PayPal Button in Livescycle Fill-in form

I have created a form in Livecycle Designer that calculates the total amount due after you have made your selections. I need to have that total amount on a PayPal Button. PayPal has their "Buy it Now" button in HTML. Is it possible to do this? Is anyone willing to help me out on this?
I had no problem designing the form, but I am not good at XML and JavaScript.
Thanks

Hi Howard,
I'm trying to use the code you provide here but I'm stuck on this part:
// Append the item and amount parts of the url
url = url + "&item_name=" + name;
url = url + "&amount=" + cost;
Here's what I've come up with:
----- form1.#subform[0].Header.Button1::initialize: - (JavaScript, both) ---------------------------
// Get the item name and cost from a field on the page
var name = form1.page1.TextField1.rawValue;
var cost = form1.page1.numTotalMaterial.rawValue;
// Construct the paypal url. Change the email address and currency code as appropriate
var url = "https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=[email protected]&cur rency_co//www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=[email protected]&currency_co de=USD"
// Append the item and amount parts of the url
url = url + "&item_name=" + name;
url = url + "&amount=" + cost;
// Launch the web page. true means "open in a new browser window"
app.launchURL(url, true);
What do I have to change in the code lines?
Thanks for your help

  • Dynamic Paypal button for PDF fill-in form

    Hi there,
    I need help with adding a Paypal button to a PDF fill-in form. The Paypal button should feed through the Invoice Number field (a text field) and the invoice total amount (also a text field) to Paypal and add this to the Paypal cart (not ‘buy now’, but ‘add to cart’ so that more transactions can be added after that)
    I found this thread in the Adobe LiveCycle forum that does the same thing: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/339584;jsessionid=54D973B79E04C5B30F8B4BA56D95CE39.node0?ts tart=0
    I’ve tried to add this Javascript action to the button in Acrobat but it doesn’t work.
    Does anyone know what the correct Javascript should be to make this work in a PDF form?
    Help is very much appreciated

  • From Paypal Not Returning to Filled Out Form

    While testing my purchase form, everything seems to work with Paypal. However, when I select 'cancel and go back to filled out form' it goes back to a blank form. So, if customer wants to make a change, he must fill out the entire form again. Is there a known issue or am I doing something wrong? I don't know how to attach the form to this post, otherwise i would have

    Hi;
    Yes, it is a known issue and unfortunately the feature and it is not working.  It will change very soon but not for the better, for now the wording will simply say return to the form until we've fixed returning to the filled out form.

  • On button click to fill out form on same page as report

    Hi,
    I have a report that contains a name that I want to pass in to a field in a form on a different region on the same page.
    My button located on the report is has its own column called ADD_LINK. Here is the button. <button id="apexir_btn_ADD" class="apexir-button" type="button" value="Add" onclick=""><span>Add</span></button>
    Once that button is clicked, I have the form region fade in. The region is called Add Tag to Employee, which has P4_ROWID, P4_EMPLOYEE_ID, and P4_TAG_ID.
    Once the region is displayed, I want the #NAME# to show in the P4_EMPLOYEE_ID.
    I did copy this form from another page, where I had it working before. It made more sense to move it to this page for interface purposes, so maybe that tidbit will help as well.
    If anyone has an answer to that, awesome. I am new so thanks for the help.
    Thank you.
    Jeremy

    Similar to that, except I have a button on the right-most column that I want to use. There is a button for each row, and I want that to send the name on that row into the form, so it is very similar. Also the region I am sending it to is hidden until the button is clicked, which I created a dynamic action to show it on click.
    ID Name Skills Add_Link Delete_Link
    1 Jeremy Java [Add] [Del]
    That's what 1 row of data would look like..
    So when the [Add] button is clicked the Employee_Add form should update the P4_Employee_ID with the name corresponding with the button on that row.
    Edit: It turns out that since my form item P4_Employee_ID was a popup LOV so when I changed it to a Display Only, it seems to have worked.
    Now I am just having trouble getting this form on the same page to submit the data, by clicking Create on the form. The name is showing, but then I select a Skill and then Create, and it doesn't update my table.
    It is probably because I am not getting a rowID in my form, but I am not sure.
    Thanks
    Jeremy

  • Button to send filled out form as completed pdf form via email

    I have created a form that when filled out, should send the form by email to the recipient as a completed pdf form. It works with Adobe Acrobat but not Reader.
    Any Ideas?
    form can be found at:  http://www.lcyc.ca/images/stories/macman2012/macmanentry.pdf

    Check out:
    http://www.nk-inc.com/macmanentry.pdf
    Use your real name, and e-mail address in the PDF form fields, and recieve a customized email copy and response.
    The script will parse and merge the XDP submission, so there's no need to Reader Enable your forms.
    PDFEmail.net works in ASP.net web servers.
    Note: Do not submit sensitive information, this is just a demo. I may get a BCC of the form.

  • Submit form button on fill in form

    How do I change default message in email in the submit form button?   It says "form attached"' etc.
    I tried java script and it worked for most, but iPad users couldn't select the button

    thank you for your response.  I really don't want to customize the form, I just wanted to know if there is a way to modify the default language in the email message from the submit button.  The body says:
    Form Returned: Class-Reg-Test-09-04-12.pdf
    The attached file is the filled-out form. Please open it to review the data.
    Thanks - I am looking into an Acrobat class.

  • Cant fill a form (radio button)

    Hey.
    I frequently need to fill a form and I cant do so with my Ipad because at certain point I need to select an option with a radio button and the Ipad doesnt recognize it. The form also has square box and there I dont have a problem, I can check it. But when it comes to the radio (circular) button, I cant hit it and fill it.
    Why is this so?
    Thanks.
    (Sorry for my poor english)

    Radio button can be selected using the Safari App on the iPad, but the website has to be at least somewhat coded for mobile viewing.  See if you can zoom in on the screen before tapping the radio button, this sometimes help.  If in the end, you are still unable to complete it, try another browser like Chrome.  Some websites don't play nice with mobile devices and touch screens so you may get mixed results.  Apple uses Radio buttons in the forgot.apple.com website as well as many other I'm assuming and they all function fine from the iPad screen, so it is more than likely just the website you are utilizing.  Good Luck.

  • FF 29.0.1 bug - filled-out-forms

    Hi, ever since I started using Firefox, I'd often have tabs already-open with already-filled-out-forms that would, every single day without fail, have my data retained (I'd fill out the form, hit the Back button, and the data would still be seen in the form. Every morning, I'd open the same tabs with the same data and the tabs would have my data prepopulated in the forms as I left it the day before). This was very important because I do some activity every morning and don't want to have to fill out my forms on a daily basis.
    The 29.0.1 upgrade this weekend broke the preservation of this data. Now, I have to manually fill out the forms again. I do like the UI and UX upgrades, but why is it that this critical "feature" to me has been removed? The preservation of data was a paramount part of the Firefox experience for me.
    If this is intended behavior, I'd like to hear it. If this is not intended behavior, I look forward to 29.0.2 fixing the issue. It was never a problem in versions 15+ up until 29.0, but 29.0.1 is a game changer for me.
    (And by the way, I know there are ways around it, but having to manually click on autocomplete buttons or use form filler tools defeats the purpose of this already existing up until this version.)

    tamarsaw, <br />Yes. That or something similar is easy to do. I can understand you would rather just use Firefox than have to try troubleshooting it but the effort and results should pay off in the longer term.
    It is just a matter of transferring and overwriting files in the new profile. It is also possibly worth keeping backup copies maybe put a spare copy somewhere safe such as the Desktop or Documents.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox#Suggested_profile_contents_to_transfer
    Remember you could for instance have the current profile retained for historic reasons. A totally clean profle for testing purposes, and a clean profile but with current open tabs and history/bookmarks.
    The new sync is worth using that will keep backups on a server. However it has sometimes been unreliable and troublesome in the past it would be wise not to become over-reliant and rely on it totally for anything very important. When you start Firefox from the profile manager you choose the profile to use. Or you have icons/shortcuts that use specific profiles
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_multiple_profiles_-_Firefox
    <u>Open Tabs</u>
    The recently opened tabs can be kept. That is the file '''''sessionstore.js'''''
    * see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Sessionstore.js
    Firefox does itself try to keep a backup copy of those sometimes but the system may not always be 100% reliable.
    <u>History</u>
    This is kept in the same database as the Bookmarks. The file is '''''places'sqlite''''' The bookmarks do have separate backups even without you making manual bookmarks. The History does not have backups.
    * see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Places.sqlite
    <u>Sync & Firefox Accounts (FxA)</u>
    The new Firefox Accounts from Firefox29 will backup opentabs and History to the server, AND allow you to use those backups even if you only have a single machine or even stop using one machine and register another single machine. The old sync was not designed to be used as a backup or with single devices.

  • Actobat X Pro - Creating a fill-in form and i want it to email back to me

    I have created a fill-in form in Adobe X Pro (Trial version) and would like to set up a 'Submit' button that once all info is filled out, the customer can then press and this emails the PDF back to me.
    How do i do this? I am sure there are other threads already going about this but i cant understand a word in any of them. So please if you reply it needs to be as simple as possible.
    Please help
    - Alex

    Bill,
    Thank you for your help.
    The reason i have gone for the trial version is that I am part of a big company that would probably not authorise me to purchase the full product or even if they did, it would take months for it to get loaded onto my computer etc. This is why i have chosen to try this through the trial version.
    I will try again with what you've suggested below. I had a play around with it last night and the FDF file works, although i would rather the PDF. I will see what i come up with.
    Thanks.

  • Acrobat Pro 7, Adobe Reader 8, and Filled out forms

    My head is spinning with all the "Acrobat features" that seem to be in Acrobat, but actually aren't. At least not in the version I always seem to have. I wish Adobe would be more diligent in explaining what features are are in which version and what features are in the Windows version that aren't in the Mac version.
    I'll do a search for a particular question. Get an answer of Yes, Acrobat can do that. Only to find out (through trial and error and usually not the article I'm reading) that I can't do what I what I want in the version I have.
    To my question: We are using Acrobat 7 (CS2) to make forms for people to fill out and return to us. The people filling out the forms will mostly be in Adobe Reader 8.
    How can we get those folks to send us the filled out form? I have yet to get that to work. I have Reader 8 on my machine and when I use the Submit Button method, Reader tells me SendMail can't recognize my mail client, but then gives me no way of fixing that? Where are SendMail preferences? SendMail isn't even in the Help menu!
    Any insight would be appreciated...

    There is a New feature in Acrobat 8, that allows usage rights (you have to choose in tools menu, to allow it.
    For small companies and Non-Profits, Adobe threw us a Bone. As long as as you receive no more than 500 respondents you can do this without breaking the EULA. (License agreement).
    What you do is create your form make sure you have perfected and needs no changes. then turn on this item in Tools menu to allow Fill out and email. Then post to a website or send individually to no more than 500 people by email. They can fill out the form save the changes then send back.
    However when you do this any person using Acrobat Pro 7 or Acrobat 8, or Reader 7 or 8 can do this. doesn't work bellow version 7. But Acrobat 8 is the only one (so far Than can create these.
    If you make a mistake in the form and find it after turning usage rights on you have to save a copy with rights turn of and make your changes then go through procedure again.

  • Can fill-able forms created in Acrobat 9 work with SharePoint 2013 workflow?

    Okay so here's the deal.....
    I have a few HR forms that need to be searchable and created as workflows in SharePoint 2013. Creating a custom list will not work because it is not a built to create forms. Integrating InfoPath would be ideal, but it will not work either because the company
    will not pay for Enterprise licensing.
    So my question is....what if I created a fill-able form in Acrobat and uploaded to SharePoint. Can I create a workflow from the document. The only question is, when the user fill out the form, where it will go? There is no submit button.
    I guess the REAL question is, other than InfoPath, is there a work around to having forms on SharePoint that can be created as a workflow and made searchable. Did I mention that the forms must be fill-able.
    Hope I make sense.
    artisticweb

    No, you cannot submit form values of a acrobat to SharePoint. You can use list form for basic form, else try using jquery to build custom forms as an alternative for infopath. Refer to the following codeplex solution. You could use this or build one similar
    to that using the source code.

  • Having Reader be able to save a completed fill able form.

    Is there any way to allow someone with Reader to have the ability to save the information added in on a fill able PDF form? I have tried several different things and it always says it can only save a blank document.
    What about having the email submit button automatically email the person who is filling the information in? As in the email will vary based on which desktop it is being filled on.
    Or do they need standard or professional? If so, would standard do the job?

    Trust me, Acrobat Pro will allow you to both save the filled out PDF AND save the XML, separately. Reader WILL NOT allow you to do this, but if you have an email button. The point of reader extensions is to allow people without Acrobat to be able to save a filled out form, thus why reader is free. Reader extensions works on a form by form basis, so it can be portable. Acrobat Pro, which ISNT free, allows you to do all of this, which is why it isnt free. The point is that Adobe doesnt want anyone to have any save capability without having to pay for it first. If you have a form with an email submit button, you can open it in reader, click it, and email the xml with the values in it.

  • Exporting or saving the filled-out form to a specified location.

    Hi,
    I have created a pdf form using Acrobat X Standard. Currently, the way I have designed it is- the filled out form is attached to the email when the user clicks submit button. I am using some java code that I found through this forum. I do not know much about java.
    I want to change this. In addition to emailing the completed form, I would like the form to automatically get saved  to a pre-defined location when the user cliks submit button. Is there anyway I can do that. The problem I  see in this is the file name. How would that be handled?
    May be I am asking something impossible. But your thoughts would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    s.p

    The basic method you'd use is the doc.saveAs method: page: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.524.html
    Here is a good tutorial on how to use it: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript
    It doesn't mention though that it can be used in a certified document, in which case the trusted function stuff isn't necessary.

  • I have an InfoPath with submit button, publish the same to form library.

    Hi All,
    i have an InfoPath with submit button, publish the same to form library.
    Now, i open the form  fill it and attach some files, when i press submit button, that attachments will go to the particular document library.
    Can any one help me out.
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi Anil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the attachments attached to the form were submitted to an documents library.
    By default, the attachments should be attached with the InfoPath form and will not be submitted anywhere.
    There may be some customizations on the form that is to submit the attachments to the document library.
    Please check the links below if the customizations are made in the form.
