Passing mandatory parameter within several calculation view

Hi, I have syntax error when I try to pass parameter between several calculation view; let say:
Calculation view A: has mandatory parameter called company;
and
Calculation view B: has mandatory parameter called company;
What I want to achieve is to passing parameter from user from Calculation view B and then within Calculation view B, I called Calculation view A with user inputted parameter.
I have try similar like this, but giving me error:
var_out = SELECT ...
           FROM :CA_A a,
          "_SYS_BIC"."package-testing/CA_B" ('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$COMPANY$$', COMPANY)) b
SQL: sql syntax error: incorrect syntax near "COMPANY": line ...
NB: COMPANY is mandatory parameter inside Calculated view B

Got it.
Actually, passing the parameters from one CA to the other should be the easiest part.
Just do something like:
lt_a = SELECT * FROM "_SYS_BIC"."package/CA_A" ( 'PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$COMPANY$$', :COMPANY) );
Where "COMPANY" is the input parameter's name within both views.
Basically, within the calc view's code, just use colon & the parameter's name to refer to the paramete, similar to how you do with a logical table (e.g. :lt_a in the aforementioned case). It would also be the same to refer to a parameter within a procedure.
From your original code, the only difference is the colon you forgot before "COMPANY" parameter reference.
Within CA_A's own code, it should be the same to refer to the parameter within the code (i.e. :IP_COMP in the above case).
How to achieve what you're trying to is another story. But if you want help with the SQL itself, I'd ask it in another discussion thread.

  • Pass BODS job parameters as HAVA View parameters

    Hi experts,
    I use HANA Calculation View as Data Source and need to pass BODS job's parameters into Calculation View parameters. I have tried to use SQL Transformation with code like this (see below) but it doesn't work.
    select RRCTY, RYEAR, FISCAL_PERIOD as POPER, FISCAL_YEAR_PERIOD, RBUKRS, RACCT, RCNTR, WBS, RZZPERNR, PLEVEL, ROW, MEASURE, REP_ID
         from SOURCE_1.DIM_EMPLOYEE as emp
         inner join "_SYS_BIC"."packeage/CalcView" (PLACEHOLDER."$$IP_SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP$$" => {$IP_SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP}, PLACEHOLDER."$$IP_REP_ID$$" => {$IP_REP_ID}) as mce1
         on emp.EMPLOYEE_CHAR = mce1.RZZPERNR
    How can I pass job parameters into HANA Calculation View from BODS?
    Thank you!
    With best regards,
    Sergey

    Hello
    There's nothing wrong with your theory, it will work as all Data Services is doing is constructing an SQL string as passing it to HANA.  Which version of HANA are you using?  The PLACEHOLDER syntax changed slightly, however I suspect you are missing some single quotes around your parameter values.
    Get the SQL working succesfully via the HANA Studio (or hdbsql) then reverse engineer the parameterised statement for the SQL transform.

  • Passing one parameter to multiple views

    Is this possible?  I would like to pass one parameter, a date field, to multiple views.  I cannot use it in the record selection, because my views do a mathematical computation which returns a single value, but I only want to select the data for a single day.
    The problem is that there are several views and I do not want to have to enter the date parameter a dozen times.

    Try to use add command and write the query like this
    select * from view where datefield={?date}
    also create another add command for the other view
    select * from view2 where datefield2={?date}
    for all the queries create the same parameter with the name {?date}

  • Passing a comma in a parameter within a URL

    I am trying to pass a parameter whose value contains a comma into Discoverer Viewer using a URL. I have followed the instructions that are given in the Disco documentation, substituting ~44 into the URL where the comma appears. Here's how it looks:
    http://elvis.rock.local:7777/discoverer/viewer?us=anyuser&db=prod&eul=prodeul&wbk=ACT001TESTURL&wsk=2234&qp_Drivers=Smith~44+Shad+A+/+ssmith,Brady~44+Tom++/+brady&qp_Company=Mycompany
    The problem is that the parameter values show up as 'Smith~44 Shad A / ssmith','Brady~44 Tom / brady' rather than what I expected: 'Smith, Shad A / ssmith','Brady, Tom / brady'. I have tried using ~32 and 002c instead, also tried enclosing in quotation marks, i.e., '~44'.
    Obviously I don't get any results because the values passed in the parameters don't match up with the values in my table.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tricia

    Hi,
    It looks like you have a multivalued parameter and Discoverer cannot distinguish between a comma as a delimiter and a comma within the a parameter value. It is because you are using both multivalued parameters and commas within your parameters that you have the problem. If you have a list values like Smith,Brady,Cooke then the URL parameter qp_names=Smith,Brady,Cooke will be translated to 'Smith','Brady','Cooke'. On the other hand if you have a single parameter like Smith, Shad A then qp_name='Smith,+Shad+A' will be translated to 'Smith, Shad A'. I cann't think of any workaround other than using your own encoding.
    So for example, if you encoded comma as ~2c then you would change you condition for the parameter from item_name IN (:Drivers) to REPLACE(item_name, ',','~2c') IN (:Drivers)
    But then all users would have to enter the encoded comma not just when the URL was used.

  • How to pass in a parameter into a report viewer on a jsp - and hidden

    Hi, I've built a php application and am using the java environment to enable the crystal report/viewer.  The developer was looking how to pass in a parameter into a report viewer on a jsp. Ultimately the end product we need is to get an HTML report viewer loading a report file with hidden parameters so to not expose other customer data (it's a shared database for multiple customers) preferably loaded from php using maybe the php java bridge. Would anyone happen to have any sample code or any guidance?
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8"
       pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer"%>
    <%
    // just a test to grab rpt name from GET
    String rptFile = "report_files/" + request.getParameter("rpt");
    %>
    <crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName=""
    isOwnPage="true">
       <crviewer:report reportName="<%= rptFile %>" />
    </crviewer:viewer>
    Many thanks in advance!
    Mark

    I am not aware of any html tags you can pass to the viewer for parameter values.  Normally, you would load the report in code and then use the SDK with the report object to pass parameter values.

  • Input parameter of Analytic view in Calculation View

    Hello Folks,
    I have created an analytic view with some input parameters and using this view in a calculation view.
    when i am checking Data Preview of Calculation view , it is not asking for any input parameter and returning blank values.
    Could you please let me know the where i went wrong.
    Thanks.

    Hello Ravindra,
    Here is scenario :
    AV :   AV_1 w/o parameters
    AV :  AV_2  w/  required parameters
    when i join the both them into CV_1 , I am unable to see input parameter mapping.
    Could you tell me where it is located.

  • Pass parameter from jsf to view object query

    Hi,
    i have requirement where user id is captured when user logs in in a session bean.How do I pass this parameter to bind variable in query?
    thanks,
    Mat

    Amit's second link : Setting bind variable for a view object
    should hold answers for you.
    Ypu can also visit : http://groundside.com/blog/DuncanMills.php?title=adf_executing_code_on_page_entry_1_servi&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
    The general idea is this :
    Get the username (you mentioned portal, so after portal authenticates the user is the username available in a session scoped managed bean ? You would need to access this somehow because your query needs it., preferrably by EL)
    create am AM method to set the bind parameter to the Vo and execute it. The method is automatically exposed to the DataControl.
    Create a method binding in your page def for the method. in the parameters for the method, use the EL to get the username, eg: #{sessionScope.frameworkBean.username} (you could also create a binding for executeWithParams, but I hav'nt done this in a while and dont remember the exact process )
    Now create an executable for the method binding you created. (the executable ensure that this method is called at pageload, and set you refresh condition appropriately)

  • Hierarchy on HANA Calculation View with Optional Input Parameters Fails

    Hi,
    Has anyone succeeded in building a hierarchy on top of a calculation view with optional input parameters, where an input parameter is not filled?
    The original requirement came from the wish to create a parent child hierarchy on a calculation view that was copied into the customer space from a HANA Live Financial Statement query view, but I have found the following when creating a simple level hierarchy on a calculation view that consumes one table. The Calculation View has one Input Parameter where the 'mandatory' box is unchecked.
    Calculation view reads ECC table FAGLFLEXT
    Simple level based hierarchy on fields PRCTR, RACCT and SEGMENT
    Input parameter is used as a filter for PRCTR with logic ("EMPTY" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$' or "PRCTR" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$')
    When I run the view I see the following behaviour in HANA Studio and Analysis for Excel
    Before building the hierarchy I could run the view with or without the Input Parameter
    After building the hierarchy I can run the view with the Input Parameter filled, but it fails when the Input Parameter is not filled.
    Error message is "error: search table error:  [2426] missing placeholder; missing value for mandatory parameter P_PROFITCTR"
    P_PROFITCTR is not a mandatory parameter, but the selection for the hierarchy view thinks it should be. I don't find any notes around this issue, so I don't think it's version related, however the version I have used for this test is 1.00.70.
    It's a shame we can't currently build the hierarchy as the parent child relationship is provided in HANA Live view NewGLFinancialStatementQuery.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
    We have been facing similar issue. We have even tried to set default value and as optional parameter. View still fails to create hierarchy (we are not using HANA live). As mentioned on page 97 of HANA modelling guide input parameter is mandatory from engine point of view. Hierarchy is generated as column view during the initial activation of calculation view and therefore expect a value by caller.
    This seems to be a product error. Some one from HANA development team should explain this issue in detail. I would expect someone like Thomas Jung reply to us.
    At the moment, we cant use input parameter for date prompt which gives us calendar popup feature for date selection. Hierarchies just don't work with input parameter. We are missing something.

  • Passing a parameter list from a web form to a report

    I am using FORMS6 and REPORTS6, with OAS 4.07 on NT4 (SP3).
    In client server mode all works well - i am able to pass parameter lists from my calling form to the relevant reports and view them (using RUN_PRODUCT).
    However, when i try and do the same by deploying the web Form I come up against several obstacles.
    1. How do you pass a parameter list over without using "Paramform=Yes" - a waste of time seeing a html version of the reports parameter form when all the necessary parameters have been selected in the form.
    2. if i use web.show_document, with paramform=no, the report runs but with it's default settings.
    Any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Tony ,
    Launcher form is just a simple form(Non database form) which will be having all fields that is required for the report and button to run the report .
    When button pressed trigger
    Pass all the parameters which are required using Run_product tool & Call the report by Web.Show_document
    Best way to see the report is in .pdf format in adobe acrobat reader
    I hope it will help you

  • How to pass dynamic parameter to a database function in OBIEE

    Hi,
    I have a requirement like this. I have to create one report in OBIEE which was in Discoverer. Now in discoverer report there are some calculated item in the worksheet based on database pkg.functions. The parameter which user gives at run time that parameters are then passed to the discoverer calculated items dynamically. But I am not able to do this in OBIEE answers.
    Can anyone tell me step by step how I can able to pass the user selected parameter values in OBIEE answer level.
    The example:
    GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD("AFE Cost & Commitment".Afe Id,:"Period Name(AFE)","AFE Cost & Commitment".Data Sel,"AFE Cost & Commitment".Org Id)
    GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD --- Function database
    ("AFE Cost & Commitment".Afe Id,:"Period Name(AFE)","AFE Cost & Commitment".Data Sel,"AFE Cost & Commitment".Org Id --- Parameters... :"Period Name(AFE)" is the dynamic parameter selected run time by user.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Titas

    Hi,
    I already did that. But the existing discoverer re value report is showing correct value but the OBIEE report with EVALUATE function shows incorrect value.
    The requirement is to create a OBIEE Dashboard from a Discoverer existing report. Now in discoverer report theere are several calculated items in worksheet level where database custom function is used and user selected parameter value is passed run time in that function. But when that is created in OBIEE with EVALUATE function in RPD, the report shows incorrect data. Could not understand how to pass the parameter value runtime.
    Below is the discoverer 'Show SQL' query and EVALUATE function syntax which has been used.
    SELECT APPS.XXBG_PL_PROJ_ANALYSIS_AFE_PKG.GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD(XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_ID,
    :"Period Name(AFE)",
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.DATA_SEL,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.ORG_ID),
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_DESC,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_NUMBER,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.APPROVED_AFE_AMOUNT
    FROM APPS.PA_PERIODS_ALL PA_PERIODS_ALL,
    APPS.XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V
    WHERE ((XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.ORG_ID = PA_PERIODS_ALL.ORG_ID))
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.DATA_SEL = :"Data Selection(AFE)")
    AND (PA_PERIODS_ALL.PERIOD_NAME = :"Period Name(AFE)")
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_NUMBER = :"AFE Number(AFE)")
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.OPERATING_UNIT = :"Operating Unit(AFE)")
    The EVALUATE function syntax is as below:
    EVALUATE('XXBG_PL_PROJ_ANALYSIS_AFE_PKG.GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD(%1,%2,%3,%4)' AS FLOAT , "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Afe Id", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."Periods 1"."Periods 1.Period Name", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Data Sel", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Org Id")
    The PERIOD needs to be passed at run time which user will select.
    Please help to solve the issue.

  • Using K Means in a Calculation View

    Hi Experts,
    Can you please help me with the below scenario.
    I am trying to use K-Means function to perform clustering on customer data. I have the below columns:
    Attributes:
    Customer ID, Home Ownership Status
    Measures:
    Customers Debt to Income Ratio, Annual Income
    1. Is it possible to use multiple attributes given above to perform the clustering as i read that clustering can be only done using measures.
    2. I need to pass the number of clusters dynamically from report to the K-Means function to perform clustering. I tried to use calculation view to get this parameter from user at runtime and pass to the input parameter table of K-Means function. But the problem is, calculation views will not allow any kind of DDL statements like create/drop/insert/delete/update etc.
    3. Further i would like to understand how to use the results of the K-Means clustering delivered via two tables one having clusters, distance and other having clusters and remaining measures to build a scatter chart. How this can be achieved.
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    M.N.Adinarayanan

    Hello,
    Would you share your dataset maybe I can help.

  • Calculated view with input parameters

    Hello there.
    I've created a calculated view with input parameters, which I am going to call  it  'VIEW_A'.
    This view has been working just fine.
    But now I have to create another calculated view and import the last one(VIEW_A) in a projection.
    But I got a error when trying to see the data content.
    It says :
    Error: SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: search table error:  [6968] Evaluator: syntax error in expression string;expected TK_ID,parsing '"DT_DOC_MES_ANO" >= [here]and "DT_DOC_MES_ANO" <='
    At the 'Problems' panel it says the all the input parameters are unmapped.
    What Am I doing wrong?  Sorry but I am kind new at SAP world.

    http://scn.sap.com/message/15489475Hello Tiago,
    Could you please let me know if you're able to resolve your issue, I'm getting the similar error when I'm passing alpha numeric values as parameter via my SP.
    Thanks for your help in advance!

  • Mandatory parameter 'IdcService' for POST or GET is missing

    I checked in a document into 10gR3 content server running on top of Win 2003 server .
    I can search for the document. Open the document from inside my home page. I can get content ID info about the document.
    I selected the "send link by email.
    My email client (outlook) is launched correctly with re:folio admin guide in the subject line
    In the body of the e-mail
    web-viewable link:
    http://fileserver3/idc/groups/public/documents/adsales/000001.pdf
    native file link:
    http://fileserver3/idc/idcplg?idcservice=get_file&ddocname=000001&revisionselectionmethod=latestreleased
    content info:
    http://fileserver3/idc/idcplg?idcservice=doc_info_by_name&ddocname=000001&revisionselectionmethod=latestreleased
    I can successful launch the document via http://fileserver3/idc/groups/public/documents/adsales/000001.pdf
    However if I use the other 2 links for the native file or the content info I get the error message in a html page
    Mandatory parameter 'IdcService' for POST or GET is missing. Request could not be processed. Could not find the parameter 'IdcService'.
    I know that the IDCService is running, as it is visible within the services panel, as well as the obvious that the content server would not be running, e.g. http://fileserver3/idc/idcplg?IdcService=GET_DOC_PAGE&Action=GetTemplatePage&Page=HOME_PAGE&Auth=Internet
    I turned on the full trace option and searched the content server log file but there was no failure request.

  • Writing an sql script to query a calculation view  and an attribute view inside a calculation view

    Hi,
    I was trying to query a calculation view with sql , and as one of the input parameters i was trying to give a query over an attribute view
    So my sql will look like this
    SELECT * FROM "MyApp.calculation_views::GET_CHECKLIST_FOR_ACCOUNT"('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$ACCOUNT_ID$$', '1','$$CHECKLIST_ID$$',' SELECT CHECKLIST_ID FROM "MyApp"."CHECKLIST_PRODUCTS" WHERE PRODUCT_ID = 5'));
    So as an input to $$CHECKLIST_ID$$   i wanted to give an id selected from checklist products table where products id is passed as an input
    but this is not working, i am getting syntax error at the $$CHECKLIST_ID$$ there i can only pass values like  $$CHECKLIST_ID$$, '1'
    Please help me to figure out which  is the correct syntax  i tried putting the sql statement to get the checklist_id in '' but it too didnot work

    I'm not sure you'll be able to do a SELECT subquery directly in the placeholder definition, but you can create another calc view (scripted) as a wrapper to your original calc view and use a scalar variable to pass the parameter over.
    Try this as the base code for your second calc view:
    var_id VARCHAR(10);
    BEGIN
         SELECT CHECKLIST_ID INTO :var_id FROM "MyApp"."CHECKLIST_PRODUCTS" WHERE PRODUCT_ID = 5;
         var_out = SELECT * FROM "MyApp.calculation_views::GET_CHECKLIST_FOR_ACCOUNT"
              (PLACEHOLDER."$$ACOUNT_ID" => 1, PLACEHOLDER."$$CHECKLIST_ID$$" => :var_id);
    END
    You could even create input parameters in the second Calc View for the Account Id & Product Id (which are currently hard coded in your code below).
    Best,
    Henrique.
    PS: avoid using SELECT * for the var_out in the scripted calc view. It's better, from a code maintenance perspective, to explicitly define the columns you're outputting.
