Payroll Datasource with Generic .

Dear Experts,
Our Requirement is to Fetch the
Complete Payroll results from PCL2 Cluster, We identified initially 0HR_PY_1 ,
it is extracting the data from PCL2 cluster where in fields like
FPPER,INPER,FPBEG,FPEND,SRTZA,BONDT etc.., not available in this Standard Extractor.
We identified 0HR_PY_REC_51 is giving most of the fields which require to
complete our requirement, But the same is obsoleted.
We searching for an alternative
for the standard extractor which will give complete Results from PCL2 Cluster,
(like 0HR_PY_REC_51). help me seek expert
opinion on the best way to go about extracting PCL2 data.
IF we go for Function Module how to fetch the data from PCL2.

Maybe your numeric pointer is not valid...
How is this numeric pointer updated on the source system?
you can check the numeric pointer status on RSA7 on the source system (once the init has worked!).

I have to create a generic datasource with infoset. I linked the infoset with a test program below. In the program, I have one selection option, which is s_order. After creating an infoset and a datasource, this selection option 'SELECT_S_ORDER' is added to my extract structure. However, after try filtering with this SELECT_S_ORDER, it doesn't filter data at all. Why? I want to filter data with my s_order.

Do you get the field in your RSA3 Tcode?

Generic Datasource with Delta and functionmodule

Hi together,
who can help me ??
Ihave created a generic datasource with function module and
delta.
the extractor runs well while i use full update and also initialization.
If i start the delta extraction, the extractor crashed with short-dump.
the message is SAPSQL_INVALID_FIELDNAME
What can i do, and what is wrong.

Generic datasource with FM

All;
We need to do live cache extraction for APO data. How do we set up that in BW? Is this done using generic datasource with a Function module? Can anyone give me some ideas?

Hi,
In the Extractution structure you need to put the two dates and mark both like selection parameter.
This is the template for Generic FM Extractors "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE" to create the FM.
Follow the FM Code, in the part of the first execution you need to do two loops (one for every date).

Generic Datasource with Additive Delta

Hi all
I have a question.
In whic case can I use a generic datasource with additive delta?
Does this delta mode make sens only with function module extraction?
If I extract data directly from a table, can I use this delta mode only if a field represents changes?

    To my knowledge what you are thinking is wrong.
we have 2 Methods for Generic DS.
1. New status for changed Records.
2. Additive delta.
New status for changed records means
New Order
order no    quantity
1000          10
order changed to quntity 8. then 2 records will posted 2 BW in first case.
1000          -10
1000            8
if you come to Additve delta.
for the same case it will send the same record as
1000          10
changed records
1000          -2
this is the difference. New status with changed records should be used only in association with ODS not cube becoz we don't have overwrite option.
Additive delta we can use for ODS and Cubes with update mode Addition.

Error in Extraction with Generic Datasource via Function Module

Iam working for BI-HR module.We are extracting data with generic data source via function module. The client some more extra fields in already existing DS. So we made a copy of that Function module and tried to create new generic DS, we got error while extraction like "Error occured during the extraction process". Can you please help in resolving this issue, your valuable suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Which structure are you using??
Are you using the same old structure for this function module as well.
Have you enhanced the structure with new required fields.
New extrac fields needs to be added to existing structure if you are using the same or create a new one and make sure that you have all the fields in the structure which you are going to use in the data source.
You need to take care for the append as well and the issue could be in the code as well.
Make sure you have written the proper code and just for the new fields done an append

Issue with generic extraction using FM

Hi All,
I am trying to load from one DSO to other DSO, where i am trying to use generic extraction using FM, where i created strucutre of second DSO .
created Generic datasource with Function module.
when i am loading data using infopackage, its loading perfectly into PSA(with 100 records) and when i am loading thru DTP to Data target( second DSO), it is looping many records in each datapackage(like 8 million in each package) and updating into datatarget finally 100 records. but it is taking long time to finish the process.( i copied RSAX_GET_SIMPLE_DATA) and added transformation logic to it .
so i would like to know, if there is anything i have to change in the Function module code, to fix this.
i would also like to know, request is already in PSA, will it again extract from FM, when updating thru DTP.

I also had the same process. In the code of the function module. just check the Raise Exception code, probably ABAP guy can help. Also try to debug the code in RSA3 in debug mode. Actually it is going to a infinite loop, I guess.

Populating BW datasource with data using Webservice without PI (=XI)

Hi all,
I have got BW datasource and I want to be able to use external Webservice's method to populate my data source with data.
I have created client proxy in BW ( se80 --> Enterprise Services --> Client Proxy ) for my wsdl and logical port in SOAMANGER for my proxy.
I have also created datasource.
Now I need to use one of the methods of the Webservice (proxy ) to populate my datasource with data. This is the bit I am struggling with.
I had a look here on SND but I could not find anything useful. Can you please advice ? Any examples ?
Please let me know whatever you know and maybe helpful.
Feel free to ask questions if I am not detailed enough in my description of the problem.

Import from database an internal table with generic Type : Web Dynpro ABAP

i have a requirement in which i'm asked to transfer data flow between two frameworks, from WD Component to another. The problem is that i have to transfer internal tables with generic types. i used the import/ export from database approache but in that way i get an error message saying "Object references and data references not yet supported".
Here is my code to extract a generic internal table from memory.

Error 500 with generic Apache

Hi,
I am trying to user Apex Listener 1.0.2 on OC4J fronted with generic Apache 2.0. I configured mod_oc4j and the combination seems to work.
When i ran apex/listenerConfigure the configuration page shows up. But when I try to Apply changes I constantly get
500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
Any idea what would be the cause?

Creation of Remote Partition DB: datasource with ID does not exist in the collection

Hi,
I tried to create remote partitioned DB. Followed the below link to create it.

In 'partition Type selection' wizard, I selected the remote data source and landed in below error.
'datasource' with 'ID' = 'XXXX' doesn't exist in the collection
Can some one help me to resolve it?

Converting enumerations to lists with generics

hello...
i want to list off system properties and sort them.
how can you convert enumerations to lists with generics?
i tried the following in eclipse, but it fails...
     Properties properties = System.getProperties( ) ;
     Enumeration<?> enumeration = properties.propertyNames( ) ;
     ArrayList<String> arrayListEnum = Collections.list( enumeration ) ;
     Collections.sort( arrayListEnum ) ;

Because the type parameter of Enumeration (<?>) is not compatible with the type parameter of ArrayList (<String>).
You'll have to do some manual casting yourself.
Unfortunately, there's nothing to guarantee that system property keys or values are strings (hence why Enumeration<?> and no Enumeration<String>) so you'll need to cope if you find one that isn't.

The DataSource with the JNDI name: contentDataSource could not be located

We try to deploy our system/application to the servers that structed as
Machine one has:
1 administration domain
1 managed domain
Machine two has :
1 managed domain which is administrated by machine one.
I was trying to deploy the UI(portal application) to managed domain under Machine one. I got
error message as following:
Exception:weblogic.management.ApplicationException: activate failed for content.jar Module: content.jar Error: Exception activating module: EJBModule(content.jar,status=PREPARED) Unable to deploy EJB: ValueBean from content.jar: [EJB:011028]The DataSource with the JNDI name: contentDataSource could not be located. Please ensure that the DataSource has been deployed successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
I have portalFrameworkPool Data Sources deployed to both managed domains.
when I deploy the application to the server that has one one domain(both adminstrator domain and application domain are in one), it is fine.
Can some one with same experience, or BEA people provide some help on this? Very appreciate any help on this issue.

If you go to each Managed Server on the console, you can see the Service tab and then go to JDBC. Under JDBC you can see all the pool connections. Instead of localhost they should be pointing to the specific hostname or ip address of the adminserver and the pointbase port on that server (9093 by default) so the EAR files can be correctly deployed and then the JNDI Tree will look exactly the same on both servers. Change all the connection pools to use the specific hostname instead of localhost. Hope this works for you.

Program with generics compiles without -source 1.5 but doesn't run.

This could probably be considered a bug in J2SE1.5 beta 1.
A program with generics that is compiled with JDK 1.5 beta1 without the "-source 1.5" option behaves oddly: it compiles but sometimes fails to execute. It shouldn't behave like that. It should fail in the compilation, with a complaint about using the wrong version of the language.
This odd behaviour doesn't always occur! In the small program below, I get that behaviour when using the EnumSet.range method.
If I only use the basic EnumSet, it does executes.
