Photo sync: Is there a limit?

I've been trying to sync photos from a folder on my Windows computer for about two hours now. I've updated both the iPad and the iTunes to their latest version. I have 339 photos in this album, and only about 50-100 of them sync. I can't get all 339. I've even tried splitting them up into multiple folders - nothing works. Is there something I should be doing for all of them to sync? Or is there another way I could go about trying to sync them?

Did you find a solution to this?  I have a folder of about 3.6Gb containing 2754 photos and have never had issues in the past synching.  When I tried to synch last night, I got a message that "27 items could not be synched.  See iTunes for more information."  I looked all over itunes but could not find any error message.  There was one specific picture I was looking for to upload which has not shown up and no matter how many syncs I tried it never did.  To try to resolve this, I picked a new folder with only 6 pictures in it and re-synced.  As expected, it eliminated my library of 2700+ pictures in favour of the 6 I have now told it to sync.  I cleared the 'ipod photo cache folder' and then re-set itunes to sync this folder.  It synced the folder again, however this time synced 1600 pictures and now I have a message '1154 items could not be synced.  See iTunes for more information.'  Again, iTunes has no more information.
I have an iPhone 3GS but this is the first time I've had sync problems.

  • Podcasts - less than half will sync - is there a limit?

    Hi
I've searched and found similar questions in this discussion, but found no solution. Only 142 of my Mac's 375 podcasts will sync to the iPod Classic 80G. HD is roughly half full. I tried resetting the iPod and I tried syncing with Podcast sync set to None and then again with it set to sync All Episodes of All Podcasts. No change in which podcasts will sync.
Any idea where I should look next?

    HI Jerry,
Have you tried using Disk Utility to verify whether or not there are any corrupted files on your iPod? You will need your Mac restore disk.
Shut down your Mac. While holding down the C key, press the power button and insert your restore disk, keep holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo. You will be prompted for a language selection, select English. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Disk Utility. In the DU window, select your iPod in the panel on the left, then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. When it's finished, Quit Disk Utility. From the Menu Bar click Utilities/Startup Disk. When the next window opens, click MactinoshHD 10.5.x and click restart.
Try deleting this file also: com.apple.DotMacSync.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. From the Preferences folder, drag that file to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you.

  • Photo sync limit

Is there a photo sync limit? It repeatedly says that there is not enough room, but I know for a fact that there is? I tried to sync multiple times with the same results. Last time I tried, I synced nothing but the pics. The same result happened. I have the 32GB 2nd gen. ipod touch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Is there a limit to number of devices you can simultaneously sync to one itunes account?

Is there a limit (set by itunes or elsewhere) to the number of devices you can simultaneously sync to one itunes account/PC/Mac? Using USB hubs or other sync/charge devices?

iTunes can only sync one device at a time.
There is no limit to the number of devices you can sync consecutively with the same library.
Each device can hold protected content from up to five accounts.
Up to 10 computers and iOS devices can be authorised for automatic downloads of an Apple IDs available purchases (some items may only be downloaded once).
Up to five computers can be authorised to each Apple ID at any one time.

  • Why can I no longer add photos my iPhoto book? Is there a limit to the number of photos? Must I delete unused photos??

Why can I no longer add photos my iPhoto book? Is there a limit to the number of photos? Must I delete unused photos?

This is book # 13 and I've not encountered this problem before. I am dragging photos into the sourse pane but they are not imported. I have other books w/ over 700  pics (not all used) but this has only 300+ so far. I've copied the book to a pdf and it looks as if I'll have to redo it unless there's another solution.

  • New Photos Don't Show On My Apple TV -- Is There a limit? An "Update" button? ...?

I have my Apple TV 2nd gen set so that after two minutes is shows photos from my computer as screensaver.
I have an album in iPhoto where I drag the photos I want and I've told the Apple TV to pick up those photos.  Has always worked fine.
Recently I added some pictures to that album but they don't show on the Apple TV -- just the previous photos are on display.  Is there a limit?  There are 94 photos in that album.  Have I forgotten some sort of "update" button? ...
All the settings both on the Apple TV and my iTunes look fine and I recently ran whatever update Apple wanted me to (I had this photo hiccup both before and after that upgrade so that ain't it).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Possible iTunes issue:
Try the following after adding photos.
    Go to file
    Then Home Sharing
    Select photos to share
Click on All Photos already selected Do anyway
When Apply turns black click on Apply
Now go to Apple TV to see if photos there
    Or restart iTunes.
Works for me every time photos do not appear on my Apple TV 3
    Hopefully will work for you.

  • Is there a limit to the number of photos added to iMovie?

I am trying to add more photo stills to a project but iMovie will not add more than the 495 I have in there. I know it is an enormous amount of still photos but in they are short in duration and I'd like to add about 130 more to complete this project. Any photos past this mark are simply being rejected/not added by the program no matter how many times I try to drag them over even one at a time. Is there a limit? Can I overcome this some how?

I would recommend that you put the photos that you need in order in an iPhoto album.
326 should be no problem. I have done that many or more.
To drag them into iMovie, open the Photo Browser in iMovie and look for the album. There should be an icon for the album. Drag the icon for the album into your iMovie Project. (rather than dragging the photos one at a time).
Since you are having sluggish behavior, I would recommend that you shut down iMovie, restart your Mac, and start over with a new project, unless you have too much work invested, in which case, try the old project first.
Here is a sample of a project where I dragged about 300 photos into a project from an iPhoto album.

  • Is there a limit to number of photos?

I am working on a page of bird photos. After adding 9 images the next ones are all below the blue line. I can not make it bigger (the area defined by the blue box). Also, the individual images above the blue line when clicked on have a blue box around them. The images below only show the box with handles formed by the gray lines with the squares. No room for text etc. Is there a limit to how many photos fit on a page? I have like hundreds.

If you post the URL we can take a look at it and maybe come up with a solution for you. In the meantime, create another photo page in iWeb and drag the photos you want into the blue box area of the canvas.

  • I have 5,000 photos on my Ipad and it locks up when I am in photo mode and try to do a slideshow.  Is there a fix for that or is there a limit on

I have a I-Pad which I use to upload my photos whil traveling.  I was recently gone for 40 days and ended up with over 5,000 photos.  When I am in Events mode, slideshow works fine.  But when I switch to Photo mode or view and try to do a slideshow, it locks up and I have a black screen.  My question is 2 fold.  1.  Is there a limit to the # of photos that the slideshow will accomodate?  2.  If not, is there a fix for the slideshow not working?
    Thanks

    Two possibiilities here:
    1. Your start up disk is nearly full
    Or
    2. You have minor damage to the iPhoto Library and it's giving you a bogus message.
But here's the thing: A full start up disk is a very serious issue and needs to be dealt with fast.
So, how big is your Hard Disk? How much free space on it?

  • Is there a limit to the  number of photos I can include in a PSE 12 slide show?

I recently took a trip to Ireland and...being the camera addict that I am ...took right at 3000 pictures.
Obviously -- I don't want to include all of them,  but I do have several hundred that I would like to put into a slide show.   Is there a limit to the number of photos I can use?
Also,  I notice that there's an option for adding a narration.    I'm  new to "12",   so ....  how do I go about this?
Hope you can point me in the right direction.
    Thanks so much,

I just discovered that I have the trial version of Adobe Premier.   I've
been playing around with it a little bit and NOW I wonder if it might not
be the perfect program for me to use to create my Ireland travelogue.   I'm
about to the point of thinking that the investment in the program &
upgrading to the "real" thing will be worth the money.
NOW...should I do this,  is it going to be better to leave the photos in
their current size  (just a step below RAW)   or resize them down to the
size used in email?    That being said --- what is going to be best for
putting on a DVD to share with friends & family.   Looks like AT LEAST 1000
    photos.

I have 15000 photos in my 1Phooto library in 58 events. I have also made 27 slide shows from some of these events. When opening iPhoto, the photoscome up slmost instantly but the side bar seems to take forever to come up.  Is there s limit to the amount of photos yu can have or to the amount if items in the side bar?

Try this basic troubleshooting technique:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
    3 - reboot
4 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Is there any way whatsoever to delete photos synced from iTunes?

This is something that constently frustrates me and I've never found a solution for it. I can delete music, videos, apps, etc etc etc from the phone to reclaim storage space, but is there no way in **** to delete photos synced through iTunes? It's bothered me before in the past, so I stopped syncing albums to my phone, but recently I had synced my albums of photos from my wedding to my iPhone so that I could show some family and didn't realize how much space it was going to take up. The entire weekend I could not remove them to download apps, music, videos or anything.
Is there any way at all to remove them? Via iFunbox,  or some sort of "reset" option in Settings, or any other means?

What you ask is pretty basic. Uncheck the Sync Photos from option in iTunes and click Apply
Assuming your device is not modified/hacked/jailbroken in any way/shape/form

  • When archiving emails in airplane mode, is there a limit on how many will sync when back online?

When using an iPad in airplane mode and going through your inbox archiving mail, is there limit on how many emails you can move before it will not sync back to the exchange server?
In this case I have two iPads, both syncing with an office 365 server. I synced 3 emails on one iPad in airplane mode and this was fine. However, the other iPad had synced over 80 emails. The second iPad did not sync any of the changes once reconnected to the network.
Is there a limit on how many will sync when back online? Or is something else the cause of this problem?

I don't aware of such an limitation on Outlook side.
The only limits that I know is that your mail service provider might restrict the number of messages sent per hour/day and the number of recipients per message.
