Pesky WHITE SCREEN in between Slides during Slideshow
Hi,
So i set up a presentation and to view my work i'll go to Slideshow and it appears like this...
Click Spacebar - White screen
Click Spacebar - Slide 1
Click Spacebar - White screen
Click Spacebar - Slide 2
Click Spacebar - White screen
Click Spacebar - Slide 3
Basically there's a blank screen in between my slides! Is this a setting that can be turned off? The tutorial videos i've watched never have this pesky white screen.
How do I fix this?

Ok, I know this is an older post, but for those of you, like me, who ran into to the same issue and ran across this post, here is the answer.
The flashing is caused by PPT slide transitions. Highlight all your slides, right click, select None for transitions and re-import.
**sigh** lessons learned.

Slideshow marred by menu screen inserted between slides
I have a slideshow in my iDVD project that is set to:
- Fit to audio
- Droplet transition
- And in Settings only Duck audio while playing movies
It looks fine with I preview it in iDVD. However, when I burn it the slideshow on the finished DVD has a snapshot of my Menu screen inserted between each and every one of my slides.
What would cause that? How can I fix it?
Thanks.Did you burn to disk directly from iDVD? If so save the project as a disk image, File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Open the disk image and launch DVD Player to play your project. Check the slideshow carefully. If it plays correctly then the problem lies in the burn process.
Once you've confirmed that the encoding is good and the dvd plays correctly with DVD Player burn to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Pause on slide during slideshow
Can't figure out how to pause on a slide during a slideshow. I've seen info about pushing the F key, but that doesn't work for me. I want the show on 'Normal' so that I can create specific transition and 'holds.' I tried the 'Self play' and don't understand the difference between a slide show that is all configured to play and loop vs. a 'Self play' one, but I didn't have many choices for timing in Self play, and the F was not working correctly.
Could use advice.

RobMy apologies, what my brain was thinking and what I sent are a little different.
Let me start again.
Normal Play presentations advance manually by a mouse click or pressing the space bar, once the next slide has advanced, the presentation will pause. Therefore the presentation is paused after each slide appears. Normal Play presentations are set up in; Inspector > Document; in the Presentation Type drop down menu; select Normal
Automatic Presentations advance automatically using the transitions, builds and timing set in the Inspector. This type of presentation can be paused using the F key (freeze). Automatic Presentations are set up in the Inspector > Document; in the Presentation Type drop down menu select Normal.
in Inspector > Animate add the ffect then in the Start Transition drop down menu select; Automatically. Set the delay for how long the slide appears onscreen.
Self Playing presentations are used where an unattended presentation is set to run continuously without user intervention, this is called digital signage; examples are hotel receptions and adverts in shopping malls. The F key is inactive in this setup so that the presentation is not stalled.
Self play is set up in Inspector > Document; change the Presentation type drop down menu to: Self Playing.
The timing in a self play presentation is set up in Inspector > Animate; change the start transition drop down menu to Automatically and set the delay to the time you want the slide to appear on screen. -
Publishing: white screen instead of slides
hi.
i'm using captivate for recording and publishing
presentations (lasting one hour each, incl. audio and slides). this
time i was using the "application"-version as i was only having
.pdf for the presentation.
previewing the project, the recorded staff works, all slides
are shown. but when publishing them to an .exe- or a flash-file,
around half-time there are no more slides but a white screen
instead, the audio continues. i tried it several times, always with
the same result.
for a better understanding, here an explication on the
structure of my project:
- only 1 "slide" (1 hour)
- 1 audio bar (1 hour)
- 1 loong bar called "entry" (i hope that's the right
translation, i'm using the german version) storing the slide
changes
any ideas how to get an .exe- and/or a flash-file showing the
slides till the end instead of switching to those nasty white
(empty) slides?

I am having a similar problem to this in a project created in
Captivate 3.
My project is an interactive training app, it has about 70
slides in all, a combination of static slides with click boxes and
some animation slides (all captured through Captivate).
When I first created and published it as an exe there was no
problem but after a full reinstall of Windows I now have the white
screen problem when viewing the published exe.
It only occurs on slides with animation on them and only
occurs on my computer, if I test them on another they work fine.
The slide plays fine when using "preview | play this slide" but not
if I use the other preview options or publish to exe. In those case
I get the white screen and nothing else on the slides with
animation in them.
Is there any posibility this could be related to the version
of Flash Player I am running?
Any advice or hints would be much appreciated.

White Screen of death caused during update of IOS 8.3
My Girlfriend was updating her iPhone 5 to iOS 8.3, A message came in during and she clicked on it. This in turn caused the phone to with to the white screen of death with the apple logo and upload bar paused. We've tried the usual hard re-set, also plugged into iTunes for a factory restore but then it asks for you to click allow on the phone. We can't do this because we can't see anything other than the apple logo.
Every now and then the screen flashes and shows you the home page. and using siri we managed to make a call.
Any help or advise would be great.

That is not a "White Screen of death". That is the reboot screen which the phone does while updating. You should have left it alone. Put the phone in Recovery mode and Restore it in iTunes. -
Etting a white screen when viewing slide show using internet explorer
When I or my clients view a slide show I created in Lightroom 1.4 using Internet Explorer we often get a white screen instead of the slide show. When we view the same using Firefox it works perfectly. I have downloaded Adobe flash reader and it doesn't help. Go on this page to "cannot view full screen flash videos" and follow the instructions or go on the video to watch and do right click, go to setting and uncheck the enable hardware acceleration, close, go the video to watch run it and click on full screen, enjoy -
Fade to black between slides in slideshow, HOW in Lr 5.4???

gocat9As part of your testing make sure you've tried exporting JPGs from the same folder as the CR2s you're exporting as original, and export JPGs from CR2s to the same folder as you're exporting your originals. This would test LR's read and write permissions from and to the folders being used.
From this document you can see that all the LR files other than the program, are under the /Users folder with different values possible for each user, so the difference could be that the users that work are using the original LR defaults, if you have just started using LR with them after you started having this problem, or at least that the user with the problem has some oddball settings that are interfering with Export as Original.
Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
You can test for the Preferences being off by either copying the preferences from a user that has the problem to a user that doesn't have the problem--probably through an external or common folder, or be deleting the preferences file from the user that has the problem and see if it resolves. Moving the preferences file or renaming it may be better than deleting it if no change is seen, then you can restore the preferences back by moving or renaming the file back to the original location and name. -

How can I get rid of a white screen that appears for 3 secs on startup
Since my last Thunderbird upgrade to 31.3 I get a white screen for 3 seconds during start-up and before I see my folders.
I use Thunderbird to access one Yahoo.co.uk account and 2 Outlook.com accounts.
All plugins are disabled.
I have one extension, CompactHeader 2.0.9 which I removed but the problem remained. I have now reinstalled it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird - problem just the same.
If I start in safe mode there is no white screen, it loads normally straight to folders.
I'm not sure what to try next so any suggestions are welcome.

White Screen after battery replacement
I just tried to replace a battery and now I have a white screen…no apple icon during boot. Also noticed while I was in there that the touchpad has a hole in the ribbon cable. Hoping I didn't hose something. Any questions or thoughts?
I had the same problem with the LCD after replacing hinges and could not figure this out.
To solve the issue, I bought another A1237 of eBay that apparently had no HD/SSD, but it arrived with a swollen battery. I removed the bad battery and replaced and moved SSD over and "Voila"...it amazingly light up........... -

It sounds like you are unable to boot your Mac after updating to Yosemite I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue:
Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup
Start with these steps, and work your way down the rest of the article if needed:
Disconnect, test peripheral devices and network cables
Note: "Peripheral devices" refers to external devices other than what came with your Mac, such as hard drives, printers, or hubs that you connect via a USB or FireWire cable.
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Disconnect all peripheral devices such as external hard drives or printers (leave only the display, a keyboard, and mouse connected).
Disconnect any Ethernet cables.
Start up your Mac.
If you can start up this way, one or more of your peripheral devices (or installed software related to the device) is probably causing the gray screen issue. Connect one device, then restart your Mac to test for the issue. Repeat the process until you locate the device at issue. Make sure the device is powered if it needs to be to operate correctly. Check with the manufacturer of the device for support or possible software driver or firmware updates that may be available for the device. Try a different cable with the device if possible (such as a different USB or FireWire cable).
Note: If you have multiple peripheral devices and the issue only occurs when they are all connected, but not when each device is the only peripheral connected, see the Additional Information section below.
If you are using a desktop Mac with a third-party keyboard and/or mouse device, and the issue still occurs, try starting up with an Apple keyboard and mouse connected instead. Try starting with no keyboard and mouse connected, then connect them after start up. Also, try a different USB port on your Mac.
If the gray screen issue persists with no devices connected, go to the next section (with the peripherals still disconnected).

When i go from a slide to the following slide there his a
white screen during a short laps of time.
I check the display time of the slide an it is the same as
the complete time (end).

Was your project created using the Full Motion type of
capture? If so, my guess is that you are seeing a brief delay as
the next segment loads into memory to play. The white is probably
the background of the slide. One way to confirm this is to try
changing the background color of the affected slide to perhaps
bright red. Then you should see a flash of bright red instead of
white.
Assuming I've been correct so far, you could make things seem
more seamless by grabbing a picture of the beginning of the Full
Motion clip. Insert that as the background for the slide and you
should be set.

Sometimes we find that the actual blank slide background will ever so briefly appear and cause that "flash".Is this by chance a "full motion" type of Captivate where you see this happening?
Things you might try:
Edit the slide properties and configure a different background color. Perhaps black?
Grab an image of the slide and configure the image as the slide background.

White screen displays sporadically during interactive content and not for all users
We have an unusual thing happening with some users (5% or less) experiencing a white screen/program lockup when interacting with the training. We think this is related to missing java script file(s), but we aren't 100% sure.
Training is occurring on a variety of different laptops and workstations across the country. All are suppose to be using the latest version of IE (and java). There is no commonality between hardware, users or where in the program the issue occurs.
Some people experience it in module 5 when they have to type data, and others may experience it in module 2 where they just have to click the continue button ( any module for any action - it truly is that random). What's more we can't reproduce the problem on machines that have the latest java files. We have looked over the physical layout of each slide but can find no commands or objects that would cause the problem.
Has anyone experienced this type of sporadic issue? Does anyone have a suggestion for how to fix it? -

9850 White Screen during OS upgrade
After losing power during a security wipe (long story) i've tried several methods to either reload the OS to my BlackBerry 9850 or just wipe it to start from scratch. In each instance, the device can boot to 3/4 of the white bar and then will go to a completely blank screen. This will stay indefinitely until power loss.
1) through my Mac BBDM: when the OS is not detected, I try to upgrade and as the device is initializing, it goes to the white screen and the BBDM eventually says the upgrade was a failure.
2) through mac Terminal: I've tried a factory reset through Terminal using the "./bbdm resettofactory". It gives me a message of "RIM Software" or something to that effect but doesn't seem to reset the device at all.
3) through VirtualBox running windows: I've tried connecting my device this way and though the device appears on the VirtualBox software (it says a RIM Blackberry device is connected via USB), neither BBSAK or AppLoader.exe will detect the device to let me wipe it or go through the AppLoader process.
Any ideas out there? I figure there's got to be a way to force detection such that I might wipe the device to a factory state so that I might then reload the OS.

Given all you describe, I do not think it can be recovered via a MAC. You will need a PC. After you've arranged such access, I recommend the following.
1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below. This is likely moot in your situation.
2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:

It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
