Hello Anee
I still recommend to use the approach described in Passing select-options value in method because you do not have to change the CONSTRUCTOR method of your class if your requirements for reading select-option changes.
You just change the evaluation of the select-options and parameters within your class.

  • How can i pass the Input value to the sql file in the korn shell ??

    Hi,
    How can i pass the Input value to the sql file in the korn shell ??
    I have to pass the 4 different values to the sql file and each time i pass the value it has to generate the txt file for that value like wise it has to generate the 4 files at each run.
    can any one help me out.
    Raja

    Can you please more elaberate., perhaps you should more elaberate.
    sqlplus is a program. you start it from the korn shell. when it's finished, processing control returns to the korn shell. the korn shell and sqlplus do not communicate back and forth.
    so "spool the output from .sql file to some txt file from k shell, while passing the input parameters to the sql file from korn shell" makes no sense.

  • Can we pass runtime input varibles to Actives X componets

    Hi,
         Can we pass the runtime input variables to Active X componets, so the output can be varied depending upon the inpur variable we pass.
    The main idea is : I am using Active X compnets to inteface with C code and Excel sheet where we have to pass the input varilable. I want to give the input while the program is exectuing. Can this be possible. if so how cani do this?
    ThankQ for the help in Advance.

    Hello,
    I think your question comes down to the interface provided by the component.  Usually they come with a set of properties and methods which you can execute.  Those setting properties and executing methods (which can take input variables) should be able to handle your desired functionality - whether the property or function you're looking for is already implemented is up to the developer of the component.
    Does that make sense?
    For example, if your component processes an excel spreadsheet, and you want to be able to pass a file name to it programmatically, it will have to have a property or method which allows you to do this.
    I presume you are using LabVIEW.  Keep in mind, LabVIEW reads the API as defined by the component - what properties and functions are available is not up to LabVIEW - those are decisions the component's developer made.

  • Passing params to php constructor?

    it is possible to pass parameters to php constructor via "data/services" in flex?

    Thanks for that suggestion, that'll be a good project for me to learn tags.
    What's buggin me is why isn't that supported...there must be a good reason for it, it's not like the geniuses at Sun just didn't think of it!
    In the mean time I've discovered that I can just write a regular class and call it's constructor but I've got to use a conditional to avoid calling it twice. So far that class seems to have session scope by default...does anyone know how to set page or application scope to a class?
    Newbieism is a challenge!
    Thanks for your help,

  • How to bind/pass multiple input parameters to sql query in BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to invoke a query on a database table to fetch the records based on the few input values or bind variables?
    I have created a Partner link using the DBAdapter service and have used custom SQL, how can i bind and pass multiple bind/input parameters for these queries.
    foreg: if i have to query employee records based on name , desgination and age, these three params would be my input parameter that i will pass when i invoke the BPEL process, bow how can i pass these parameters to the partner link using DBADAPTER service.
    Please help
    Regards

    If the parameter-value is not known beforehand and cannot be determined based on the process instance data at that time, there are 2 options. Either invoke the PL/SQL procedure you named using a DB adapter service to get the value and pass it to the other DB adapter service. Or create a single service (e.g. PL/SQL procedure) that determines the parameter value, executes the query and returns the result. However, this is more a design issue. Does it makes sense to combine these actions in a separate service and use it or are these actions not related? You furthermore state that additional (DB adapter) services make the process heavier. Do you have strict requirements on the time process-instances may run or other such requirements? If not, I think the design-choice on whether combining these actions in a single service should have more priority.

  • How to execute an SSIS package on a scheduled basis from remote server and pass in input files

    I have an application server and a db server.  My db server has all things SQL Server stored on it (DBMS, SSRS, SSIS, etc.)  I have several nightly batch process SSIS packages (dtsx files currently) that will pickup an input file and import them
    into the database.  I would like to execute all batch processes from my application server as I have quite a few other ones as well that do other stuff outside of SQL Server via powershell.  My question is how to do this?  Is there away to execute
    them remotely via DTexec.exe, should I set them up as Agent jobs and somehow pass in the file names\location (how?), create and SSIS catalog, etc.?
    I need to easily be able to see if the packages execute successfully or not and if not capture the detailed information of why they failed from the remote server so I can use that to drive my process flow logic in the batch processes.

    Hi Jason,
    According to your description, you want to execute a package on a schedule and receive notification when package ends with error in the job.
    After testing the issue in my environment, we can directly add the package in a step of a job, then add a schedule and set the Alert and Notification property in the job to achieve your requirement. For more details, please see:
    Create a Database Mail in the SSMS.
    Right-click the SQL Server Agent services to Enable mail profile, then select the appropriate Mail profile.
    Under the Operators folder, create an operator with the correct E-mail name.
    Right-click the Jobs folder to add a new job.
    In the Steps pane, New a step with SQL Server Integration Services Package Type to run the package.
    In the Schedules pane, New a schedule for the job.
    In the Alerts pane, New an alert with SQL Server event alert, then enable Notify operators option with an operator in the Response pane.
    In the Notifications pane, enable Email option with same operator and When the job fails selection.
    Then when the package fails, the job would be failed and we can receive the error message in the mailbox.
    Besides, please make sure the account that execute the job has correct permissions for the file, for the folder that contains the file, and for the database.

  • How to pass user input in automator to a variable?

    I want to ceate a workflow/application to
    -create a new folder eg Batch001 in directory B
    -grab a group of folders in directory A
    -and move them to Batch001
    -create an archive of Batch001
    -create a new set of empty folders in directory A
    I thought I had this worked out, and planned to create a small applescript to grab a user input, then pass it to a variable. Figured if I do that at the beginning I can use the variable to create the Batch folder name, which I would enter manually. There will be a number of them, but not hundreds.
    I have an applescript in automator to show a dialog, but ti does not seem to pass anything to the results. Even if I just use a simple dialog no results are passed. If I run it in actionscript editor it shows a result as expected.
    on run {input, parameters}
      --Display Dialog and Get Input
      display dialog "Batch Number?" default answer "BatchXXX"
      --Get Answer & Return Comment
      set input to (text returned of result)
      return input
    end run

    I tried that, but when I run my workflow, it fails and I get an error message: The action “Rename Finder Items” encountered an error.
    Here are a couple of screenshots of my workflow:

  • How to pass RECORD input type to stored procedure from JDBC?

    Hi,
    We have stored procedure which takes RECORD as input .
    We could execute the below script from oracle client tool and get the response.
    declare
    l_record app.batch_update.add_record;
    l_id number;
    begin
    -- memberNumber
    l_record.no := '123456700';
    -- Policy Number
    l_record.pno := '1234567'
    -- Status. This will always be NEW.
    -- Call to API to add record
    app.batch_update.add_request
    (p_record => l_record,
    p_id => l_id,
    end;
    We have requirement to construct RECORD input from Java application and pass it to callable statement.
    We have tried to construct it via STRUCT and pass it to callable statement but it didn't work.
    We have constructed it like the following but not sure whether it is correct. It was throwing error "java.sql.SQLException: invalid name pattern: app.batch_update.add_record
    StructDescriptor structdesc = StructDescriptor.createDescriptor
    ("app.batch_update.add_record", delConn);
    Object[] p1obj = {' 12345','124050'};
    STRUCT p1struct = new STRUCT(structdesc, delConn, p1obj);
    Not sure whether I am doing the logic correctly.
    Please point me to the correct approach.

    Wrap the method using a record-type parameter in PL/SQL; a simplified example follows. Add exception handling, translation of types etc. as needed.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE prc_wrap_prc_using_rec

    pv_my_field_02 IN VARCHAR2,
    pv_my_field_99 IN VARCHAR2,
    pv_err_msg OUT VARCHAR2
    ) AS
    -- Non-scalar parameter
    pr_my_record user.pkg_rec_declarations.wr_a_record_decl;
    BEGIN
    -- Load the work record
    pr_my_record.pv_field_01 := pv_my_field_1;
    pr_my_record.pv_field_02 := pv_my_field_2;
    pr_my_record.pv_field_99 := pv_my_field_99;
    -- Call the procedure
    pkg_std_routines.prc_do_sumfin(pr_my_record, pv_err_msg);
    END;

  • Consuming Web Service ( How to pass multiple inputs and retrieve dataset)

    I am new to ADF and Web service.
    In the current project, I have to consume a web service ( through WSDL).
    Created the pages as per the following tutorials.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_14/jdtut_11r2_14.html
    As per the steps 11, 12 mentioned in the document, I have mutiple fields so I added these code.
    Though in the tutorial, it has zip code as the input parameter, but I have three input parameters such as classCode, annualPayroll & fullTimeEmployees.
    How to include there input parameters which should be passed to the results page once the command button "Calculate" as mentioned below is pressed.
    <p xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <af:commandButton
    text="Calculate" disabled="#{!bindings.calculateBasePremium.enabled}"
    id="cb2" action="show"/>
    <af:setPropertyListener from="#{bindings.classCode.inputValue}"
    to="#{pageFlowScope.classCode}"
    type="action"/>
    <af:setPropertyListener from="#{bindings.annualPayroll.inputValue}"
    to="#{pageFlowScope.annualPayroll}"
    type="action"/>
    <af:setPropertyListener from="#{bindings.fullTimeEmployees.inputValue}"
    to="#{pageFlowScope.fullTimeEmployees}"
    type="action"/>
    </p>
    But JDeveloper is throwing error.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Questions is how do you pass the variables from the page to the next page.
    I have added code so that when the button command is presses, based on the action event, it will be passed to the next page.
    When I was adding the Listener event for the items for page flow, it was not accepting action and was throwing error.

  • How to pass mapping input paramters to a pluggable mapping?

    Hi,
    I'm using OWB 10.2.0.3.
    How can I pass the mapping input parameters to a pluggable mapping?
    I know that I can use the pluggable mapping input signature, but this means I always need a joiner in the pm before I can use the parameter in a filter, for instance. This is not really convenient.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • How to pass external input to user-defined subclasses

    Hi all,
    [this might be a really trivial question] I would like to define a sub-
    class of JTable which get some external inputs: something similar to
    the following *not-working* example.
    *********************************************************************** import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.table.*;
    public class RHJTable extends JTable
        public RHJTable(int rows, int columns, int externalinput)
            super(rows, columns);
        public Object getValueAt(int row, int column, int externalinput)
            return externalinput;
    What follows is the error message I get, which I assume it is due to
    my "externalinput":
    ??? Java exception occurred:
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 >= 0

    Can anybody please suggest me the correct way of passing this external
    input?
    Thanks
    lor

    Thanks for this detail. Before getting into JTable
    etc...design suggestions, it would be helpful to know
    how the interaction between Java and MATLAB is
    supposed to proceed. OK: I'm developing a MATLAB GUI with an embedded JTable inside it: people write things in a user defined JTable (well, customized subclass of JTable).
    I would like to define this subclass not as MyJTable(int rows, int cols) but as MyJTable(int rows, int cols, int externalinput), but doing this gives me the aformentioned error.
    Simplest setting: MATLAB writes data to a file, and
    knowing the format of that file you are able to parse
    it in Java. I'm not using any kind of input or output file: simply, MATLAB calls a JTable subclass (i.e. I only have a .class file to work on).
    Problem arises when I would like to add some more input: I cannot say simply setValueAt(int externalinput) if the JTable can't get this input directly from MATLAB...
    I hope I did make myself a little bit more clear: solution must be trivial, but I'm spending a lot of time in it...
    Thank you very much for your interest.

  • Passing large input from ADF taskflow to servlet

    Hi,
    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.
    We have an application where we need to render dynamic content on the page so we are using a popup window with an inline frame component which calls a servlet that provides the content. This is working fine otherwise but on some views one of the parameters for the servlet comes from a free-form text field which can potentially contain pages of text that we want to include in the dynamic content. This won't fit in a normal URL parameter, so what would be the best practice solution for passing the required input to the servlet in this case?
    Regards,
    Joonas

    Hi Frank,
    Yes, I can access the session from the servlet. I did some tests with this and it seems that if I store the text straight to session scope (af:richTextEditor value=#{sessionScope.variable}), the servlet can access it just fine no matter how long the text. If I first store the text to pageflow scope variable (since it is used elsewhere and I wouldn't want to refactor the taskflows) and then try to copy it to session scope via f:setPropertyActionListener, the servlet fails silently if the text is longer than a few paragraphs. Any idea why this is happening? A limitation of setPropertyActionListener?
    Thanks,
    Joonas
