Patch level rise from 7.6.04.10 to 7.6.04 Build 16 with 2 maxdbs in group

Dear Gentlemans,
We plan a patch level rise from 7.6.04.10 to 7.6.04 Build 16
But on host 2 maxdbs running in same group (and 2 saps).
Do we need to stop both of them during the patch?

you need to stop both of them until the independend software is updated.
After that you may restart the other system.
Anyhow, you really shouldn't install 7.6.04 patches anymore - if you're not running livecache or OneDB, then always take the current patch. At the moment the current patch is MaxDB 7.6.05 Build 12.

Thanks for answering my queries.
Reason for going back to patch 5 is to maintain all client of production system at one level.
Certainly using higer patch level will also includes all functionalities of lower level.
But, did someone try to load patch 5 on patch 7, does it work?
Becoz, I am in production, so not in very good position to take this risk.
What you ppl say?
There should be some way to restore your GUI to back date, is it!, like one we do to restore our windows machine.

Version Numbers Vs. Patch Levels For Web Tools

I have noticed that version numbers for Web Tools such as 620, 621, 622, 624, 625, 627, and 628 correspond somehow to the patch level (6, 8, 10, etc.). What is the difference between the version numbers and patch levels, and which ones match up with which?

Prior to p10, the last digit of the version corresponds to the patch level.
From p10 going forward, the last set of digits represents the patch.
Patch 10 is 2007.0.630.10
Patch 11 will be 2007.0.631.11
The version will only change if there are upgrade scripts that need to run for the patch.

1. download PL36 from Channel Partner Portal ([service.sap.com/smb/sbo|http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo]), if you can't find it from the current patch list, go for the archived patches
2. contact your support center for the appropriate patch

I have installed the SAP Business One2005 B PL:01 including Server and the Client on one system no network or LAN is connnected it is stand alone system. Now I want to upgrade it to Patch level 34 how can I do that. Can any one guide me the steps or process of upgrading the patch levels.

Symptom
As of SAP Business One 2005 A SP01 Patch Level 10 the upgrade path from
the previous SAP Business One versions (6.5 SP1, 2004 A, 2005 A SPO) is
again provided.
For a limited time period in September, due to technical reasons,
upgrades from SAP Business One 6.5, 2004 A, and 2005 A SP00 to 2005 A
SP01 were not possible.
For customers running SAP Business One 2005 A SP01 with a patch level
lower than 08 the upgrade to the highest (latest) available patch level
is required.
Carefully read the Solution section of this note on how to proceed in

I am applying EP6SP2 CM&COLL patch 5 DBPATCH.
current portal version: version=6.0.2.29.0
current C&COLL version: CM_COLL version=60 SP2 Patch 5
Before applying this patch, i applied CM&COLL patch 4 hotfix 8 and the DBPATCH included in tht. Now, after applying CM&COLL patch 5, i tried to apply DBPATCH which comes with CMOLL patch5 SAR file. My database is oracle database. While applying this patch i encountred following error:

Playing overlaid sounds on set and patch levels

Can I setup MS so that the sound I use at set level can also be overlaid (played together with) the sound at patch level?
So far I've only succeeded to play the sounds with a split, and overlaying has only been possible within the same patch.
Example: set sound: piano. Patch 1: solo synth (split), Patch 2: strings (overlaid)

How to send patch level program changes from concert level instruments?

Here's the gist of my setup:
I have two concert level external instrument channel strips (Nord Electro 3 and Prophet 8 module). I am attempting to change the bank on the Electro 3 on a per patch basis. It seems as if the concert level nature of the channel strip is overriding my ability to change on a per patch basis. I am sending out a program change on a certain patch, and it is being reflected in all of the other patches across the concert (this is expected behaviour from reading the manual).
I've been looking for a way to manually send the program changes on a per patch basis (for these concert level strips), using some sort variation of the override parent setting, but I've been unsuccessful at finding a method for doing this. Is it even possible?
The behaviour I'm looking to replicate is easily accomplished by manually creating the external instrument channel strip in each of the patches, and then sending out the appropriate program change message. This isn't a problem to do. It is, however, a tad bit cumbersome and sort of defeates the purpose (in my opinion) of having concert level channel strips.
Any wisdom would be appreciated.

As far as I know the only way to send program changes is to create channel strips in every patch. I don't use concert level channel strips for that reason.
One of the advancements is that you can level your external instrument on patch level.
Tip: create one patch with the channel strips you need and duplicate that one (CMD-D) to create new patches. Works faster for me.

Problem after upgrade from patch level 36 to 43

Hi,
Recently our system is upgraded from 36 to 43 patch level. After this there are problem in doing hiring action, IT0000 is saving but the next infotype IT0001 does not gets saved and also no error message. So, really not able to figure out what could be the problem.
I was debugging the standard code i.e once the 'save' button is clicked in IT0001 in PA40, but in vain. I am not able to find out where or in which program/include the data gets saved in PA0001. If any one aware of this please let me know.
Since IT0001 is not getting saved, there are probs with IT0007 and IT0008.
Please let me know your views.

Thanks for the reply. Ya, the problem was not due to upgrade,but some other issue. Not able to find till now. I checked IGMOD features and it is in 'Active' mode only. No luck.

Currently we are in production at PATCH LEVEL 47.
Recently we applied patch 47 TO 56 in development system
Please suggest me in the below mentioned point of view.
1) What are the major changes we need to observe or what are scenerio we need to test.
2) what would be disprency while running payroll process, reports, or feature like 40ack, 40ecc,,if any and all.

Hi,
Check all the correction notes ( You can ask for a report from SAP)
Apply them and check fo the issues. Its a time consuming process and needs attention.
If there are any issues in notes raise a OSS immediately.
1. Check for primary requirements for which you need the change.
Be careful with Form16 - TAN Number based.
Check 80CCF, form 16 Services on portal, form 24.
2. Also test the existing functionalities.

Find SAPGui patch level from Appl Server

I have requirement to write a program to find what will be patch level applied in the each presentation server that login into server.
This will be my requirement. We have around 6000 terminals, some of terminals giving short dump in server due to non applying of latest GUI patch in the presentation server, requirement is to find what will be patch level of presentation server from application server.
I like to know whether it is possible to find what will be patch level applied in the
presentation server from Application server.

I followed following Steps:
1. Copied the patch into a temporary directory on system.
2. Unpacked the downloded SAPEXEDB_71-20000254.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620) 71 patch .
3. Stoped the SAP System using MMC.
4. Saved the kernel directory by backup or by copying into a separate backup directory. (\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe\run)
5. Re-started the server.
After logging again in SAP client 000 on checking found server patch level coming same as previous one .
Its not got updated and due to this in Tcode- SPAM I am getting error message :'The OCS package SAPKITL318 requires a kernel with Release 640 and patch number 71. The kernel you are currently using has a lower version.'.
