Personalization: Newly Created Item to be Validated

Hi,
How can I include a validation to a new item in OAF personalization?
My requirement is to enable this new item only when TYPE = 'Yes' and disable when TYPE <> 'Yes'. This TYPE field varies for different records.
Thanks!

Hi,
Is this a Standard page OR a custom one???
If it's a standard one then you have to extend the controller. Validation part can't be done by Personalization.
Thanks

  • Newly created item through personalization not visible

    Hi All,
    I have added on new item , in a page,
    Howerver when I clicked apply on that item , once I define the required properties of the item.
    I am getting this error
    "Attachment item "%ITEM" has been created successfully, however, it does not have an Entity Map associated with it. To avoid a runtime error, please either create an Entity Map for this attachment item, or delete attachment item "%ITEM"."
    I am not able to locate that item , anywhere * either in personalzied page nor in application page

    I have gone to personalize page -> selected LOVRN -> create item ->
    level - Site
    Item Type - MessageLOVInput
    Prompt - some custom prompt
    Id - some custom id
    External LOV- given exisitng seeded path for LOV with region name in the last
    apply .
    Then the error appeared as
    Attachment item "%ITEM" has been created successfully, however, it does not have an Entity Map associated with it. To avoid a runtime error, please either create an Entity Map for this attachment item, or delete attachment item "%ITEM". appeared
    After the above steps complete. I have again gone to personalization ->complete view . But I am not able to locate the item created in above mentioned steps.
    One thing to note, I have tried creating new item , however everytime I am getting the above error after clicking on apply. In one occasion I have given incomplete path in the external LOV field mentioned above.(i.e. I forgot to mention the region Name )

  • Personalizations with Create Item and Item Style "Pop Up"?

    Can anyone provide me an example of how to create a simple pop up message?  I would attempt to create this with Oracle Personalizations -> Create Item -> Item Style "Pop Up".
    I attempted to create the pop up message but am not successful.
    Any guidenace would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Timo,
    My question is related to personalizations in Oracle Self Service pages,  Currently I am on Oracle APPS R.12.1.3.
    The Self Service pages are associated to a VIEW OBJECT that is either copied from Oracle seeded VOs or created and/or modified in JAVA.
    You can also perform a "Personalization" within the form and by pass making updates in JAVA.  This option is available in any self-service screen, top right corner labeled "Personalize Page".  Once you select "Personalize Page, there is a option called "Create Item" that will allow you to create a new column or custom action.
    My request is simply to understand how to utilize the seeded "Create Item" and within this function "Pop Up" in order for a page or message to appear immediately after for example the user select a button or enters data into a field.
    Not sure if I can perform this within a "Personlization" or is updating the underlining View Object or Controller class is required.
    Thank you and I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

  • Newly Created items not seen when creating a quote

    Hi,
    I created a new item and now I am trying to add this item in the my new quote. I cannot find the item. Is there any concurrent program or any setup I need to do so that it reflects in the quotes. Please help as I am new to this and not aware of the functional setups for this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Bm

    Hi,
    Please review the following document:
    Cannot find items to add to a Quote (Doc ID 340933.1)
    Excerpt from this document:
    1. Determine where the application is searching for the item by checking the value for the profile 'ASO: Enable Intermedia Search'
         If set to Yes - both the interMedia Search and Inventory tables are searched
         If set to No  - only the Inventory table is searched
         Note:  In R12, the HTML UI will always use the interMedia search.
    2. Verify the inventory item meets the following criteria:
    A) The current date must be within the start and end date range set for the product
    B) The product must be valid for the inventory organization of the operating unit in which the quote is created.
    C) The product must be in the default category set defined for/in the functional area "Order Management."
    Inventory Organization is determined as follows:
    - Quoting UI first reads the value of profile ASO: Category Set.
    - If this profile is not set, it reads from OM functional area.
        (Navigation -> OM > Setup > Items > Categories > Default Category Sets)
    using the OM responsibility which points to the same OU as the Quoting responsibility.
    D) The product must have the "Customer Orders Enabled" flag enabled..
    E) The BOM Item Type must be Model or Standard.
    F) The Primary UOM is not ENR.
    3. If the interMedia search is enabled, make sure the iStore Search Insert concurrent program was run to populate the interMedia search table.
      See Note 261454.1 - 'How to reduce the number of records inserted by iStore Search Insert?'  for information on the profiles that determine which items are inserted into this table by the program.
      See Note 1263758.1 - How To Locate which Responsibility the iStore Search Insert Concurrent Program can be run from?
    Note: Only interMedia Search is supported in R12 HTML Quoting.  Hence, it is enabled by default.
    Additional troubleshooting queries are in this document.

  • Can't create item extending controller

    Hi everybody, I need your help.
    I need to put a checkbox validation in OIE Details Page > Expense Details. I tried to do it using Personalization, but Create Item icon is disabled. So I'm trying to do it extending the controller but I'm stuck in this point.
    I'm woriking on R11i. I think I have to extend "DetailDataInputCO". I used this code but the item doesn't appear.
    public class xxDetailDataInputCO extends DetailDataInputCO
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OAMessageCheckBoxBean ccidbean = (OAMessageCheckBoxBean)pageContext.getWebBeanFactory().createWebBean(pageContext, OAWebBeanConstants.MESSAGE_CHECKBOX_BEAN, null, "xxValidation");
    ccidbean.setID("xxValidation");
    ccidbean.setUINodeName("xxValidation");
    ccidbean.setText("I confirm that all aspects of my time entries are accurate.");
    ccidbean.setPrompt("Test");
    Please, tell me what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I checked the Region, even I didnt see the "Create Item" image (not only enabled, the image itself not there).
    So you want to add a checkbox under "Flow Layout: Expense Details".(flowLayout id="DetailFields" )
    <your code start>
    OAHeaderBean hb = (OAHeaderBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("XXXID");
    //Second Create a bean to that
    //add Index to the Header Region
    hb.addIndexedChild(ccidbean);
    <your code ends>
    Instead of add the item to yoru custom Header Bean,
    Can you get the handle of the flowlayout with the id "DetailFields" and then add to that (There is a way to add it in a particular position also).
    import oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.beans.layout.OAFlowLayoutBean;
    OAFlowLayoutBean detailsFlowLayout = (OAFlowLayoutBean) webBean.findChildRecursive("DetailFields");
    if(detailsFlowLayout !=null)
    detailsFlowLayout.addIndexedChild(ccidbean);
    // You can use addIndexedChild(int childIndex, UINode child) to add it in a particular index.
    Thanks,
    With regards,
    Kali.

  • Using a newly created Library document to create a list item and attach itself

    I have a workflow that moves a document from one library to another.
    When a document is moved to a certain library I want to create a list item with a link to the document in the list item.  Keep in mind there could be 10 files submitted to the library, so then in my list I would want 10 new list items created for
    each file, with a link to the individual file. or is there a way to attach the document to a newly created list item programmatically?
    is this possible?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use a newly created Library document to create a list item and attach itself.
    I recommend to create a workflow assocaited to the second library, and start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
    Then add action as below:

    And on functional administrator responsibility's any page (like profile page in core, create Item is there).
    Its been checked on other instances that the create item button appears there for the same pages in problem.
    What can be the reason?

    Hi,
    Talked to Anil enabled "FND: Personalization Seeding Mode / FND_PERSONALIZATION_SEEDING_MODE" personalization link. It worked (even though the documentation says that its only for oracle's internal usage).
    Also related diagnostic story got via other cooleague with deeper cause of the problem and solution.

  • Not able to fine Create Item column in the Page personalization

    Dear All,
    I am not able to find the "Create Item" column in OA page personalization. Do we need to set any profile options for this?
    Regards,
    Joshna.

    Hope you have set these profile option.
    Personalize Self-Service Defn should also to Yes
    Disable Self-service Personal to No
    FND%Diagon% to yes
    Once you are going for personlization, you would be getting personlize Page link.
    Click personlize page link
    Select Scope
    select complete Radio Button
    select Create Item Icon for a region(table)
    Thanks

    Can anyone please suggest Do I have to do any setup or any profile option needs to be enabled.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Enable profile 'FND: Personalization Seeding Mode', clear the cache and check if this solves your problem.

  • Item & page level validation

    1. How do I check/see if a validation rule is page level or item level, I couldn't find any difference in the definitions between the two as seen on the definition screens in APEX.
    2. (Could be related to 1.) I expected the validation rule 'Item in Expression1 contains at least one of the characters in Expression2' to imply that Expression1 can not be NULL. I had to create a separate IS NOT NULL validation rule however. To me that does not make sense or is there a reasonable explanation?
    tia,
    Martin

    Martin,
    As Tony said, there is no difference between page and item validations other than the ability for item validations to have error messages positioned right next to their label.
    As for the null value problem, the following "item comparison" -type validations do not produce a validation error if the specified item is null:
    * Item specified contains no spaces
    * Item specified is a valid date
    * Item in Expression 1 contains only characters in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 contains at least one of the characters in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 does not contain any of the characters in Expression 2
    This allows you to account for the null value case with a separate "not null" validation. Without this behavior there would have to be a "Item in Expression 1 is NULL OR <remainder of validation>" -type validation in addition to each of the above validation types.
    However, the following validation types do result in a validation failure if the item is null:
    * Item in Expression 1 equals string literal in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 is contained in Expression 2
    This behavior appears to be an oversight, also spelled bug.

    * Please tell me how to assign project specific task with the newly created projects??? *
    Also please tell me how to assign multiple * Project_Relationship_Code * (ex: END CLIENT, GENERAL CONTRACTOR, PRIMARY) for a particular project during project creation?

    Are you not storing the project number in the staging table designed for storing the task data? You can use create_project API to create the project and tasks at the same time with one single call. You may want to try that option

  • Not inserting records in a newly created table

    Hi everybody,
    I have imported four tables in a source module and used the Join Operator in order to insert the rows in one newly created table.
    This table - designed in a target module - was created in the desired schema , but without the relevant rows , as I expected...
    NOTE : the where clause , i have defined in the Join Operator, is not the problem , as I removed it and the rows are not inserted...in the table
    Also , the sample PL/SQL code which was created automatically , was exactly as I expected - I mean the 'insert into ... select.....' clause was right...
    What may be the problem..?
    Thanks , a lot
    Simon

    Hi Jaap,
    thanks for your reply...
    Sorry for being a little unclear ...
    I have followed the instrunctions in the on-line help of OWB , and :
    1) have imported four code tables into a source module . The tables are in an Oracle RDBMS 10g .
    2)I have created manually a table - using the OWB client tool - which consisted of some of the columns found in the four tables .
    3)I have inserted a Join Operator in order to correlate the four table columns with the columns of the target module.
    4)I have defined the Join condition of the the four table columns. In my first post , unintenionally I have written that I removed the Join Operator. I meant the Join Condition in order to make sure that the join condition isn't the reason that the records are not inserted....
    5)I have validated and generated the mapping without any errors - not even warnings.
    6)I have selected Project->Deployment Manager and I selected the OWB_RUN user - which is the Runtime Repository owner.
    7)I have selected the objects to deploy - the mapping , the one table I created in the target module. The deployment has succedded , and the table was created but no records are found in it.
    Now , is there a possibility that this problem is caused by absence of the privileges to insert the rows...?
    How can I check that the source tables are filled on the registered location of your source module?
    Another basic question...
    I have created a Runtime Repository owner - called owb_run- using the Runtime Repository Assistant . I use this user in order to deploy the mapping and the new table. I want -and it is created- that table in another schema (user his_dw) - even another database in the same server. Should I run the Runtime Repository owner in this schema (his_dw)???
    Thanks , again a lot

  • How to cause a form to reload with a newly created record?

    I hope this is easy and I'm just missing it.
    I have a form based on a table (a "parent" table.). The parent table uses a trigger to generate the PK.
    When a new parent record is created with the form, I want the page to reload with the newly created record still in the form. Then some conditional regions based upon child-tables would appear, with options to populate the detail records.
    My problem is simple: how can I access the value of the primary key of the newly created record once it is submitted to the database, so I can use it to reload that record into the form?
    Thanks very much for your help!

    John - The DML process (Automatic Row Processing) has a Return Key Into Item option. That's what you need.
