Phone kicks me off internet

i just got my iphone. anytime im on the internet or maps the phone kicks me off after about 2 minutes or so. i dont understand what the problem is. how can i fix this please help

Go to Settings > Safari and select Clear Cache and Clear History and while you are at it, Clear Cookies.
Return to Safari. Press and hold the Home key until Safari quits and the iPhone returns to the Home screen.
Next do a Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. This does not affect and data or settings.

  • Itunes kicks me off internet when I insert CD.

I have dial-up internet (there are no affordable options where I live), and every time I insert a music CD, I get kicked off of the internet. I found a post from last year that said iTunes may be trying to connect to the online CD database, but I don't have any problems accessing the CDDB as long as the CD is already in the computer when I log on. I had hoped this problem would be solved with one of the all too frequent iTunes updates I have to go to other people's houses to download, but so far no luck.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem that doesn't involve spending precious lifetime slowly importing CDs?
iMac G5 2.1GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   dial up via 56K modem (actual speed more like 2K)

In OS9 there was a file (I can't remember its name) which stored all the tracknames from CDs that had been opened, and it was possible to port this file to a new computer to save it having to look up all your CD tracks again.
Does anyone know where this file lives in OS X?

  • How do I change security encryption name on WiFi network so computer will stop kicking me off Internet?

My Internet provider, Verizon, recently had me update my router to WPA2 encryption.  It was previously WEP.  Now, each time my computer goes to sleep it drops off the Internet and when I click on the Network icon on the top menu bar it asks again which network.  I select it and then a box pops up that says this was previously a WEP network and not a WPA2 - do I want to join.  I click "join" and then get on the Internet, but it is very annoying to keep doing this over and over.  I went into the settings menu for "Network" and tried a number of things to change the network security designation to WPA2 w/o success.  I also tried deleting the current network, restarting my computer and reselecting a network, but that didn't work either.  Verizon walked me through their methods to correct this and it didn't work.  The problem seems to be my computer has not recognized the change.  How can I fix the change to my router?  It seems as though it should be simple, but I can't find it.  I have OSX 10.9.5, Memory 4 GB and Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.  Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Thank you Eric.  This seems to have solved the problem.  Now the only network that shows is my WiFi with the new encryption name.  I appreciate your  help.

  • Something kicks me off the internet

If I plug the printer (HP Deskjet D2545) into the computer, the computer says there arn't any networks available.  I am on a wireless Comcast  connection.  No problem if I do not connect the printer cable into the USB port.  As soon as I plug in and print anything the computer kicks me off the internet and gives me the no networks available message.  We winter in FLA and we didn't have any problem at all with Bright House (Time Warner).  Left it plugged in the entire 3 months and no problem at all.

I have the same problem every once in a while, but when I'm playing xbox online and my wife fires up her notebook, or when someone calls me and I pick up on a curdles 2.4 gig. phone. For a while the problem was the notebook was grabbing the IP address of by xbox, I had my wife turn down the power of her output signal and that helped.

  • Macbook Pro 10.6.8 - why am I kicked off internet (wired and wifi) every 5-10 mins? All was fine before.

Macbook Pro 10.6.8, 2 Ghz intel core i7 - --- Why am I kicked off internet (wired and wifi) every five-ten minutes?
All was working fine last time I was using this same wireless and cable... about two weeks ago. Solution is the restart constantly. Or to use System Preferences and do "diagnostics" and somehow – sometimes – that reestablishes the connection.
Is there some  kind of hard reset I should do?
Thank you in advance for any advice!

  • My macbook pro kicks me off the internet to the home screen randomly, how do i fix this?

While I am on the internet mostly, my macbook will kick me off the internet to the homescreen. While I am watching a movie or surfing the web without a pattern it will move to the homescreen while the movie still plays for example.

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above. Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough. It is never necessary or helpful to post more than about 100 lines. "The more, the better" is not the rule here.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • Internet keeps randomly kicking me off

How do I fix my internet connection? It keeps kicking me off every 2-3 seconds!

Has this been happening for a while or did it just start happening ?
Who is your Internet Service Provider ?
Do you have a Modem and a Router ?
Or is your Modem and Router combined into the same unit ?
Are you using Wireless Connection or Ethernet ?
Which Operating System are you currently using on your MacBook Pro ?

  • Windows XP in Boot Camp kicking me off wireless internet

I use Windows to work sometimes. It could be an hour into working or 1/2 the day and the wireless connection kicks me off. Says it can't find a network. How can I fix this problem?

OS X and XP handle passwords a little differently. When OS X asks you for your WEP/WPA password you just enter it it and it automatically converts it to the appropriate hex equiv. encryption key in the background. XP does not do this. You have to enter in the encryption key manually.
If you go to whatever software you used to set up your wireless network on your Mac you will see an entry that show this key. If you are using an Airport basestation you can go to the Airport Admin Utility and click on the "password" button at the top and it will disclose your WEP/WPA key.
If you go back to Windows and go to the networking control panel you'll see your wireless network if you click on it it will ask for your WEP/WPA key. Just enter the key there and you'll be good to go.
I would not work with an open network, even though WEP/WPA is far from iron clad security. Also keep in mind that WPA is stronger, but also less compatible with certain set ups (like if you have a range extender).

  • My iphone wont let me recieve yahoo mail, tried switching off phone, taking account off and on cant get server button to move says on but is pale so cant move on or off!!!!

iphone wont let me recieve yahoo mail, tried switching off phone, taking account off and on. did a restore on my phone the yahoo server says on but it is pale so you cant switch off or on.  my phone will recieve bt mail and internet not affected.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hello there stidhambr15,
I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.

Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

  • HT1766 Why can't I restore from my icloud after my phone kept shutting off due to panic lists?

Why can't I restore from my iclould after my phone kept shutting off due to panic lists?

Oh, that. Yeah, I've done it when I got the printer. Thanks. But the ePrint is not the same as the Wireless printing. Firstly, I have to go through the hassle of sending an email and secondly, when I email the document to the printer, it takes 2 pages to print it out, whereas the Wireless only takes 1 page. So it's not only about saving the time, but also the paper and the colour.
This is driving me crazy. I am pretty sure that all the features've been set properly. The printer is connected to the same internet (Magnet****) as my i-phone and the computer. (Just with a little difference - the computer is connected to the internet router by a wire, the printer is connected wirelessly.) Both the lights on the front of the printer (Wireless, ePrint) are on continuously. The printer accepts all the printing jobs from my computer as well as all the ePrint jobs. Only my i-phone keeps telling me that there've been No AirPrint Printers Found. Even though it has worked. I really can't think of anything to fix it. Can you? Please?
    Thank you, Georgina.

  • Turn Off Internet

I am looking for an app or even settings that will turn off Internet access except via Wi-Fi .
Finding even if i am connected via Wi-Fi some applications ask for Internet access and saying Yes presuming they are going to use the Wi Fi connection  they then proceed to connect via  network providers internet charged connection .
Simple Internet via Network OFF .
Network Internet connection required then i have to actually switch it on .
      jjegan

There probably is not. +Settings > General > Network > Enable 3G > Off+ will just turn off 3G - meaning the phone will use EDGE or GPRS instead of the faster network, but it will still use data. Not sure that you can delete the Cellular Data Network settings, either, as those are not accessible on a locked phone like mine. call your carrier and have them deactivate your data plan. But that defeats one of the main reasons for having an iPhone, IMO.

  • My iMessage has been sketchy lately. One text it will say my iMessage was delivered the next it won't and I have to send it as a text message. I keep turning my phone on and off and turning iMessage on and off but nothing works. How do I fix this?

My imessage has been sketchy lately. One text it will say my iMessage has been delivered the next I have to send it as a text message. I've tried turning my phone on and off and turning iMessage on and off repeatedly. How do i fix this problem?

It takes two to tango, maybe it's your recipient that has weak Internet/Cellular connections.

  • It's kicking me off

My Airport Extreme just recently started kicking me off line. It will run fine for about an hour then I have no access to the internet. My signal is still strong, however. I'll just go to the admin utility and restart it and it works perfectly then kicks me off later on. What's wrong? I have reset it and set it back up so many times. Help me out...
    PowerBook G4 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I have the same problem. I'm using the snow base station. I have the same base station at work which I used to have at home. It NEVER stops working at work. It stops working at home all the time. The signal in the menu bar stays the same.
I'm convinced it is a combination of some sort of interference in my home and certain types of network activity. Like I a few weeks ago I would be surfing in Safari and all was well. Then decided to check out some pages in OmniWeb and OmniWeb would make the internet stop working EVERY time. There was something wrong with OmniWeb as I trashed it's prefs cause it wouldn't quit unless I force quitted and started up again and all was well.
Another thing that makes my internet not work is to boot over to Windows XP on my Intel Mini and surf with Safari. Stops my network surfing every time.
Another that makes it stop working is I have a folder of sites marked as top 7 sites and set in my Safari bookmarks bar and is a one click bookmark that opens seven sites automatically. Stops my network every time.
What I don't know is if this happens with a non Apple wireless router.
