Photoshop CS 6 wont open

Hi,
I use CS6, as of today PS wont launch, all of the other CS apps are fine. No administrator issues.
The only change I made that I am aware of is to delete two large PS temporary files that were stored on my disk.
I'm using WIN 7 64.

Noel, thanks for your answer. I checked the system info for any usage of igXXXXX.dll files (I suppose Intel GMA drivers), but found nothing. It is however showing me a list of used ati*...dll drivers from which i conclude PS is using my dedicated GPU.
Unfortunately I did not find any option to turn off the integrated graphics in my BIOS. I tried to increase the shared memory value (it was set to 32MB) to 1024MB and let PCIE be the primary GPU device. Still, those effects don't seem to have any effect on Photoshop.

Are you trying to open it from the Application Manager? Does Photoshop say Installed next to it?
Have you even looked for similar threads i.e. the two posted in the last few minutes?

That same thing happened to me. I have Windows 8, and I downloaded the Adobe Creative Cloud Download Center, then downloaded Photoshop through it. But then it didn't show up in the Start window, or anywhere else. Then I found it in the Program Files, but when I clicked on it it didn't do anything. But when I downloaded Illustrator the same way, it showed up in the Start menu and it worked.

Photoshop elements 12 wont open

I have the same problem with the full version (12.0) and installation yesterday (and today!!!). Downloaded the installationfiles with Akamai Download Manager. After installation, the shortcut wasn't linked to any executionfile in the installationfolder (e.g. Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe), so i get a warning to look for the exe-file by browsing my computer. Reboot computer and try to re-install by clicking the "setup" redirected me to "uninstall". While uninstalling i get the message " specified path is empty" and the program refers to the online adobe troubleshooter. I tried all the given possibilities mentioned there, deleting temp files, installing as administrator, adding Adobe Support Advisor .. even a "clean windows startup" didn't work.
The only way to let my setupprogram work again (no uninstall-screen this time), was to go into the register and delete all the keys and values from PSE 12 (which I wouldn't recommend for anone who doesn't have a clue of what their doing). To be on the safe side, I decided to install the "trial"-version. Downloaded the file from the Adobe website and believe it or not, this time giving me a fault message about "Shared Technologies"
Next try was to install the trial version of PSE 12. the idea was to install that first and activate it afterwards with the serial number given when i bought PSE 12. This time i get a fault-message about "Shared Technologies" and the installation was reversed ... otherwise said "NO GO" and no files installed.

My Photoshop Elements 11 wont open.

I tried to open it, but no matter how many times I try, it just wont open. It acts like I never input the command to open in the first place. Every once in a while, about 30 or so minutes after the attempt at opening it, I'll receive an error report that says the program is not responding. I've tried multiple times to uninstall and then re install, and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Photoshop Elements Installer Wont Open

Hey all,
I just downloaded the adobe photoshop elements trial. After it had finished downloading i double clicked the only file that downloaded to run it and it would not. In the properties window it says it is a "File" and nothing else. Also in the description it says "Adobe Extractor" but it wont run. When i try to it just asks me what program do i want to use to open it.
Help would be appreciated,

Nevermind it turned out to be a simple fix, i just added ".exe" to the end of the file name.

Photoshop CC 2014 wont open any files or create a new file

I can't open any files or create a new file no matter what I do. I've uninstalled Photoshop along with every Adobe application then reinstalled creative cloud and photoshop but that didn't work. I've tried moving the preferences to the desktop, didn't work. Does anyone have any answers? Even my IT guy can't figure it out. Please help. It's been like this for a few days now and I have a work assignment due...ahh!

Ive intalled the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 but when i go to open the program it says it cant find the shortcut. How do i open up the program now?

It depends greatly on which operating system you have installed on your computer. Are you using Windows or Mac OS? Also what version of the operating system do you have installed? Finally if you are using Windows do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit version installed?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I can't get it to run or open or anything. Sometimes there is a quick flash but usually it will not do anything

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4: On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.

Solution 5: If installed any third-party plugin remove it and try launching
Solution 6: Launch from exe directly with admin account. Navigate to this file c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe - right click and select run as administrator.

Photoshop 7.0 wont open

I have used Photoshop 7.0 for years and suddenly it won't open. I did read the previous post on this between Schlader Photography and John Joslin...but my problem seems to have its own quirk...my program wouldn't re-install. I tried everything they did and re-booted and it still won't re-install. Any ideas??? I am an at home graphic designer and really need this program working again! Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Betz

I use a laptop with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. I have reinstalled this program from the CD before and had no problem doing so...but something happened in the last few days and it just won't install. I click on the install button after the autoplay brings up the license agreement to accept and it just shuts down. I am way behind on client work, my mother passed away last week and I was scrambling to catch up but I know I used Photoshop on Saturday and then on Monday it would not open.

My photoshop and elements wont open! help!

So, my photoshop and elements have always worked fine, I am running elements 4 and photoshop 6 but now all of a sudden neither will open. I get the opening cicley thing then nothing...have no idea what is going on....anyone any ideas?? I really need both programmes so any advice is greatfully received! x

Hi Alec, Thanks for your super speedy reply! As far as I remember, this laptop came with most programmes already installed on it so I dont think I have any load up CDs or anything. Im guessing I would have to have a installation CD to reinstall later? If I did have them, there is a strong possibility that I have lost them....is there anything else I can do??
