PHP 5.3 screwed it all!

Hi!
I'd like to know how could I downgrade PHP and all of its relatives packages?
I already read http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Downgrade_packages and I found a 5.2.9 version of PHP but now php-apache so there's a lot of missing parts.
Is there anybody who ran into the same troubles?

PS: I can't change the non-working code since it's web apps such as wordpress and roundcube.

Can you take the back off of the iphone 4 to get to the battery, if so how, mine has no screws at all

i plugged my phone into itunes and my phone is in recovery mode, is ther a way i can just take the back off and take the battery out, i tried looking for videos on youtube but all the phones had screws on the outside where mine does not.

You cannot remove the iPhone battery. The screws are pentalobe screws which need a special screwdriver and they are located on the bottom of the iPhone on each side of the 30 pin connector port.
Disconnect the iPhone from the USB cable and press and hold the Home and Power buttons together until the Apple logo appears.

Itunes 7.0.1.8 screws up all my TV shows!!!

Prior to this latest itunes "upgrade," I had downloaded many TV shows and I'd never had a problem. Now with the latest itunes both old and new videos skip, hesitate and the sound is out of sync with the actors lips. The worst example is the episode called Uncle from Law & Order:SVU which I was foolish enough to just purchase. This is so screwed up it's unwatchable. And as a test, I pulled up an episode from last year that was fine before BUT IT'S NOW SCREWED UP TOO!
Plus, it took way too long to download the episode called Uncle. It used to take about 5 minutes to download an episode. I have broadband and 1 GB of memory. It took 15 MINUTES just to get a crappy TV episode. God knows what it would take to get a movie. I'm not buying another thing until this is all straightened out. How could apple put such a piece of junk out there for your customers. This is a disgrace.
If anybody knows how to revert to an earlier version of itunes, please let me know. Thanks.
p.s. Please get that annoying video control thing out of the middle of my videos. I don't want to wait until it decides to go away.

Thank you for the suggestion, b noir. I appreciate the response. Here's what I did given the trouble shooting directions:
1)Disable Direct3D video acceleration in QuickTime -- I did this but it didn't fix the problems, so I re-enabled it again.
2)Disable DirectX in QuickTime -- I then did this. The problems persisted. I think disabling this may have even made things worse so I re-enabled it also.
3)Modify your System Drive Configuration -- I checked these and they are already set as recommended.
I have no problems with color, so that leaves drivers. Yikes. I don't want to screw up everything else on the computer. What kind of drivers are we talking about? I'm going to check the Dell website but I'm not exactly clear what I should be looking for.

How do I load a PHP without showing it at all?

Hi. I have just started working with flash a week ago, and I
stumbled into a problem I cannot find the answer to anywhere so
far.
I created a LoadVars, which I use to send data to a PHP that
updates a mysql database. This is what I am doing:
button.onRelease = function(){
myLoadVar.send("database.php", "newwin", "POST");
Since I am using "newwin", the database.php file opens in a
new blank window. However, I would like the php file to not be
shown to the user at all. I just need it to run the php file in the
background when the user clicks the button.
Is that possible?

Hello
I want to learn how to build databases and use dreamweaver to
build sites to for e-commerce shops or portfolio archives etc...
But at first glance im a bit overwhelmed. I am willing to put the
time and effort in but just need a little point in the right
direction.
What should i be looking at first? Working out mySQL or
learning .php? Ive seen a lot of talk about installing apache
servers and installing php5 but i know absolutely ZERO about this.
If you had to learn it all again where would you start?
Ive got a G5 ,DW8 and a web host that supports mySQL. I have
a bit of experience building websites and am just getting to grips
with CSS. Do i need anything else?

Whenever I'm writing php script with dreamweaver and start to type a php function (in this example strstr) the code hints for arguments pops up after typing the first parentheses to show what arguments are accepted (in this example haystack and needle). This is all well and good, sometimes it's helpful if I have forgotten and need a reminder but the problem is I have 4 monitors and the hint pops up on the left monitor when I am actually coding on the right monitor... It's an annoying flaw that I can't seem to find a fix to.
So to recap: I have 4 monitors from left to right.
I use dreamweaver on the RIGHT two monitors.
The function argument hinting while coding PHP appears on the furthest LEFT monitor (1st monitor)
It also leaves a bar across all monitors.
If there is a way to fix this bug please let me know

I keep getting a pop-up when I'm in Firefox that says "Opening admin-ajax.php". What's this all about? Is it an error? How do I stop it from happening?

I'm not sure why I'm getting this message at all. I've attached an image of the pop-up. Can anybody give me some help?

Macbook not booting (after i screwed it all up)

Hi guys!
I'm coming here for guidance because apparently I can't do things properly on my own. here's the story, I hope you'll get me out of there!
I recently tried to dualboot my macbook with an old version of Ubuntu: 10.04 Lucid Lynx. yes, I specifically wanted this version (and yes, it'll come down to bootcamp later on). So i installed rEFIt and my dual boot and everything semmed ok, at least on the boot side of things. I couldn't get Lucid Lynx to work properly with my macbook though, I had trouble with the keyboard and more importantly with the network devices. To solve that later problem, a google search showed that i needed a more recent verion of ubuntu, which I didn't want.
Considering this, and especially the fact that I didn't feel like fighting with the machine in command lines while having a badly configured keyboard, I finally decided to remove ubuntu and install a dualboot with win7 instead, from where I'd use a lucid lynx VM to do what i wanted to do.
Here's where it gets tricky...
In order to install win7, i neede first to have my HD back to a single partition. I used gparted from the live cd to do delete all existing non osx partitions, and then disk utility from OSX to expand the mac partition to the whole free space. Hurray to that, it worked just fine. but after that, i followed the bootcamp procedure, and then... it all went wrong. namely, i couldn't install windows because it said something like this: "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk of the GPT partition style". I tried cleaning the partition with windows's tool but it didn't work better... And after that, i couldn't boot on anthinganymore. "No bootable device" it says. there's stuff on my mac partition i'd like to have back, so if there is another solution than re-installing osX from scratch that's be great!
And if anyone knows how i could install that win7 without running in the same error once I get osX set up again, that'be greatly appreciated!

You won't see any apps in iCloud.com.
Actually, what you're describing is a feature that's been available prior to iOS5 launch, even though the cloud icon is used. You can download from the cloud previously purchased (from iTunes) apps and music to your iDevice. For music this doesn't cover anything you've added, but that will change (I believe) if you've signed up for Match.
For apps, go to the App Store on your device and select Updates. At the top of the Updates screen, you should have "Purchased" as selectable. This will give you an option to see ALL apps, as well as ones that are not on your device. If you pull down on the screen, it will reveal a search box, making it easier to find an app. Click on the cloud icon and enter your password to begin downloading.
Similar steps for music in the iTunes store. Instead of going to Updates, go directly to Purchased and you can download Music AND TV shows.

I have code on one of my website pages to list all the entries in a database (PHP). I can list all entries in other browsers but not Firefox.

In Firefox only so much data gets displayed. When a new entry is added one drops off the bottom. The information displayed gets cut off at any point in the data. It will sometimes display only part of the oldest entry. It's like only so many lines of data can be displayed.
I have viewed the same page on other browsers and don't have this issue.
I just updated Firefox to 19.0 but the problem continues.

This can happen if your script doesn't close all of the HTML tags it opens. Some past threads on pages not rendering fully (usually the missing text is there in the source view, Ctrl+u):

Software Update screwed it all up!

I have a powermac G3 machine, running a 500 MHZ G4 chip, 640 RAM, OS X 10.3.9.
I recently downloaded the newest Software Update (including the Airport update, around March 26). My machine, which has been working beautifully for years (probably because in the past I specifically haven't downloaded the updates for fear of what just happened), is now officially messed up.
The computer no longer recognizes any of the cards I have installed in the back, I.E. my wireless 8011 card is gone, as well as my USB 2 card; both used to work fine.
Why ever download updates if all they do is cause problems?? Any help would be appreciated. I don't believe there is a way to restore macs to a previous state, which would be the best thing to do.

Sad to say now, but that's why us "oldtimers" always recommend backing the system up before installing an update, especially a large one. In VersionTracker or MacUpdate you can find a variety of packages that can "clone" your system out onto another drive and, should things go wrong, you can clone it back. My personal favorite is SuperDuper.

I have screwed up all my side bar settings and I can not use tools because I meesed up the path way. I havent had the app long Can i just rest it all?

Not exactly sure what you mean, but you can try going to Window>Workspace and either clicking on Essentials (Default) or Reset Workspace,
Also, if you have photoshop cc 2014, you can right click on the big tool icon on the far left of the tool options
bar, click on Reset All Tools and that will reset the tools to the default values and also show the default tools.

Gtk2 2.10.1 SCREW UP ALL THEMES!!!

Update has screwed up all of my Apple Apps!

Hello all
I'm hoping that someone is going to be able to help me. I've just realised that the recent Mavericks has dumped a load of applications in my Applications folder as is usually the case but I like to keep things tidy and store all of my applications in other folders within the Applications folder, i.e: applications/adobe, applications/apple, applicaions/utilities, etc. Now when I usually move things across to their respectful new home I don't usually have a problem except this time none of my Apple Applications are working and all have generic icons.
Applications that the update has scewed up and I can no longer use : Safari, Mail, Quicktime, Calender, Contacts, Fontbook, Maps, AppStore, Facetime and TextEdit.
Is there any way I can get these applications back without having to do a clean install?
I have the original boot disks of Snow Leopard and a bootable drive with Mavericks on it, many thanks in advance!

Sort Applications folder by Application Category.
Under Arrange icon in the Menu bar select Application Category. There are no subfolders.
BTW have you discovered they hide the User's Library, scroll bars, path bar, status bar, Home folder.....You can turn all this back on in Finder Preferences, System Preferences and Show View Options.

So this week my phone started screwing up all my calls.

I can make and receive calls with no problems, no drops. I can hear whoever the call is to clearly no problems. What's wrong is that no one can hear anything i say. I've tried updating os, restoring, reseating SIM card. I know its not hardware because i have the same issue with earbuds(mic)/speakerphone, and other voice features still work just fine.
I'm further annoyed that all of apple's "support" options are phone calls. idk *** they want me to do.

So I know you said that "other voice features" work... I guess this means voice control and voice memos? Because if you can record a voice memo, and you can hear yourself, it's definitely not a hardware issue... I see you're on iOS 4.3 though... Perhaps you should try updating to the latest software?

IPhone 4S sync with iPhoto screwed up all purchased apps

Okay, this is just bizarre.
Last night I plugged my iPhone 4S into iPhoto for the first time, downloaded and deleted a pile of pictures I had just taken. Then I docked the phone for the night.
This morning I unlocked the screen to find all--and I mean ALL--of my purchased apps were gone from the desktop. The only remaining icons were from the standard installs that come with the iOS 5 package.
I plugged the phone into my Mac and opened iTunes. There I saw the two expected desktop pages, then a third grayed-out page, and finally a fourth and fifth page holding all the missing icons (folders had been lost, all were single icons now). I could not navigate to those 4th/5th pages on the phone at all, but I could (in iTunes) drag icons from those pages back up to the two the phone could display.
Very, very strange.
Rather than go through a laborious process of dragging and re-foldering my apps from the iTunes interface I did a restore from the last known good backup and all seems to be in order again.
Anyone seen something like this?

Alas, I was forced to get an IPhone 8 months ago because a client wanted to text me, and my flip phone wouldn't cut it. It has been a source of continual aggravation. All I want to do is text, make phone calls, and occasionally go on the Net. No music, no photos, no e-mail, no games, no crazy apps, etc. Simple. Well you'd think so.
Genius Bar requires a 25-mile trip, so I turn to the communities first.
