Pass form value to Destination URI

Hi ,
I have
Form Value: (CtDetRN.PerId)
Form Value: (CtDetRN.PPId)
when viewed the page view source

Now i need to pass the any of the above param in my url(personalization)
URL : OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/imc/ocong/party/person/webui/ImcPerProfile&ImcPartyId={@ASPKey_NtsRPId}&ImcMainPartyId=2886870
For ImcMainPartyId=2886870 i need to pass any of the form value(dynamically instead of hard coding the value).
I tried ImcMainPartyId={@PerId} and {@PPId}.
But it didnt work out.
any one help me for the ways of passing param of form value to url
thanks

so if the required params are not on my page then what should be the solution?
>>> You will have to get it somehow otherwise your solution is not feasible. Your approach or design is wrong. For going from one page to another, there should be some related data and if it is your custom pages, then there is something missing on your analysis.

• Passing form values to a Servlet

I am trying to pass form value to a servlet once the user presses the submit button. How can I get access to the form values?
Thanks

Try this in your servlet.
HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
System.out.println(request.getParameter("xxxxx").toString());
xxxx is the parameter name..
Doesn't this work?

• How to pass form value through URL?

I have a page set up so that pressing the submit on a form will execute a certain page. For certain reasons I also have a URL HREF link that performs a different function. I need to get the value of a radio button group (all with the same name) and pass that value through the URL if it is pressed. So if someone clicks on the second radio button in the list which has a value of 2, I need to somehow set that to a variable to pass through a URL link. Each time the user changes the radio button I need to dynamically change the variable too.
Is there any way to do this?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Here is what I have so far:
I have a cfInput that binds to the radio buttons so the value of the cfinput changes dynamically.
I have a CFDIV that binds to a separate .cfm page that passes the cfinput through as an argument.
The .cfm is very basic:
<cfoutput>
<cfif isdefined("url.InputText") AND url.InputText NEQ "">
<cfset FeedVar = #url.InputText#>
<cfelse>
</cfif>
</cfoutput>
This method appears to work and it sets the Feedvar variable to the appropriate value. However on my first page with the cfdiv tag when I try to pass the #FeedVar# variable through a URL it says it is not defined.
Any clue if I am doing something wrong passing the new variable back?
Here is the CFINPUT and CFDIV tags:
<cfinput type="text" name="update_typeURL" bind="{update_type}" bindonload="true" />
<cfdiv bind="URL:setURlVar.cfm?InputText={update_type}" ID="theDiv" bindonload="true"  />
Any ideas on how to read the newly set variable?

• Having trouble passing form values to a data action in 10G

I have a view object that queries the hr.departments table. In the app module, I created a custom method to bind a paramter to the query. I am able to make this work only if I manually enter a value for the paramsNames[0] value for the dataaction. When I run it with say the value of 1700, it returns the correct data (I run this by right-click and run on the dataaction that binds the valule).
What I want to do now is have a form on a jsp that looks like the following:
<html:form action="bindDeptLoc.do">
<input type="text" name="locationid"/>
<input type="submit" value="Submit"/>
</html:form>
.. pass the "locationid" value to the bindDeptLoc dataction for the binding. I noticed that J-Dev automatically created a default form bean called DataForm. I tried to add a form-property with the name of the form field (locationid), but that didn't work. I then tried to create another form bean called login and added the locationid form property to it and associated the form bean with the dataaction).
When I run this I get the following error:
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot find ActionMappings or ActionFormBeans collection
at org.apache.struts.taglib.html.FormTag.lookup(FormTag.java:798)
at org.apache.struts.taglib.html.FormTag.doStartTag(FormTag.java:506)
at untitled1.jspService(untitled1.jsp:13)
[untitled1.jsp]
It won't even load up the jsp form. Any help on this?

In the paramsNames[0] node instead of your fixed value use param.locationid which is the indicator to use the value from that field in the JSP.

• How to pass _ti value to javascript's window in Destination URI of Button

How to pass _ti value to javascript's window in personalization's Destination URI of a Button.
In Self-Service HR, under my benefit's final confirmation page, I added a new button,
when clicked would do a javascript alert saying "You have successfully completed your 2008 Benefit Enrollment Process". After clicking ok button, it takes to a printable page.
Here is my code in the Destination URI field
javascript:onClick=alert('You have successfully completed your 2008 Benefit Enrollment Process'); window.location='OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/ben/selfservice/enrollment/webui/EnrlConfPG&retainAM=Y&OARF=printable';
The alert works but after clicking ok, I get error.
Looks like it is expecting ti value in the URL and if I pass ti value like this, it works
window.location='OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/ben/selfservice/enrollment/webui/EnrlConfPG&retainAM=Y&OARF=printable&_ti=800699419'
But where do I get the real ti value? instead of hard-coded value, as ti is not constant and it changes for each login or session

Please help!
Thanks

Burkepm,
Two things:
1)Don't use .showModalDialog api of MSDN library, because its only applicable to modal dialog pages in IE.This api won't work on any other browser. Moreover,u will need to add
< base target="_self " />
under
tag of pop up page. This is required because imodal window api of javascript provided in MSDN would not be able to recognize its parent window with out this.
So,its not possible to close the pop up window and submit data to the base page form by submitting the page when we close the pop up.
You can OAF js function for openeing the pop up window.
2)Secondly, there is way to invoke js pop window function without setting profiles I have mentioned in my blog.This is basically through bound values, for ehich url is genaradted dybnamically, so there is no MAC key url validation.
Here is the code u need to use this code in process request.:
import oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.beans.nav.OAButtonBean;
import oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OABoundValueEmbedURL;
OAButtonBean btn = (OAButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("<button item id>");
String page= "/xxx/oracle/apps/XXX/abc/webui/xxxPg&retainAM=Y";
String destURL = APPS_HTML_DIRECTORY + OAWebBeanConstants.APPLICATION_JSP + "?"+ OAWebBeanConstants.JRAD_PAGE_URL_CONSTANT+ "=" + page;
OABoundValueEmbedURL jsBound = new OABoundValueEmbedURL(btn,"openWindow(self, '", destURL, "' , 'longTipWin', {width:"+900+", height:"+500+"}, true); return false;");

• Passing a value for date parameter from Oracle Forms to BIP

Hi
I have created a report with the following SQL query:
select
d_tables.d_seq,
to_date(d_tables.d_created) creation_date,
d_tables.d_created_by created_by,
d_tables.d_pk,
d_tables.table_name,
d_tables.comments
from
d_tables, d_applications
where
d_tables.d_ppk = d_applications.d_pk
and to_date(d_tables.d_created) >= nvl(:P_CRE_DATE_FROM, to_date(d_tables.d_created))
and to_date(d_tables.d_created) <= nvl(:P_CRE_DATE_TO, to_date(d_tables.d_created))
The parameters P_CRE_DATE_FROM and P_CRE_DATE_TO have been set up as date in BI Publisher with format dd-MMM-yyyy
The report works fine when launched in BI Publisher.
I want to call this report from Oracle Forms and I'm trying to pass the values for both the parameters. However, the report does not generate output based on values passed.
Does it have to do with datatype? Does anyone know a solution for this?
Kind regards,
Aparna

Thanks for your suggestion. I am already referring to the whitepaper and have integrated Forms with BI Publisher. The parameter passing is working fine for a varchar2 type of parameter. However, for a date type, there seems to be some problem.

• How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

Hi,
I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
Illustrating with an example.
I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.
Cheers,
Krishna

Hi Ron,
I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements.The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Cheers,
Krishna.

• How to change the Destination URI value of a item table at run time

I'd like to change the Destination URI of item of a table region when a column X of my view is not NULL. Where should I set the new Destination URI value for the item table region for specific row? Is in the RowImpl for the view object or in the Controler of the page?
I'd really appreciate any suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the help, but I still dont know where I should to use setAttributeValue(DESTINATION_ATTR,OADataBoundValueViewObject());
All examples that I saw till now here, suggestes to change something in the page in Controller but based on something entered in the page. In my case is IN to OUT, I will render some item table with a specific value parameter based what is in the database. Being more specific, I have a html table and one column Col1 has a value and it will have a DESTINATION URL if another column Col2 is Null. I believe I would have to check somewhere if the Col2 is null or not and change the DESTINATION URL property.
Thanks again..

• How to pass the session_id in the destination URI?

Hi,
How can I pass the database session_id (sid) via the destination URI of my navigation button, which I created via personalizations, on a standard Oracle page? I am currently using: OA.jsp?page=/xxxe/oracle/apps/ar/webui/XXXMyPagePG&retainAM=Y. Is there any standard functionality to do that without changing standard Oracle code?
Thanks for your help!
Best regards
Guy

There's currently no API for that - both accessing the Audit database or internally accessing the Session ID within InfoView.

• How do I pass a form value to Google Analytics

I would like to pass a form value to Google Analytics. ie. if the user enters a value and submits the form, on the confirmation page I'd like to read the value and other form fields and pass those populate the Google Analytics tracking code ie. populate this withthe form values:
_gaq.push(['_addItem',
'1234', // order ID - necessary to associate item with transaction
'DD44',         // SKU/code - required
'T-Shirt', // product name - necessary to associate revenue with product
'Olive Medium', // category or variation
'11.99',        // unit price - required
'1'             // quantity - required

How about this - bind an ajax call to google analytics to the form submit button (change the type from submit to button or suppress the default event), having the form itself only submit after the ajax call is successful? No need to even worry about the confirmation page then.

• Pass a value to a form to be used as a label/readonly

I have a link between a report and an update form. I want to pass the value of a report column to the form to be used as a label. The report column does not exist in the table that the form is based on. How can I do this? I added an item to the form, but that item does not show up in the link details for assignment of a value. Is this a refresh problem?

How do I get the value (VAC_ID) to the form from the link? When you edit the link you can assign column values to the parameters. How can I get the parameter (VAC_ID) to show up as a parameter when it is not in the record?

• Forms Server ES - Pass By Value XDP

I have a need to pass by value the XDP (XDP and Data XML Merged together) to the forms web service renderPDFForm method.
We had this working fine in Adobe 6 and Adobe 7.X (Livecycle).
We are in process of upgrading to Adobe 8 (LiveCycle ES).
When I make the render call below I pass the XDP and XML data together in one XDP package to the service. It renders the PDF Form, but I do not see my data like I did in Adobe 7.X.
Any Ideas/Suggestions?
fs.renderPDFForm("",data,pdfFormRenderSpec,uriValues,attachments,outRenderPDFFormResultDoc ,longHolder,stringHolder,formsResult);

Typically its pass by value. Thanks to class loaders and the JMS specification, you pretty much have to serialize any Object in an ObjectMessage before sending.
Sending around 20K to 10Mb is no big deal these days - but if you're worried about message size, send around a URL to the resource instead.
