Passivation errors on Weblogic clustered setup.

          Hi,
I have a Weblogic 6.0 SP2 clustered setup. If I change the deployment descriptor
          and set the
max-beans-in-cache to 2 and create 3 instances of a stateful ejb, it gets passivated
without any exceptions, but if the application runs for a long time, passivation
          errors occur.
          I get the following exceptions:
          ####<Aug 4, 2003 4:04:36 PM GMT> <Info> <Cluster> <HQBUSA55> <enrolem2> <ExecuteThread:

          Please give me your suggestions.
          Thanks,
          Bhumika

There are known issues with SFSBs not being serializble in 6.1. see if you can
          upgrade or increase cache size.

  • Problems with weblogic clustering setup

Hi all, I'm having problems extending a weblogic 9.2 cluster from vertical to orizontal. The environment is composed by two physical servers A and B. On A it's running the node manager, the admin console and two nodes, on B I've just installed weblogic 9.2, registered the licence.
I'm reading this guide: http://egeneration.beasys.com/wls/docs103/cluster/setup.html#wp742559 but I think this guide is non clear.
    1) I added the new machine into the admin console
    2) I added the new server to the configuration (environmnent -> cluster)
    3) I created a new node on the new server and I associate it to the cluster and machine.
moreover I checked the ports so that it should be set correctly.
After I start the nodemanager into B and after adminconsole from A tries to connect to B I get this into the console

should server A and B have the same domain configuration? (same files)
    Regards

Yes, you must have the same domain configuration on the server B. Usually I copy the domain directory on the server B to have the same configuration. the directory with "salt file" should be the "<domain_dir>/security"...
    Hope this helps...

  • Weblogic clustering with IIS as web server

              Hi,
I have two IIS servers and two machines for weblogic. I am planning to have
a weblogic clustering. I have seen the documentation online. But has some questions
for which dint find any answers.
Somewhere on the newsgroup I read , if we will be having IIS proxy-plug in we
do not need the DNS setup. Is that true ?
How many IPs and other things I need to do this setup ? What is admin server &
its role ? configuration how to do it is not avaliable in the documentation.
              Could someone help ?
              Thanks and Regards,

  • Problems with weblogic clustering in 6.1 sp3

We have spent a lot of time trying to get our application deployed to
a cluster using weblogic 6.1 sp3 and we consistently receive a failure
when we attempt to start the managed server. This was not a problem
with weblogic sp1--we got our application to deploy to the cluster
successfully; although there was another weblogic bug there with
clients accessing EJB clusters--we won't go into that here...
We have tried this on both a Windows 2000 machine and an HP machine
running weblogic sp3. The same error occurs on both platforms.
The error in deploying our application to the cluster against weblogic
sp3 looks to have to do with our custom security realm. Inside our
custom realm we make use of a configurable providerUrl which we set to
the cluster address/port. The custom realm makes a call where it
              passes in the providerUrl to:
                   weblogic.management.Helper.getMBeanHome(..., providerUrl,...)
When we have our providerUrl set to the cluster address/port--e.g.,
                   t3://clustermember1:7001
and attempt to start the managed server we get the error:
              Starting WebLogic Server ....
              Connecting to http://adminserver:7117...
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
              Exception raised:

              Reason: Fatal initialization exception
When we have our providerUrl set to the admin server address--e.g.,
                   t3://adminserver:7117
              everything starts up fine.
Does anyone know why this would work on sp1 and not sp3 of weblogic
              6.1?
We verified that all passwords are correct and everything else we
could determine--any ideas would be helpful.
We don't want the providerUrl to point at our admin server, we want it
to point at the cluster address/port.
When we get the managed server error, we received this error on the
              AdminServer:

    Bottom line:
In our custom realm we were not handling user guest correctly. Even if you
have guest user disabled, Weblogic seems to have hard-coded guest to
send messages to the cluster every-so-often. Not sure there--couldn't get
an answer out of bea as to exactly why we see guest still being used...
It seems that with sp3, the user guest interaction started happening earlier
than it did with sp1, consequently making our realm code fail when trying to
retrieve the guest user like someone we knew about in our system.
Hence, our getUser and authUserPassword methods now return null for both
users guest and system, making the secondary realm (file realm) be used to
              authenticate and resolve guest & system. BEA helped get our code fixed;
however, we still don't have a lot of depth in understanding Weblogic
              server's use of guest...
Apparently, in 7.x the guest & system user behavior and configuration is
different also... We'll see when we start digging into that migration.

  • Active and backup weblogic cluster setup

    Env: wls10 MP1 running on RHEL 4/5.
I want to setup a scheme where a weblogic application (clients connect thru ejb/t3 interface) is deployed on two independent weblogic clusters.
I want to mark one cluster as active at a time and the backup cluster to take over when the active is down. This fail over need not be automatic (can be manual).
Is setting up a proxy (for the 2 clusters )the right way to approach this ? Clients connect to the proxy address which can then decide which cluster to route to ?
The client could probably use the cluster address as t3://cluster1Addr,cluster2Addr ?
    Thanx,

I guess you need hardware loadbalalncer. I doubt you can acheive this federation with weblogic pre-built-in capabilities.

  • Weblogic Clustering 6.1

              I've 2 weblogic servers 6.1 sp2 with a big-ip load balancer. How do I configure
cluster for the 2 weblogic server? I'm new to this.
              Thanks.

Clustering setup is very easy in 6.x
Just create a cluster. Specify multicast Address
              Create a managed servers
Target these managed servers to the Cluster.
Start Admin ,& managed servers. You are ready to go!.

  • Weblogic clustering problem (4.0.4)

We currently have two Weblogic servers setup in a clustered configuration.
The cluster seems to operate fine and the clients can use both servers. The
only problem I have seen is that if the client is not shutdown gracefully then
it's connections to the Primary Weblogic server get closed but the ones that
are on the second server in the cluster remain open. Is there a timeout I can
specify in the server to automatically kill those client connections?

I found answer to my question.
    Yes it is available.
It is now “Oracle Communications Converged Application Server”

  • Possible to support 2 domains on one clustered setup?

    Hello!
Is it possible to support two domains (say abc.com and xyz.com) off one
single clustered setup? We have 2 Netscape servers and 2 WebLogic servers,
              clustered, currently serving abc.com
(weblogic.httpd.session.cookie.domain=.abc.com). We'd like to also run
xyz.com off the same hardware; we can bind additional IP addresses on the
servers to support the new domain (and run separate instances of the
software), but how to we get around the 'hard-coded' domain name used to
identify the cookie? According to the documentation, if we leave
weblogic.httpd.session.cookie.domain blank, the full machine name
(machine1.abc.com or machine1.xyz.com?) will be used when the cookie is
written, breaking up the cluster (as the session id will only be good for
              one machine).
Is it possible to dynamically set the domain name when writing the cookie?
              Is there a different approach?
              Many thanks in advance!

  • Error starting weblogic Admin server

    Hi All,
I am not very familiar with Fusion and weblogic but here is my situation:
Background: I am trying to install Fusion Middleware so I can integrate Oracle Transport Management with E-Business Suite (as per note Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with Oracle BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g (Doc ID 1321776.1))
I just installed the following on Oracle Enterprise  Linux 64bits
    - SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0
    - Weblogic Server 10.3.6
    -JDK 1.7.0_25
    -Jdev 11.1.1.7.0
When starting the weblogic Admin server using "DOMAIN_HOME/startWebLogic.sh' I get an error:
    Starting weblogic with Java version:
    Unrecognized option -jrockit
Error: Could not create the Java virtual machine
I found a few thread with similar issue (for different versions of SOA suite)  where it got fixed by changing some parameters in the cmd file but I am not sure they apply to my case.
Is the jdk version compatible? (I can start JDeveloper ok) , if not which one is the appropriate version. If i need to change it, can you provide details of how to do it? (I am not expert on SOA/Jdev  )
Can you please help me here ?
    Thanks in advance!

    Well, I tested it
java -version and it shows :
    1.7.0_25
Java HotSpot 64 bit Server VM
--> So I guess the problem is I don't seem to have the jrockit.
I donwloaded it (Rel 28.7) and installed it. During installation it says "for JDK 1.6.0_45"
Anyway. I let it install anyway and I modified the PATH to point to the Jrockit bin directory. Then run java -version and it now shows JDK 1.6.0_45 and jvm as rockit
Now I tried to start the weblogic server and I get the same error. it still uses the JDK 1.7
So.. again.. is this supported with JDK 7 ?
How can I fix it now that I installed everything using the JDK 7?
    Thanks

  • Error Message: JBO-28020: Passivation error on collection TXN, node id -1

    Hi all!
I've got this error when I try to run my BC4J Application:
Error Message: JBO-28020: Passivation error on collection TXN, node id -1
Error Message: JBO-28030: Could not insert row into table PCST_TXN, id -1
    on this env:
    SUN SOLARIS 2.7
    OC4J DEV Preview (9.0.2.0.0A)
    DB 9i + patchset 9.0.2
The SAME APPLICATION works right when deployed on this env:
    W2k
    OC4J part of JDEV9iRC2 (9.0.2.0.0)
remote DB 9i + patchset 9.0.2 on SUN SOLARIS
The Application Module is deployed as a Session Bean (BMT),
and I have a jdbc Datasource called jdbc/DeployDBDS.
I have also modified jbo.ejb.txntype from "global" to "local"
because with "global" it doesn't work...
    Anyone can help me?
    regards
    Felix

First you'll want to read this BC4J "HowTo" article on how our persistent collection functionality works so you can decide whether you not you really want to be using it.
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/bc4j/bc4j_temp_tables.html
Likely you don't want to be, so this article explains how to avoid having its being used. It's typically a "last resort" feature that saves appserver memory by writing extra query results rows out to persistent storage if you query thousands of rows into memory and start scrolling around.
Down in your stack trace there is the error:
    ORA-600: [19942]
This is a database internal error related to handling CLOB's and BLOB's. I see a few bugs that were reported in versions 8.0.5 but fixed in 8.1.6.
What version of the Oracle database are you using?

  • OIM installation on RAC DB and Weblogic clusters

I understand its a very broad question but tell me the links/resource/metalink documents references for installing OIM 9.1.0.1 on Weblogic clusters and Oracle RAC DB clusters ? (either or both)
Is OIM 9.1.0.1 compatible with Oracle RAC DB 10gR2 ? I have checked the configuration matrix but still not sure on it. Can anybody confirm this ?
I have gone through the basic installation guide for the same but I still find loopholes in it. If anybody has made any document for his/her purpose, please let me know, very appreciative!
It does not give information about the schema design needed for OIM on Oracle RAC DB like -
1.) During installation of OIM, we need to specify the "User Name" and "Password" of the database account that is created for Oracle Identity Manager.
So is that user needed to be created with all the necessary privileges in RAC DB before starting this installation ?
    Thanks in advance,
    - oidm.

    Hey there,
I have checked the certification matrix but still just wanted to specifically know about compatibility of OIM 9.1.0.1 with Oracle RAC DB 10.2.0.2 ? Do they go hand in hand ?
    Thanks,
    - oidm.

While I'm able to deploy without the CMP 1-1 relationship, the moment I introduce the 1-1 relationship, I get this error. Database used is Oracle 10g XE.
I have been battling this error for more than a day now. Kindly help me fix this.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi,
I was able to figure out the root cause. I was using the primitive data type "int" for primary key and foreign key for one of the beans in the relationship. After I changed it to "Integer" wrapper type, the issue got resolved.
