Pegging between SNP orders?

Is there pegging relationships between SNP orders? If it's so, what are the differences between pegging of SNP and PP/DS orders.
Thanks

Hi Mikalai,
SNP has 3 solvers for rough-cut capacity planning i.e. Heuristics, Capability-To-Match and Optimizer. Heuristics and Optimizer are time-series based solvers and pegging is not supported using these solvers. The only solver that is order-based is CTM and with CTM pegging is possible. Even though CTM is different from rest of the SNP, it is often gets clubbed with SNP functionality.
SNP can only schedule to a minimum of one day granularity and where as PP/DS can schedule to second. As far as pegging methods are concerned, fixed & dynamic pegging are available for both CTM & PP/DS.
Hope this helps.

    Hi Burak,
In IMG, use the following menu path
SAP SCM Impl Guide --- APO --- Supply Chain planning --- PPDS --- Global settings --- Maintain Global parameters and values --- Under Planning Tab --- Activate fixed pegging.
This is universal setting for the entire client.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between snp planned order and pp/ds planned order

    Hi to all,
can any one please explain the difference between snp planned order and pp/ds planned order. I am relatively new to this area

The primary differences are as below.
    1. The master data for SNP Planned Order is SNP PPM/PDS where the minimum duration for an operation is a day. So it is used for rough cut capacity planning.
The master data for PPDS Planned Order is a PPDS PPM/PDS where operations are down to minute and second level. Moreover sequence dependent operation planning is possible in PPDS Planned Orders. It is for detailed capacity planning.
    2. SNP Planned Orders are created in SNP while PPDS Planned Orders are created in PPDS or when transferred from ERP to APO.
    3. SNP Planned Order need to be converted to a PPDS Planned Order before it can be used in the Execution System (ERP) for further processing - like conversion to Production Order. Moreover the category types of the orders are different in APO (EE for SNP and AI for PPDS).
    Hope this helps.

  • Link between process order and sales order for planning strategy 52

    Hello,
I investigate the possibility of a link between "sales order" and "planned order / process order" for the usage of planning strategy 52 (planning w/o final assembly, make to stock).
I know, this is not conform to the basics of planning strategies (EITHER make to order OR make to stock) and I suspect it would be a modification. Of course we have the alternative "make to order" - strategy 50, but we do not want to use individual customer stocks.
Is anybody there with similar customer requirements or project experiences?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joerg

    Hi Jorg,
To my understanding if you need hard pegging then in SAP only Individual requirement is possible.
Or else you need to create a custom transactions/table to identify Sale order and when ever a process order is created by selecting the sale order record, the process order detials should also get updated against that.
You need to take the help of ABAP expert for this,

  • The relationship between production order and purchase requistion After running MPS

    Dear Experts:
I met a issue . My users want to know the relationship between production order and purchase requistion . In my company we create production order and  purchase req. by  running MRP. our operations are:
    1. T-CODE: MD41  create planned order .
    2. T-CODE: CO41 convert planned order to production order .
    3. T-CODE: MD15 convert planned order to purchase Requisition.
but I can't  find the  relation of them. would you like to give me some advices? thank you very much.

    Hello
On the standard MTS process there is no link between the requirement (STO) and the replenishment element (production order).
See the below extraction from note 12955:
There is no index that the system could use to determine which issue element (sales order, planning, reservation, dependent requirement, ...) is covered by a certain receipt element (purchase order, production order, purchase requisition, planned order, stock level ...).
A production order, for example, can be created to cover several different requirements, even when you are using lot sizing procedure EX.
You can use transaction MD09 or MD04to determine the pegged requirements, but they are calculated dynamically and there is not fixed link between requirement and receipt.

    Hi All,
Need help to find out link between process order and purchase order.
We have purchase order, we can find out associated process order in MD09 (No Purchase Requisition found in Purchase order). When I tired to replicate this scenario with same material in system but not able to do.
Please suggest me what needs to check to get purchase order link to process order.. (this is not subcontracting )

MD09 is pegging. In SAP pegging is dynamic, meaning that there's no fixed link between purchase order and process order in your case.
This is why you did not get the same result when you tried again later.
Such a link can exist only if you do direct procurement for the order.

  • Difference between SNP and PPDS.

    Hi all,
i want to know the functional diff betwn Snp and PPDS. .
i mean what activities come under Snp, after what activities it is under PPDS. . .
Any info on the same will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Prasad.

    Hi Prasad,
SNP basically does rough cut capacity planning on a constrained or unconstraint situation whereas PPDS does time continous finite capacity based on constraint or unconstaint situation.
SNP & PPDS works on horizons.  There are scenarios were SNP horizon can overlap with PPDS horizon.
SNP uses SNP PPM as master data whereas PPDS PPM as master data.  The output are SNP orders and PPDS orders.
The minimum day for SNP planning is 1 day whereas PPDS can go upto even 1 sec(ie microscopic planning)
Starting from a demand plan, Supply Network Planning determines a permissible short- to medium-term plan for fulfilling the estimated sales volumes. This plan covers both the quantities that must be transported between two locations (for example, distribution center to customer or production plant to distribution center), and the quantities to be produced and procured. When making a recommendation, Supply Network Planning compares all logistical activities to the available capacity
We use the Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) component
    a) To create procurement proposals for in-house production or external procurement to cover product requirements
    b)  To optimize and plan the resource schedule and the order dates/times in detail

  • Difference between SNP PDS and PPDS PDS

    HI Experts.
Can you tell the major differences between SNP PDS and PPDS PDS.
    Thanks
    Raja kiran R

    Hi Raja,
Unlike PPDS planning (time-continuous planning), the least time bucket in SNP planning (bucket oriented planning) is a day, not seconds. Which is why the duration of individual activities in SNP PDS are planned in days only. Scheduling in SNP is based on the fixed duration of an activity and not based on order quantity or capacity load. If a plan contains 3 activities each with fixed duration of 1 day, then the SNP planned order will have duration of 3 days.
On the other hand in PPDS, the duration of an acitivity is calculated based on the resource load that generates the order quanitity, which means larger the qty to be produced, the longer the duration of the activity.
    Hope this helps!

  • Rolling schedules for steel options between SNP and PPDS

We are trying to set up something within the APO SNP/PPDS tool to
    plan rolling schedules for steel.
eg multiple resources, most of which are 100 percent rolling schedules,
with many different "blocks", and common rolls may occur say every 4 weeks, or
    every 14 weeks.
And so each roll we need to plan "Quantity required before the next roll" - eg
    a 14 week quantity.
We have set up PPDS Blocks using CDP settings with characteristics in our
    test system.
Seperate to that we have an SNP model where we plan across multiple plants,
for a 12-24 month period, and we have multiple level BOMS where there may
be 2 semi-finished products between the Finished and Raw material. Eg heat
    treated and non-heat treated.
Sometimes one of the interim semi-finished products is the bottleneck, so we
need to use capacity leveling to reduce quantities at all levels of the BOM.
Our main issue is that the SNP quantities that we plan, we are not able to feed into
the PPDS blocks, as SNP does not deal with characteristics.
So in our test, all we can do is use the SNP quantities for higher level plans.
Then delete the SNP orders, and re-run a new PPDS plan to get quantities in our blocks,
but we then have lost all the capacity levelling information from SNP.
Does anyone have any method to deal with this scenario? ie how to model rolling schedules
by utilising the strengths of the SNP mult-plant and capacity leveling data, and then
somehow also taking into account "blocks", or "rolling schedules"?

In our testing. With CDP setting, we create a fcst element with a characteristic on the material. eg RED/BLUE/GREEN, and in PPDS, I can then create a PPDS order with the characterstic linked and visible in the PPDS order, and linked to the BLOCK on the resource (Blocks of RED GREEN for example)
But SNP orders do not work with these characteristics.
This is backed up by various documentation from SAP.
    eg
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/b0/3c2463c7cbb54bacfb75c789100ad4/content.htm
SNP cannot plan with characteristics. However, the characteristic assignments remain and can be evaluated in PP/DS.
    CDP in SNP
CDP cannot be used in SNP as the SNP does __not support__ characteristics.

  • Differece between SNP Optimizer and Deployment Optimizer

    Hi,
Can anyone please list down the difference in the planning method for a deployment optimizer and SNP Optimizer?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanjog Mishrikotkar

    Hi Sanjog,
First of all if we understand the difference between SNP Heuristic Planning run which finds the 'Source' of Supply with dates and quantities and Deployment Planning run which CONFIRMs the Supply .... then it is easy to understand the difference between SNP & Deployment Optimizer.
The Optimizer as you know Optimizes based on Costs and Objectively tries to MINIMIZE it.  Therefore while the SNP Optimizer finds the most cost effective way of finding the Source of Supply with dates and quantities, identifying where in SC it is better to Store or move the Product,  while the Deployment Optimizer generates the Best way to CONFIRM whether the Supply can ACTUALLY be done for the next few days.  Deployment precedes the TLB Run which after confirmation we put the Quantities on a Transport Load to build Orders for Execution (Shipping).
Both are Cost based & use the Same Costs Information ... however one Plans and the Other Confirms.  During Deployment Optimization run, the Optimizer may decide to confirm the supply from a different source than what the SNP Optimizer planned based on the Available to Deploy Stock Quanties and the Cost of Confirming the Supply.  The Deployment Optimizer will apply Fairshare & Push/Pull Rules and looks at the Push and Pull Deployment Horizons which SNP Optimizer cannot.  The Difference is also in Planning Time Range.  You plan SNP Supply for mid to long term time range.  The Deployment looks at Confirming the supply in the next few days from TODAY.
So in short first understand the Difference between a SNP Heuristic and Deployment Heuristic and apply the same principle to a cost based optimization. This should tell you the difference between the two.
Try read this ...  First para on Deployment Optimizer ...

  • Copy Control between Sales Orders and Deliveries

    Hi Gurus,
please can you tell me why copy control between Sales Order and Delivery doesn't work?
At header level, into copy control, we can set 2 requirement routines, one as general requirement for copying (TVCPL-AUBED) and the other one as requirement for grouping orders into deliveries (TVCPL-AUZUS).
At header level we can also set a routine for data transfer to define how data are passed from Sales Order header to Delivery header (TVCPL-GRUAK).
Then we can set routines at item level, one as requirement (TVCPL-AUBED) and one as data transfer (TVCPL-GRUAP).
When delivery is created with VL10A transaction, at header level only the first  general requirement routine is used (FV50B***). Grouping requirement is not used (we also set a break point and the program is not passing into this routine).
Then it is used the requirement routine at item level (FV50B***).
Please can you tel me how we camake working the routine for grouping requirement at header level?
    Thank you very much.
    Kind Regards
    Andrea

Hi, we used standard routine even if to be sure we run also the generation report you mentioned.
    Please any other suggestions?
    Thank you very much.

  • Mapping between Sales Order-Schedule-Line and Delivery-item

    Hi together,
I want to extend the Datasource 2LIS_12_VCITM (Delivery-number, -item, Order-number,-item is available) by Sales Order Schedule Line.
Could not find any ERP table (VBEP and LIPS allow a mapping only on item level) for the mapping between Sales Order Schedule Line and Delivery item yet. The use of the extractor 2LIS_12_VCSCL for the extention (e.g. infoset) afterwards is no option.

  • Difference between sales order schedule line and item level data

    Hi All,
Could you please let me know what is the difference between sales order schedule line and item level data?
    Thanks,
    Ramya

    Hi Ramya,
Sales order schedule line contains del date, order qty, rounded qty, confirmed qty, delivery qty, schedule line category, purchase requisition etc.,  ie It contains the full details of sales order data with respect to the scheduled line of delivery.  The total quantity of a sales order item can be subdivided into schedule lines that contain the various subsets with the corresponding delivering dates.
Sales order Item level data contains details of the item in the sales order like material code, net price, net value, UoM, PO details, reason for rejection if any, material group, billing date, plant etc., ie this
contains the full details of item irrespective of scheduled line.

  • 051 routine between sales order and delivery copy control

    Hi,
The copy control routine 051 in copy control from sales order to delivery defines four combination criteria.
    1) delivery types same in config of sales doc type
    2) sales org same of the sales orders
    3) delivery indicator same
    4) billing type same as defined in sales doc type.
my question is if i have the follwoing copy control defined between sales order and delivery :-
sales       del           sales       deliv         bill      routine
order        type         org        agreement       type     in copy ctrl
    type
    ZOR          ZLF          1000         SAME          ZF2         051
    ZTSD          ZLF          1000         SAME          ZF2         051
my question is how will the routine combine  all the sales doc type into a single delivery.  my confusion is since the rotuine is attached to every combination of sales doc type and delivery type in copy control, how will the routine identify that it has to combine the sales doc type ZOR and ZSTD into a single delivery.
one of the statements wriiten in routine 051 is that " check sales org is same for all document ". does this mean that the routine will identify sales orders with doc type ZOR only  if the routine is attached in config for copy contol between zor and zlf and  i remove the routine for copy control belwteen zstd and zlf.
    regards
    sachin

Sales order is the order from your customer and delivery is when you are delivering the item.
Shipping: In general  when the item is dispached from the warehouse, we can say the item is shipped, where as delivery is item/product reaching to the end customer.
    Hope it helps,
