In a recent marketing email message, PayPal wrote:

But many credit cards offer promotional rebates on purchases like gas, groceries, restaurants, office supplies, hotels, etc. which are applied based on the specific merchant categories of the transaction payees. The question is, will a restaurant (for example) still look like a restaurant when the payment passes through PayPal to the credit card offering the rebate? Otherwise, we will not in fact keep our "cash back, points and rewards" when we pay with PayPal.
Funny how important details seem to get lost when copywriters are trying to sell something...

Payment gateway and credit card addon questions

I'm just getting in to understanding an eCommerce setup for WebTools and am hitting some mental blocks on how the payment gateway and credit card add-ons work together. I have looked through the material on the portal but haven't been able to nail the flow of control, so any help in understanding this would be much appreciated.
My understanding so far is that an end user of WebTools may have a collection of credit cards in his/her virtual wallet when placing an order. When the order is going through checkout, the payment gateway either authorises or denies the order and provides some kind of authorisation token on success.
Am I right in thinking that the order that goes through to B1 also carries the encrypted information of the credit card details and authorisation id from the gateway? If so, are these encrypted details stored against the sales order (in the ORDR table in B1?).
The sync manager config just says "Certified Add on" for the "B1 CreditCard Addon" . Does this mean that any certified credit card addon can decrypt these details? If not, is there a predefined list of addons that work?
I am looking at details of the CitiXSys credit card add-on to see if that can work, but their credit card setup is at a business partner level, not at a per-user level like WebTools, so I can't see how data can be synced. In fact, in addons that do work with WebTools, are credit card details (i.e. the list of credit cards in a users wallet) sync'd between the systems so that orders can be placed either directly in B1 OR through webtools?
Finally - we are looking at an eCommerce implementation in Australia. Has anyone completed an implementation here and can let us know a combination of payment gateway provider and credit card addon that works in Australia?

Check out Verisign/PayPal/Pay Flow Pro, I believe they have a Gateway available in AUS.
As far as the flow, the encrypted CC data is stored on the order, and right now there are a few Addons that can decrypt the data, the most popular being CitiXsys's solution(previously American Express)
In addition to the CC number and expiration date, the AuthCode granted by the CC Gateway is also stored.
Web tools does a minimal CC Number check before going to the CC Gateway as well, done on the Billing.aspx page, saving charges on the CC Gateway for card numbers that aren't even close to correct(such as 111 for a Visa card)
The verify.aspx page sends data to the CC Gateway provider setup in the Admin - Setup - Credit Card Gateway, then either is returned an error message or if successful then moves to the confirm.aspx page.
The data is then synched along with the order to B1, if so chosen in the synchmanager, in encypted format.
There is also the option of using the CC Gateway's website to do the capture as well. This means you manually generate a payment in B1 of couse.

I have been having this issue too since yesterday. I downloaded two songs fine (my itunes account was associated to paypal) then I went to download an album and it said paypal is not supported on this device. So, I went out onto itunes via my computer and put my credit card (it is valid in my country, it is a visa, it is not a debit card) and it still isn't working. It still says on my iphone that paypal cannot be used on this device. I don't understand this since I switched it online from paypal to a credit card. Please do not post the "accepted form of payment" link again, I see that (have seen it as a response to many requests like this actually which isn't helping.) I actually want to purchase some things...you would think Apple would do its best to help me to do that!

I am desperate right now. I'm not sure if I got myself into some real trouble since I got the in-app and it works fine, but the purchase did not show up. Making a Payment via Credit Card

So I don't use paypal a lot and I only had to recently when it came to purchasing certain things for my study abroad trip. So I need to make a payment to PayPal and tie off my credit balance. In the past I remember simply paying the amount with my attached credit card, but for some reason when I go to payment, it is not listed as a payment option. This is how PayPal uses ones funding sources, don't know if that's helps you figure things out or not: PayPal will first look at your PayPal Account balance, if you have insufficient funds, PayPal will then take the funds from your Bank Account. PayPal will do an instant transfer from your　bank account assuming you have a current linked and confirmed credit card.　 If the card is not current or no card, then the transfer from your bank account to pay for the purchase can take a few days, possibly up to 4.　If you have a credit card and no bank account, then the credit card will be used. This all happens assuming you don't elect to choose a funding source. Note, If you have both a bank account and credit card, you can choose to pay with your credit card on the PayPal Checkout screens by using the pay with another source option. There you can select your card from the dropdown.　It is possible to pay using the funds in your Account balance and the remainder with a credit card however, you must first elect to pay with your credit card. Your available balance will be used up and the remainder is charged to your card. As this now looks like you've sent a single payment, you remain eligible for Buyer Protection. You would not be eligible for Buyer Protection, if you paid for the item with two separate transactions.　What you cannot do is split a single payment between 2 bank accounts, 2 credit/debit card accounts or a bank account and a credit/debit card account. In addition, you cannot split a single payment between 2 PayPal accounts.

Vendor Payments using Credit Card

We are trying to use credit cards as a payment method in F110 for vendor payments. Does anyone have any documentation or please share your experiences on paying vendors using credit card?
Process would be : Pay vendors using Corporate credit card and then pay credit card company.

I would set up a GL account for the credit card company and use it like a bank account, assigning it to the payment method credit card in bank determination in FBZP. Then you can use F110 to clear the vendor items and credit the credit card account. You probably pay the credit card company by direct debit so this can be posted aginst the GL account directly from the bank statement.

FPY1 - Payment on Credit Card

FPY1 will be running on background for definitely (unless debug mode), is it correct ?
Now I am facing a problem. If I need to execute it in payment mode Credit Card, I need the "enter credit card data" interface to be prompt out. However, running FPY1 is background is impossible to trigger the call out screen on entering credit card data.
So, is it there is no possibility for me to get the credit card data from user input? is it any other user exit for me to modify the 'Payment Data' tab in order to get those credit card info ?

Installment is payment term and cheques and credit card collection is payment method.
Installment include several other normal payment terms. Installment is configured just like normal payment term except you need ticket "installment payment "
Take vendor for example. if you configure ZI03 installment for vendor which payable in 3 partial amounts(30days,60days,90days) by OBB9 where you can set payment percent and sub pamment terms. and then go to normal payment term to configure ZI30 for 30 days ,ZI60 for 60days and ZI90 for 90days.
Payment method need to be maintained in vendor master data and in automatic payment configuration if need.

It asked me that too.Don't worry and just put it in. Itunes doesn't charge unless your son buys something. The password happens to me all the time. Credit card was only once. Just make sure your son knows not to buy anything without permission so he doesn't accidently charge you something.
