Partial import

I have an issue in that FCE is only importing 21 minutes of my 24 minute clip.
My original clip was shot as an h.264, so I converted it using quicktime pro 7. The converted file plays (in its entirety) on all my computers, however its only when importing to Final Cut that I have the issue.
Can anyone recommend whats going wrong?

What frame rate was used when recording and what frame rate was used in the conversion?

Dear all,
I have oracle 8i installed on windows server 2000. I have a valid export file (ful database). when am trying to import, am getting the error :
IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file
IMP-00028: partial import of previous table rolled back: 9464 rows rolled back
Import terminated successfully with warnings.
But, the export file is a valid one as the same script is used to take export daily. the log file of export shows the export is completed successfully with out any warnings.
Have anyone faced this problem before ?.. I tried importing into 9i DB and getting the same error ?

When exporting and then importing Apple Mail from one mac to another I get "Some messages could not be imported. Partially imported mailbox will be labeled IMPORT" . That mailbox does not appear.

This is a bug in Mail. The mailbox archiving function does not include attachments, which gives the error with the import. To workaround this you can create a mailbox in Mail and copy to it all emails you want to export. Then go in Finder to [user]/Library/Mail/Mailboxes en select the created mailbox. Copy this to the public directory of your other mac. Then start Mail on that other mac and import the mailbox from the public directory. Should work now.

Word Document only partially imports into iPad Pages

When I import pages from word documents my dropbox into iPad Pages only the first page imports. The rest is blank. This does not happen with QuickOffice, but I prefer to use Pages as QuickOffice is prone to crashes! Can anyone help me with this?

Symptom :
When embedding a pdf document into a Crystal Report, only the one page shows.

Embed multiple objects, one for each page

Lightroom 5.4 Canon partial import problem (CR2s)

Hello,
I have Lightroom 5.4 on a Windows 8.1 system x64. My camera is a Canon 50D that's several years old.( i.e. not a brand new camera import problem)
When I plug my camera into my computer via the USB cable and try to import images into a Lightroom catalog, Lightroom will recognize and import jpgs, but it does not even see CR2 files. No errors, no thumbnails. It's like they are not there. If I capture a single image as both a jpg and CR2 simultaneously it will only see the jpg and not the CR2.
If I open the Canon EOS Utility it sees any and all images (CR2's included).
I've read a few posts so to help narrow it down:
1) I have write access to the folder (b/c I can import the jpgs.).
2) My Windows system does not recognize the CR2 files in an exporer window if they are still on the camera (to be specific, it sees that there are files, just not the type and no thumbnail. Not even a properties option with right click). I can't pull the files directly off the camera with my computer only with the Canon app. I have the latest camera codec pack put out by Microsoft KB2899190 from 12/9/2013.
3) Once the CR2's are on my computer via the Canon EOS app they are viewable in Expolorer (thumbnails) and can be imported into Lightroom.
4) I have cleared and reformatted the flash card (more than once). Rebooted and powered down the PC and Camera multiple times (removed camera batt. and Unplugged PC).
5) As of time of this post Lightroom is up to date.
I believe there is some communication issue with my camera and this particular PC setup. My wife's computer does not have this issue (she has Vista). When she plugs in the camera the thumbnails pop up in an explorer window for her right away.

Yes, for many people. Recent versions of Lightroom in particular seem to be quite fickle when trying to import directly from camera, and the "fix" in virtually all cases is to use a card reader.

AVCHD files only partially importing to imovie11.

I have a panasonic V720 camcorder and imovie11 and am trying to import AVCHD files into imovie. Most of the clips have imported successfully but a selected group seem to require the camcorder to be conected for them to play. When the camcorder is unplugged the clips do not play and simply display "Missing Camera" rather than the video. when scrolled over the clip present a message which says "the media for this clip is still on the camera. to begin importing select "reimport from camera/archive..." from the file menu. There is nothing in the file menu which gives this option other than the import option which does display the clips to be imported, but when I select import all the window closes immediately and nothing has changed. I made a trailer from these clip and they all worked fine, but when I try to use them in a movie they will not play.
Any suggestions would be really great as I would really like to get this movie finished before February.

The choice is yours.
You can use them natively or convert to ProRes.
Some people claim that ProRes will give better quality if you intend to do lots of colour correcting but you probably won't notice much difference.

Partial import of clips

When using a tape-based camera and the upgraded version of iMovie '11, why do some clips that are imported appear in the library, and others do not? I got "import was successful" message, yet I have only the first 5-10 minutes worth (of approximately 45 mins) of my clips. Are the rest somewhere else in the computer, or do I need to re-import? This has happened at least 6-8 times, and i keep re-importing--2-3 minutes at a time--until I can see all the clips in the library. But it is getting very frustrating. I never had this problem before the upgrade. I have tried looking in finder, but I see only the clips that also appear in the event folder of the library.

Glad that you have a workaround. Though my conversion software is almost 100%, there are those times. Why PrE can do it correctly, and PrPro cannot is a mystery. I have done all that I can think of to find the difference, but just cannot see it. Gotta' be there someplace.
As for PrE handling Assets, that do not work on PrPro, it is a consumer program, and is probably more lenient, than is PrPro. Afterall, it could Import from VOB two generations before PrPro could, though there were still some issues, but these were due to the formation of the VOB's and what they contained. A badly formed VOB still give either program fits.
Good luck, and we'll both just use PrE, when necessary.

I need to import some specific nodes from a large XML file, into an Oracle table, containing columns not necessarily labeled identical to the XML nodes.
Can it bee done from within HTMLDB?

Arie,
You can certainly upload files with HTML DB, search the forum for file upload. Once you uploaded your XML file, you can parse it and process it however you want using Oracleâs XML DB features. You can post XML DB specific questions here:

Partial import from Canon HF100

When I import from the HF100 one of the files only imports 20s of a 2:09min file. iMovie says it is importing 2:09min and takes over 4 min to do so. All the other files seem to import fine. The file plays back fine in camera. I have tried usb card reader and direct import from the camera with the same results. The card is a class 6 sdhc card. I am using the latest iMovie update on a current generation iMac 2.8.
Any help would be appreciated.

Partial import of vob files

I am having an issue with importing VOB files from some Canon Mini-DVD cameras. I have 3 cameras, two different models. When I do an import of the VOB files, I get just the first 5 to 10 seconds of the whole file. I can import these same files into Elements with no problems, but I'm wanting to switch over to PP because of all of the other abilities.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is only seeing the first 10 seconds of the VOB files? I have read through quite a few of the threads here and found one that was doing a "copy" of all of the VOB files into one VOB file. I tried that, and it to only brings in 10 seconds.
It just seems strange that it works in Elements 7.x, but not in Premiere Pro 4.1.
As an option, if I wanted to export the files out of Elements and put them into PP, what would be the best format / settings to use to maintain the highest possible quality?

Partially Importing CD songs

Just got my IPOD 60GB,
When I try to import a CD into the library it only imports the first few seconds of each song, then moves onto the next one.
Any Ideas?

ITunes8 - Partially importing videos

Strange behavior, some mpg files are imported some are not. All not imported files can be played in WMP, Nero or Miro.
1. When trying to open it up with QuickTime Player, it produces an message:
Error -2048: Couldn't open the file.mpg because it is not a file that QuickTime understands.
2. None of my .avi or .vob files get imported either.
This is a defective software. Not only the GUI, but many of its logics are at least to say, absurd. It produces a lots of Runtime Errors, like:
Line: 603
Error: 'AC.Detector' is null or not an object
Line: 4045
Error: 'tinyMCE' is undefined
Its a shame, a fraud to bring such untested software on the market. The iTouch was expensive enough, that such things should not happen. While posting this message, it shows a PC Model I used 3 years ago.

Can imovie import my VHS tape thru my miniDVcam? I have set up my canon elura 60 to dv mode and have the correct cables attached (s-video out from my VCR onto my camera; audio out into my camera, and firewire from camera to iBook). I movie is acting erratically. It recognizes my camera and earlier today recognized the VHS recorder. (Samsung was animated in the screen). I hit play on the vhs and import on imovie, but no video or audio made it to the screen although the timer in imovie, in the first cell started running. I turned off the camera and tried again, but now imovie is saying that the camera has no tape. What's happening?

Import of BaseView to a different schema in database

Hi All,
We have developed some bam reports. Now the base view, meta view are referring to a schema name (say SchemaName1) in database.
In the plans we are using "SQL query" to get data from database. So we have queries like "Select SchemaName1.table1.column1 ... from ......".
Now we have taken a export of the base view, meta view ,plans and all other components of BAM.
All is fine till now... But now i need to import all these stuff in a different database. My problem is that in the new database instance i cannot use the same schema name (i.e. SchemaName1 ). I have a different schema name(say SchemaName2) there and i need to use that......There is no way i can use SchemaName1.
Will the import of Base view/Meta view/plans work or we need to do some configuration changes during import??
Do we have to create Base view for the new schema names from scratch or the imported code can be used??
The plans have sql queries referring to SchemaName1 but we need it to refer to the Other schema(SchemaName2 )...What is the possible way of referring to the new schema without developing the plan again??

Sarputil Export
1.     Start | Run, type sarputil
2.     Do a partial export. (Note down directory that will contain files to be exported.).
3.     Select your Baseview, Metaview, Security:Login Profile, and Plan. (Note, the check boxes are in front of each object name and might appear very light on some clients.)
4.     On the XML dialog and with the question on what you would like to do select Execute Now.
5.     Finish the wizard and from the directory noted above, verify .csv files were created. (Typically C:\OracleBAM\EnterpriseLink\Data\rp\export).
6.     Copy all .csv files and paste to different temporary folder on 2nd server.
Sarputil Import
1.     Start | Run, type sarputil on the 2nd server where youll import into.
2.     Partial import
3.     Under Repository Information dialog, set the Data Source information on the right and remember to change the directory now containing your .csv files.
4.     Like before, select Execute now and Finish the wizard.
Oracle BAM Admin
Modify connect string (host string or tns name) if you need to:
1.     Connect in Oracle BAM Admin
2.     Expand Baseviews and select the imported Baseview
3.     Check under Server on the left if the connect string is correct.
4.     If not, click Modify button and change.
Modify Baseview Login if you need to:
1.     With your Baseview still selected on the left side, click on Baseview Logins tab
2.     Logins on the left correspond to actual database user ids and password. Add a new Login with a database User ID and Password to access the new schema.
3.     Associate or Set the new Login (right) to the BAM User on the left.
Sarpbv Modification
Use sarpbv utility to change references of the old schema name to a new schema name.
General syntax for Oracle:
sarpbv /R"username:pwd:Oracle:TNS Name::DB UserID:DBUser pwd /B"BaseView name" /O"NewSchema"
**Use Capital letters for New Schema name!
**Notice 2 colons (::) after TNS Name (because you do not have a database name in Oracle).
1.     Open DOS
2.     Type your sarpbv command. Below is an example where I changed a Baseview called scott to use a new schema name called Jack.
sarpbv /R"sa::ORACLE:baminst::sagent:sagent" /B"scott" /O"JACK"
3.     Open Design Studio, locate the plan and check the SQL Query now reflects the new schema.
4.     Test the plan to ensure its pulling data correctly from the new schema.

Error while importing a container dump file

Hi,
I am trying to import a container from one Oracle Server to another server which are located at two different locations. I have exported the container from the first server and FTPed it to the second server and tried to import the same into the second server. While doing this, i got the following message:

I am able to import the same dump file into another server located in the same location as the Server One without any issues.
One thing that i have observed is: On the Server 2, if a container is already present and the XTSYS_ tables are already populated, when i tried to import this dump file, it asked me "Temporary tables are already populated. Do you want to overwrite them. Otherwise the existing temporaty tables will be used for this purpose". If i clicked No, then it imported the container without any problems, BUT, the new container contents are not the same as found on Server 1's container contents.
Can somebody suggest what could be the problem and how can i import that dump file.

There is a note <Note:160378.1> on the Oracle Support site: http://metalink.oracle.com.
There are a number of possibilities, the most likely of these is that you are using the wrong import/export utilities for an older or newer database version.
You don't mention which release of Designer you are using, Designer 9i uses the 9.0.1 export/import utilities by default. You cannot use the 9.0.1 export/import utilities against an 8.1.7 database.
If not already installed, install the 8.1.7 export/import utilities from the Oracle 8i Release 3 (8.1.7) Client Cd into a new Oracle Home.
In the Registry, change [hklm]\software\oracle\HOMEx\repos61\EXECUTE_EXPORT
and EXECUTE_IMPORT to point to the 8.1.7 export/import utitilites.
(HOMEx corresponds to your Designer 9i Oracle Home)
A typical value for them would be:
EXECUTE_EXPORT=d:\des_817\bin\exp.exe
EXECUTE_IMPORT=d:\des_817\bin\imp.exe
or
EXECUTE_EXPORT=d:\V817\bin\exp.exe
EXECUTE_IMPORT=d:\V817\bin\imp.exe
After changing the parameters in the Registry, verify if they are active by going into the Repository Administration Utility, Check Requirements,
Parameter Settings and look for EXECUTE_EXPORT and EXECUTE_IMPORT.

I just switched computers from one mac to another. How do I keep from importing all of my music library to the new mac?

I just switched to a MacBook from a different mac and I am trying to be careful of what I am importing (my old mac has all of my music and movies, etc). I don't want to clutter this new mac with duplicate songs etc. but I have a fairly extensive music library that is on my old mac that I would like to partially import. Is this a possibility? I currently use iMatch and the cloud as well.
