PDA with Callmanager

How could I integrate the PDA with CallManager. The PDA I test is Intermec PDA, Windows mobile 5 with the messaging and security feature pack

currently no, you need a NOKIA E series with the ICC client then your phone will look like an 7970 to the UCM and irks great over WLAN and also over VPN
There are rumours about CUMA for windows mobile but that sitll wont give you a WLAN phone it just signals over 3G and calls using PSTN anyway.
I think we are all waiting on the day when CUMC becomes a WLAN phone as well

  • Griffin iMic fixed audio with callmanager 5.0

Has anyone had any luck getting the Griffin iMic USB fixed audio adapter working with CallManager 5.0 linux? Do I need to load any special drivers on the server?

I went through the Griffin iMic issue a month ago for an existing CCM 4.1 deployment.
After seeing on Griffin's website that their iMic is/was only certified for Windows XP and Mac OSX, I contacted their tech support. Below is their response to the Cisco MoH URL.
"That page is a Cisco document, not a Griffin document. We have never claimed compatibility with that system on our website or in any of our documentation. We have contacted Cisco a number of times asking them to remove the document because it has not been authorized by our company. If Cisco says they support it, then perhaps try contacting them, but we do not support the use of iMic in any other systems than Mac OSX and Windows XP SP 2."
I contacted the TAC and was given the same information that was found in the MoH documentation. No clarification.
I then contacted Cisco's PDI help desk and received the below responses.
Initial response: "The iMic cards that were supported are no longer in production. If you were able to get an older iMic card that supported Windows 2000, it will work with on the CallManager 3.3 servers, and will be supported by Cisco TAC. But the newer iMic2 cards are not supported."
Final response: "Since those cards are no longer available, we do not have a supported sound card for CallManager 4.x. I'm not sure if this is a valid option for you or not, but in a few weeks Cisco will have it's own sound card for CallManager 5.0, you could upgrade your CallManager."
    Hope this helps,

    Hello,
Before I can load some CRM applications on to my PDA, I am trying to synch my PDA with the server.
When I synchronized I got the device ID and also the message that synch has started successfully. But when I go in the NWA of the server ( on my laptop) and search this device ID it shows the following error
"Error while Smart Sync inbound processing. Reset Smart Sync data on device to ensure consitency with middleware. Contact SAP Support and provide following detalied information: Inbound Processing of container with index 45 failed: Can not find top row"
Does anyone know what could be wrong here?

  • Unity Connection 1.2(1) which has SCCP ports with CallManager 8.5(1)SU1.

For 24 hours I’d like to run Unity Connection 1.2(1) which has SCCP ports with CallManager 8.5(1).  Unity Connection 1.2 isn’t supported anymore, we are migrating to Unity Connection 8.5(1) but I wanted to do CallManager 4x to 8x upgrade the first night, and Unity Connection 1.2 to 8.5 upgrade the second night. All new hardware so using DMA and COBRAS.
I'm not looking for it to be "Supported" just want it to work 24 hours while migrating...
Unity Connection 1.x Compatability Matrix will likely never show CallManager 8.5 since UC 1.x is EoL

The primary factor in the integration here for SCCP is the TSP version.  You can verify the version of TSP running on Unity Connection with the procedure noted here:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/1x/release/notes/121sr2ucrn.html#wp37944
It's a Windows box so the procedure is the same as with standard Unity.  Check the properties of AvSkinny.tsp in the \Windows\System32\ folder path.
If you don't care about official support and it's only temporary then I'd say check to ensure that TSP is fairly recent and, if needed, upgrade to the latest release available for install on CUC 1.2(1).  Run a number and tests and make sure 1) things function as expected and 2) you don't get a load of TSP errors in the system/application logs.
Cisco notes that product support is based primarily on testing and since Unity Connection 1.2(1) is outdated and CUCM 8.5(1) is brand new, it's not likely that this combination will be tested anytime soon ... but the TSP compatibility between 8.0 and 8.5 is likely to be similar if not the same.

  • PDA with MAM freezing after synchronization

    Hi all,
We have installed MI 2.5 Client SP13 P03 (over CrEme 3.26) and MAM 2.5 SR2 in a PDA with 64MB RAM + 64MB ROM. After the initial synchronizations, when we start using MAM (entering notes, orders, etc) the PDA freezes and we have to make a cold boot, which erases all programs from the RAM, including MI.
By the PDA design, only data stored under /Applications folder will be kept after a cold boot. We are now trying, until now without success, to install CrEme and MI in other places (under /Applications or in a Flash Card) to overcome the problem of the data being lost after a cold boot.
Meanwhile, the original problem still persists: the PDA is freezing because the memory is exhausted after installing CrEme, MI, MAM and synchronizing. As we used SAP documentation to ask for a 64+64MB PDA, we thought it would be enough, but it seems it isn't.
Does anybody know a way to minimize the memory usage of MAM, either by using less storage space (where the programs are kept - we have approximately 14MB of programs + 10MB of synchronization data) or by using less program space (where the programs are executed - we have approximately 26MB of used memory BEFORE we start navigating through MAM, when the PDA freezes)?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
First we are using something called "Persistence Manager" I will try to get you more information when the Systems Engineers come in (they installed it). It backs up everything as its installed or anything changes in the environment. It does make you a little impatient when it kicks in automatically specially after every warm boot. However, we have yet to lose any data during cold boots. We are using Intermec CK30.
Secondly, If you look at the performance documents from SAP they use MAM 2.5SR2 as a benchmark to test how much data the MIClient can download at what rate ..etc They also use DB2E and include notes that using the DB you will increase the speed of retrieving and storing data. As of SP13 the data is actually "streamed" directly into the DB, which means instead of downloading the objects and then instantiating and running them (File Persistence) The data is actually stored directly into the DB ...
    Hope this helps,
    Wael

  • Door Bell feature with Callmanager and IP Phones

I know there is got to be some sort of Door Bell device out there on the market which will integrate with Callmanager or Unity.
Currently we have a Nortel PABX and have this door bell device feature called "design 2000" which is just an analog device extension which can either call a group of phones or single phone and from there onwards the phone would want to answer the Door phone then enter 5 * which will send a DTMF tone to this device, which should then open the door. Basically the Door Bell phone device just waits for DTMF tones.
Want to make sure if anyone has ever tried it or has any other ideas on how i can get this feature to work with our solution.
I have a VG248 and ATA188 which i think will do what we want it to do for the analog part of it. Plus the ip phone could dial either certain 2 digits to open the door or have a Softkey, which is labeled DOOR.
    Cheers,
    -Yavuz

    Hi,
    Thanks for your prompt answer.
Our problem is "simple" I can't find a video door that works with Cisco Call Manager 4.1 H323. There are lots of devices that works with SIP...
My question is which equipment you found to work with CallManager... I need in fact with something that works with ATA H323..
Thanks in advance for your cooperation

  • How do I syncronize a PDA with PC? (activesync/web service?)

    Hi!
    Short intro:
I&#8217;m currently working in a project with the goal to create a program where a user is collecting data in the field with a PDA. When the user has returned to his office, the stored data in the PDA is to be added to a central database when the PDA is docked.
    Longer explanation:
The PDA is going to be used for inputing field data into our program. When the user then returns to his office, he want&#8217;s to dock his PDA, and with minimal effort, add the collected data to a big central database. The database and pc client software is allready existing and has been used for a while. The user is expected to have none to very little previous experience with computers. The data collected is security critical and hence no Bluetooth, IR, WiFi can be used to transfer the data to the database. The users requires that we use docking
The PDA has to be developed with J2ME (that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m here =)). No platform for the program has been decided yet, but it would be preferred that the program could be run on both PalmOS and PocketPC. If both OSs is to be used, I guess the PDA program has to comply to CLDC/MIDP 2.0, since this is the best PalmOS can do. But, it is no problem to develop just for PocketPC if there is an easy way of syncing data using CDC + additional profiles.
My/our background: We have developed software in Java, but have no experience with J2ME and programming for PDAs.
    Question:
I need help with transfering the collected data from the PDA to our client software on the PC. As I understand it, the MIDP 2.0 profile (or CDC+profiles), does not implement any support for PalmOS&#8217;s/PocketPC&#8217;s hotsync/active sync. Is there a way to easily utilize these functions? Maybe with the help of additional Java APIs? I have done some research and as I understand it is complicated to transfer data this way.But more input on the subject is highly appreciated.
Another option I have just heard of is developing a secure web service and utilize the central network used for all the offices where the software is to be used. I have no experience with web services, anyone who can think of a flexible secure solution using web services?
I would like to thank you all in advance, especially you who provide me with some usable help :D.
    /Andreas

Maybe I should post this question in another section?

  • Mobile Time and Travel  on a PDA with MAM

    Hi Everyone,
Can I deploy Mobile Time & Travel to a PDA instead of a Laptop?  We will be using a PocketPC Device for the application but not so sure if you can run Mobile Time & Travel and Mobile Asset Management with the same device.  Please advice.  Thanks.

    Hello Dai,
Mobile Time and Travel is really designed for laptops.  The UI would not be user-friendly on a PDA (always scrolling).

  • I need to acquire 6 channels (voltages) on a PDA with DAQCard AI-16E-4

    Hello all,
This may be an elementary task, but I can't figure it out. I recently upgraded to a PDA collection system. My first task is to collect 6 voltages, at approx. 200 HZ per channel, for about 2-3 minutes. I have noticed that in DAQmx Base I can only set up three channels per task. Can I use two tasks at the same time? Will this cause a time delay between collecting each of the 2 channel groups? Maybe there is a way to collect all 6 with one task?
Also, I would like to either dump these voltages to a file (.txt, or something that can be read in Matlab or Excel). I have not seen an example that does this, is it because it's not possible? I could also send the info via bluetooth to a laptop during the tests, but that seem like it might be complicated. any suggestions?
Thanks, these forums have helped me a lot in setting up this system.

    Tom,
Thanks for the reply. Since this post I have figured a few things out. I am now collecting 6 channels and storing them in a txt file readable with Excel. So that is good.
The one thing I'm trying to confirm is that I am not losing any information due to overwriting memory. I need to acquire continuously until I hit the "stop" button, and once stop is hit I need to be sure that I have stored all acquisitions, i.e. the card buffer is empty and no data lost. I'll attach the VI that I am using. How should I set up my channels in the config utility?
As far as software, I'm using DAQmx Base 1.0 and the LabView PDA Module 7.1 to work on the VI and build it. If there is an easier way to do this task, i.e. another VI that is simpler, or a different program (you mentioned DAQ assistant) I am interested.
    Thanks much!!

  • Realize a J2ME reporting thin client (for PDA) with XML for Analysis

I'd create a reporting thin client (on PDA or smartphone) that uses the web service XMLA. How I can implement it? Can I use J2ME ?
Can i have more informations ??

I haven't tried generating stubs from WTK, but you could also try to access your WS by programming it. One of the solutions available for most of J2ME devices (MIDP/CLDC) is kSOAP (<a href="http://www.ksoap.org">www.ksoap.org</a>). I've tested it with Apache Axis and .NET-based WS servers - it works just fine, so I assume it should be working with SAP as well. This two articles might be valuable for you:

What type of GPRS link do you have? The usual speed is
14.4 kB unless you have some newer UMTS systems, so I would expect the
data transmission to be VERY slow in comparison to a normal network
    connection.

  • Using the BB 8300 as a PDA with Verizon

I have been considering the purchase of a BB 8330 for the express purpose of having the PDA capabilities.  I do not want to connect to email or use internet functions.  I do want to connect to my computer via USB and sync the calendar, phone book and contacts in my Outlook file and any notes I may add just as I do now with an older Palm Pilot PDA.  Verizon is telling me that I will need an additional data service plan in order to transfer the data between the computer and BB.  Is this correct?  Can I use the BB 8330 as a PDA independent of the Verizon service?
Also, my Palm has the capability to transfer a Wrod or Excell file from the computer and edit and view it on the PDA.  Will the 8330 do this?
Is software that is not packaged with teh Smartphone necessary and available to allow these functions?
Again, all I want from Verizon is the phone service.  All else I want to do through the USB and Computer.
Your answer will determine if I buy the BBs as Christmas gifts for my wife and myself or stick with my old phone and get a new stand alone PDA.  Thank you for your help in making this decision.
    Harold
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes you will need a data plan on your blackberry, your bb can use a program called documents to go and edit them on your blackberry, but it is buggy to say the least, but not a bad program. The blackberry is defiantly a better device then any PDA you will find though.
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!
