Photoshop CC stuck at "Waiting-" on Mac unless using default user account

Hello,
I consistently have this problem installing Photoshop CC 2014 and any of its updates from the Creative Cloud: the file downloads normally, then gets stuck in "Waiting…" indefinitely. Restarting the computer, restarting the Creative Cloud app, etc have no effect – always the same result. With some effort I managed to solve this issue by logging using the first-created user account (uid 501) on my Mac. This account can complete the installation without a problem. However, since it is not the account I normally use, it is extremely inconvenient, and smells like a bug in the installation process.
This has happened to me consistently for as long as I've been a Creative Cloud member (a year now), but I haven't posted about it earlier since I thought it might be something to do with how my computer was set up. But I recently got a new Mac and the same problem appeared again even though the computer was just installed from scratch. Again: the first user account created on the Mac can install Photoshop CC without problems, but if a new local user account is created on the same computer (even if Creative Cloud has not been previously installed on a different account) that account is unable to install Photoshop CC.
Now, the installer does ask for an administrator password, but installation still fails even if I give the user id and password of the first account. Similarly if the second account has admin privileges and I give its password, installation still fails, i.e., the only way to install successfully is to log in as the first user account.

I've got kind of a same problem. Photoshop CC 2014 update stuck at Waiting.. forever.
just tried and here's the log:

  • How do I enable Find My Mac from a Standard User Account

    Hi there,
I'm trying to enable Find My Mac from a Standard User account via System Preferences > iCloud, but it says Administrator authorization is required. However, there is no padlock like other System Preferences panes have to enable Administrator access.
If I log into the Administrator user, it doesn't have iCloud set up.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Yes, Its registered. clcking on icloud shows Icloud is unticked and no option to enable it as its greyed out. That is the part I am trying to overcome. Also It shows "recovery system update required" just below find my mac and an update button next to that. When I then click on update, it says system up to date. I have been told this issue could be attributed to Filevault. I disabled Filevault (after 5 hours of waiting), Doing so now meant I was able to enable guest user on this machine. but that  means my data is not encrypted and the option to enable find my mac still not available.
I am in the process of re-enabling filevault. Another 4 hours to go. So as you can see, I am really stuck.

Do I need to be online to access my desktop apps?
No, the desktop applications in Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, are installed directly on your computer, so you don’t need an ongoing Internet connection to use them.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode.

  • Trouble with CS2 on Mac G5 with new user accounts - activation issues?

My system is a Mac G5 Quad running OS 10.5.8, and I have the CS2 premium suite. When I bought the machine I did everything under one user account. Several months ago the account started giving me a few problems, and my circumstances changed, so it made sense to create new, separate user accounts on my Mac for work and personal use.
Recently I offered to help a friend out with some design work and tried to start InDesign CS2 from my new business account. I was immediately presented with a demand for a serial number. I looked it up and entered it. An error popped up that said
    "Invalid Serial Number
The serial number you provided is not valid.
Please check your serial number and re-enter it."
I tried a couple more times, making sure I had it right. No success.
I gave up and launched my original user account, launched InDesign and started the project. I set the document up and tried to save it. InDesign displayed an error stating  "Cannot save "Untitled-1" under a new name. The file "DBTmp[bunch of numbers]" is damaged (error code:0"  Each time I relaunched and tried again the temp filename was different.
So now I suddenly am without one of my primary tools and have no idea how to get it back. I am guessing this is a problem with the activation mechanism, but can't find many resources on this topic. It would appear that my attempt to launch InDesign from my new account triggered a piracy protection code or something.
I am typing this while waiting on hold for Adobe support. 25 minutes and counting...
    Thanks.
    Paul

    Bob, Thank you so much!
I already have Acrobat 8.2.4, so I didn't start installing 8.2.2. However, I started working through solution 2 and discovered my new business user account was denied access to /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/TypeSpt/Unicode/Mappings/.  I changed the permissions on that directory to give my account read access, and InDesign fired up like normal. I didn't even need to replace the files.
    Thanks again for the assistance.
It's interesting to learn CS2 is not supported in my OS version. It works fine (until this).

  • 24' cinema display stuck in 640 X 480 - unless used in Apple Store!

I really need some help with my new MBP and 24" LED cinema display that is driving me crazy. The first part of the problem is that when I bring my MBP out of sleep and attach the monitor, or if I simply disconnect the monitor and reconnect it without sleeping, it only shows 640X480 and no options for other display settings.
I have tried a great many things and suggestions, including deleting the com.apple.windowserver.plist files (system and byhost versions), repairing the permissions, resetting the pram. Nothing makes any difference to this behaviour.
The second part of the problem is that having decided it was the monitor itself I took both the display and the MBP back to the apple store today where it worked faultlessly - no amount of rebooting, sleeping and attaching/detaching would make the error occur. Once we gave and I got them both home again - it reverted to the previous, faulty behaviour! We wondered in the store if it was a faulty cable - but no amount of wriggling of the cable makes any difference.
When The display is correct, the system profiler shows:
    LED Cinema Display:
    Resolution: 1920 x 1200
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Core Image: Software
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
    Connection Type: DisplayPort
When the display goes to its 640 X 480 mode, the system profiler shows:
    Display:
    Resolution: 640 x 480
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Core Image: Hardware Accelerated
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Supported
    Rotation: Supported
    Connection Type: DisplayPort
I found a few things relating to issues with recognition of monitors when coming out of sleep - but this monitor was made specifically for this MBP, and others don't seem to be having this problem. My MBP also works fine with my DELL flatscreen display at a high resolution.
Anyone got any idea what else I can change before I have to completely rebuild my MBP. I am really confused by this - why would it insist on working in the Apple Store and refuse to work correctly at home?

First off, the power cable is not permanently attached to the monitor. It is a 3-pronged, grounded connector at the monitor end. I know because I just disconnected mine and freed up the entire cable. Since I'm one of those who just does stuff even when it may not always be well-advised, I can report on an experience that could bear on your situation.
I had my Mac Pro running when I reached around the back of my 24" LED display and pulled the plug from the monitor. Of course, the monitor instantly went "black". I quickly replugged it back in (no, I didn't shut anything down and risked frying the monitor). When the monitor returned to life it was "stuck" in 640 x 480 mode and I could only "restart" or "shut down" to get it restored to the 1920 x 1200 mode I keep it in.
This suggests to me that the problem lies in your cabling and power delivery system. Perhaps you are getting power surges or power spikes that have the equivalent effect of taking your monitor "off" and then returning the monitor to a 640 x 480 condition after restoring power.
If it were me, I'd try with a new monitor cable to power. I'm betting your problem doesn't have anything to do with the monitor to computer cable, but it isn't the only cable here. Something is disrupting the constant power feed and I'm betting the problem is amplified by faulty power cord. Since I just replicated your situation by literally pulling the plug and replugging it in, it seems to me that this would be a fruitful area of investigation.
Hope this leads you somewhere positive.

  • Premiere super sluggish unless I use other User account

Today Pr started being super sluggish ... timeline zoom in / zoom out took 1-2 seconds per action ... loading clips slow  ... etc.
So I tried logging out and logging in as another user, and then it worked fine.
My question is ... I don't want to set up a whole new account ... how do I repair / reset my main account's settings?
The only thing I cannot afford to lose is my keyboard mapping.
Should I just delete the "~/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro" folder? Is that enough?
Then just put back a copy of "~/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0/Profile.../Mac/Adobe Premiere Pro Custom.kys" ?
    Mac 10.9.1

That seems like a good plan, but make a copy of that folder just in case.  And you may be able to accomplish the same thing by holding down the Shift and Opt keys when you launch Pr.  If you hold down those keys when you start Pr from the desktop/dock/application folder, Shift will clear your plugin cache and Opt will reset your preferences.  Make sure you have competely exited Pr before trying this.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • Mac computer  with 2 user accounts but sharing one Itunes account

My wife and daughter are sharing one computer and each likes having their own account on the computer. I've figured out how to let them share songs between their libraries by placing the library in a public folder.
The problem is my wife's account will let her down load new songs with out trouble but my daughter can not down load new songs. Does Itunes consider each account on the same PC as a new computer ? Meaning do I have to "authorize" my daughter's Itunes even though I've already done that in my wife's Itunes account for the shared computer ?
    Thanks
    Mike

In a way, each iTunes libary is considered to be a different account. Your daughter's iTunes account doesn't have access to your wife's data which has all the verification data.
One option would not only to place the library in a Shared area, but also the verification data. I poked around and am not sure where it's stored. It's a good discussion to have with an Apple store Genius if you have one nearby.

  • Is there another way to copy my iTunes library from a windows pc to my mac than using migration assistant

when i use migration assistant to transfer my iTunes music it creates a new and separate user account which is annoying but even worse when i attempt to play songs iTunes states that it can't locate file???

    vincentoftroy wrote:

See this -> Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support
"If two user accounts have the same name
If your new Mac already has a user account with the same name as one you're trying to transfer, Migration Assistant lets you decide what to do. You can either replace the existing user on your new Mac, or give the user you're migrating a new account name.
Selecting the option to replace an existing user overwrites that user's Home folder on your new Mac. This can be convenient if you just set up your new Mac using the same account name and of your important data is still on your original Mac. Don't select the option to replace the existing user unless you're certain you don't have any important files stored in this user's Home folder on your new Mac."
I create an new account named Admin, then log into this account to run Migration Assistant.

  • Photoshop and Bridge occasionally freeze in original user account

Thank you for the update Pietrogpazzi.  Are you only experiencing difficulties with Adobe Bridge and Photoshop in the original user account?

Branching this to a new discussion.  Pietrogpazzi is experiencing difficulties when closing Photoshop CS6 and Bridge and it freezing in his original user account.  When creating a new user account on Mac OS 10.8 Photoshop and Bridge appear to be behaving normally.

  • Problems associating device to Apple ID/user account on my mac

    Hiya,
I'm trying to help a friend out by backing up her devices (iPad and iPhone) to my computer so I can update the OS on both.
I had previously sync'd her iPad to my iTunes to back it up, but I then figured afterward it'd be better to create a new user account for her on my computer and sync everything that way, just to ensure that everything is in its right place. The problem that I've come up with is that the iTunes on her user account on my computer doesn't show her device. When I tried to deactivate the device on my user account on the computer, it talked about wiping the iPad which I absolutely do not want to do until I'm assured that it's all backed up first to her user account on my computer. She's had a friend previously who tried to back up her devices and lost everything, so I'm being extra careful to not fall down that path.
I looked at other posts on the Apple support website — stuff about deactivating devices/accounts and all that — but they didn't mention anything about separate accounts on the same computer. I looked at my iTunes Store > Account > Manage Devices and it doesn't list her device, so I'm not sure why it's not letting me disassociate her iPad from my iTunes with the wiping condition. I figured it'd be something to do with sharing a device on multiple Apple IDs, but as far as I'm aware, I've only authorised my computer (or perhaps my Apple ID) permission to sync her device's contents to iTunes. I had hoped that a new user account would get around this as I'm now using her user account with her Apple ID, however no dice. The other annoyance is that she has no music, TV, movies, or books purchased on her Apple ID, only a few apps.
So now I've some how gotten to the point in which I have "transferred" her iPad to iTunes on her user account/Apple ID on my computer and it's got some 90-day timer thing — I have no idea what the **** that's there for since it hasn't been linked to my Apple ID (that I know of), just only authorised on my account/computer.
It's quite confusing and rather daunting. I feel I'm faced with a precarious situation: wipe her iPad and hope that the back-up on my account's iTunes will work correctly; or wait 90 days (why?) to then be able to properly sync her iPad to my computer, by that time I will have left France and can't help her then.
If anyone could please shed some light on my dark position, I would be rather grateful!

It might be too late in terms of time and what has happened with the 90 day lockout problem, but you should be able to create another user account for her on your computer so she can have her own iTunes library. This provide some insight as to how you can do that.
How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer
The 90 day lockout occurs when you associate an iOS device with another Apple ID when you download a past purchase using the second ID. This is Apple's way of preventing users's from downloading each other's paid content for free. There is absolutely no way to overcome the 90 day lockout. You just have to wait it out before the device can be associated with another Apple ID.
This is a great user tip that explains how to transfer the contents of an iOS device into a new iTunes library to create a new syncing library for a user. It might prove to be helpful to you.

  • Can two user accounts of one computer use two different Mac ID accounts?  I'd like to keep separate accounts for movies, music etc.

I have a Mac Air running 10.8.5, with two users on it.  I'd like to keep separate Apple store accounts accounts for the two users, as we have separate music, movies, books etc.  To date, we've had separate computers, but now will share the one computer.  But when the second account is signed in and we try to sign in to the I-tunes store, or authorise the computer with the second account, the response is "the I-Tunes store is not available" or "we cannot fulfil your request at this time".  Togetherness is nice, but I'd prefer to have some privacy.

    Hi Harrike2000,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an iTunes Store connection issue in one of the user accounts on your MacBook Air, and you want to know if the issue is related to using multiple Apple IDs or user accounts.
You can use multiple user accounts and Apple IDs with one computer, see this article for more information:

    Troubleshoot issues on a Mac
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.

  • How to copy a user account from one Mac to another

If I have a main user (admin) account on one Mac, and want to copy its Home Folder over to another Mac that already has user accounts on it, what is the best way to do it?
For example, if I boot the source Mac in Target Disk Mode then connect it to the other Mac, can I just drag and drop from its Users folder into the Users folder on the other Mac? And would that then appear in SysPref/Accounts, complete with names and passwords etc, or is it not that simple?
(Actually, I just checked by launching Migration Assistant, and it seems to indicate I can use it to copy User Accounts from a different Mac - is this all I need? How would I connect the two Macs for this to work?)

Slightly confusing, that article - it talks about using Migration Assistant in Lion or Mountain Lion, but in my case both computers have used Snow Leopard. Does it still apply?
(One other observation - don't you find it confusing the way Apple defines "Target Disk Mode"? It's pretty much always the case that a computer booted in this way becomes the Source computer, while the Target computer is the one it's connected to!!)
