Passing '**********' to screen field value instead of internal table value

Hi All,
I have written BDC, in which when i pass value for second screen "Description type field" it's passing '*************************' instead of internal table value.
It's picking correct value for first internal table value. Could anyone please give an idea why it's happening?

Hi Ujjwal
The reason behind this is that you are using AT NEW.... ENDAT block in your coding.
When you use AT NEW field statements, the fields in the work area after the field get converted into ********.
Check values in your work area I_RECORD in debugging inside AT NEW statement and you will understand what I am saying.
In your case all the fields from header line of I_RECORDS which come after field CLASS are getting converted into *******,
hence the error.
Try using a temporary work area, say w_record. Pass value of I_record to w_record before AT NEW statement.
And use w_record-fields instead of I_record-fields. And your program should work.

Passing of internal table values to the select statement as SETS

Hi All,
Is there any way that i can restrict the values of a internal table to be passed to a select statement set by set..
say for eg: if a itab has 1000 entries i want the first 500 to be going out in a select statement as a comparision for all entries and then the next set of 500 to go out..
Please let me know.. this is very urgent..

Appending Several Lines
You can also append internal tables to index tables using the following statement:
APPEND LINES OF <itab1> TO <itab2>.
This statement appends the whole of ITAB1 to ITAB2. ITAB1 can be any type of table, but its line type must be convertible into the line type of ITAB2.
When you append an index table to another index table, you can specify the lines to be appended as follows:
APPEND LINES OF <itab1> [FROM <n1>] [TO <n 2>] TO <itab2>.
<n 1 > and <n 2 > specify the indexes of the first and last lines of ITAB1 that you want to append to ITAB2.
This method of appending lines of one table to another is about 3 to 4 times faster than appending them line by line in a loop. After the APPEND statement, the system field SY-TABIX contains the index of the last line appended. When you append several lines to a sorted table, you must respect the unique key (if defined), and not violate the sort order. Otherwise, a runtime error will occur.
Then u can use FOR ALL ENTRIES in select query.

 I declared field string as below.The below code is working fine.

LOOP AT <FS> INTO WA_ITAB.

But my requirement is that I dont want all the fields of the table YAPOPLN.My output contains only 2 fields of the table YAPOPLN,which contains total 4 fields.According to my requirement only 2 fields will be getting into one parameter PARAM(this is function module parameter,which is from ALV classes) from the user entered output,which contains only 2 fields.So the above code is not working properly because wa_itab contains 4 fields and giving short dump.
If I am declaring the internal table with the required fields(only 2 fields) and referring that internal table to field symbol <FS>

Try this way:
If both the type of internal tables are same then you can directly assign dynamic internal table to static internal table.
itab = <itab>.
Suppose you have field symbol internal table <itab> which is different in structure from ITAB.
Now, you can create <wa> as follow:
FIELD-SYMBOLS <wa>.
DATA wa TYPE REF TO DATA.
CREATE DATA wa TYPE LINE OF <itab>.
ASSIGN wa->* to <wa>.
This way your work area is read.
Using [ASSIGN COMPONENT|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/fc/eb3923358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm] syntax you can read required component of <wa>.
Finally you can use that value to load static internal table.

How to check a field value within an Internal table

Hi Friends,
My requirement is:
I have a line item of PO records, in that each line item of Plant field should not diffe with other line items. If it differs or say the records have different plant values line items, then I have to throw an error message.
Below example for better understanding.
lineitem Plant
010 ABC
020 ABC
030 XYZ
040 LKG
So, my report will throw an error like "All line items must be identical'.
How to do proceed it.Please advise.

Hi Sankar
first you need to fetch all the values in one internal table from your PO.
After that create an internal table with only plant field and move all the plan values in this table.
let assume ITAB is a table with all the values. and ITAB1 with plant only.
wa_itab is the work area for ITAB and wa_itab1 is WA for ITAB1.
ITAB has all the values and ITAB1 has all the values only for plant.
delete adjacent duplicate from itab1 compairing plant.
loop at itab1 into wa_itab1. " this will fetch all the plant values in workarea.
read table itab into wa_itab where wa_itab-plant = wa_itab1-plant. " this will fetch only the values matching to the table itab1
if su-subrc <> 0.
message 'plants are not similar' TYPE 'E'.
elseif sy-subrc = 0.
write your code*.
endif.
endloop.

What I understood from your coding is...
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <NODE_FLIGHT> via lead selection
Node_Node_Flight = wd_Context->get_Child_Node( Name = IF_VIEW1=>wdctx_Node_Flight ).
You are reading values from the above node and binding the values to the same node.Am i right?
Did you take seperate context node for your input fields or binded the above context to the fields.If not then read the context attribute values which are binded to the carrid and connid then pass these values to select query.
One more thing is select cardinality 1..n for node NODE_FLIGHT since you are displaying more than one record.
Go through the some basic tutorials.Search in sdn you will it get.Already there is a tutorial in sdn which explains exactly what do you require.

How to Refresh "Internal table values" in User EXIT.

Dear All,
My requirement is to place some checks in exit ZXQQMU20 in different tabs from the TCODE IW21 . IW22 etc.
Now after placeing the checks towards the different tabs while doing "NOCO" from IW21 the conditions are fullfilled but
when i go ahead to modify the created "NOCO " from the TCODE IW22 by deleting the created values and saving in IW22 , the conditions written in the exit are still satisfied eventhough i have deleted the values in IW22.
The reason for this is that the tables which are there in the exit ZXQQMU20 T_VIQMFE , T_VIQMUR , T_VIQMMA
still contains the old values which were there at the time of creation of "NOCO" in IW21 .
How to refresh my " internal tables values" used in such that even at the time of modification of the NOCO through IW22 my table values should pick the current screen values and not the values which were there at the time of creation.
Please help.

Hi, I was thinking just like XVBAP and YVBAP values in the USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT.
Plz check u have x /y versions or tables like _old/ _new suffixes and then move the value accordingly.
otherwise there may be inconsistency.

Transferring checkbox values on ALV to value in the internal table?

Hi,
I'm using an ALV grid (CL_GUI_ALV_GRID) to display an internal table. I want users to be able to select one or many rows and those checked lines to be marked as X in my internal table. I have a field, check(1), in my internal table displayed on the ALV, but when I tick one line on the ALV and debug, I don't see an X in the check field on that line in my internal table.
I've successfully written code to select and deselect all lines and those values copy back to my internal table so why don't the single lines?

Yes, I have.
The checkbox is appearing on the screen and is populated/cleared when I click the select/deselect buttons (this transfers the values in my internal table to the screen). But when I just tick one line and then debug that line isn't showing as having X in the check field in my internal table.
Somehow I need to transfer the tick values on screen to my internal table.

Data from field symbol into an internal table or workarea

I have field symbol in which i get the data. I want to get this data into an internal table of type any or into an work area. How is this possible.
My declaration for field symbol is as follow:

I get the data in this field symbol <l_t_data>. by passing into a funtion module. and I get the data into it. Now i have to assign the values of this field symbol to any internal table or to a work are how do i do it. Please help.

What is the best way to declare field length 500 in internal table?

what is the best way to declare field length 500(constant value allways) in internal table?
I am trying to send data from internal table to file format, and I have a field in internal table with 500 length (constant value always). So how do I can declare and append this field value to table?

My lov results into the return value instead of the display value in APEX

For 1 of the columns I'm representing in APEX, I choose 'Display as text, based on a lov'. I'm using:

Hello Niels,
Your LOV Displays your concatenated value, but returns the "aan.id" (into the Form field), just as expected. If you want to show the description on your Form, use a PopUp LOV - Displays Description Return Key value

always consistent?
In my program I m creating a dynamic itab and assignig values to it using <FS>, sometimes the program fails to execute assign <Fs> statement...
this happens once in 3 to 4 runs
any solution...
I have proper clear and refresh statements in program.

read statement will always return CO_POS .
while debuging this code a few times
ASSIGN (T_KBETR) TO <FS> .
returns sy-subrc = 4
and that was leading the program to short dump earlier.
now, as I have a check DYNTAB-KBETR holds no value on display.
this happens very few times. (most of the times report is displaying desired output)

As i understood you want to clear only selected fileds not the complet record..
create a Field symobl the loop at the table.. inside the loop check the condtion the just clear the filed.
example: you have itab type mara.
then
FIELD-SYMOBOLS <FS_WA_ITAB> TYPE MARA.
LOOP AT ITAB ASSIGNING <FS_WA_ITAB>.
IF X = XXX (YOUR CONDITION)
CLEAR: <FS_WA_ITAB>-FIELD2,
<FS_WA_ITAB>-FIELD3. (If u want to clear only filed2 and field3)
clear <FS_WA_ITAB>. (if you want to cleatr the complete record)
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
Why iam suggestin the filed-symobol is.. it is direcltly work on internal table body so u no need to update the table agian

I am trying to read the field description of an internal table, which consists of fields from different DD tables. I am able to read the descriptions of a DD table by using FM 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET'.

 Please suggest how to move field symbol data to internal table. The requirement is I have dynamic data in Field symbol which to move to table parameter of a function module.

 In need to pass tabular data i.e. multiple entries from field symbol to the table parameter of the custom function module.
Field symbol is declared as below:
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <FS_EXCEL_TAB> TYPE STANDARD TABLE,
 <FS_TABLE_HEADER> .
DATA WA_PD LIKE PRICE_DOWNLOAD.
APPEND <FS_TABLE_HEADER> TO <FS_EXCEL_TAB>.
CLEAR <FS_TABLE_HEADER>.
WA_PD-VKORG = <FS_EXCEL_TAB>-VKORG.u201D Problem while using this statement
APPEND WA_PD TO PRICE_DOWNLOAD.
 CLEAR WA_PD.
Field symbol <FS_EXCEL_TAB> is populated like this.
VKORG | KUNNR_SH | KUNNR_SP |
0015 | 102105 | 102105 |
Now I need to move this data to table in tables parameter of custom fucntion module.
