Passing global from Events

I am developing a test program. I am using the full PID control, A test routine with 20 steps. It is a semi automatic test. The operator has
a panel for input when an event occures. I am having dificulty trying to pass the global data from the event case to the test sequence.
I am sure it is very basic. When I choose the start event. I tried to pass the boolean state & and I tried passing a 0 or a 1.
No luck.

Hi,
I looked at your State Enum VI. IT seems like you are trying to pass data through GV from a while loop at the top to the sequence structure at the bottom.
1. The bottom sequence structure is going to execuate only once, so it is not going to get the value that you intended to get. You can put a while loop around the sequence structure if you want, so that it will continue to poll for the GV.
2. If you pass data that way, you are going to run into racing condition. It is better to pass through between parallel section of code with a queue instead.

Passing value from event to workflow container

Hi experts,
I have triggered a workflow using SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT fm. I have declared 3 parameters in the BO for the event. Similarly i have created the 3 parameters in workflow container to receive the values.When the user clicks a button i trigger the workflow using the fm. I have to pass values of these 3 parameters to 3 parameters of the workflow container. Can you please tell me how should i pass the value from event to workflow container. Is there any way i can set workflow container parameter values while calling the fm itself.

Standard PO workflow giving error due to Release coe is not getting passed from event

Hi Team,
I am getting the below error while processing the Standard workflow for PO.
I think its due to the Release code is not getting passed from Event to workflow.
Can you please sugest from where the release code is getting fetched before triggering the event.
Error processing following event linkage:

Passing global variable values from databse to forms

I am using forms 6i and database is oracle 9i.
I am trying to run a form stand alone ( by pressing CTRL-R) without putting it in the application.
since when this form is placed in the application menu it works fine as it has been passed global variables values from the database .
now i am trying to run the form without menu and thus i want to pass the values of global variables .please let me know where should i pass these values in form .is it be WHEN-NEW-FORM-Instance trigger or in Pre-form trigger.
i know what are the global variable values passing into the form from database.
i can hard code any values to check if the form runs well or not.

If you intend to do this sort of testing regularly you might want to consider creating a seperate form with a control block which allows entry of the name of the form you want to run, the names of the globals and their values, and do a CALL_FORM.

How to pass Data from one form to the other

Hi all
Can any one suggest me how to pass data from one form to the other form, which i zoomed from the original one?
I tried to do this by passing parameter in Event Procedure but i am getting error msg when i am opening the zoomed form.
If any one of u have any idea, give me a reply

If you choose the second alternative you should erase these global variables after the second form is opened
You can erase the global variable using:
erase('global_var')

If someone could just tell me how to pass variables from flash to php and the opposite i would be thankful!!! Please help!

I have recently had to learn this, so this may not be the best way but it worked for me
I suggest looking at the code below stripping out everything you don't need (e.g. the databse stuff) and just get a simple string going back and forward

I think he meant the global namespace.
You set a :global_your_name_here to a value and that value is available in your entire application. See the help file section on the global namespace for more information.
Forms parameters are parameters that you form picks up from the outside when it starts. The calling entity must supply them in the URL or they will be set to null. You set them up in the object navigator in the Parameters node.

Hi,
Let's say I have two containers (Container1=application , Container2). Container1 gets some data from user, perform some database lookup and displays Container2 with the results from database lookup.
Container1 --(call and display)--> Container2
Below shows how I am using a bindable variable in Container1 to pass the data from Container1 to Container2. Also shows how I display Container2 from Container1.

Is it possible to pass data from a subVI before that subVI has finished executing?

Basically this is my problem:
1. I have a subVI which contains a loop that reads data from a device for a specified amount of time.
2. I would like to graph this data in real time on the front panel of the main VI.
So is there a way to pass data from inside the loop of my subVI to the graph of my main VI before the subVI has finished executing, and if so how do I do this?

Passing data from one bsp application to another

Hi,
I have few queries that most of you would have done in ur projects:
1. I want to pass data from one bsp application to another:
eg based upon selected row of table view which populates material no and descriprion to another application which open the entire material master data.
Now, i have both the pages in diff bsp applications in place but unable to pass the selected material code to the second bsp application.
Had it been two different pages of same application I was able to achieve it with set parameter()
2. To stop the application from reprcessing the data:
eg: Suppose I have a bsp page where user fill details of a customer and on submitinng the details a customer is created in background and the entire page is disabled by my code. Even now if the user press refresh (F5) button then another customer gets created in the background. So basically i want to avoid the reprocess of the onSubmit event

The first screen record should sit in the Second Screen as it is.

An Idea,
Create a function group, in that define global variables. Then create two function module. Pass variable from one function module and get in the another one.

Passing data from calling page to popup window

We are developing a BSP application for business card.I need to provide a preview button .
when the user clicks this button a

I was doing something similar...created a controller and a view , was calling the controller from window.open method with all other parameters for sizing etc.
How to pass a structure conatining data,from controller to the view...

Master-detail relationship - passing parameter from form to form

Hello.
I have a question about master detail relationship.
In first form we have master-detail relationship.
Example on dept, emp tables:
We query dept (master), so we can get one or many emp (detail) records. Then we have a third table - tasks. Tasks table (detail) can have many records for one employee.
Tasks table is in another form, which is called with call_form built_in. So we pass a parameter from master to detail - parameter empno. Because of that, we can only see tasks for one employee and can't navigate to another employee. This is normal.
Now comes the question.
Is it possible to call a form (with tasks table) with deptno parameter (so we can navigate through all employees with that department), but first show employee that was last used in first form?
Example of our goal.
Master: deptno = 20
Detail: navigate to JONES employee
Call new form (tasks)
Tasks for JONES employee are first shown
Can navigate to another employee - without requery
Is this possible?
If we pass deptno parameter, we can navigate through all employees - but must navigate to the employee we last used in first form.
If we pass empno parameter to second form, we see last used employee but cannot navigate to another employee without requery.

In your master detail form set the trigger when-new-instance and there define the global variable like

and in your task table set the trigger when-new-instance and there define the global variable like and also write this code
:GLOBAL.G_DIVISION_ID := NULL;
IF :GLOBAL.G_CIRCLE_ID IS NOT NULL THEN

     SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('DIVISION',DEFAULT_WHERE,'CIRCLE_ID ='||''''||:GLOBAL.G_CIRCLE_ID||'''');

:GLOBAL.G_CIRCLE_ID := NULL;
now you maintain your trigger according your need.
