Passing values and links

I have two related fields on the form and would like to know how to hide one and have it relate to the other field automatically. I would also like to know whether it is possible to pass a value to four different forms and do the fields you are passing the values have to have the same names? Thanks for your help

Passing values and calling PL/SQL process via a column link

Hello all
I have a report and a link on one of the columns which takes you to another page and passes data from the report to that page. That all works fine. In addition to picking up the details from the report I'd also like the link to call a page process before it goes to the next page using some of the values picked up from the report. This I can get to work by changing the link to a URL and putting in some javascript ie javascript:doSubmit('TEST_PROCESS'); By doing this I "lose" the ability to pass the info from the report via the link.
Can anyone give me a clue as to how I can achieve both please? I'm assuming I'll need to create my own javascript function but I don't know how to pick up information from a row in a report to pass on.

Lets say your link would pass 2 items P1_ITEM and P1_ITEM2 to your process. Just write a quick javascript function to do this and put it in the header:

</script>This will set 2 hidden items equal to whatever you pass in. Then you can use these in your after-submit process. To call this from your url, just make the url:
javascript:doSomething(#COL1#,#COL2#);#COL1# and 2 being your report columns. This should do what you need i think

Passing values to link for MM03

Hello All,
I have a webdynpro report for materials where after clicking on material i am opening MM03 screen to check for the material related information but the problem is i am unable to pass the material number in the new screen we are getting for MM03.
Could you please help me in passing the values to the link i am calling to open the MM03 screen.

this is what i am passing to call MM03 but it does not work. it is not passing the material number available in the variable lv_matnr.

How to pass values and see outout of PL/SQL Tables, SYS_REFCURSORs?

I am new to SQL Developer (Version 3.0.02).
Our QC division wants to test stored procedures using SQL Developer.
I tried to test procedures with PL/SQL tables and SYS_REFCURSORS as input and output parameters.
When we run it by pressing the green arrow we get the Run PL/SQL window.
How can we:
- Put values to SYS_REFCURSOR and PL/SQL table type input parameters?
- How can we display SYS_REFCURSOR and PL/SQL table type output parameters?
All this time we were using SQL*Navigator. In Navigator the PL Tables and SYS_REFCURSORs outputs are shown in a nice grid.
Here, in SQL Developer, do we have to WRITE our own code to input and display these types of parameters????

Yes in SQL Developer 3.0 you will have to write your own code to test out ref cursors.
I had created test harness scripts for all my procedures having ref cursors as parameters.
And I had to dbms_output all the values on the screen.
Probably a limitation of the SQL Developer 3.0 tool.
In case you come across different solution to this do let me know also.

Passing values and calling other classes?

Hello all.
I have 2 classes(separate .java files). One is a login class and the other is the actual program. Login class(eventually exe file) should open the other class and pass the login parameters if you know what I mean. Is this possible, or do the 2 classes need to be part of one file?

Login class can be another class in another file
wht u have to do is to make an instance of login class in the class u want to use that class
like login lg = new Login();
and call method of login class
lg.setUser(username);
where setUser(String user); is a method of login class
this way u can pass the parameters to login class

APEX - passing values from LOV's or multi-select LOV's to another APEX form

I am new APEX development and I need to take the values from LOV's and multi-select LOV's and pass them to another APEX form. I want to take those passed values and use them in the where clause of the base-table in the called form. Any assistance would be greately appreciated.

How to pass value standard program to Workflow after than to call Transaction

    While We are Cancel any PO in Me29n, it will Pass values(Like reason for cancel With PO No) and Send a mail (User name whose reject the cancel against Release of PO No) in workflow inbox(workplace) After than getting a mail any particular User, they will See the Message of Purchase order against Canceled. After then they will double click on that message it will trigger ME29N Tcode with the particular PO.
        Using with Badi in Me29N we have to Passed Values and sent a Mail in work place but When Double click on Message I Dont Know HOw to Call ME29N in work place....
     Cancel Po in Me29N-->WORK PLACE --> Double click on message,will call ME29N
   So, please help me how to i can Rectified this.

How to pass values of the prompt through Action Link - URL in 11g

I am in OBIEE 11g v6.
Let's say, I have two dashbaord pages P1 and P2.
P1 page contains
1. Prompt PR1 - containing a single column EmpName
2. Report R1
P2 page contains
1. Prompt PR2 - containing a single column EmpName (same column as in PR1)
2. Report R2
Requirement :
Let's say a user select a value = David from the EmpName column in prompt PR1. In the Report R1, on one the measure columns 'Sales', I am using an action link - Navigate to URL ( I can't use Navigate to BI Content for some reasons). In the URL, I am giving the URL to page P2. Can I pass the selected value (which is David) to the EmpName column of the Prompt PR2 of Page P2 so that Report R2 is automatically limited by David when I land on that page through the URL?
Few things to consider are, I can't use EmpName column in my report R1 on page P1, I just want to pass the value of a common column from one prompt on Page1 to another prompt on Page2. Is that possible. Can anybody please help?

Hmm can you give a try one more time with
Add EmpName name and hide it on report R1 on page P1
and set EmpName as Is Prompted on report R2 on page P2 and with my earlier steps should work.
Other option is read this doc once that helps you how to pass value thru url.

Pass variable and set default value based on user's group

I'm using SharePoint 2010 and SQL 2012. I need to send a variable to the page and based on its value, set default value for a drop down list and send it to other web part to filter the data. Is it possible for certain users to send that value as a default
and limit user to see only this value in the text field or drop down list; for others - to allow to see the drop down list, but also set the default value for that list?
The main page was designed in SharePoint designer, using web parts (aspx page). I had setup a connection to Active Directory and already have the code to get user's groups and based on their group, I have that variable pulled into the web page for further
use. But I don't know how to pass that value as a default value to the web part (currently using SharePoint Filter web part). When I tried to set a default value for the web part - it automatically puts the quotation marks around the name of the variable
and shows it as a text instead of showing the value of the field.

Thank you for your response. I'll try to give you more details. On PageA I check user's groups and based on the group, assign the value and pass it to the next page (no input from the user, all done behind the scene and user is redirected to PageB).
On the next page I read that value and would like to send it to the SharePoint List Filter Web as a default value, as well as send it to another web part that displays the list from SQL, filtered using that default value. Ideally, if the user is from Group
A, I'd like for them to have only one value in that drop down list; if user is from Group B - give him drop down list with 40 items to choose from. Below there is a part of the code and variable fnum has the value from PageA (if I print the value on the screen
- I do see that it has correct value, so the code that gets groups from Active directory works correctly). If I assign fnum as a default value of the list, it shows "fnum" instead of the value of variable fnum. I connect to SQL database, using external
content - so the other list that I'm filtering based on the value in that drop down list - is XSLT Data View Web part. I also have 2 more filters on that page, that user will have full access to and based on their input, it is also sent to the XSLT web part
to filter out more data. Since one of the filters is the date and I am filtering data starting from the date that user chooses - XSLT is the only web part that I was able to make it work with.
I looked at the link you provided (thank you). It is using Content Query Web part. Will it work with external content, as well as accepting multiple filtering, including custom starting date? I appreciate your help!

[ipad] SplitView and passing value to DetailViewController

i'm creating a Splitview project
in my RootViewController i have a table view
that when use didSelectRowAtIndexPath load another one tableview with WithNibName method;
When i try to pass a value from a selected cell to the detailview doesn't work without error;
to test i try to pass value to detailview from second table loading it as first one table in pop control and it work;
what am i forgetting?

I removed the alert view code to simplify things, and I would recommend leaving it out until you get the above, basic transition working correctly.
Are you presenting the alert view so the user can decide whether or not the detail view should be opened? If so, you might want something like this:

The code which brings up the detail view is placed in the alert view delegate method because the main thread isn't suspended after [alert show]. Note the link which must be passed to the detail view has been saved in the 'title' property of the alert view, so it's already available in the alert view delegate method.

Navigate between 2 reports and pass values between 2 different columns

Hello
I have a question about navigating from 1 report to another while passing the value from column 1 to column 2 in the second report...
In OBIEE 11G, I create action link on report 1, column 1 and this action link is navigate to BI Content and the destination is report 2. Now report 2 has column 2, which is an alias of column 1 from report 1, from user's point of view they are the same, but from OBIEE point of view they are different.
My action link is able to navigate to report 2, however, the value in column 1 which I clicked to execute the navigation, does not get passed to column 2 in report 2..
Is there a way around this issue?
