if i give "cat FILE_NAME" it will take literally

  • Problem while calling concsub from shell script

    Hi All,
    I am facing problem when I am trying to run CONCSUB utility from shell script.The same works well when I try it from command line.The only prob I am facing from shell script is assigning values to temporary variables.
    This is how my script looks
    #!/bin/bash
    export PARM5="$5"
    export PARM6="$6"
    export PARM7="$7"
    echo "INTPARM5=\"$PARM5\""
    echo "INTPARM6=\"$PARM6\""
    echo "INTPARM7=\"$PARM7\""
    echo $FND_TOP/bin/CONCSUB $1 ONT 'Order Management Super User, Vision Operations (USA)' $3 WAIT=Y CONCURRENT ONT $PROGRAM "$INTPARM5" "$INTPARM6" "$INTPARM7"When I try to run the above shell based concurrent program it doesn't pass the parameters as expected and it errors out saying "Wrong number of arguments to call the procedure"
    I tried my luck from some of the previous posts ({thread:id=2360776} ),but to vain
    If anyone has any ideas,please suggest!!
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Passing a selected file in a GUI to another class

    Hi guys. I have a GUI set up so that when a file is selected in a directory and the user presses a play button in the GUI..it plays back the sound. (Java sound used.) However i want whatever file was selected to be passed to another class also.In other words..whatever the JFileChooser selects..i want that file info to be passed to another Java class in the package...can anyone help? cheers.

    No...whatever file is selected i just want that
    instance to be sent to another class.Yes it can be done.
    These are the steps.
    1.) Choose the file you want. Once you have chosen the file retrieve the absolute path of that file.
    2.)Call a method of the other class instance to which you want to send the file passing the file path as an argument.
    3.)In the other class retrieve the String path and then use it to create a file object to access it.
    //User chooses a file from file chooser and retrieves the path of that file and stores it in a variable String file_path;
    //Now let other_class_instance be the reference of the other class to which you want to send the files path and let that other class contain a method retrievePath(String path);
    other_class_instance(file_path);
    //The method definition in the other class
    public void retrievePath(String file_path)
            File file_reference=new File(file_path);
            //Now access the file using this file_reference
    }

    I know EOF stands for End of file and i am piping the data into the program (sqlplus).You could just as well use "FUBAR" in place of EOF; which just happens to be some arbitrary string.
    piping ("|") is NOT involved , as in env | sort

  • Passing contents of file from server to client

    We have a Visual Basic 6 application that uses OO4O to access a 9i database.
    We have a requirement to retrieve a text file from the database server and display the contents in our VB 6 client.
    We already do this for small files. Basically we call a stored procedure that reads the file using utl_file and returns the contents of the file in a OUT_VALUE_LONG variable which VB then displays.
    The issue is that we now need to do the same but for a much bigger file. Is there a limit to the amount of data we can pass in an OUT_VALUE_LONG?
    If there is a limit, what other options do we have?

    I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but in case I do, here goes. If you're ssh'd into another machine, you're using that machine. Dragging something from your local finder into a terminal ssh session, if I'm not mistaken,hopelessly munges the path. The ssh session puts you on the other client. Trying to figure out what happens when you drag a file from your local finder to a terminal session on a remote host starts to make my head hurt. I think typing the entire path, or just navigation to the right directory would be the best bet. You can do this on multiple clients through ARD, and I imagine you could script the process as well (already posted).

  • Order of arguments while calling a Java method from C

    Hi
    are there any rules to order the transferred arguments ?
    I wanted to transfer a native window event from C to Java and if the called
    java method is declared like this: (int, long, int) (IJI)V
    public static void nativeMouseButtonDownCallback(int wParam, long lParam, int which)
    the value of 'which' is not correct (always the same independent from what I set it to in the C function)
    If I declare the java method like this: (int, int, long) (IIJ)V
    public static void nativeMouseButtonDownCallback(int which, int wParam, long lParam)
    everything is fine.
    Any information appreciated !
    Bye Mark

    Thanks for your reply !
    Initially I also thought that the set of the value could be wrong and so
    I used a printf statement in C to monitor the transferred value.
    And still: the value I put in was different from what I got in java.
    After this I put in simple numbers like 1,2,3 and in java I still got
    the same wrong value.(guess max signed int 21474836..)
    I really replaced the dll and class files and restarted the IDE.
    The problem got solved by changing the order of the long an int.
    Bye Mark

  • Creating Rpt Conmgr Cache File In Temp folder while opening report from app

    hi frends,
    I m facing one problem with my Web based erp application which is developed in .net ,
    in my application when i open the  report from my applicaiton , in my temp folder there one file gets created name is "rpt conmgr cache"
    bcoz of this for few records also my report takes too much time and opens very slow and it takes long time, and it happens in some of the reports only , other reports are working cool and its not creating any file in temp folder,,,
    so can u guide me whats this file and what can be the solution for it,
    Thanks
    Mithun

    I have never heard of "rpt conmgr cache" being created in any temp directory. Is that the actual name of the file you are seeing?
    As you have not applied any updates, I'd recommend applying SP 4 to your development system. SP 4 is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
    Next, I'd recommend getting the SP 4 runtime on the client. You have two options; MSI file of create your own deployment sing the msm files. The MSI file is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009657852008E/crxir2sp4_net_si.zip
    MSM is here:
    http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxir2sp4_net_merge_modules.zip
    Also, I don't think I still have a good handle on this:
    "my report takes too much time and opens very slow and it takes long time"
    What is long time? Two seconds, two minutes, etc.?

  • Error while calling class in report

    Hi All.
    Iam calling a customizes class in the report program.
    I have declared data based on class type, even though getting error like The type of "V_OBJEK" cannot be converted to the type of "V_TPLNR".
    eg:
    I need to pass value from  ausp-objek to v_tplnr ( type is TPLNR )     both are diffrent data type .
    so create a filed as v_objek ( type char30 ).
    Now pasing value from ausp-objek  to v_objek variable.
    v_objek = ausp-objek
    then moving values from v_objek to v_tplnr .here getting error.

    Hi Nilesh,
    Well if you have already checked whether the FM is available in CRM system, then check SM58 & SM21 for logs of the RFC call. That should have the details for failure.
    Also please check if the FM is remote enabled. I dont have access to CRM system, hence cant verify.
    Thanks,

    I'm getting this also. I thought it was
    due to my use of DATA PARAMETER. I've
    logged TARS on this and have yet to hear
    back from Oracle.
    Maybe if enough of us get the error Oracle
    will give some guidance on this one.
