PB Keyboard sticks occasionally

Occasionally the 1st letter/number I type in a word or sentence doesn't register. i.e. "ello."
It isn't a specific key and occurs randomly--most of the time, I can input with my PB keyboard just fine. However, it's most frustrating when typing & causing errors while entering passwords.
This has been occuring for over a week and I haven't added any new apps/updates.
Any advice or pointers/docs referencing this issue would be awesome. Thanks!

  • Keyboard sticks/jumps

Recently I t realized that my keyboard has started to stick and jump around a page as I type. It will randomly jump up to a different section of the text and start writing there, or just highlight a portion of text, which then causes me to erase it as I continue to type. I have checked the trackpad, and is set to ignore accidental input. Besides, I have made sure to no be touching the trackpad, and it continues to do it. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it? I would REALLY appreciate it. It really makes it difficult to work on my cover letter and I need. THANK YOU!

    Try this:
Save your work, connect your MagSafe adapter & then remove your battery. Work with the battery removed and see if performance improves.
If so, this means your battery has swollen and needs to be replaced.

  • Anybody Have Problem with Keyboard Sticking

I have a new Iphone 5S.  It was great for 2 weeks.  Then the keyboatd began stick, sometimes.  What I mean I may touch the same letter 3-5 times before it enters, or I toouch a letter and it becomes huge, sticks there then suddenly lets go and types that letter and more I never touched.  The last thing it does is sometimes not space when I use the command, until I try 4-5 times.
Verizon has: Done a partial reset they promised wouldn't cause any problem for me but resetting wallpaper. The tech was soo wrong...Deleted ALL my settings and did not fix issue, Next they sent a refresh. Again no fix.  Rhird, we deleted the phone, on the phone, and restored from icloud, ny syncing.  Still has this intermittant problem
I loaded the Emjoi Keyboard when I traded from 4s to 5s.  For some reason, that was only thing that wasn't there when I setup new phone. That never caused a problem on 4s , so can't imagine thats it.
The operative word is Intermitant here.  I just don't get why it isn't doing the things I mentioned all of the time.
Welcome all ideas as Verizon will NOt give me a NEW phone, even tjough mine is not a month oold.  I'll have to accept a refurbished one. That really upsets me.
    ANY IDEAS?

    Hey,
No problems with my Droid 3 and the keyboard.  I have not seen any posts in our forums with anyone having that problem either.  Sometimes you might can take a Q-tip with a little rubbing alcohol on the tip and clean around the key in question and you might get lucky.  If you think it is some type of defect, you might want to contact customer support and they can assist you with your problem.  Good luck.

  • Keyboard sticks repeating last key press

Since I bought a new PC I have been having an issue with keyboard input.
Quite regularly the keyboard appears to crash continually repeating the last keyboard press. Removing the USB port and plugging it back in restores normal order.
This does not happen in windows on the same machine. It did not happen using ARCH on my old PC but with the same keyboard. So I suspect something software related to do with the motherboard.
For reference they keyboard is a Microsoft Natural Ergonmic 4000 keyboard.
    Motherboard/CPU is Intel Haswell based.
    Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87
    Intel Core i5-4670
I was suprised to find no one else with this issue which might mean something but I don't know.
Any help much appreciated. This makes Arch on my new PC basically unusable.

Is the keyboard directly connected to the machine or, e.g. through a usb hub? Did you try switching to another usb port?

  • Keyboard Stick

I bought a ThinkPad T530 on September 7, 2012 with the new chiclet-keyboard and my "Shift" and "Enter" keys gets stuck in the keyboard all the time. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this? I am also past the 21 days I have to return it and was wondering if Lenovo would still take it back. Thanks.

  • Why does Wireless Keyboard stick?

My wireless keyboard has started to behave erratically. More often than not, when I press the full stop key it spews out line after line of full stops and will not stop until I take out the batteries. I have checked in Universal access that Mouse Keys are off and the batteries are new. I have also tried to clean the keys with a compressed air kit. Can anyone help please?

Sounds like a bad keyboard, take it in or call your local Apple Service Center and make an appointment to have it checked out.

  • I phone 4s keyboard sticking

my iphone 4s keyboard has begun to type multiple letters, act like im holding the key to show the alt choices, space bar 2x to put in period when only asked for 1x, spell checking questionable and inconsistant, backspace at times will continue unasked ant

It would definitely be worth doing a reset to see if this clears the problem,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

  • IPad 2 keyboard fails occasionally

My iPad 2 disappears from time to time. By rebooting or turning it on and off it returns. Is there a more permanent fix for this problem?

    Vjangelo-
How did you reboot?  If you did not do this, try resetting (rebooting) this way:  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
If that did not help, it is possible there is a loose connection inside the iPad that causes this.  If you can take it to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new iPad on the spot.
If there is no Apple Store near you, search for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  In the US, <United States>.  Outside the US, <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434>.

  • Screen starting to go? & multiple keys on keyboard stick intermitantly

The botttom centre of my screen appears to be going, whenever i type either on a flat surface or on my lap it starts to shake as if i was touching it, and then it is a tad blurry for any objects moving in my finder, anyone kno what the deal is, and i am still under warranty so anyone know if mac will cover this?
As well my keys especially the arrow keys and my space bar aalways see to lock up on me, where i have to like force it out of whatever the deal is, and just afriad that if i do break a key from pulling it out with enough force that it wont be covered and marked as 'accidental' or 'tempering with product'
    Thanks

well, how old is it? the warranty that came with it from apple is 1 year, unless you bought AppleCare. If it is still in warranty, you should conact apple as soon as possible, if no, I don't know what to do other than pay for fixing it or live with it.

  • USB problem with K8N Platinum BIOS 1.C

I was running the beta BIOS 1.CA to fix a problem with one of my CPU cores not being detected on a warm boot and it worked great.
When I noticed the official release BIOS 1.C I upgraded but I noticed problems with my USB mouse and keyboard sticking occasionally, the keyboard sometimes needed two or three presses to type and I was losing mouse clicks, gone back to the beta 1.CA BIOS and everything is fine again.
Anyone else noticed this with 1.C BIOS?

Yes, I've gone back to the beta BIOS now and everything's fine
I only upgraded to the release version because usually releases are more stable than betas, obviously in this case the reverse is true

  • Keyboard issues after upgrading to Leopard

Seems there's been quite a bit of discussion about this topic already but it's been confined to laptops and I haven't seen a solution yet. I'm seeing the same problems on a desktop computer using either a wireless or USB keyboard.
After upgrading to Leopard, my keyboard would occasionally stop responding to keystrokes. I have seen this happen on both an Apple USB keyboard and my Logitech wireless keyboard. With either keyboard, the letter and number keys would stop responding but keys like the CapsLock and Delete keys would still work. I have seen this happen when using Mac Office 2004 (Excel and Word) and Safari. With Excel, when the keyboard stops responding, if I click on a different cell, the keyboard comes back. I did update to 10.5.2 and I do have the latest version of the Logitech software but the problems still persist.
Strangely, I have only seen this happen on my MacPro but NOT my MacBook. There is a difference on how each machine was upgraded to Leopard though. On my MacBook, I did a clean install of Leopard on a new hard drive and then migrated my docs and apps from the old drive. On my Mac Pro, I did an upgrade installation over Tiger. Fortunately, I cloned my hard drive prior to installing Leopard so going back is an option and so is doing a clean install followed by a migration which is what I did on my MacBook.
Is there a fix for the keyboard problems? Am I going to have to downgrade back to Tiger?

Thanks for posting this. I thought I was alone in the universe. I have the problem with my mini, which came with Leopard installed. The USB keyboard will stop working in Word or Entourage ('04) and I have to close and reopen the document to get the keyboard going again. Thankfully, my mouse still works when this happens, so I can use it to close and save.
It seems to sometimes be triggered when I switch between applications, but I haven't been able to replicate it consistently. It is particularly bad when using find in Word. The find window will go dead and I have to close it and reopen it to do another search. (Though interestingly, I don't have to close the Word doc.)
    It's irritating.

  • Aluminum Keyboard Sometimes Not Recognized By USB Port

I have an Aluminum wired keyboard that occasionally isn't detected by my Macbook in both Windows XP (Boot Camp) and Leopard. This is an exchanged one because the first one also behaved this way. I'm not using the extension cable. I have a USB wireless mouse plugged into one of the keyboard's USB ports and a flash drive. When the keyboard isn't detected, the mouse doesn't work (no lights on the receiver, can't connect), but the flash drive gets recognized. I've also had the keyboard not be detected without the flash drive so I know that it isn't the issue.
When it isn't detected I have to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard multiple times until it randomly starts working. Once it works, it doesn't stop working, though after going to sleep it occasionally disconnects itself on startup. All the function keys work properly and there's no updates available...is there anything I can do about this?

I've seen the very same problem. In my case I have a wired Mighty Mouse attached to one of the USB ports on the aluminum keyboard. Every time I plug it in -- not recognized first time. Second time -- success. Highly annoying.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution for the problem.

  • After update to iOS 8.3 I do not have emoji keyboard.

Prior to the update I had Emoji++ keyboard installed; which worked fine.  After the upgrade, the Emojii++ keyboard crashes occasionally (it never did before).
I was hoping I would get the new Apple emoji keyboard after the upgrade but it isn't there.  I uninstalled the Emoji++ keyboard then deleted it from my iPad Air, but the Apple Emoji keyboard is still not there, just the speaker button.
I backed up before upgrading, so I tried doing a restore with the thought of removing Emojii++ before the 8.3 upgrade. I've never restored before.
When it was finished restoring I was presented with a plain screen with the following text "swipe here to upgrade". I assumed that this was "upgrading" me to 8.2 because there didn't appear to be any other option. Unfortunately, this put me back to 8.3 and my current issue. What else could I have done besides "swipe here to upgrade"?
I Really want the Apple emoji keyboard, so any assistance would be appreciated.

    Berbyq wrote:
Unless I can't see the forest for the trees, other than downloading and installing a 3rd party keyboard, I don't have access to the default emoji.
When you do "add new keyboard", do you really not see one called Emoji anywhere on the list?
If not, try resetting your device

  • Keyboard behaviour

I play with an old game D2X.
This game need an american Keyboard. I am french so I have to switch from french to american, if not, the game does not recognise the keys 1->0 nor ",".
Until OSX 10.4 it works very fine.
But on OSX 10.5, if everything appears to look fine, there is a strange comportment of the keyboard: in the game the keyboard stick with a french keyboard!
Nothing to do, swapping keyboard physicaly or by preference, even swapping french and english in the list in international preferences.
So is any one who could help me ?
    Thanks

Sounds like the keyboard itself may be damaged. This can happen from dirt, though more commonly from a liquid spill (cats with an attitude can wreak havoc on keyboards).
Best way to test for that - disconnect that keyboard and connect one known to be good. If the problem disappears, the fault is almost certainly in the keyboard itself.
