people viewing your website need to have the same font(s) installed on their computer as the ones you have used in your website for it to appear the same. If you use a non-standard font (such as Dakota) they will more than likely not have it installed on their machine and will see a substitute font instead (e.g. Arial, or Times).
'Standard' fonts are those common fonts which come installed as part of the operating system, be it Mac OS or Windows, and the list is fairly limited. Here's a link to a handy page listing them.
If using a non-standard font is crucial to the design of your website, then you need firstly to save the text in your particular font as an image file e.g .gif or .jpg, and then insert that image into the layout of your page as necessary - this way anybody's web browser around the world is simply displaying an image file and it doesn't matter at all whether they have the font installed on their machine or not.
    Hope this helps?

  • How do I get the RSS feeds to work in iWeb'08 when published to FTP server?

There are so many unresolved questions because I have published to an FTP server (Netfirms). HOWEVER, my next task at hand is to resolve the issue of a non-working RSS feed and download capabilities.
    The published website is www.vibrationalvoyages.com.
When using Cyberduck to upload to Netfirms, I have to call the file name vibrationalvoyages.com because Netfirms organizes my files under a main folder called www (I also purchased the .org and .net extensions along with the singular spelling of the title, have forwarded those url's to the .com extension, which means I have different website names under Netfirm's main folder www, all pointing to www.vibrationalvoyages.com).
I have to drop the www. in front of vibrationalvoyages.com when publishing to a folder on my computer so, when Cyberduck uploads the files into the main www folder, they are read correctly and published as www.vibrationalvoyages.com. In Cyberduck, the ftp address to upload is vibrationalvoyage.netfirms.com
Before uploading, I use iTweak to insert the Statcounter tracking codes. Then, I use Rage to optimize the site to cut down on the weight (lots of photos). Then, finally, I get to upload which takes about an hour and a half.
SO, HOW DO I GET THE RSS FEEDS TO WORK AS WELL AS THE OPTION TO DOWNLOAD AN MP3 RECORDED MEDITATIONS? I eventually also want to include the download option of podcasts.
Please help! I am doing the best I can to stay in love with Mac but he is turning out to be a pot load of work and the love affair is wearing a little thin.
I haven't even asked about why iWeb still calls some pages 'The family picnic" or why it switches the url addresses to the individual pages. Probably because in the early stages, I copied an entry rather than just do a new one... but I'll worry about that later. I want to get this 'fixed' first and then I'll address the issue, following Roddy's advice to another writer about installing a flash player, for easy download of the MP3 meditations and for when I record the lessons as podcasts. Until I get this RSS issue resolved, however, podcast downloads are out of the question!

    Thank you for checking, Tom,
I'm confused. What do YOU get when you push the feed button? And why is it working on yours and not either of my machines?
Today, my Mac (w/Safari 4) gets the same error message: Safari can’t open the page Safari can’t open the page “feed:http://vibrationalvoyages/vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml”. The error is: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.”
My little ASUS (with a Linux operating system) gets a screen that says "The requested URL was not found". The URL on that page is http://vibrationalvoyages./vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml
On both error messages, the URL I was checking was:
    http://www.vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_and_Applications/Divine_Light_Vibrations_Principles_ andApplications.html
The last URL was, of course, the URL generated by iWeb.
    So, my question still is:
HOW CAN I GET MY FEEDS TO WORK PROPERLY? If the problem is there shouldn't be an http:// after feed: then, how do I get iWeb to set it up properly?
    Any ideas?

  • How I fixed an "unkown error" problem when publishing to .Mac

I recently experienced the "unknown error" when attempting to publish my iWeb sites to my .mac account. The error popped up early in the publishing operation, on a site that I had published many times before. I looked around in my iWeb domain folder, and noticed this file:
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites/cached_resources/configuration.apple.com/configuratio ns/internetservices/iapps/publishConfiguration.plist
Looking at the content (it contains XML data), it was obvious that the file was corrupt, with some data at the end missing. Maybe something went wrong when it was written. As it is in a directoy called "cached_resources", I figured, iWeb should be able to recreate it. So I quit iWeb, removed the file, restarted iWeb. Voila, the file was recreated, without corruption, and publishing works again without a hitch.

    Might the error be -50?

  • Muse site not displaying correctly when 'Published' to BC

    Hi all
Strange incidents happening with a Muse site I'm designing for a client. When I use the Publish feature (which uploads the site to the default Business Catalyst domain you get with the Muse subscription) it throws  the elements all over the place, so buttons, type, imaegry and widgets aren't wheere they should be.
I've cleared the cache, restarted the browser, tried in other browsers and still the same result, so pretty unhappy.
When I 'Preview' the site in a browser everything seems perfect.
Bizarre thing is when designing my first ste the opposite was the case; lots of visual problems when using 'Preview' but perfect when 'Published' to BC.
Anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening?
    All help appreciated

    Hi gaurav
Thanks for the reply, think we have the solution. Apparantly Muse is not uploading the updated CSS files. I created a test domain on my own website to use for this project and uploaded via Fetch and everything worked fine.
So it looks like it's an issue with Muse

  • All hyperlinks are not working when published

All of the links work on iweb 09; however, when published some of the links are not working. To get an idea of what I mean you can go to the site, thinkwhatif.org and see it. Would someone be able to provide an answer how to solve it? I have unlinked and relinked too and that didn't work (at least the one time I did it).
Thanks in advance for helping me figure it out.
    I am learning..

    Bonjour,
It's a layout issue. Two of your buttons (who or what) are in the navigation part of your page (nav_layer), which is back layer of your page. In your page, the content (body_layer) overlays the bottom of this layer (nav_layer) where the buttons are.
Show layout (iWeb > View > Show layout) and replace the buttons in the content. As you can see , you 've got also a empty textbox in the content

  • Published software simulation not displaying correctly when published

    Hello,
When viewing a Captivate 6 software simulation either through the Preview mode or when published, screens will 'break up' at different points - part of the previous screen will stay in view when it moves to the next screen. This doesn't happen for the first couple of times it is viewed, which is a worry as you never know who/when it is going to happen.
Once the projects is copied over to a new blank project it will be fine for a few views and then do the same again - it is not always at the same place.
Does anyone know what may be causing this?
    Thanks,

You might try de-selecting the Advanced Project Compression option in the preferences:

  • IWeb movie pages, when published -- no movies

my iWeb movie pages, when published, came up lame, no movies, only areas where the movies should have been, all with faint Q's with question marks inside them
LONG STORY SHORT, MAKE SURE YOUR MOVIES (as well as being located in your MAC HD and its proper MOVIE sidebar, that you CUT AND PASTE all your MEDIA YOU'RE USING IN YOUR iWeb SITE,
CUT AND PASTE PHOTOS, MOVIES in dupe form right into your desktop where you've published your iWEB site folder.......that way, any browser, a .mac or outside web host, can locate your media better so that you don't get GHOST MEDIA PUBLISHING LIKE I DID...hopefully this will help both of us
ALSO, in any iWeb website (named SITE in your desktop, or iDisc, or whatever or wherever you publish it, or even if you can find where on earth on your HD it is published, remember, if you have any MEDIA at all, NOTE IN MY CASE MEDIA MEANS MOVIES (not photos, so I'm not speaking to the photo blogs people, only iWeb MOVIE folks) anyway, all the compressed poetry video clips are right there, in a separate folder called MEDIA, that is every iWeb site, when published to .mac or a folder, which contains movies in .mp4 format or .mov format, all these will appear right in your site's MEDIA FOLDER....
this is important as a concept....
also, if you're using an outside web host like me (so that all my movies will LOAD QUICKLY), don't forget when FTP'ing (file transfer protocol'ing) your iWeb changes to your web host from your original MAC HD folder....remember to also send to the FTP/outside web host your MEDIA folder inside your SITE
(which i only realized a couple hours ago, and which totally was a revelation, so i'm passing it along to you guys)....
if you'd like to know exactly what i do here in nyc, i video the poetry scene, now for 20 years, and create educational poetry DVDs.... and my website is today's equivalant of operating a virtual business.....
....oh-oh, since I video poetry in NYC and go direct into a standalone DVD recorder to make single tracks of each poem...and then through Popcorn's mp4 program, I can make a movie file
then..through QuickTime Pro's streaming compression system, reduce that file size to under 5 MBs,
well, after lots of headaches, i am able to have 200 streaming video clips on an iWeb site, which apple itself said was impossible, that iWeb was only geared for less ambitious projects
okay, so that is cool..until yesterday, when i began the whole process again with completely new poetry video clips....
first, the iWeb pages were designed correctly...that took time....then i published the new pages to .mac, and only some of the movies showed up on the published pages, some had a big bright Q (which means the browser identifies the movie and will within 20 seconds load that movie), but what wracked my brain all day and night yesterday, why were there areas where the browser only showed the faint Q/Question mark inside (meaning the browser cannot find the movie)
    so what the.....!
also i'm going from an iWed Folder to an FTP so I can use an outside web host and bypass THE MUCH SLOWER .mac browser (too slow when using movie clips for visitor to your site having to wait valuable seconds for **** movie to appear...with outside web host process almost immediate)
    .....any similar experiences?

I am having the same problem.
Now I am using iWeb 2.03. So when I uploaded the site to my server I see the Media folder you were talking about, and the videos are there. But when I go to the website I still get the faint Q with the question mark.
    Here is my site. http://mnorland.dadeschools.net
The videos are supposed to be in the Athletics page, then go to football highlights.
    Any help would be appreciated.
