Reg passing values to a link

Hi all,
Is it possible to pass values to a link. The requirement is i need to pass some values to a standard transaction link and the values which i pass should go to the respective fields of the link.
Can anyone suggest?

How to pass values of the prompt through Action Link - URL in 11g

Hi All,
I am in OBIEE 11g v6.
Let's say, I have two dashbaord pages P1 and P2.
P1 page contains
1. Prompt PR1 - containing a single column EmpName
2. Report R1
P2 page contains
1. Prompt PR2 - containing a single column EmpName (same column as in PR1)
2. Report R2
Requirement :
Let's say a user select a value = David from the EmpName column in prompt PR1. In the Report R1, on one the measure columns 'Sales', I am using an action link - Navigate to URL ( I can't use Navigate to BI Content for some reasons). In the URL, I am giving the URL to page P2. Can I pass the selected value (which is David) to the EmpName column of the Prompt PR2 of Page P2 so that Report R2 is automatically limited by David when I land on that page through the URL?
Few things to consider are, I can't use EmpName column in my report R1 on page P1, I just want to pass the value of a common column from one prompt on Page1 to another prompt on Page2. Is that possible. Can anybody please help?

Hmm can you give a try one more time with
Add EmpName name and hide it on report R1 on page P1
and set EmpName as Is Prompted on report R2 on page P2 and with my earlier steps should work.
Other option is read this doc once that helps you how to pass value thru url.

Passing values to link for MM03

Hello All,
I have a webdynpro report for materials where after clicking on material i am opening MM03 screen to check for the material related information but the problem is i am unable to pass the material number in the new screen we are getting for MM03.

this is what i am passing to call MM03 but it does not work. it is not passing the material number available in the variable lv_matnr.

Passing Call values to a linked Request created by IPK Workflow

I know how to transfer a Call values to a linked Request when creating it manually from a Call screen.
But (how) is it possible to specify Call fields which values should be submitted to a Request when it is created automatically by IPK Workflow Rules processing?

Pass Values from Interactive Report

Hello,
I am sure this is an easy question, but I haven't been able to find the solution myself.
I have an interactive report that has 6 columns, which are:
Last Name
First Name
Day
Start Time
End Time
Link Column
I need to assign an ID which is not shown in the report, the Day, Start Time, and End Time to variables P5_IDX, P5_DAY, P5_START, and P5_END to be used
as Display only items on another page. I can only pass 3 values using the column link in the IR.
Is there another way to pass more than 3 values from an interactive report? Sorry if this has been asked and answered previously. I searched the forums and didn't find an answer, but maybe a searched with the wrong keywords.

As per my understanding ur requirement is as below.
When the user clicks the 'Link Column' it should redirect to another page with the value of id, Day, Start Time, and End Time.
Hope all the cloumns are from the same table.
As Denes said, it is enought to pass the ID value to the link column as of below.
ie., u can modify ur query as of below.
SELECT Last Name,First Name,Day,Start Time,End Time, ID as "Link Column"
FROM t.
Now u can pass the value as #Link Column# which will pass the ID value to the next page.
Hope my understanding is correct.

Â You are correct.Â The Viewer object will not automatically look at the URL and try to assign the values.Â You need to grab these values from the URL and properly assign them to the parameter objects.

Issue passing values to text symbols in Dynamic text PDF forms

Hello Everyone,
I am facing a problem related to Dynamic texts in Adobe PDF forms (Text node of type include text). I am able to pass the dynamic values to the Text node properties but i am not able to pass the values to Text symbols inside the Text node. When tested it says the field not found. I have the same structure and field in the CONTEXT as that of the text symbol. The problem i see is because in PDF the field names have $record.(fieldname) ?
Please share your thoughts if anyone has faced similar problem or know how to handle it.

Open the report up in the Designer and Click on Edit, Subreport Links. Likely what you can do is use Shared Variables to pass values from the main report to the subreport.
You need to do this in the report first. If you are using RAS then you can at runtime. If RAS is not available to you then no way in code.

In portlets, how to use a html form passing values to the another page?

it is well known that in web developing , we have two methods to pass values to another page.
but how to use two methods in oracle portal portlets?
I have got a simple example which submit two values to the page for itself, means a page has a form with submit botton, user input the form with values and then submit them by submit botton, then the page recevice those values and show it .

Passing "-t" option to link-editor via CC

Hi!
Here is the simple task.
we have some source file which is compiling with simple command:
CC ./some_simple_file.C -lsome_lib -lanother_libCompilation process succed but we have the warning message:
ld: warning: symbol array has differing sizes:
(file /path/libsome_lib.a value=0x4; file /path/libanother_lib.o value=0x8);
/path/libsome_lib.a definition takenWell, apart from this warning - all works fine and the link-editor do matching symbol correctly in this case.
To do not confuse users/parsers/mgrs team - we decided to remove this warning. Ok, here is a quote from sun linker document about "how to remove such warning" in section "Symbols Processing"->"Complex resolution":
+....In both of these cases, the diagnostic can be suppressed by using the link-editor's -t option....+
Thats nice! Lets go with this new option:
CC -t ./some_simple_file.C -lsome_lib -lanother_libWe finally removed warning. But...oops! weve got another one!
CC: Warning: Option -t passed to ld, if ld is invoked, ignored otherwiseQuestion! How we can pass -t option to the link-editor via CC cmd call and without any warnings?

There doesn't seem to be a way to pass -t to the linker without the warning. You could file a request for enhancement via your Oracle support channel, if you have a service contract. Or you could file one at [http://bugs.sun.com]. (I'm not sure if that site is still active.)
The best solution is to fix the problem and eliminate the reason for the warning, by making the declarations consistent. You might suppress warnings that matter if you always use -t.

Passing value from Webdynpro ABAP to Adobe form..

In first view of web dynpro, im getting employee id as input and after clicking the create new button, an adobe form is called
to create the employee details ( in form i used the submit button and i stored the details ). so, in tat form i used the employee id as read only mode and it has to display the value which i given as input. But in tat form im not getting the value from web dynpro..
can anyone plz help me out for this..

Try to set your values in Method->"wddomodify" of the View in which Adobe Form is present. How to pass value from report to form?

I built a report and I create button on report too. This
button will show a form that I want it to automatically show
receivable values from report so that user don't complete them.
So I create a button on the report . I enter Javascript in

Yes, you have it correct in what I am trying to do and if I put a default value in the hidden item on page 2 and run it then that works fine. I just can't get the value from the form passed to page 2 for some reason. There are actually 22 items on the form that can be filtered but just using COREID for simplicity. When I run the form I am just entering a value in the COREID field to try and return those records. Most of the other items on the form are displayed as Popup LOV(fetches first row). Would the values of all these be done the same in a comma delimited list for the items and values? I was trying to get at least one of them working first. Here is the search result that comes up in the debug window:

JSP Custom Tags, Tag Handlers, Passing values

Multiple questions here while I try to work with custom tags (its a requirement):
From what I have had so far - I have a .tld file, a .java file and a .jsp page.
(this is not a working version as I just got it from a website)

I was wondering if we can pass the parameters that are passed to the the jsp page (like blah.jsp?param1=value1&param2=valu2 ) to the tag handler?
This is because the processing that I need to do in the handler would depend on what I have in the passed values.
Any help in letting me know where to place those files on the tomcat context root would help. Please see, I do have a couple of servlets running on the box also and they might be in the same context root.
Any good short tutorial link is also welcome as a short answer as I try to unravel the custom tags in jsp.

I am using TomCat 5.5
What I need to do using tags is to build a web-page on the fly by polling a couple of different tables in the database.
This is to be done using a jsp and custom tag (requirement) which would be able to handle any resultsets. We also have to come up with pageContext attribute names and supply column names as those attributes. Thus we will have to come up with the meta data file and a tag library descriptor as well.
I found a helloworld solution on a website and was trying to modify it to meet my needs. But I guess I under-estimated the work that needed to be done in this one.

Setting default value based on Link

I have a report with a link to a form. The link is a standard portal component link.
The link passes in cus_id.
I would like to set the default value of the form cus_id field to the cus_id value from the link when the form is presented in insert mode due to the expected situation where no record for the cus_id exists.
I have tried using the following function in default value:
NVL(portal30.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value('A_CUS_ID','LEVEL_TWO_FORM'),0)
I have tried both CUS_ID and A_CUS_ID, but neither seems to return a value.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I was able to reproduce this. The problem occurs because when referencing another page def (binding container) than the current one, this binding container needs to be "prepared" which is done by calling method refreshControl() on the binding container. For binding containers of parent groups, JHeadstart automatically prepares them as prat of the prepareModel phase of the current binding container. However, when clicking the AddRow button, this is too late, the default value expression is evakluated before the prepareModel phase.
A simple work around is to manually add the value binding "masterField" and its iterator binding to the page definition of the detail group. You can then use the expression "#{bindings.masterfield.inputValue} and that should work.
Note that in JHeadstart 10.1.3.3, we will add a "jhsPageDefs" managed bean that extends HashMap, which allows you to retrieve "prepared" binding containers. You can then use the expression
#{jhsPageDefs['MasterWizardGroupPageDef'].masterfield.inputValue}

as it will
answer your question. #property can be a range of values.
Place a Flash sprite, get its properties, click the Options
button,
click Help...
