Passing parameter to Graph Builder

Hi
If somebody has experience with Graph Builder- how i can show(at run time) the value of parameter wich i am passing to my chart item in Graph Builder?
I am trying to assign a value to a text item in my Display(in Graph Builder).
In Open trigger i am using :text_item1 := :param1
and i got error bad bind variable"Text_item1"
How i have to refer to e text item in Graph Builder?
And also - how i can create a chart wich query is based on stored procedure?

Hi Galia,
Assuming you are working with Forms 6 or above, you have to create a block with a display_item object.
Using the button on Layout Editor you will be prompted for going with Graphics Wizard or manual building.
If your grapho is not so complex, I think the first one it's the best way to include a grapho inside a block of your form...
Opening/displaying/updating your grapho will be automatic (but you can set differently few properties of this item too).
Refer to Forms Help for improving your graphics, even I think they are not Forms' best feature...especially on web envinronment.

in your select statement you can check if the employee has not its picture or picture field is null then return logo. for this you have to assign some default value to the field Like 'N' is default value for picture field so when there is not picture or field is null then 'N' will be its default value and you can check in your query like

Is there a way to pass parameter or a variable to a url in the import statement..
I'll be using a url in the import statement, the url will be having a dynamic .rtf file...something like

Have you tried replacing the mySubtemplate.rtf part with a variable, or replace the entire URL using a variable? Try using the same construct from this example in the Report Designer's guide (page 7-14, 10.1.3.4).

How to pass parameter from 1 stored procedure to another stored procedure inside crystal report

I have several stored procedure in my Crystal Report. I am wondering if it is possible for me to pass a parameter to one of the stored procedure and to use the result of that stored procedure E.g. CustomerCode. To another 2 stored procedure to generate the report dynamically?
I have 3 stored procedure
The 1st one is used to gather information and process the calculation
another 2 stored procedure is used for generate the graph and both of them required to take 2 parameters. The 1st stored procedure will require 1 parameter (E.G. Reference Code) and will return a set of information including the data that could be use on the other 2 stored procedures.
After I added these 2 stored procedure, it requires me to pass 3 parameters to the report. I would like to know if I could only pass the Reference Code for stored procedure 1 and use it to retrieve the information for the other 2 parameter?

Hi Chi
To pass parameter from 1 stored procedure to another stored procedure, you will have to create sub report. In your case you will have to create 2 sub reports for 2nd and 3rd stored procedure and link those sub reports with the main report using Reference Code field in order to pass the values.
After creating the report when you will refresh the report, it will ask 4 parameters, one parameter for main report, one for the first subreport and two for second subreport to fetch the data correctly.

Portlet event link to pass parameter between portlets

Ok list, I followed the documentation Adding Parameters and Events to Portlets
PDK Release 2 (9.0.2 and later) and tried to make a portlet that pass parameter to another portlet using event link. I created the supposed parameter in the page and made the correct association to the receiving parameter portlet. The case is: The parameter is not caught in the receiving parameter page.
This is my event link jsp code:

Few things which you might want to cross check to see if we are
on the right track :
1. Page containing Parameter receiving portlet contains a
paga parameter mapped on to its public parameter.
As per your example, parameter receiving page should have a page
parameter with name - "funcionalidade" - and portlet's corresponding
parmeter should be mapped to this page parameter. This can be
done through "Parameters" tab in the Page Properties screen.
2. Page containing Parameter passing portlet contains proper event
mapping.
As per your example, we have an event called "submit". We should
be able to see "submit" event under "MenuColaboracao" portlet.
When this event is raised, select which page should receive the event
data. As soon as a page is selected, this page's public parameters
are displayed below. Beside that we must be able to see a choice box
which displays four choices one of which would be "Event Output".
Map this output to the event parameter.

Now I try to build conference room like this by using form
and report. And i design that when users click at group report
then i'll show page that contain questions report and add
question form. And question form and report must receive the
same parameter from group report.
First Problem: is I don't know how group report send the
same parameter to question report and add question report at the
same time. And is it possible??? If not please suggest me what
should I do???
Second Problem: is I don't know how can I pass parameter from

One way is to create a link based on that form and attach that
link with the report. Through links you can pass parameters

Make sure to apply the latest Patch2.11 and retest.
Also, please state your datasource type. This can influence the syntax (i.e. when passign BEx variable values)
Finally, have you tried the Web (DHTML) editor (bilaunchpad webi preference)? it has an OpenDocument 'wizard' to help you build-up the correct syntax .

Pass parameter to analysis services report to cube (Not filter)

Hi I am trying to pass a parameter from a report to a subreport. Both reports are built on Analysis Services cubes.
I can pass the parameter value to a FILTER parameter but I cannot pass it directly to parameters used in cube. Is it only possible to use the passed parameter as a filter?
My subreport is a lot slower when I have to return everything then filter it in Reporting Services, rather than only returning what I need.

As you said, there are two ways to filter data using parameters. First is add a filter to the dataset or other report items. The second one is use the parameter on the query no matter the database is a multidimensional or relational database. Here is a sample

Passing parameter to an xsl template from BI Publishe

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to pass a parameter directly from BI Publisher to the xsl template.
XML files are used as Datassource here. The requirement is that the user needs to pass on a value that is not present in this XML file for eg ( a word like "
"Google" or "Yahoo" or "BIP" and I need to take that value and construct an url out of it. The url would be "www.google.com" or "www.yahoo.com" or "www.BIP.com".
The parameter passed would in no way be used to filter out any data coming from the xml files, and is used only for building this url.
I have used parameters to filter out data for report template where the datasource is Sql. The parameter passed would be used to filter out data . I donot know how we can pass a parameter value without filtering out the result set, but use it in the report.
Basically I need my BI Publisher report to have 2 datasource,
1) the xml data file and the template uploaded would use this to generate the report, and
2) the value passed by the user declared as parameter in BI Publisher which would be used to generate the url.
Please let me know if this is possible

Use data template, Check datatemplate, how to pass parameter. - search this forum, i have answered it many times.
create parameter and say , include parameter as true. it will be added to the xml in the top.
You dont have to use it necessarily in the sql query.
The parameter will there in the xml, and you can use in any template type.

1)Pass value in hashmap:

Would you know if there's a way to mimic Deski
document from BOXI server(CMS) to local machine, pass parameter, execute and
save in a mutiple report format then store in a local drive or network
drive? Most examples and tutorials in BO XI R2 I've seen are scheduling while drilling report is for web intelligence only and not desktop intelligence. Please let me know your ideas. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.The file is not available in the server. Though, I checked CMS and I found an instance in history tab and the status is failed with error below.
Error Message:
A variable prevented the data provider Query 1 with BANRRD30 from being refreshed. (DMA0008).When I checked my codes, I found out that the object Im using is for web intelligence data provider. However, I cannot find any documentation and example for passing parameter values in desktop intelligence data provider. Any idea on this? You think this is not suported by Report Engine SDK?Thanks.

'Driver]Parameter missing' Error while trying to pass parameter to MS query & Return Data to Microsoft Excel

I am trying to set up a parameter query using ODBC-Microsoft Query
to BMC Remedy The ODBC connection is "AR System ODBC Data Source".
I want to pass a parameter to modified date field and get all the remedy tickets for which the modified date is<= to the passed parameter date.
So in MS query, SQL-
the query looks like

How to get month value from custom calendar without passing parameter from SSRS in MDX query

Could you please throw some light to achieve below requirement?
I need to filter the data between two periods dynamically . The date calendar here works differently(ex:-Date 26-Aug-2014 will fall in period 7 which is last date and 27-Aug-2014 will fall in period 8 and it is first date of period 8),so I cannot go
with system date period/Month. Date Hierarchy is like YEAR,QUARTER,PERIOD ,WEEK and DAY.
I cannot use SSRS for passing parameter. Requirement is to extract last 2 period of data dynamically in Power Pivot with MDX.

What it is doing is multiplying Day by the current date, which returns a set of one date with cardinality of (Date,Day). The Extract is pulling out just the datehierarchy Day. the the Tail() is getting it and the previous day.

I'm an new BPELer, I created a invoke activity to submit Oracle Appplications concurrent program, but I don't know how to pass parameter into source variable.
BTW, I have created the mapper file (.xsl) file.

How you start application? I think you send message to webservice(BPEL process is webservice too). So construct message with variable and value.
But I created only processes where input value doesn't matter. I haven't use mapper yet too.

Using Go URL to Pass parameter between dashboard

Hi All,
I am trying to pass parameter using GO URL functionality from one dashboard analysis field to another dashboard.
The navigation is working properly but the parameter is not getting passed, I am not sure why.
The Called dashboard has a analysis which has IS PROMPTED filter attached to it for the passing filter. I tried various ways to make this work
Option 1
In the calling analysis, I am using a Narrative View and inside I have used the below code.

Looks like you've got it almost right - just an extra unneeded "
<a href="two.jsp"?ant=<%= ant %>"><%=antName%></a>
which should render on the page as something like
My Ant Task
When you click the link, it should pass that parameter, and you can get it via request.getParameter().
