Pasta Landscape Printing via XML Publisher

Hi ,
I have followed Pasta Config Guide 3.0 .
We're on 11.5.10 and Purchase Orders Report(Both Landscape and Portrait are configured - two separate "reports") via XML Publisher comes out fine in PDF in Portrait and Landscape when viewing the PDF , but when I set the conncurrent request to print to a printed , the Portrait report prints Portrait , but the Landscape report prints on Portrait. (Im missing the whole right hand side of the data)..
Any ideas?
Cheers
Stephen

Hi ,
Sorry , should have replied earlier...
I actually turned off the ps2pdf in the config files and the PDF printed direct perfectly both Landscape and Portrait.
I had followed the Past Config Guide to the tee which was the pain !!
Cheers

  • Print AP check (MICR) via XML Publisher

I will print AP check via XML Publisher 5.5. Our database is running on Linux.
I installed MICR FONT from Elfrin to my laptop so that I can create template on my laptop.
Should I install MICR font from the same company (Elfrin) onto database server? Or I can use the MICR font from any other company. What is the suggested MICR font (from which company) I should install on Linux?
Anyone has experience installing MICR on Linux? Any installation doc I can download?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I am using Elfring fonts with XMLP 5.6. Since this is a truetype font, you can use it on the server as well. Please refer to the XML Publisher manual for details on how to install a font using XML Publisher Administrator responsibility.

  • Printing in XML Publisher

I am curious as to why you can't direct print an XML Publisher Report just like any other Oracle report. If you can print Oracle reports in PDF straight to the printer, why do XML Publisher reports require ps2pdf (note:338990.1)? We are having many issues getting this installed on our server and functioning correctly (tar #5150293.992). Is this something that will be added/fixed in Oracle in the near future? It seems goofy to call a product XML Publisher if it can't publish.
    Thanks,
    Brett

I am a bit confused on this subject. We are developing reports using XML Publisher, but we have a requirement that the pdf output be sent directly to the printer (instead of viewing output, then printing). I have followed note #262657.1 on Metalink that walks you through setting up a new printer driver similar to this:
"cat <pdf doc name> | /usr/local/bin/acroread -toPostScript | lp -c -d <printer> -n1". This works from the command line, but I haven't been able to get it to work through the concurrent mgr in apps. The request completes successfully, and when you view the output it looks fine, but nothing makes it to the printer. The only message in the log file is "Rep-3000: Internal error starting oracle toolkit". I have had my DBA verify the DISPLAY settings on the servers and restart the reports server, but still no luck.
Do I also need to set up PASTA for this to work? And what is "IX" printing, and is it required also? My character set is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1, that seems to be important as well. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Purchase Order concurrent request printing with XML Publisher

Need to use the standard Print Purchase Orders Report (Portrait) to print batches of purchase orders using the seeded XSL template that generates a PDF document. Used the white paper 295409.1 as a guide to create Data Definition and Template using the short name POXPRPOP, with seeded XML schema and XSL template. Changed POXPRPOP report output from text to XML.
Report completes successfully but gives no data. The PDF is blank. Am I missing a step or is the seeded template not compatible with the POXPRPOP report?

Did you check whether your Pasta is Setup Correctly?? check the pasta configuration required for XML Publisher there are couple of utils/libraries that need to be setup on the Concurrent Manager Node

  • Error when trying to run an FSG Report via XML Publisher...

    hello.
    Hope someone can help.
This is our first look into the benefits of XML Publisher in order convince Manager to start using it. Thing is, we really need to get both FSG reports and Dunning Letters working.
We've currently got XML Publisher 5.0.0 and BI Publisher Template Builder for Word v10.1.3.2.0
First up, FSG reports. Having followed this link here:
    http://solutionbeacon.blogspot.com/2007/07/simple-tutorial-for-publishing-fsg.html
Ive managed to create a template based upon the basic FSG template supplied. I’ve follwed easy steps but on submitting the request against ANY [its what the notes said] FSG report the error messages from both the log and output files are given.. Those being..
Output file displayed the most productive error message:
    DECLARE
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06550: line 133, column 8:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SUBMIT_XML_REQUEST'
    ORA-06550: line 133, column 5:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
Can anyone help please? Or perhaps suggest an alternative to running FSG reports through XML Publisher.
Other thought was, do I need any different versions and/or Publisher Enterprise installing?
    Many thanks for reading this..

..having tried an alternative presentation I got a singular FSG report to generate in PDF via XML Publisher..

  • Printing of XML publisher report

    Hi All,
This is in regards to the printing of XML publisher report in Oracle E-Business Suite.
we have a XML Publisher report in Oracle EBS,which generates the output in PDF without any issues. But the same output is printed in XML Tags when it goes to the printer.
Can you please throw some light why this is happening only for this particaular report, other XML reports in the system does not have this problem.
Thanks in Advance for your help.

I do not think it is possible to send all the pages to one tray and send only the last page to a different tray. However, you may review the following notes:

  • Printing the XML Publisher report output  from different trays of printer.

I am generating the XML Publisher report and the output is in 5 pages and that is sent to the printer
In the printer there are two trays one tray(tray 1) consists of company watermarked papers and the other tray(tray 2) will be consisting of ordinary papers
I want to print the first two pages of the report on the papers of first tray and the remaining pages to be printed from another tray consisting of ordinary papers.
How can i do this in XML Publisher.
    Any response will be appreciated
    Thanks
    Saurav

Look at the links AJ gave.
Basically what you will do is create a Data Definition and assign a Data Template to it. Create a (document) Template and assign it to your data definition. You will use the XML Publisher Java API classes to pass parameters to your data template and extract the XML data. Then you will use this in conjunction with your document template and the OAF integration region to present the final output to the user.
All of these things are in the XML Publisher documentation and Javadocs.

  • Template is not attached to AP Check Printing report (XML Publisher)

    Hi Guru,
I have implemented XML publisher version of AP check Print report and did all the setups. When we make the payment in payables it automatically submits check print report. The report is completed successfully, but no output.
When I check View details button noticed that template layout is not attached to the report.
    Please do the needful.
    Thank in Advance,
    Venkat.

    Hi,
The following are the Instance details
    OS : OEL5
    Database: 11g
    EBS : 11.5.10.2
I have completed all the setups for the report and I am able to see the template attached to the request for other reports where we submit them in SRS window.
But "AP check Print report" submits automatically through the form while making the payment against supplier in AP.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Venkat.

  • Converting Oracle Reports to XML Publisher

    Hello,
I've been trying to convert my Oracle Reports to use XML Publisher templates and make the canned reports more visually appealing. I've been following the steps described in note 295409.1 on metalink to change OR output to XML and calling the XMLP Engine to apply the template.
However I'm encountering errors when XMLP is calling the template. In order to jump start my template development, I've used the utility in Release 12 to change the RDF file into the PL/SQL packages and RTF template. Then I am attempting to reengineer these templates back into 11.5.10 and uploading them via XML Publisher Administrator. I am experiencing the errors described in the following forum thread:
    XML Publisher error..urgent
I've located the problem within the template itself, but is this because of the conversion utility in release 12 (XML Version 5.6.3) is not compatible with our current XMLP version of 5.6.2 in 11i?
    Any assistance would be helpful.
    Thanks!
    Ellen

This could have something to do with the fact that your printer is not set up correctly. Can you run a plain text (OReports) file output to the same printer? If not, then the printer is not set up in FND correctly. If you can ...
Remeber that unless you have a more modern printer that can handle PDF documents natively then XMLPs PDF is going to need to be converted to PS or PCL. I would suggest you investigate the PASTA printer driver and get that set up. It provides the ability to call a program pdf2ps for instance, to convert the PDF to PS. There is a bunch of info on metalink

XML Input to Template: Report output (output format in XML)
Input parameters: Customer or Print date (i.e. all invoices of specified customer should populate)

    Hi All,
I am also facing new problem while i am going to register template in following environment:
    Oracle applications version: 11.5.10.2
    XML publisher Version: 5.0.0
My file size: 65 KB with out image
    363 KB with company logo
The RTF used English language characters and want to register for English – USA
My RTF template works fine in preview mode in Word. I go to upload it via XML Publisher Adminstator and I get a screen that just says "You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance."
What? The only option is Log out. Is there a way to validate my template to know what could possibly be wrong with it?
Please let me know if any other information require about RTF template.

  • Creating a template in Financials for using with XML Publisher..

    to whom..
I hope someone can help please. I'm trying this process for the first time so please bear with me..
Ive got everything in place for producing PDF reports via XML Publisher through ORACLE Financials but I'm stuck on the last
    part.
According to the notes (Publishing Concurrent Requests with XML Publisher - An Oracle White Paper Jan 2005) I've come
across, I need to update the concurrent program definition with a default template (when you submit a request, its in the
'upon completion' last section where theres an option to change or enter a template layout) yet this section is GREYED OUT.
Now according to my notes, to create a template you..
"Setting a Default Template....to select a default template in the Update Concurrent Program page available from the System Administration
responsibility (Note that this field is available only from System Administration. It is not available from the System
    Administrator Forms interface)......."
My query is, where is this 'Update Concurrent Program page'..?
    Thanks In Advance..

OK, so now I've found out how to 'default a template for EBS 11i' (System Administration > Concurrent > Programs - notice its Administration not Administrator)... but its unavailable.. in the the 'OnSite Setting' tab there was no box visible for me to enter a template filename. Does anybody know why this could be?
    thanks,

  • PCL Commands in XML Publisher

Is it at all possible to send PCL commands to the printer in XML Publisher like it is in Oracle Reports. We need to be able to change the print tray in the XML Publisher template. In Brazil there is a legal requirement to print the Nota Fiscal with 2 copies on one type of paper and 2 copies on another type of paper. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brett

    Hi Brett:
We would like to accomodate your requirement, but it might not be possible to embed PCL, since all our printed documents are converted to PDF first and PDF is printer independent.
However, it should be possible to provide a solution that prints the document 2 times on one printer and 2 times on another pritner. Do you require this for a single document, document batch or bursting scenario (same document to different output channels?)
Our 5.6.1 bursting support may be able to help with this requirement. Is that for e-Business Suite or Standalone XML Publisher?

  • XML publisher with jdeveloper

    Hi all,
I'm wondering if there is an API of XML Publisher for using with jdeveloper for development a reporting system. After I have run queries in database, I want to present tuples in a formatted fashion in PDF, RTF document etc. There are open source facilities like jasper reports etc, if XML publisher facilitates my reporting part of my system, I want to plan reporting development via XML Publisher!
So, How I can integrate XML Publisher with jdeveloper? Is there any API documentation?
    best regards...
    --barisk

XML Publisher ships with 2 XDK parsers a 9i version for backward compatibility and 10g version - you can switch at runtim using the properties. However, you have to make sure that the XML Publisher versions of the libraries are used and not the ones coming with i.e. jdeveloper version or oc4j version that you are using. You should use the version shipped with XML Publisher, because these versions are thoroughly tested with XML Publisher.
See the deployment notes in the install document:
    Oracle OC4J Deployment Notes
The version of the XML Parser shipped with Oracle OC4J is incompatible with XML Publisher. When you create an XML Publisher application for OC4J you need to configure the system to use the XML Publisher version of the XML Parser. This can be accomplished by setting an orion-web.xml configuration file with the following content:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <orion-web-app>
    <web-app-class-loader search-local-classes-first="true" />
    </orion-web-app>

  • Forum for XML Publisher

    Hi,
Is there a separate forum for XML publisher? :)
    I got this white paper:
Check Printing Using XML Publisher in Oracle Applications Release 12
    An Oracle White Paper
    January 2007
Oracle XML Publisher offers integrated functionality that allows customers to
design their own check format using familiar desktop tools that can then be
applied to a check print data source, whether that is the seeded Oracle Report
or a custom solution. This format is easily maintainable and can include all the
necessary components required in the final output to be printed onto blank check stock.
Taking this approach reduces the complexity of the systems surrounding the check
generation and thereby reducing the total cost of ownership of the E-Business Suite.
    Prerequisites
This solution will work with XML Publisher 4.5 and forward. This paper has been revised
for use with Oracle Applications Release 12. This white paper assumes the following:

    1. XML Publisher has been successfully set up with PDF printing enabled.Does the pre-requisite refers to the EBS R12 setup?
How do I know if my EBS R12 has been setup with XML publisher? I thought it is by default included?
