Password protected JDev10g 9052 build 1618

I downloaded the jdev9052.zip file from otn yesterday since I like to keep up to date on my development tools.
When I unpacked it today, I was presented with the message that several files were password protected. What's up with that?
The files are:
* javaw.exe
* hpi.dll
* ioser12.dll
* java.dll
* net.dll
* jvm.dll
* verify.dll
* zip.dll
Can somebody PLEASE direct me to a passphrase I can use to unpack these files.
And might I add; If this is a stunt from Oracle to increase the purchase level of it's products, it might be usefull to provide information on this before people start downloading what they think is a fully operational product.

One impact of extracting on top of an old version of the product is that any extensions you had for the old version will continue to be loaded in the new version. Because the extension API has changed, these may fail at runtime in unexpected ways. Basically, files don't get deleted that have been removed in the new release.
This of course brings up the old debate about whether JDev should have an installer... with an installer, you wouldn't have to worry about this (it would be the job of the installer to worry about it).
That said, a lot of people really like the simple zip-and-go approach JDev takes to installation. Just always zip-and-go somewhere fresh... that's the tested and supported configuration, and we've had a few reports of problems when customers have extracted atop old releases.
Thanks,
Brian

    The XSS <style selector=...> is not honored in conjunction with the <html:img> tag.
    1. Create an xss style:
    <style selector=".handIconGroup">
    <property name="cursor">hand</property>
    <includeStyle name="DarkAccentBackground"/>
    </style>
    2. Create a UIX page and add the following widgets:
    a. <html:img style="handIconGroup" ... />
    b. <textInput sytle=handIconGroup" ... />
    4. Run the page, and hover over both widgets.
    I expected the cursor to turn into a "hand" when hovered over both widgets. The <html:img ... /> tag dose not respect the handIconGroup style.

  • Labview 8.6.1 - builder message vi is password protected

    I am new in Labview 8.6.1 and I am receiving some messages that I can not explain why. While labview is building an executable I have few messages like the one posted in attachment. The messages are related to the vis that are part of Labview library and are password protected. Usually I ignore the messages. I wonder why I see such messages.
    Another question: in Labview 7.1.1 you can see entire hierarchy of the project you want to build an executable from just in the builder by exploring the table from the VI Settings. Is it possible to see similar thing in Labview 8.6? Or Labview 8.6 builds from entire project no meter if I set the builder in a certain way with only some vis from entire project?
    Solved!

    Hi Virginia...,
    did you check the field to change/remove the password?
    The builder will only include the vi's from always included and all dependences of this plus all dynamically vi's with also all dependences.

  • Can I set up form results to be viewed in a password protected area?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a form to capture leads for my new lead capture website. I have a bankruptcy business and would like another, new website that I can capture bankruptcy leads from a form. A lead would, of course, be someone who comes to my site and is interested in contacting with an attorney to schedule a free consultation by filling out an online form - "name, state, county, debts, etc.)
    What I would like to do is set up a nationwide site and sell, refer, give, trade? leads from other states to other local attorneys.
    So, my question is, could I set up a form with FormsCentral that I could integrate with a password protected section of my website that the other lawyers could login to in order to check form results? Could it be set so many different users (ie lawyers advertising on my site) could login to check results for their personalized form (for example lawyer A in State A can log into his own private page to check results from Form A, lawyer B in State B can login to a private page to check results from form B and so on and so forth...) Would I need a developer to code this application? Any help would be appreciated.
    Obviously this project was a larger than I expected.
    Thanks a lot!

    We likely wouldn't be a good fit for this. You'll likely have to build a custom application (developer doing coding) to support your use case.

  • Password protected PDF files not opening in Android

    Hi
    I was trying to open my credit card statement on my Android Galaxy S2 I9100 phone. Although it looks like that the Adobe reader 10.0.2 version (Build 40862) is capable of opening  Password protected files but I got an error "The document cannot be  opened because it is corrupted or damaged."
    I tried downloading it multiple times but faced the same issue. I googled and found that the similar issue has been reported by other users as well.
    Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Anuj Aggarwal

    Hi Anuj,
    Normally this error message comes when the pdf content is corrupt.
    Can you provide us with few more details to help us narrow down the cause.
    1. Are you able to open it on Desktop Adobe Reader ?
    2. Are you not able to open any of your credit card statements ?
    3. If possible can you share the pdf with us, so that we can isolate the issue at our end(your data will be kept confidential). If not can you share the name of the bank on which your credit card is issued so that we can get hold of similar pdf ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IWeb had a password protected site capability. Now what can I use that gives me an equivalent functionality?

    Greetings All,
    I took over the web site for a club using iWeb. This worked great for several years (2009 to June 30, 2012). I still use iWeb today (minus the password protected members only portion). We have a need for a members only section of the website that is password protected. I put our records, roster, financial notes, members visual directory, etc behind this password protected site. I used iWeb and it was very easy. I have not had this functionality since July 1, 2012 with the demise of mobile me. This is very important to our club and I want to know what other product I can use to make a website with password protection? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brandon

    As Roger has already stated, this password protection needs to be set up on your server directly with the loss of this function with the demise of MobileMe.
    There is another alternative however and that would be to re-build/transfer your site to one of the Content Management Systems, such as Joomla, Drupal or WordPress.org if your web host offers this facility.  Most good web hosts will allow you to install the CMS's on your server and some have one click installation available.
    It is very easy to set up password protected parts of your site using a Content Management System such as Joomla, because it is linked to a database that you need to link to.  If you install it manually on your host, then you need to set up the database too and then link together, but most now have one click install, where the database is set up for you automatically - not as much flexibility like this over a manual install, but you can set up protected areas of the site and allow memebers to join and set up parts of the site that only members can get to. You can also set up different grades of membership too, so some can see some parts and others not.
    If your site is in need to a revamp then consider this, otherwise stick with iWeb and just set up password protection directly on your server.

  • Need work around for image gallery with password protected URLs

    Is there a way to display an image gallery that has password protected URLs?
    I can build the image gallery in Siena using an excel table with a list of the images and when I preview the app inside Siena I get the expected credentials prompt from IE, and I enter the credentials and the images load and display with their captions perfectly.
    There are 4-6 images in the gallery.
    When I publish and produce a store app, the app errors out with can’t connect and obviously fails on
        var GenericInitError = "The app could not connect to the server. Please try again later.",
            GenericInitTitle = "Network error";
    Most likely because Siena wants to preload everything and there is no way with preload to enter credentials.
    I am looking for any alternatives that would let me get around this.
    TIA

    Nope. The app accesses a group of IP Security cameras. Static images would not
    make any sense. And authentication is required. Not negotiable.

  • Distributing Password Protected PDF's via Information Broadcasting

    Is it possible to password protect a distributed report (pdf format) using individual Member's unique password?
    Then, can we easily administer the (e.g. user-create/e-mail confirmation) the actual passwords?

    What about the Java Cryptography Extension framework for PDFs?
    Can NetWeaver support this....
    http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/trunk/pdfencryption.html
    Environment
    In order to use PDF encryption, FOP has to be compiled with cryptography support. Currently, only JCE is supported. JCE is part of JDK 1.4. For earlier JDKs, it can be installed separately. The build process automatically detects JCE presence and installs PDF encryption support if possible, otherwise a stub is compiled in.

  • A simple way to password protect my personal website?

    I have an online photo album, and I don't necessarily want everyone to have access to my baby pics and me running around in my underwear when I was seven years old, so I want to password-protect the site. I have a good basic knowledge of building a site using DW-MX, but I admit that it's not very advanced. :>(( Does DW have a built-in ability to password-protect, or should I use something else?
    I don't code HTML myself, but I think I could follow a tutorial as long as it's not too technical. I'm a bit hesitant that I'm going to bungle things in trying to implement a password, so I want to make sure I do this right.
    Ideally I'd like to have a password field on my index/splash page, which one would need to pass in order to access any other sub-page. My host is GoDaddy, but I believe I've asked them about this possibility, and they just made suggestions for me - they didn't offer to do it themselves.

    Does your goDaddy host support php? if so put a form similar to the one below on your index page i.e., asking for a 'password' and 'username'
    <form action="password_protected.php" method="get">
    <p>Username<br />
    <input name="username" id="username" type="text" /></p>
    <p>Password<br />
    <input name="password" id="password" type="text" /></p>
    <label for="button"></label>
    <p><input type="submit" name="login" id="login" value="Login" />
    </form></p>
    Then create another page in DW and save it as password_protected.php. Open it in DW, go into code view and delete everything. Copy the below php code and paste it into the empty file and save it. Change the username and password from 'Pink', 'Elephant' to what you require and change the first url link from http://www.bbc.co.uk to that of the page you want protected and change http://www.itv.co.uk to that of the page you wish to send the user to if they do not supply the correct details.
    <?php
    $username = $_GET['username'];
    $password = $_GET['password'];
    if($username == "Pink" && $password == "Elephant") {
                header("Location: http://www.bbc.co.uk"); }
                else {
                    header("Location: http://www.itv.co.uk");

  • Why do "official" NXT blocks have to be password protected?

    Like everyone, I'm new to building NXT blocks with LabVIEW.  The projects we had in mind when we got LabVIEW were to combine and modify existing NXT-G blocks to make them more suitable for our purposes.  However, the first thing I learned was that the block diagrams to all of the existing blocks are password protected.  Therefore, instead of being able to take the easy approach of modify the work that has already been done, we have to start from scratch.  Does anyone know why NI won't let the public have access to the block diagrams?

    Hi Eagles Coach,
    The existing NXT blocks contain several different VIs with proprietary software. Like any other software company, it is in National Instruments' best interest to protect the original source code the NXT software was built upon.
    So, rather than leaving eager programmers such as yourself in the dark we created an NXT Toolkit which provides all NXT VIs not deemed proprietary. You have the means to create your own blocks while National Instruments keeps important software practices internal.
    If you're looking for examples so you don't have to start from scratch, simply peruse the examples included with the Toolkit! C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\NXTToolkit contains several relevant examples for just about any application, and if you hit any bumps just post to the discussion forum.
    Cheers.

    You can try to open the documents with a password that is guaranteed to be wrong, i.e. a password that isn't used for any of the documents. If the document has no password, Word will open it without complaining - it only checks the password if the document
    is password-protected. If the document does have a password, error 5408 will occur, and you can trap this error with an error handler. For example, with a variable doc of type Document and a variable strPath of type String that contains the full path of a
    document:
    On Error Resume Next
    Set doc = Documents.Open(FileName:=strPath, PasswordDocument:="!@#$%")
    If Err = 0 Then ' no error occurred
    ' Process the document
    ' And close it
    doc.Close SaveChanges:=True ' or False

  • How can I offer individual password protected pdfs on my site.

    I am building a site for a client of mine.  His business is a music talent agency.  He would like that on the page of the individual artist, there be a link to download a pdf that only that artist can download if he/she enters a correct password.  I think from reading other posts that I can simply offer a pdf download link and have that pdf password protected when I initially create the pdf itself in adobe acrobat.  Are there other ways of doing this or is that the best route to go?  All responses appreciated.

    Hi,
    For protecting PDFs, I am afraid you do need Acrobat, and here's how you accomplish applying password protection: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-tips-and-tricks/protecting-your-pdf-using-a-password/
    With this approach, you may have to reassign unique passwords to PDFs and ensure right passwords are communicated to the right people (there is not sign-in option) - that may be a bit of challenge.
    Alternatively, with some basic scripting you could allow right people to download the right PDFs. This will need some mapping at the DB level.
    Or, you could also leverage social media and use the OAuth mechanism to ensure that the users log in via social sites to download PDFs that are unique to them. Look forward to your thoughts.

  • Can I password protect my FTP website

    My site was built in iWeb 3.0.4, and originally hosted on MobileMe. Now it's hosted by a local service provider via FTP, so the "Make my published site private" option is not available to me any more.
    I'd actually like to build an Intranet for my company, which will include confidential info like locking up the building, passwords etc., so it's really important to limit access to employees only.
    Is there a way to do this?

    You can password protect a website directory - it's not completely uncrackable but will do for most purposes. The method is described here:
    http://css-tricks.com/easily-password-protect-a-website-or-subdirectory/
    This requires createing an .htaccess file and one other similar - the dot means they are hidden. Not all services will allow this. The page tells you what to put in the file; to create it, create the file in a plain text editor and call it htaccess. Upload it to the directory in question, then using your FTP program rename it to add the dot on the beginning, .htaccess - it will promptly disappear.
