  • Conversion of Microsoft Word 2010 to PDF-Links not working in the PDF

I have a Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Operating System and Microsoft Word 2010. There is a particular word document(Word 2010) that I need to convert to PDF.I did a "save as" and stored it as a PDF. But the issue in the PDF is that the links in the "Table of Contents" do NOT work. I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.2.Please let me know how could I do the conversion and how can the links work correctly

Adobe Reader 10.1.2 cannot convert DOC files to PDFs. You will need Adobe Acrobat to do this.
Save As > Adobe PDF feature is using Microsoft's PDF converter. You may need to follow up with them regarding the same.

  • PDF Link Not Working - Can't Isolate the Issue

I have a unique issue I can't figure out. The trouble
shooting I have done so far is this: (1) I've recreated my Topic
several times using old topics that work, ones in version control,
ones not in version control, blank ones, and even from scratch as a
New Project. (2) I've recreated my Word Doc and PDF. (3) I've
uninstalled Robo Help 5 and reinstalled it. (4) I've uninstalled
then reinstalled Adobe. (5) I've uninstalled then reinstalled MS
Office. After reinstalling all of the above, I created the Topic
    yet another time.
I took an existing Project which was initially created in v4
with a PDF Link created in Word then converted to a PDF in Word.
This topic was not in version control and I copied it onto my Local
Drive. From my Local Drive, I modified the Topic to include all of
my new information. I left the original PDF Link, however, to test
    it. Here are the results:
    A) The original PDF Link still operates just fine. It
launches the PDF with no problem.
    B) The new PDF Links I am trying to create refuse to work no
matter what I do. WHY? When I click on the PDF Link in my compiled
CHM, I get an Internet Explorer Window with an error that the "Page
cannot be displayed". I have tried this on a network drive and on a
    local drive.
Are there any ideas or suggestions? Linking a PDF does not
require rocket science. I have done dozens of them over the past
couple years and never had this issue. All of my other hyperlinks
are working just fine (ie to external CHMs) - just not to PDF or
    DOC files.
1 thing I did notice which is why I uninstalled then
reinstalled everything: I found the new option inside Word of
ROBOPDF, and that is what I initially used. When I noticed a
coworker did things differently, I decided to delete that,
reinstall it all, then created the PDF the old way through the PDF
Maker toolbar in Word. I got the same results.
Please, please email me if possible:

  • Internal pdf links not working in chrome and firefox

I have some PDF files that I am adding links to additional PDF files that are located in the same folder on our webserver using Acrobat Pro XI. The links work fine in IE and the other PDF files open up and display well in the IE browser, but the links don't even show up in Chrome and will not open in Firefox. Further, the links in Safari, deliver an error message pop up saying the file could not be opened. If you click OK, the file does open. Also, in Acrobat > Tools > Add or Edit Link, I can change the properties to "Open File" and pick the "Open in New Window" option, but when I save the changes and come back, the option has automatically changed back to "Execute a Menu Item" and of course, the file I'm linking to does not open in a new Window.  These files were originally created in Word by another person and the person who converted them to PDF added fillable form fields throughout the document prior to converting to PDF. The links I am adding are being added using Acrobat Pro XI in the PDF file. Should we insert the above-mentioned links in the Word docs prior to converting to PDF to ensure the links work in all browsers, or are these browser issues common to all internal PDF links?
    Please help!
    Thanks,

  • Acrobat 9 pdf links not working from InDesign CS3. What is wrong?

My links are working in my 40 page Indesign CS3 file using Mac. After I convert to a .pdf, some of the links are no longer going to the right location. They have either duplicated other links, or trying to take me incorrectly to my desktop or network. Can't figure out what is wrong.

Links meant to  go to an outside website are supposed to be filled out in the following format : http://www.phillipmjones.net
in Acrobat should look something like :  This is my personal website
In Acrobat go go create you link then click on action:
(I'm using my own personal website as an example)
If you choose something else such as open a file then that is what it does.

  • PDF links not working in Safari?

I'm noticing that links in PDFs (made with Acrobat 9) are not accessible when viewing the PDF in Safari (although they do work in iBooks). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't beleive Safari for iOS opens PDF documents natively. You may need a reader, such as Goodreader to open them.
Correction - it does open the PDFs in the browser (but gives a choice of otherapps). My mistake

  • Draft PDF link not working?

OK, this is happening now for someone using both Contribute CS4 and Contribute CS3 (we're also using the Contribute Publishing Server, if that matters).
We've tried sending a PDF as a draft to someone else by using the "Send File from My Computer" option.  The PDF is listed in the Draft Console, however, nothing happens when one clicks the link (it's like the Draft Console just reloads) and there doesn't appear to be any way to approve, delete, etc. the draft PDF that we were sent.
If I right click on the link, and do copy, I get a link like http://www.example.com/MMWIP/f42d9d462bb09f15/6620e8ceca42d429.pdf (which I guess isn't surprising since it's a draft).  If I copy it into a regular browser, I get the PDF that we uploaded for review so I know it's there, but if I paste it into contribute, I just return to the Draft Console.
Any ideas about what might be going on here?  Apparently it was working on Contribute 3.11, which is the version that the person using CS4 had been using.  Most sites are administered by me, who is using CS3.  I don't know if that might cause any problems or not.

The workflow of the drafts have been changed in the newer version (from  CS4) of Contribute. To know more about the new workflow process, please refer to Assigning workflow & drafts review process.
Since the draft workflow had been enhanced,
    a)      The draft created and send for review/edit/publish from CS5 (/CS4) to the user using CS3, will not receive the draft.
    b)      The draft created and send for review from CS3 to the user using CS5 (/CS4), the user will receive the draft, but will follow the CS3 draft review process, not the new review process.
If this is not the case, please check by sending the PDF to the same user.

  • Internal PDF links not working in AIR

I have an AIR application that accesses and opens PDFs of lesson plans.  Works great.  However, when opened in AIR the internal links between PDF files no longer work, it just generates an error.  Is there an easy solution to this?
    Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the quick reply.  AIR 1.5, Reader 9.  I have attached a file that
has this issue.  If you select the first link in the menu "Lesson 1.1", then
scroll down to the bottom of page 4 of the resulting PDF, there will be a
link to "Lesson 1.1 Teacher Notes".  The error happens there.  It should
open the file that is the second link in the menu.  The error returned is
"Could not open file "Lesson1_1_TeachersNotes.pdf""  This works fine when
previewing the original html setup (built in Dreamweaver) in Internet
Explorer, so the links worked before.  They just no longer work when opened
    in AIR.
    Thanks,
    Wes

  • PDF hyperlinks not working on app

I have pasted a PDF (with working links) on a folio page (folios done in PDF format). The page is uploaded but all links on the original PDF are not working once I view it on the app.
So I'm guessing folios with pasted PDFs on them don't transfer hyperlink properties to the final app? Even thought I've made the folio in PDF format? Does this mean I have to use boxes to create hotspots over the pasted PDF? Is there a way to transfer these properties from the original PDF and skip the hotspot step?
    Thanks.

You're right -- the placed PDF loses all its interactivity even when it becomes part of a PDF article. You'll need to add buttons over the PDF as you describe. Also, keep in mind that the Show/Hide Buttons action isn't supported in DPS, so you'll need to use a combination of buttons and MSOs to create hotspots, as described in this article:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/indesigndocs/2010/12/hot-spot-button-workaround-for-indesign-dig-pu bs.html

  • External links not work

    Hello,
I have a word document that has external links. Text that
links to other page or other url.
When I convert my doc (word document) into a swf using flash
paper 2 the links not work. There are still highlighted but no
    linking is taking place.
    please help me.
    Thanks
    Alejandro

I am having the same problem. At first I thought it was
because I had converted an excel file but I tried the same
information from a word document and the links do not work in the
browser or if I view the SWF file separately. Additionally, when I
convert the word file to a pdf none of the hyperlinks to pages or
documents work but the links to email addresses do.

  • Adobe Edge links not working

Yeah I have also experienced links not working when I import my .oam file from Adobe Edge Animate also. Is there anything the Muse team is doing to fix this issue? I need a response from you guys by the end of the week. my company website is malfunctioning due to issues with your software. If there is some sort of hotfix please let us know.

When you install the software illegally, using a volume license, there is a script you can run that will enter all of the adobe servers into your local DNS hosts file so the software can be activated. This makes accessing those domains impossible. This scenario fits the description of your issue, not suggesting anything beyond that.
The hosts file is in /private/etc/hosts and can be accessed through the terminal:
    sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
If you see a bunch of adobe servers in there, that is your problem.

  • Add new document link not working in upgraded sharepoint 2013?

    Hello there,
Upgraded SharePoint team sites from 2010 to 2013. add new document link not working for shared document in upgraded sharepoint 2013?. it is specially not working on machine where Office web apps set up with this sharePoint server and it
is working fine with environment  Office web apps not configured with Sharepoint.
Looking resoluion /suggestion, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sushil

    Hi  Sushil,
According to your description, my understanding is that the add new document link was not working on machine where Office web apps set up with this SharePoint server after you upgraded SharePoint team sites
    from 2010 to 2013.
For your issue, it can be caused by integrating Office Web Apps with upgraded SharePoint Site.
Firstly please make sure claims-based authentication is used by the SharePoint web application that is used to create the new document. Only web applications that use claims-based authentication can open
files in Office Web Apps. To determine the authentication provider for a web application, follow these steps:
1.In SharePoint 2013 Central Administration, click Manage web applications.
2.Select the web application that you want to check, and click Authentication Providers on the ribbon.
The authentication provider must be displayed as Claims Based Authentication for Office Web Apps to work correctly with the web application. To resolve this issue, you can delete the web application and recreate
it using claims-based authentication, or you can change the authentication method of the web application.
Secondly, make sure the WOPI zones match on the SharePoint 2013 and the Office Web Apps Server farm.
To do this, run the following command on the SharePoint Server:
    Get-SPWopiZone
The result will be one of the following:.
    internal-https
    internal-http
    external-https
    external-http
Next, run the following command on the SharePoint Server.
    Get-SPWOPIBinding
In the output, look for WopiZone: zone. If the results from Get-SPWopiZone don’t match the zone that is returned by Get-SPWOPIBinding, run the Set-SPWOPIZone -Zone cmdlet on the SharePoint Server to change
the WOPI zone to match the result from Get-SPWOPIBinding.
If not work, you can try to disconnect SharePoint 2013 from Office Web Apps Server and re-configure Office Web Apps for SharePoint 2013.
For more information, please refer to the article:

  • Fresh Install HCM 9.1 but Links not working. Help please

    Dear All,
I'm trying to make a switch from SAP to PeopleSoft. I tought it easier to install PSFT since the number of source to install is much less than SAP. However, I kept getting same error where the links not working no matter which environment I tried to install.
I downloaded all software from eDelivery.
    HCM 9.1, PTOOLS 8.52, Oracle 11g 64 bit, Oracle Client 32 bit.
    First Try:
Install on windows 7 64bit. Everything works fine until first login to the PSFT and all links not working.
Suggestion from Hakan is to apply the patch and gave me a link to the old FTP site. I downloaded the 85209 patch but got password.
Finally I managed to get a customer ID from a friend and downloaded Patch 85211 and applied. But got java error so I scrapped it.
Anyway, Gasparotto said the environment is not certified and will not fix my problem with the patch.
    Second Try:
    Installed Virtual Box.
Installed Windows 2008 R2 and applied the SP1.
    Installed everything all over again.
Ensured the PTWEBSERVER password similar the username.
Everything works fine but when login to PSFT, again..... links not working and see on the bottom left corner there are some javascript error where they cannot find certain peoplesoft objects..
Just upgraded to IE 9 because I read somewhere IE 8 is not certified.
Tried to login again, no error message and everything looks fine but... links not working.
Logs also looks normal to me.
Does anyone ever encountered similar issues before?
Does this is a normal behaviour before tools patch 85211 being applied ?
    Thanks,

Does this is a normal behaviour before tools patch 85211 being applied ?Without patch, you have the error you mentioned. How many time I told that 8.52.03 min. is required, I did not go further, but there was some bugs before which make it not working.
I understand that's rather frustrating for people who wants to jump to Peoplesoft. I don't know SAP, but here you go, Peoplesoft is not a simple toy.
Unfortunately, if you have no access to My Oracle Support to get the Peoplesoft patches, you have no way but work on Peoplesoft OVM (free of use), and to use them on VirtualBox, the Jim's articles are worth to follow.
    Nicolas.
PS: @Jim, thanks for the kind words.
My last install guide is quite old now (PT8.50/Linux), even though it did not change very much within the last tools 8.52. But seeing the number of time such questions have asked over here (PT8.52 on Windows), I'm thinking to write one more, that time on Windows.

  • Links not working correctly in PCUI for CRM

    Hi All,
We are implementing mySAP CRM 4.0 through PCUI on Portal
    EP6 SP14.
I have integrated the CRM Business Package 60.2 in Portal.
Proper User has been created in the backend and assigned Sales Manager Role both in the portal and in the CRM backend.
We are facing problem of links not working in the CRM Contents. When we click on the links in the CRM Portal Contents ( BSPs) we don’t get the desired application opening.
When we click any links in the BSP's ( Activity Links in Opportunity Management BSP ) we get a blank page popped up.
I have the screen shots with me. Any one responding can get the screen shots from me.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rohit

    Rohit,
Have you maintained configuration in (transaction CRMC_BLUEPRINT_C --> Navigation (URL Generation) --> Assign Object Method to Role)? Be sure that the role that you are using is present and ID Page/Service field correctly points to the pcd url for your portal.
When testing, it may be helpful to set parameter CRM_URL_BUFFER_OFF = X on the user profile (SU01) to turn off the url buffer. That way changes made above are immediate.
    Best Regards,
    Bernard
