Peer to peer speeds
I am using a gmae online called IRacing, when i use this site my connection speed drops. Can anyone tell me if BT are thinking this is a peer to peer connection so are supressing my speed. If this is the case BT needs to update their system to stop the restriction. Any help would be appriciated
It is a P2P online racing sim, that is why your speed is being throttled.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

891W to 5505 EZVPN issue...No peer struct to get peer description
Hey everyone,
I've been on the forums looking for a solution to my issue in my lab....
I'm getting the No peer struct to get peer description error in my debug. I've done a search on these forums but the changes that I made did not work for me
It has to be something simple.....
I am able to ping out to my ASA
891Demo#ping 38.98.226.100
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 38.98.226.100, timeout is 2 seconds:
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 100/106/116 ms
I did a few show commands listed below if anyone wants to take a look...
891Demo#sho run

Any insight to this would be appreciated, i'm still going to try and figure it out as wellIt is the host site not transmitting. The ACL that i see thats blocking is for a client based VPN.

How to handle DLSw for SDLC and token-ring to same remote peer
We have the need to have SDLC and token-ring connections from one local router to a the same remote site. Currently we have a remote peer for token-ring:
dlsw port-list 10 TokenRing0/0
dlsw remote-peer 10 tcp a.b.c.d lf 1500
We have an SDLC link on a serial port. I understand that SDLC is part of group 0. How do I also get the SDLC traffic to the same remote peer? Is it as simple as adding another remote peer statement to the same IP?
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp a.b.c.d lf 1500Do you have your token ring configuration complete to bridge to DLSW ?
for example;
source-bridge ring-group 2000
dlsw local-peer peer-id 150.150.10.1
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp 150.150.10.2
interface loopback 0
ip address 150.150.10.1 255.255.255.0
interface serial 0
ip address 150.150.11.1 255.255.255.192
interface serial 1

sdlc dlsw 1
interface serial 2
description Node Type 2.1 with SDLC station role set to negotiable or primary

interface tokenring 0

source-bridge 100 1 2000
source-bridge spanning
If your SDLC link is working through DLSW (it is in DLSW ring group 10 according to your first configuration statement and port list statement and must match at both ends), it should be an easy modification to add the token ring configuration to join the bridge to the remote DLSW router.

Connection reset by peer issue
Hello,
Our application is occasionally getting messages like :
weblogic java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: JVM_recv
in socket input stream read
although it eventually recovers (we have the jdbc refreshTestMinutes
set to 5). We are using Weblogic 5.1 Service Pack 12 and Jdk1.3.1_04
connecting to SQL Server 2000 on another machine.
After scratching our heads with what might be wrong with our
application, we think it might be a network issue. Theres nothing in
the SQL Server logs to indicate that there has been a problem on that
side.
Has anyone had this problem and resolved it, and if so how? Are we on
the right track?
Thanks,
Caroline SturtridgeThanks for those suggestions, we'll try them and see if they work.
Strangely, I wrote a small program to keep a socket open between the
two machines (completely separate from the main application) and we've
not had a problem since...

o You need to use test connections on reserve to true.
o You need to talk to your network admin and find out
if there are any firewalls/proxies between the app server
and the database. They can be dropping connections
after a period of incativity.
o Ask the network admin to check error counters on the switch
ports. Sometimes when the switch port is set to 100Mbit/Firm
and other side use 100MBit/Auto, the parites can't negotiate
speed and fall down to speed of 10th of kilobytes, having
multiple errors etc. Cisco switches like doing this.
Hope this helps.

Is there a way to connect 2 spa3102 together via a sip trunk in peer-to-peer mode without a proxy?

Yes, you use direct ip addressing. You need to Enable IP Dialing, set Make and ans call without Reg to yes. If the two spa's are on different networks you will need to forward the sip port to the adapter on the router.
You can use speed dialing, or you can setup a special dial plan.
For speed dialing you would have
[email protected]:5060
where userid is any userid you have on the distant spa, 192.168.1.100 is the ip address, and 5060 is the sip port number. Actually 5060 is the default sip port number so if that is what you are using you don't need to include it. If it is something other than 5060 you need to include it.
For a dial plan there probably are different ways to do it. The following would dial the distant spa by dialing 123:

Peer to Peer help..
So i called verizon tech support and all i got was a speed up on my internet, did it help? nope. So now the only Option i have left is DMZ. How do i enable DMZ onto my router so i can get a good Peer to Peer connection? Help please...
My router is A Actiontec MI424-WR Rev. EDMZ should be a LAST Resort as it leaves your PC unprotected.
What port(s) is your P2P utilizing ?
Keep in mind that the Verizon FIOS Router has a small NAT Table which could effect your ability to maintain a P2P Connection. There are options and configurations that can help with this, which can be found here:

Nexus 3548 : vlan is not allowed on peer-link
Hi, I had posted earlier but I think I have almost figured out the issue.. just not how to resolve it.
I have two nexus switches connected together with PO5.
Each nexus has a PO6 to connect to a single Cat3750
VLAN 46 on one of the switches is showing
%ETHPORT-3-IF_ERROR_VLANS_SUSPENDED: VLANs 46 on Interface port-channel6 are being suspended. (Reason: Vlan is not allowed on Peer-link)
Oddly the other switch seems to ok with VLAN 46.
I also see this
show vpc consistency-parameters vpc 6
... Local Remote.
Allowed VLANs - 1,31,34,46,200,600-605 1,31,34,46,200,600-605
Local suspended VLANs - 46 -
I just dont get it. Both switches are almost identical in their running configs.
Any thoughts?well the funny thing about the nexus configs is that I compared them in notepad ++ and they are the same.

Hey all,
Is there a way that the BGP VPNv4 peer table can be monitored like the global BGP table (1.3.6.1.2.1.15)

Notice that the 10.98.128.222 peering is not in the global BGP table that SNMP reads?
The closest that I can get is to put a threshold on the amount of prefix recieved via a peering:
CISCO-BGP4-MIB::cbgpPeerAcceptedPrefixes.10.98.128.222.ipv4.vpn = Counter32: 1
CISCO-BGP4-MIB has no table contructs that resemble the ones in BGP4-MIB

Dial-Peer matches but fails to call out
Hello,
Am trying to get my CME configured for Callcentric. I have both an inbound and an outbound plan.
With my dial-peers configured for standard 11-digit and 10-digit dialing, calls go to fast busy after all digits except the last two are dialed. Debug shows a dial-peer match initially, then states no match and the call fails. If I change the destination pattern to match my cell phone number exactly, I can dial all the digits but the call still fails. Anyone have a suggestion?
Here are my dial peers:

SAP PI 7.3 Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier
Hi
We upgraded the PI systems(Dev and Quality) from 7.0 to v7.3 Before the upgrade https scenario was working fine. Important thing is we were not using any certificates to transfer files to our vendor. All the SOAP receiver adapter with HTTPS url is working fine in production. The production is still with PI 7.0
After basis upgrade the PI system to v7.3 when I send a messaage to the below url with SOAP receiver adapter i see the below error. This is not a webservice interface.
https://staging.napa-ibiz.com/..........
The error is:
SOAP: error occured: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: iaik.security.ssl.SSLCertificateException: Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier
Adapter Framework caught exception: iaik.security.ssl.SSLCertificateException: Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier
Delivering the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: iaik.security.ssl.SSLCertificateException: Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.
The strange part is, after the upgrade it is working fine with one vendor. The SOAP receiver adapter configuration is no different from other scenerios.
We even restarted the JAVA engine still no luck.
I didn't get answer for my below questions:
1. When I'm not using any certificates to send files to my vendor, why/how I see the above certificates related error.
2. If it is really a certificate related error, how i'm able to successfully send to one vendor with the similar SOAP receivier configuration.
3. Why only after the upgrade i see this error?
Can you please throw some lights on this?
Thanks,>When I'm not using any certificates to send files to my vendor, why/how I see the above certificates related error.
The URL shows that you are using https transport communication. So you might be sharing the certificate or anonymous ssl with different vendors. PLease go to STRUST and see whether you have certificates in the keystore for the different vendors. As you production environment behaves different from pre production in terms of security.
>If it is really a certificate related error, how i'm able to successfully send to one vendor with the similar SOAP receivier configuration
You might share certificate correctly for one vendor and keystore might not have for the other vendors. This is nothing related to soap receiver channel configuration. Certificates can be maintained either java stack level or abap stack.
>Why only after the upgrade i see this error?
PI 7.1 and above are 64 bit OS products. There are plenty of changes in the installation and security standards. Talk to BASIS, -
Cisco 5505 VPN assistance - Resending P1 and Peer to Peer List No match
Hello and thanks in advance to anyone that can help me with the IPSec connection. the VPN were working when i first created them but now they wont connect. Here is the error on the primary (local) firewall: (yes i know the time isnt set yet on the firewall)
4|May 17 2007|13:51:55|713903|||||IP = X.X.X.X, Error: Unable to remove PeerTblEntry

6|May 17 2007|13:51:55|713905|||||IP = X.X.X.X, P1 Retransmit msg dispatched to MM FSM
5|May 17 2007|13:51:55|713201|||||IP = X.X.X.X, Duplicate Phase 1 packet detected. Retransmitting last packet.
6|May 17 2007|13:51:47|713905|||||IP = X.X.X.X, P1 Retransmit msg dispatched to MM FSM
5|May 17 2007|13:51:47|713201|||||IP = X.X.X.X, Duplicate Phase 1 packet detected. Retransmitting last packet.
The local firewall has one VPN configured and the remote has 2 (1 working and the other not): Local Firewall is Base licensing with 3DES. As far as I can tell they have the same VPN parameters but maybe the remote has pfs1 turned on? Ive played with various settings and cant seem to get it to work. The cryptomap has the same firewall rules in it (obviously reversed on remote). Any help much appreciated! I Have a third site doing exactly the same thing (once again also works on another site to site but not this one). It's weird because I used the IPSec wizard and got it to work and rebooted the ASA and tunnel came up yet again but now my debug log is just full of this info and tunnels never come up.....the only time it was up was for a few hours then wont come up anymore...odd..

I just PAID for Black eyed peas Time of my life and now iTunes says I can't put it on my iPod 5th gen ? What? Why? And how can I get it on my ipod? And if I can't put it on my ipod how do I get my money back? I registered my ipod on iTunes, why was a song I can't put on my ipod even offered to me? What a rip?
Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.
To move mdia to the new computer see:

SAP Business One 8.8 running on a server with Peer to Peer
Can SAP Business One 8.8 be install and run in a server with a Peer to Peer Operative system?
You have more than one Oracle Release on the Server. hence more than one ORACLE_HOME.
Check which is your default ORACLE_HOME on the server and check which of the homes PERL5LIB environment variable is pointing from both command prompt and in Windows.
That could explain the funny bahaviour. If you change ORACLE_HOME, that could help. -
Socket read error: connection reset by peer
Hi.
Has anybody experienced the error message Socket read error: connection reset by peer
Please see below for detailed information.
Appreciate your help
Regards
RT
Enviroment specification
Server: HP/UX 11.00 64-bit, Oracle RDBMS 8.1.6.0.0 64-bit
2 firewalls between client and db.
Client:
Win 2000,
SP3,
Oracle Client 8.1.7.0.0 ,JDBC OCI (thin JDBC driver,class12.zip)
JDK 1.3
JRUN3.0
The TCP protocol is being used in the communication
Error messages
Web Users receive: Socket read error: connection reset by peer
Trace files on the sever: Read unexpected EOF ERROR on 18.
Explanation: The error in the server sqlnet trace file, suggests that a client connection has terminated abnormally, i.e. client machine powered off, a cable removed or a network connection aborted without warning. No user has complained of such a problem and there is no client trace with an error.
The problem
The users of the java web application, experiencing an exception almost once or twice a day.
The JRUN web-server reports broken connections to the db and client are receiving "connection reset by peer".
At the moment when the errors occurs the users just have to wait a while(2-10 min) and then they can use the web application again.(no action is taken)
This problem can not be reproduced. The problem happens only occasionally when the network is under heavy load and new DB connection is being created.
The application
The java web-application uses a customized connection pooling against the database. This pool is shared among all the users of the website. whenever a user process needs to fetch data from the database, a free connection from this pool is allocated. The application is testing if the connection is valid before making a transaction (select '1' from dual). When the error occurs a ORA-3113 end-of-file on communication channel is returned to the application.
The path between the client and db involves at least two firewalls. The firewalls are opened for sql*net traffic. The network group can tell that enquiries from the app.server is not getting feedback from the db. They have not however, identified if the enquiries are reaching the db-srever, or if they are stopped earlier in the network.
Around 1000 users, are using other applications which uses dedicated sqlnet connections against the db and they have not experienced any problems.
Issues considered
Connection pooling
It is a customized connection pooling, developed by Lindorff developers.
I have read through the source code for the connection pooling and it does the job as it should, and in case of bad connection, it tries to create a new connection.
The log file shows that the call to the method DriverManager.getConnection() hangs until the server goes down, which is probably because of the fact that the method DriverManager.setLoginTimeout(), does not take effect and timeout value is Zero. ( According to oracle , Oracle JDBC does not support login timeouts and calling the static DriverManager.setLoginTimeout() method will have no effect).
Firewall
One thing to consider is when the firewall may decide to shut down the socket due to long inactivity of a connection. This will cause problems to JDBC Connection Pool because the pool is not aware of this disconnection at the TCP/IP level; until someone checks out the connection from the pool and tries to use it. The user will get a Socket read error: connection reset by peer.
Jrun timeout paramter is less than the firewalls timeout so the firewall will not close a connection before Jrun does.
Number of processes the DB can handle
Processes parameter is 1300, , they have not experienced the Oracle error msg max # of processes reached.
Port redirection through a firewall:
Since the firewall has a sql net proxy Port redirection through a firewall is not a problem. Problems with port redirection only appear at connect time, but in this situation the connections fail long after the connection is established.
The network group
The network people who investigaged the problem at Lindorff report that there are a significant amount of "dropped packages" between the database server and the jdbc client (web-application) 24 hrs. The reason for this is "unknown established TCP packet" which means that the firewall does not consider these packages to be part of an already established session. The network group believes this happen because one of the hosts send a RESET or FIN signal which the firewall have noticed but are not received by the other host.
It seems like the firewall are dropping packages bacause of "Unknown
established TCP packet" from both the JDBC client and the TNSLISTENER on the database server. The dropped packages are SQL*Net v2 traffic so clearly Oracle products are involvedPresumably something is working.
Thus the problem is not with your code. At least not the database part that you have control over.
That error occurs when the other side closes the socket. Presumably you are catching lost connection exceptions and trying to restore it. -
Hi,
I have an agent running on a windows machine and I am getting a "peer not authenticated" error message when trying to configure it. Also I am getting errors when trying to access the "performance" link and the "administration" link. All other links work properly. Here is emoms.trc

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advanceWe had a similar issue. It was because some garbage was in the repository and the etc/hosts file needed tweeking.
Here is what we did....
Issue:
"Communication from the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host failed. Refer to help for details. peer not authenticated"
1. Stop OEM agent on problem host
2. Login to oem console and note the problematic host name & agent port exactly as it appears in the OEM console.
3. Remove all targets for this agent via the OEM console.
4. Remove agent via OEM console.
5. Login to repository database as sys and run the following command:
exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('HOSTNAME:AGENT_PORT');commit;
6. Remove agent software from the problematic host.
7. In /etc/hosts file on the OEM server, local host entry should be unique and formated as follows:
3.24.7.156 unxoradb014.corporate.ge.com unxoradb014
8. Reinstall agent on the host.
