Passing an Array to an Applet using PARAM

Is it possibly to pass values as an arrary to an applet from the HTML page. Like so:
<param name="images" value="'/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-07-00.jpg',
'/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-17-00.jpg',
'/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-27-00.jpg',
'/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-37-00.jpg',
'/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-47-00.jpg'">
And how would I be able to stick that in an arrary inside my java applet?

so your parameter list would look like this:
<param name="images" value-"/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-07-00.jpg,
/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-17-00.jpg,
/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-27-00.jpg,
/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-37-00.jpg,
/archives/4/6-26-1/10/04-01-06-26-10-00-47-00.jpg">
and in your applet you do this:String allImages = getParameter("images");
StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(allImages, ",");
String[] imageNames = new String[st.countTokens()];
while (st.hasMoreTokens()){
imageNames[i++] = st.nextToken();

  • ICWC: Passing data b/w views without using CuCo!.

    Hi All,
    I am using CRM 4.0, for my custom development i got many custom views, i have a requirement to pass a value from one custom view to another!.
    All my custom views i developed in a custom application, also the workbench is not allowing me to create a new custom controller of my own, in this context is there any alternative for passing data b/w view without using a Custom Controller?.
    or else anyway to create a new CuCo in my custom application!..
    Thanks in Advance,
    sudeep v d..

    Hi all,
    I have an application that runs in the JApplet.I have
    to pass data b/w server and applet.The
    datas are brought from the server using php to the
    browser and passed to applet using param
    tags.
    1.Is it possible to set value for the param tag from
    applet?Why do you ever want to do it? It sounds like setting arguments passed to a program's main method from command line after the main method has been invoked. It is possible though to dynamically set any values for any applet params using php before the applet gets loaded to the browser window as you generate an html file on the server side.
    2.How to retrieve data from the param tag to the
    applet in the form of an array.
    In the getParameter it is required to specify the
    param name.
    Is it possible to retrieve data from param tag similar
    to that of getting data from command
    line arguments array.You can use some naming/numbering convention for your params. For example settings1, settings2 ... Then you can loop in your code retrieving the values like getParameter("settings" + i) checking to see that it is not null or empty.
    However, if you don't want to reload the applet (together with the page) just to get some new data from the server, you can establish a tcp/ip connection as elchaschab recommended.
    Cheers!

  • How do I pass an array of structs to a C function using the dll flexible prototype adapter?

    What I want to do is pass into a C dll function a variably sized Array of structs of type TPS_Data. My Code compiles but when I run it in TestStand, I get an error -17001; Program Error. "Cannot allocate 0 size buffer Error in parameter 2, 'OpenFrdData'."
    I've allocated the Array of structs, and all of the information is there before I call my function, so is it my prototype? Or am I asking too much of the DLL Flexible Prototype Adapter to pass an Array of Structs?
    I can pass in a single struct of type TPS_Data and that works, but not an array.
    Here's the relevent code:
    typedef struct TPS_DATA
    char Report_Number[256];
    char System_Name[256];
    char Open_Date[256];
    char UUT_Part_Number[256];
    char UUT_Serial_Number[256];
    char UUT_Name[256];
    char Open_Employee_Name[256];
    char Open_Employee_Number[256];
    char Close_Employee_Name[256];
    char Close_Employee_Number[256];
    char Close_Date[256];
    } TPS_Data;
    typedef struct TPS_DATA_ARRAY
    TPS_Data DataRecord;
    } TPS_DataArray;
    long __declspec(dllexport) __stdcall OpenDialog (CAObjHandle Context, TPS_DataArray *TpsData[], const char *psFaultStr, char *sComments, const int nCount);

    OK,
    I can pass the data to the DLL function, using the following types:
    typedef struct StringArrayType
    char string[10][256];
    } StringArray;
    typedef struct MultiStringArrayType
    StringArray Record[10];
    } MultiStringArray;
    void __declspec(dllexport) __stdcall ATP_TestStructPassing(StringArray Strings)
    return;
    void __declspec(dllexport) __stdcall ATP_TestMultiStructPassing(MultiStringArray *Strings)
    return;
    But when the MultiStruct function Exits, TestStand reports an Error:
    -17501 "Unexpected Operating System Error" Source: 'TSAPI'
    There doesn't seem to be a way around this, and once the error occurs, I have to force quit TestStand. I've included the sequence file, and the dll code can be compiled from the fun
    ctions shown above.
    Any thoughts on how to get around this error would be greatly appreciated.

  • Using JNI to pass an array of Strings to C and back from C

    I have some C code that I want to integrate with a new Java application and I need to be able to pass an array of strings to the C program and then the C program needs to be able to build an array of strings that is passed back to the Java program. I've got the first part working so that I can pass an array of strings to the C program and display them, but I can't figure out how to build the strings in C so that that when Java gets back control, it can display the strings tha were built in the C program.
    Has anyone done this? Do you have some sample code?

    I have a program which is written in C. I can give you the whole project as it is in a zip file. You'll need VC to work with it. By the way, I am using Windows for development. Should you need it, I'll mail you the same. Give me your mail address.

  • How do you pass an array of characters using the DLL functions

    I have exported C code into my DLL and I want to know how to pass an array of characters using LabVIEW.

    Mont;
    If you want to pass a string from LabVIEW to your dll, and you do NOT change size of the string, you can use a C String pointer (CStr), which is equivalent to (unsigned) char *.
    If you do modify size of the string, pass string as a LabVIEW structure (LStrHandle).
    The example "Passing a Variety of Data Types from DLL to LabVIEW" is an excellent starting point. Also make sure you check the manual "Using External Code in LabVIEW".

  • Using TestStand How I pass an array of data into a DLL (IPC3.dll) for serial communication

    I am ussing a DLL created by another party. I have the list of the C declaretions. I have been able to write a seq that can turn the comport ON/OFF or select a different port but I have not been able to send or recieved any data. I have created an array of bytes(unsigned 8-bit integers)to send and recieved data but nothing goes out or in.

    Hi Toro,
    There is an example in your \Examples\AccessingArrays\PassingArrayParametersToDLL directory that illustrates exactly how to pass TestStand arrays as arguments to dll functions. The source files for the .dll are located in the same directory.
    For more information on passing arrays as parameters to modules you should read the "DLL Flexible Prototype Adapter" section of Chatper 13 in the TestStand User Manual, and pay special attention to the subsection entitled "Array Parameters". You can access the User Manual from the TestStand Start Menu group, the TestStand Sequence Editor's Help menu, the \Doc directory, or online at the following link:

  • Example of passing String Array from java to C using JNI

    hi all
    i searched net for passing string array from java to C but i dont get anything relevent
    i have
    class stu
    int rollno
    string name
    String [] sub
    i want to pass all as String array from java to C and access it C side

    1. Code it as though it were being passed to another method written in java.
    2. Redefine the method implementation to say "native".
    3. Run jnih to generate a C ".h" file. You will see that the string array
    is passed into C as a jobject, which can be cast to a JNI array.
    4. Write the C code to implement the method and meet the interface
    in the generated .h file.

    I may not have an answer for you, but i am in the same boat! I am trying to pass an array to store in the database. I have 2 out of 8 columns that need to be stored as arrays. Everything saves EXEPT for the 2 arrays in question. I am using BEEHIVE with my web app. The strange thing is that i do not receive any syntax errors or runtime codes. I am still searching for an answer. If i find anything out, i will let you know.

    Is there a way to pass an array or structure for example as parameters, in addition to a query, or multiple queries to the Report Builder in CF8? I believe this was recommended by users to be in CF8.

    Although it's been a while, I thought I'd provide the code to do this for you. It works for me in CF8, and probably will in CF7.
    Here I create a structure called My, and provide that one parameter to my CFReportParam tag.
    <CFSet My = {
    Client = "Client Name",
    ReportDateFrom = DateFormat(ThisStartDate, DateMask),
    ReportDateTo = DateFormat(ThisEndDate, DateMask),
    PageHeaderImage = ImagePath & "\Logos\Page_Header.png",
    WatermarkImage = ImagePath & "\Logos\Watermark.png",
    GetBarSummary = GetBarSummary,
    GetPieSummary = GetPieSummary
    }>
    <CFReport Template="#ReportPath#\SpendSummary.cfr" Format="PDF" Query="GetSummary">
    <CFReportParam Name="My" Value="#My#">
    </CFReport>
    Inside the report itself, reference the given parameter as Param.My.PageHeaderImage for example. It can be referenced that way from any expression inside the report builder. You can even use the queries as the data source for charts (using the Data From a Query -> Query Builder -> Advanced) by entering "Param.My.GetPieSummary" where it says "Variable containing query object".

  • Passing an array as parameter from java (java controls) to stored procedure

    Hi,
    I'm using java controls (BEA Weblogic Workshop 8.1) to call a stored procedure and send an array as a parameter to the stored procedure from java. The following code below throws an exception "Fail to convert to internal representation".
    Java code
    import com.bea.control.DatabaseControl.SQLParameter;
    // Here i create the java array
    int[] javaArray={12,13,14};
    //The code below is used to create the oracle sql array for the procedure
    SQLParameter[] params = new SQLParameter[1];
    Object obj0=javaArray;
    params[0] = new SQLParameter(obj0, oracle.jdbc.OracleTypes.ARRAY, SQLParameter.IN);
    // the code below calls the testFunc method in OJDBCtrl.jcx file
    String succ= dbControl.testFunc(params);
    OJDBCtrl.jcx

    Thanks Michael.
    Here's the final code that i used, this might be helpful for those who face this problem
    Java Code
    // Following code gets the connection object
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    dataSource = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("<DataSourceName>");
    conn=dataSource.getConnection();
    // Following code is used to create the array type from java
    String query="CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE STR_ARRAY AS VARRAY(3) OF NUMBER";
    dbControl.runTypeQuery(query);
    // Following code is used to obtain the oracle sql array as SQLParameter
    ArrayDescriptor desc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("<schemaName>.STR_ARRAY", conn);
    Object[] elements = new Object[3];
    elements[0] = new Integer(12);
    elements[1] = new Integer(13);
    elements[2] = new Integer(14);
    oracle.sql.ARRAY newArray = new oracle.sql.ARRAY( desc, conn, elements);
    SQLParameter[] params = new SQLParameter[1];
    params[0] = new SQLParameter(newArray, oracle.jdbc.OracleTypes.ARRAY, SQLParameter.IN);
    String succ= dbControl.testFunc(params);

  • Pass an array of images???

    I am very new to java and my instructor gave us an assignment of doing a matching game using JButtons and an applet. I have 2 separate .java files (MemoryApplet.java and MemoryGame.java). MemoryApplet intializes the applet and passes an array of images to a method using the following code...
    icon = new MemoryGame();
    for(int i = 0;i<6;i++)
    imgArr[i] = getImage(getCodeBase(),"img" i".jpg");
    icon.setTheIcons(imgArr);
    In the MemoryGame file my setTheIcons method looks like this...
    public void setTheIcons(Image icon1[])
    The problem I am having is that I cannot convert the Image to an ImageIcon to put the image on the JButton. When I passed each image by itself not using an array, it worked fine, but I want to randomize the image locations so I thought passing the array would be the way to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Chad

    If you want to use those images in JButton, so use the ImageIcon arrays like this:
    MemoryApplet
    // declare ImageIcon array
    ImageIcon[] imgArr = new ImageIcon[6];
    for(int i = 0;i<6;i++)
      // create new ImageIcon
      // path: path of images
      imgArr[i] = new ImageIcon(path + "img" + i + ".jpg");
    // initialize MemoryGame instance and call method
    icon = new MemoryGame();
    icon.setTheIcons(imgArr);Hope this help

  • How to pass password from jsp to Applet

    Hi ,
    I can pass the user to applet like below. But password will be seen from view source.
    How can pass password without showing in the view source.
    <PARAM NAME="loginname" VALUE="<%=request.getParameter("loginname")%>">
    <PARAM NAME="loginpassword" VALUE="<%=request.getParameter("loginpassword")%>">
    Thanks in advance.
    Rockesh

    Or alternatively, determine why you need to pass the password on to the Applet.
    For example, if the Applet needs to log into a resource, it is much more secure to ask the user for a password then, as opposed to getting the password from a form, passing it on to the Applet and then having the Applet blindly relay the password to the server, the database, whatever.
    If the Applet doesn't need to do anything with the password, then I must question the wisdom of passing on the password in the first place.
    If the Applet uses the password to do authentication, then the best solution is to generate hashes of the password and compare those hashes as needed. This would make it much more difficult for someone to either eavesdrop on it, or guess it through random trial and error. We can take it one step further. When the JSP code is executed - generate a one time unique password that's extremely long, at least 128 characters. Embed the password in the resulting HTML page as a hidden field and seed the Applet with the password. That would tie the Applet to a particular web page.
    I really like SpinyNorman's JavaScript, but if that's indeed your purpose, you might as well do it in the Applet itself. In other words, it's kind of pointless to ask for a password in order to launch the Applet - once the user gets the Applet's URL by some means, he can just bypass the JavaScript authentication.

  • Pass javascript array to java

    hii
    I have to pass a javascript array to my java MyAction.do . So how can i do it???
    Thnking You

    Being a Java newbie, I can't give you a definitive on how to pass the array to a client-side applet, although it should be possible.
    As for passing it to something server-side there are only a couple ways: in a GET request on the query string or in a POST. No matter what, you will have to flatten the array with some method or other, to convert it into a text string that can be parsed on the other end.
    I personally favor using hidden form elements and posting the data, because otherwise you have to worry about urlencoding your query string. You could just use javascript itself to write a series of hidden text inputs and then submit the form, so all your form handler has to do is pick up the variables.
    Let's say the array is named "myarray":
    Code:
    +<script language="Javascript">+
    document.writeln("<form name=\"myform\" method=\"POST\" action=\"myserver/myhandler.jsp\">")
    for(i = 0; i < myarray.length; i+){+
    document.writeln("<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"myarray[" i + "]\" value=\"" + myarray[i] + "\">")+
    +}+
    +document.writeln("</form>")+
    +document.myform.submit()+
    +</script>+
    I know this is clunky and "low-tech" but it will work, and has the benefit of working for any server-side platform that can handle forms
