I recently downloaded weblogic/oracle 10.3.1 server, installed it and went to create an application. However, the
api.jar file was only 5xx bytes in size. When I did a tvf on it, all that was in it was the Manifest.MF. What happened
to all the classes that are supposed to be in there?

Problem with addition of jar file to DC
Hi WDers,
I have a DC of type WD.
I'm trying to add com.sap.security.api.jar file to this component so that I can get IUser and work on it.
I have added this security jar file as an External jar file to the DC. But whenever I try to DC->Build, the jar entry is going away. So the Build is failing.
Can you kindly let me know why this is happening?
Or is there any other way to add a jar file so that I can use the IUser interface in my view?
Thanks in Advance
RKHello,
Add the Standard DC "com.sap.security.api.sda" from the SAP-JEE. This ahould solve the problem.
To do that follow the steps:
1. Go to the "DC Metadata" option available under the DC.
2. Go to "Used DCs" and choose "Add used DCs" from the context menu which appears on a right click at the Used Dcs option.
3.Select "com.sap.security.api.sda" under SAP-JEE and choose finish.
4. Build the DC to gain access to the IUser and other related classes.

Where to put jar files reachable for ejb:s?
Hello!
I have a ejb that use some jar files.
But I can not figure out where to put the jar files that I use from my ejb in Weblogic 8.1.3.
Until now I have extracted all jar files and put them inside my ejb with my own class files. But this seems odd.
So please help me out here.
Best regrads
FredrikDear,
You might have downloaded either tar.gz or zip file. when you extract this file you will find a jar file and also some demos nad docs(api+help). place the poifs api jar file in 'WEB-INF\lib" folder and restart the server.
In general any api jar files for web applications should be placed in WEB-INF\lib folder then only they are accesible. If you extracted the jar, then place entire package structure in WEB-INF\classes directory

Hidden *.jar file???
Hi,
I search the file com.sap.security.api.jar.
(I already installed the NWDS)
But I need a version which contains the interface:

It's not in any of the com.sap.security.api.jar files I have on my machine and it's also not listed in the API?! http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/current/se/index.html
Has anyone an idea where I can find it?

Alternative to endorsing jar files?
Hi
I want to use the xerces api jar file rather than the sun xml api files. It seems I have to endorse the jar files by putting it in the lib\endorsed directory. But that is going to globally have an affect. I just want only my portal application to get this jar overriden. Anything I can do with the classloading to get this working? Please help. Thanks a lot!My point wasn't that I wanted to troubleshoot what I had (though I appreciate the offer). I've actually sorted through a few of the issues already. My overall question is if there is a better alternative. The labview implementation doesn't handle errors well at all. For example, it failed to detect that it couldn't find that value in the file (which was written there by the write function, not by hand so I'm reasonably sure it is properly formatted). I'm more interested to see if this is the major option for config values or if people use an alternative (i.e. xml).

How to port Personal Profile Application to PalmOS emulator
Hi Everyone,
I have implemented an application by using Personal Profile API in Linux RedHat9.0. But I don't know how to port the application to a PalmOS emulator.
Would anyone advice me?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
PaulYes, means you cannot currently. There is no Java Virtual Machine and matching Java Class Libraries supporting the Personal Profile which runs on a PalmOS device. Currently there are MIDP 1.0 implementations for Palm OS implemented in 68k. IBM is currently working with PalmOne and together we are developing a native ARM based MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1 solution for the PalmOS 5+ Tungsten devices.

of this .jar file then how I can call that xercesImpl.jar in my Application.jar newly created.

Thanks in advance.either add the other jar file to your classpath or do the following (taken from http://javaalmanac.com/egs/java.lang/LoadClass.html)
e68. Loading a Class That Is Not on the Classpath
A URLClassLoader can be used to load classes in any directory.
// Create a File object on the root of the directory containing the class file
File file = new File("c:\\myclasses\\");
try {
// Convert File to a URL
URL url = file.toURL(); // file:/c:/myclasses/
URL[] urls = new URL[]{url};
// Create a new class loader with the directory
ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
// Load in the class; MyClass.class should be located in
// the directory file:/c:/myclasses/com/mycompany
Class cls = cl.loadClass("com.mycompany.MyClass");

How to use the COMM API in a JAR file
I have developed an application, using the NetBeans IDE, to communicate with a modem over the COM1 serial port using the Java Comm API. The application works fine within the IDE, but when a JAR file is created and "double-clicked", the application launches correctly, but when the code is executed to "talk" over the COM1 serial port - nothing happens. No exceptions and no warnings are thrown. My environment is XP, SP1.
The manifest file is as follows:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Class-Path: ../j2sdk1.4.2/jre/lib/ext/TimerBean.jar ../j2sdk1.4.2/jre/
lib/ext/AbsoluteLayout.jar ../j2sdk1.4.2/jre/lib/ext/comm.jar
Created-By: NetBeans IDE
Specified-By: Projects/TheApp/Files/TheApp.jarContent
Main-Class: Main
According to the Comm API installation instructions, the following files are copied:
copy comm.jar \j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib\ext
copy wind32com.dll \j2sdk1.4.2\bin
copy javax.comm.properties \j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib
I suspect it has something to do with the paths.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Thanks for your input, but after trying what you suggested the problem still exists. I think your right to be suspicous of the javax.comm.properties file. The application, that worked in the IDE, exhibits the same behavoir as the JAR file if the javax.comm.properties file is removed from the ../jre/lib directory. In other words it compiles correctly in the IDE, but when executed, nothing happens when the code that "talks" to the serial port is run.
I've tried moving the javax.comm.properties file into the working directory. Also, the CLASSPATH and PATH system variables were modified to include the path to javax.comm.properties.
If you have anymore ideas, please let me know.
Thanks.
