Photo Downloader and Kodak Easy Share Gallery - PAS3
Question 1. For some reason Adobe Photo Downloader has decided to place itself into my systray. I can disable it. I can not remove it. I do not seem to be able to find any option or preference to disallow it from launching. While I have a digitral camera, I use the download from the maker. I like it quite a bit. I am less pleased when my systray gets filled with things I don't want. Any guidance?
Question 2. When I want to share an image online, a new screen invites me to use Kodak's Easy Share Gallery. I use Kodak ESG, so why do I need PASE 3?
When I tried to e-mail an image, I thought it would launch my e-mail composition window with the attachment in place. It only gives me the path where I can find the image. It appears that I still have to open the e-mail program, and create the attachment link. I must be doing something wrong, Adobe usually does not make me walk around the block to complete a task.
Guidance?
Thanks
k

To solve this, try the following:
- Select Preferences option from Edit Menu
- Select Email in the left pane in Preferences Window
If my assumption is correct, the option "Other (Save to Disk)" will be selected in the "Send Email Using" list.
- Select your email client from the "Send Email Using" drop down list.
- Click OK and restart the application
Let us know how it goes.

Elements 11 and Kodak easy share software & photo retouch questions
I have kodak easyshare on my pc. That's where i store all my photos. Can I use Elements 11 without interfereing with my kodak software ? I like to transfere my photos from my digital camera right to my kodak softwear. Can I still keep doing that and only transfere the ones I want to correct onto elements 11 ?. Will elements 11 take away oily skin from photos and make them look fresh and non oily ? I like the glamour shot look without everyone having an oily face. Thanks.
Photoshop Elements(PSE) comes as a bundle of two softwares. Elememts organizer (EO) is used for organizing your photos and managing them while PSE Editor is used for editing them. You can edit your photos in Editor without using Ogranizer. All you have to do is to launch PSE Editor and go to File >open and then browse to your photos to open them in Editor.
Removing oily skin is a bit of tidy work and with a simple google search you can find serveral ways of doing it in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Most of the tutorials are written for Photoshop but they work fine for Photoshop Elements too.
You can follow following posts too to check if they work for you

I downloaded 1100 photos from Kodak Easy Share to the Iphoto library. Now when I open
If Larry's suggestion re iPLM doesn't help there's always the last ditch effort solution:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired. -
Iphoto cannot open kodak easy share photos. Kodak no longer offers software download
I have old geneology photos that were emailed to me using Kodak Easy Share. They used to be easy to open on the Easy Share website with my Windows system. I now have a MacBook Pro, and Kodak has discontinued offering a downloadable program to open these pics. When I try to open the photos, there is a tiny questionmark instead of the image.
I can't bear the thought that these photos are gone, as I spent enormous time and effort researching the subjects.
Also, my Iphoto program says I need to upgrade my photo library, but also the library won't be readable by older Iphoto programs. ,What about other photo programs (i.e. Photo shop or free photo software).
Obviously, I am a newbie, and trying hard to adjust to the Apple system and would appreciate any help.Try open those photos with Graphic Coverter - it'll open most everything. When you do save them as Jpeg or Tiff as these are open formats and universally understood.
The Upgrade message is exactly what it says: It upgrades the library to work with the new version of iPhoto. It does nothing to the photographs, it has no implications for Photoshop or any other software.

There's a long standing issue with Kodaks and OS X. Workatound: use a USB Card Reader.

I'm not really a computer guy. I just got a Kodak"easy share" camera. When I import the photos they go to the section with my name in a folder. How do I get them from there to iphoto, or better yet, how can i import them directly to iphoto?? As stated, I'm not knowledgable, have an imac and need real rudimentary direction.
in the iPhoto preferences be sure the action when camera is connected is open iPhoto
What program are you using to import the photos?
If they are in a folder you can drag that folder onto the iPhoto icon in the dock to import - our launch iPhoto and under the file menu import from that folder
For real rudimentary directions try the iPhoto tutorials - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration. for the concepts - actual commands mya have shanged in some cases - and under the iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto help - watch the videos there

Is adobe elements comparable to Kodak Easy Share[was: help]
Is adobe elements comparable to Kodak Easy Share to download from dig. cam. crop and place in windows7 my pics. file?
Unfortunately that's not a crash log and I'm afraid I can't help interpret that.
Best to tell us what you're trying to do, including a description of the Easy Share software. Is this a plug-in? Has it been updated for 10.6? How are you exporting "to it"? I can't think of anywhere iPhoto exports to apart from the Finder and the named services: Flickr, Facebook etc. and iDVD.

Upload to kodak easy share on pc?
Can I upload photos on my iphone to my pc with my existing kodak easy share program? Thank's j. greig
the easiest way to get pictures from the iphone on a pc is to connect the iphone to the computer and open my computer. Under the camera and scanners section the iphone should show. Open the iphone camera then you will see all the photos taken with the iphone. You can copy and paste( or drag and drop) from here to any folder you wish.
Hope this helps. -

Best to tell us what you're trying to do, including a description of the Easy Share software. Is this a plug-in? Has it been updated for 10.6? How are you exporting "to it"? I can't think of anywhere iPhoto exports to apart from the Finder and the named services: Flickr, Facebook etc. and iDVD.

Ever since I updated my old iPhone 3G to the new OS4, it crashed Adobe Bridge's Photo Downloader, and I don't like to use iPhoto, so I won't. I haven't for years. I just bought the iPhone 4 fully expecting that the non-Apple photo utilities would get pictures off the camera, but no dice. The iPhone 4 crashes dobe Bridge's Photo Downloader too. I HATE using iPhoto for offloading. I wonder when Apple will deal with this.
2 days ago I had my iPhone G3S with OS 4.02 attached by usb cord to load on songs from iTunes which was open. I opened up Bridge to offload photos from the iPhone. My computer froze and I had to force quit it with the off/start button. Since then even though I have completely uninstalled and then reinstalled the Adobe CS4 suite, Bridge still refuses to open and crashes every time. I reported the problem to Apple. I think this problem is not isolated and a bit more serious than first thought.
I hate the idea of reinstalling every thing and still not solving the problem. -
I installed Kodak Easy Share on my Mac Book. It did not work properly so i tried to uninstall it. It will not uninstall. When I try to launch it I get a message 'the application quit unexpectedly' with a relaunch button. When I relaunch I just keep getting the same message. The problem has now spread to other applications.
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Kodak Easy Share does not play well with Macs, Everyone I've known with it has had problems. They should have documentation on their website but I don't see it...
You could just the app to the trash (but I'm not sure where any associated files may be. Or use
AppCleaner

What lens can I used with a kodak easy share Z650 for better picture quality?
I have the 45.5mm to 55mm adapter
If there is not a lens, then what is the purpose of the adapter?
Thank Youwl915 wrote:

I believe the adapter is to allow the following attachments to be used with your camera:
1) Telephoto lens adapters
2) Wide-angle lens adapters
3) Various photographic filters, such as polarizing filters (often used to reduce reflections off of metal or deepen the blue color of the sky in certain situations)

Computer will not always import photos from kodak easy share?
My macbook pro does not always import photos from the kodak easysgare camera, any suggestions?
I found a solution in a couple of other threads. The main problem is when you start iPhoto from the dock, the unix process is owned by root, and not as it should be, by you. If you start iPhoto from the Terminal by entering /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/MacOS/iPhoto, iPhoto is able to import the images.
I don't believe that starting the applications from Terminal is a good solution, so I looked for another - reinstalling Leopard seems to be the best option, and it actually works. I can now import images to iPhoto again.
