Passing header through File to File Scenario

Hi All
I have a scenario where i have a file to file scenario. The file contains a header and that file has to be sent through PI, and the output header should be coming out.
Please give me suggestions as to how i can solve this
Thank you

  • IDoc output type not getting configured in IDoc-File scenario

    Hello
    I am having IDoc to file scenario where I want to post Delivery Document to legacy system. For this I have configured following EDI configuration for Delivery through NACE transaction
    1] Created output type
    2] Created partner function as EDI LS for this output type
    3] Configured RSNASTED as Processing Routines for output type
    4] Included this output type in the Header output procedure
    5] Configured XI system as the partner in partner profile with appropriate Message control
    Still when I attempt to include this output type in the Delivery it gives me "Output for partner could not be configured". The detail message says "In Customizing, the 'CannotBeChanged' indicator has been set for output type".
    I checked in SPRO but could not find such flag.
    Does anyone had came across such output type configuration.
    Thanks in advance.
    I know this question might be not appropriate in XI forum as it comes under EDI but it has become necessary for XI profs -:)

    Hi,
    Please check the following
    1. Condition Table
    SPRO > Material Management> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Condition Tables->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    Select:
    Purchasing Doc. Type,
    Purch. Organization,
    Vendor
    2. Access Sequences
    SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Access Sequences->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    3. Message Type
    SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Types->Define Message Type for Purchase Order
    Copy NEU to ZNEU or YNEU
    4. Message Determination Schemas
    4.1. Message Determination Schemas
    SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Maintain Message Determination Schema
    4.2. Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    5. Partner Roles per Message Type
    SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control-> Partner Roles per Message Type ->Define Partner Role for Purchase Order
    6. Condition Record
    Navigation Path: SAP Menu-> Logistics -> Material Management -> Purchasing-> Master data->Messages-> Purchase Order-> MN04-> Create
    Now you create PO (ME21N) and save it. Go to ME22N and print the PO by giving output type ZNEU or YNEU.

  • Sender Agreement not needed when in httpclient to file scenario.

    Hi,
      I will like to understand why in the httpclient to file scenario, a sender agreement is not needed?
      Thanks.

    HI
    Integrattion server - IS expects the messages in XML format. If you see the HTTP request you will see that we pass all the info contained in the Sender areement in the the HTTP request itself , namely - Message interface, message type and the namespace (along with login parameters). For IDOCs the the IDOC- XML are are sent to the IS (through IDOC port configuration at the source system.
    When send a message to XI the sender knows that XI system parameters, but when at the reciver end there could be any any system that is reciving the IDOc/HTTTp message. you specify those message through a commumication channel and this channel is associated to a receiver agreement.
    For more information you can search in sdn.

  • 1: N File Scenario..

    Hi,
    My Scenario is File to File Scenario, in which i need to drop the 2  target file in the ftp server in the same directory.
    For Eg:
    Source Fields:
    EMPNO
    ENAME
    Address
    Department
    ContactNumb
    2 OUt PUt files that to be dropped as below:
    In the 1 st output file
    ENO
    ENAME
    Department
    In the 2nd output file
    ENO
    ENAME
    Address
    ContactNumb
    i dont have any condition for splitting the messages,
    IR OBJECTS
    I have created 3 data types, 3 message types, 3 Services Interfaces, 1 Message Mapping ( Through Signature in PI7.1 i have called the 2 output message types), 1 Operation Mapping.
    ID OBJECTS
    1 Sender Comm Channel, 1 Rceive Comm Channel, 1 Sender Agreement, 1 Receiver Determination, 1 Interface Determination, 1 Reciever Agreement,
    When i search with multimapping there they suggest to go for enhanced Interface Determination, but in PI 7.1 i didn't find the Enhanced Interface Determination.
    My Question:
    1. HOw many Receiver communication Channels are required. With one can we use Dynamic File Naming Conf.. UDF whethr it will drop multiple file names in the directory of FTP , Please suggest how to handle this..
    Expecting your valuable inputs ..
    Thanks,
    Sai

    Hi Raja,
    As per our discussion i have created ESR objects and ID objects, with 2 reciever communication channels and 2 receiver agreements,
    With Respect to ER:
    Message Mapping: I have usind multi mapping using signature tab. Have called 2 message types at the target.
    But while mapping i didnt map any element to the headers of the target.
    as a result the output files are generated with out any data.
    Later i have mapped the target headers with the only one source header.
    Source Header -- Target Header1
    Source Header -- Target Header2
    When i test the scenario at Message mapping level it is working fine but when i test the complete scenario
    throwing following error in moni..

  • Is FCC required in File to File scenario without mapping

    Hello,
    I have a scenario where XI is picking up a csv file from a BW server and just pushing the file to some other location as it is .
    i.e csv file will be pushed as it is to another location
    So in this case is FCC required ? . ie do i need to convert the csv file in to XML and then back to csv , or i can just use a dummy interface to pass the csv file through the XI pipeline
    Thanks & Regards,
    Loveena

    You can execute a Unix script running in the XI server from the File communication channel. Ie. if you want to do something which was not part of XI adapter configuation , then you can make use of external unix script and you can execute those from the XI.
    For this, write a unix script and place in the XI OS level provided that path is accessible from PI Channel.
    E.g
    So u can use this in either Sender Channel to modify the data before it reaches into the Integration Server or in Receiver channel it is generally used to transfer the files into different location via Secure FTP

  • 2 file to file scenarios and one sender channel

    hello there,
    i am implementing 2 file to file scenarios. referring to the below link i have 'by-pass' integration repository in order to perform my file to file transfer since both the input and output files have the same structure, hence no mapping is required.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=%28J2EE3417500%29ID0036662950DB01052533299951691312End?blog=/pub/wlg/4383 --> How to send any data (even binary) through XI, without using the Integration Repository
    as seen in the link provided above, it is mentioned to provide a 'dummy' interface and namespace as no such things were created in the IR.
    Now i have a second development which perform the same task(file 2 file) however the naming and source/target directory for the second one differs fromt eh first.
    that is for the first one the source directory is srcroot/folder1/ and for the secon one is  srcroot/folder2
    the  target for the first scenario is  trtroot/folder1 and second is trtroot/folder2.
    i wanted to use the same sender channel, making use of the advanced features to pick the files from the different directories, however the scenario always put my files, even those from srcroot/folder2, in the first target folder that is in trtroot/folder1 instead of trtroot/folder2.
    one easy way of doing this, is to create channels for each scenario, but if possible i want to use one sender channels for both, is that possible for my scenarios?
    can anyone please advise me?
    if there is a better way, you are welcome to share it with me.
    thank in advance.

    Hi,
    You can pick the data using same sender channel.
    But there are two ways of putting the files to their corresponding destinatios:
    1)Using 'Adapter Specific Message Attribute' in communication channel.
    But for this to work you have write UDF in your mapping, but as you are not using IR part, this approach can't be used.
    2) Another way is, you can use variable substitution method, where the values of the target directory is populated by payload of the incoming file.
    If this is not possible, then there is no way but to define 2 diffrent communication channels for receiver.
    -Supriya.

  • How to do the multimapping in File to File Scenario

    Hi All,
    I am doing File to File scenario using Multimapping Concept.pls send the procedure how to do the Massege mapping using Multimapping.
    I have a source structure like this.
    <order header>
    order no
    order Description
    </order header>
    <Orderitem>
    matno
    description
    Qty
    UOM
    </Orderitem>
    i need output text file Like
    Ono Oodesc OMatno Odes Oqty OUOM
    1      02    123    Oil  2    L
    1      02    789    Milk 4    L
    How to do the multimapping for this.if any Advanced java functions needed pls send the code.
    Thanks
    Govindu.

    Hello Govind,
    Make the target str as below
    <root>
    <Row>
    <OrderNo></OrderNo>
    <OrderDesc></OrderDesc>
    <Matno></Matno>,
    <Desc></Desc>
    <Qty></Qty>
    <UOM></UOM>
    </Row>
    </root>
    The mapping for elements
    <Matno>,<Desc>,<Qty>,<UOM> is straight-forward. The node <Row> can be mapped to <OrderItem> node in source. For orderNo and OrderDesc you need to use advanced UDF (with entire queue cached) as below.
    public void getOrderNo(String[] a,String[] b,ResultList result, Container container){
    /Declare a vector to store unique Order Numbers  /Order Desc/
    Vector vOno = new Vector();
         for (int i = 0;i<a.length;i++){
         if (a<i>.equals()ResultList.CC) continue;
         /Add distinct Order numbers to the vector/
         if(!vOno.contains(a<i>)) vOno.add(a<i>);
    int headerCounter = 0;
    String value = new String();
    value = (String) vOno.get(headerCounter);
         for (int j = 0;j<b.length;j++){
         /When context changes, move to next order no/
         if (b[j].equals()ResultList.CC){
                       headerCounter++;
                       value = (String) vOno.get(headerCounter);
                      continue;
         /Repeat the current order number/Order Desc until a context change occurs/
         result.addValue(value);
    The mapping for OrderNo can be like below:
    Pass <Order No> from Header to the UDF as array a[] and <OrderItem> from Item as array b[]. Take the output of the function and make it SplitByValue the result of which can be passed to OrderNo. The context of both < Order No> and <OrderItem> has to be one level higher.
    Similar mapping for OrderDesc can be made using the same UDF
    I hope that resolves your problem.
    Regards
    Amit

  • File to File scenario without ESR

    Hi PI Experts,
    I m doing a file to file scenario, which can be used for files with different structures. So I believe I should do this as just pass through without any ESR/mappings.But the doubt I have is how to configure receiver determination without a service interface.Can you please give me suggestions on how to proceed with this.
    Thank you so much in advance!
    Anjana.

    HI,
    follw steps:
    File to File Interface without ESR objects
    this is very simple , you need to create Configuration objs
    1. sender Communication channel and agrrenment
    2. receiver Communication channel and agrrenment
    3. u have to provide dummy service interface names and name space in interface determination,
    4.in receiver determination , we have to provide source and receiuvers bu.components and remaining dummy names.
    and provide
    dummy name means : any name like xyzzz
    dummyname sapce : http://xyzzz
    please refer this blog:

  • No receiver could be determined in Proxy----File Scenario

    Hi All,
    Iam doing Proxy---File scenario
    Every thing i got success in SAP R/3 side MONI
    I got this Error in XI side MONI as No receiver could be determined
    I check the Sender Service in MONI--- SOAP Header ---Main( Both R/3 side & XI side also)
    Here it is showing like sapdev as my sender service, but actually my sender Business system is Sub_Dev_ssd.
    How to get it rectify
    Regards
    Vamsi

    Hi Chirag & Santosh,
    As i said the problem is when i check in XI side MONI
    The sender service is showing sapdev BUT it shld be Sub_Dev_SSD which i have selected in the Receiver Determination Step also.
    The same is showing in the SAP R/3 side MONI also
    According to my understanding , The Correct Business system which is there in the SLD & which i want to use is not Picking in the SAP R/3 side and so thats why iam getting the Service as sapdev & the same sapdev Service is passing to XI also
    I think the Business system from the SLD is Not comming into picture.
    What to do for this??

  • Simple File 2 File scenario - binary

    XI freaks hello,
    I want to run a simple text File to text File scenario without ANY change of the file encoding.
    currently it is running using the Binary type (I don't want to mess with the content encoding of the text file).
    would this be ok?
    mind you..the file is taken from a Windows FS and moved to another FS...would this might cause encoding problem? should the original program create the file with the target server encoding
    cheers

    Got it from the market place.
    Note 821267 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 File Adapter
    "Flat Files without File Content Conversion
    Whether to configure an encoding in this case depends on if you want to pass through the file "as is", e.g. within a File Sender to File Receiver scenario, or if you want to convert the file's encoding on its way through the Integration Server. <B>For "as is" processing, configure both the sender and the receiver using the File Type setting "Binary".</B>
    To apply an encoding conversion, configure the respective source and target encoding in both the sender and receiver channel."

  • Which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario

    which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario?
    Rgds
    Ruchitha

    Hi ruchitha thakur  ,
    A Summary of the Steps to be carried out to enable a SAP R/3 System send Idocs to SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
    First - Maintain the Sender R/3 System:
    SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
    WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created
    BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
    WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound and the Inbound Parameters
    Second - Log on to XI System:
    SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
    IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
    IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata. This is needed only by XI, and not by other SAP systems. IDX2 is needed because XI needs to construct IDoc-XML from the IDoc. No other SAP system needs to do that.
    To Enable Acknowledgement:
    SXMB_ADM ->Integration Engine Configuration ->Specific Configuration ->Add New entry -> Select parameters as:
    Category: RUNTIME
    Parameters: ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Current Value: 1
    GO TO SLD:
    Create Technical System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Define SAP SID, Installation Number and Database Host Name a Maintain message Server Details according to Sender System -> Maintain Client Details of Sender System ->Select a Installed Product for Sender System
    Create Business System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Choose the Technical System and the client Created Before -> Choose the Installed Product -> Set:
    Business System Role: Application System
    Related Integration Server: Integration Server
    Integration Builder
    Integration Directory:
    Add Business System:  Adapter Specific Identifiers -> 'Logical System' identical to the 'Logical System Name' in the SLD Business System
    IDoc Receiver Communication Channel: port the same as XI System IDX1

  • Error/Doubts in Idoc-XI-File scenario

    Dear All,
    I am doing one scenario in which DELIVERY idoc is posted from R/3 to XI and then from XI that idoc is to be sent as flat file to one local folder.
    For this scenario, I have done all ALE settings and I am able to see the idoc in XI in cXML format.Now I want to sent it as flat file.
    Now, for doing this I created 2 BS & 2 TS. 1 BS & TS of type Third Party for receiver & 1 BS & TS are of type Web as ABAP for sender. Then I have created one namespace in IR. I have not created any DT, MT, MI, MM becoz the structure of source and target file are same. Now, I created one IM in which I specified specified Type as "ABAP Class" & Mapping program name as one of the Z function module as specified in one of the SAP Guides.
    Then in ID, I created 2 Parties ie. one for Sender & one for receiver. Sender is having a communication channel of type Idoc & receiver is having communication channel of type File. And thn further Receiver Agreement, Inetrface Determination, Sender Agreement & Receiver Agreement are configured.
    In my system there is one scenario already configured which is using Delivery idoc so I have used party in my scenario for both sender & receiver.
    Now, when I am sending the idoc from R/3, I am able to see cXML in SXMB_MONI but it is taking receiver as the one which is defined for the already existing scenario but not the receiver defined by me.
    Can anybody guide if I have followed the correct steps & where I am doing the error.

  • How to suppress the Acknowledgement  Error in IDOC to File scenario?

    Hi -
    I got the status in SXMB_MONI as 'Processed Successfully' for the IDOC to File scenario but the Acknoledgement status throws an error saying 'Acknowledgement not possible'.
    I read one of the documents in the forums on how to suppress the acknowledgement using a table on R/3 side using IDXNOALE,
    i tried that option but i still get the 'Acknowledgement not possible' error.
    Is there any other way to suppress this error?
    Thanks,
    Tirumal

    Hi Tirumal,
    Receiver adapters that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender. Acknowledgements are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed. Receiver adapters do not support application acknowledgments. The RNIF and CIDX adapters are exceptions to this rule, since they also support scenario-dependent application acknowledgments. Sender adapters of the Adapter Engine do not request any acknowledgments.
    This means, JDBC adapter does only send system acks, however IDoc adapter is requesting application acks. Therefore as mentioned by the previous poster, you have to disable acks for this scenario using report IDX_NOALE.

  • Error in File to File scenario

    Hi All,
    im trying out the file to file scenario [binary file using file content conversion]from SDN Wiki:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/xi/main&
    On the runtime workbench, adapter engine is in red/error status due to error in the receiver comunication channel.
    The sender communication channel is working fine. During testing, my file is being picked up and deleted(processing mode set to delete).
    I am able to see the msgs in sxmb_moni and in Message Monitoring, the status is delivered.
    However, the receiver channel does not show any error msgs at all.
    Yday when i tested , i got the foll error msg:
    Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'EMP.Contacts.fieldFixedLengths' or 'EMP.Contacts.fieldSeparator' is missing
    However tdy i dont see any new error msgs during testing (no changes made to the recvr channel).
    Given that the sender communication channel is wrking, can i safely assume that file adapter is wrking fine. If not, how do i check the status of the file adapter [in RWB, i can see the file adapter  and various other adapters(with a grey diamond icon next to them). how do i interpret the status of the adapter?
    Would really appreciate if anyone can advice on how to troubleshoot this?
    Many thanx!
    cheers
    Prachi
    I hv tried doing a full cpa cache refresh.

    Hello Prachi ,
    I thinks its because of receiver File Processing Parameters,as you are considering here File Content Conversion.
    If your structure is like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns1:Proveedor_100011 xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/webservices/buyordint">
    <config>
    <directory>c:/tmp</directory>
    <filename>dynamicFile3.txt</filename>
    </config>
    <root>
    <string>Header;423423</string>
    <lines>
    <value>LINE;</value>
    </lines>
    </root>
    </ns1:Proveedor_100011>
    Then your content conversion is -
    RecordSet Structure: config,root
    root.fieldSeparator = ;
    root.endSeparator = 'nl'
    config.fieldFixedLenghts = 0
    config.fixedLenghtTooShortHandling = CUT
