Php5 static class method access syntax error
Dreamweaver is complaining about this syntax
$class = 'ClassName';
$class::method(); // static method
Is there a way to omit these error warnings?
Thanks for pointing out the reference to the change in PHP syntax.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to turn off the syntax checking. You can turn off code hints, but that doesn't have any effect on the syntax checker.
I suggest that you file a bug report to Adobe using the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Include the reference to the syntax change with your report.

Static Classes/Methods vs Objects/Instance Classes/Methods?
Hi,
I am reading "Official ABAP Programming Guidelines" book. And I saw the rule:
Rule 5.3: Do Not Use Static Classes
Preferably use objects instead of static classes. If you don't want to have a multiple instantiation, you can use singletons.
I needed to create a global class and some methods under that. And there is no any object-oriented design idea exists. Instead of creating a function group/modules, I have decided to create a global class (even is a abstract class) and some static methods.So I directly use these static methods by using zcl_class=>method().
But the rule above says "Don't use static classes/methods, always use instance methods if even there is no object-oriented design".
The book listed several reasons, one for example
1-) Static classes are implicitly loaded first time they are used, and the corresponding static constructor -of available- is executed. They remain in the memory as long as the current internal session exists. Therefore, if you use static classes, you cannot actually control the time of initialization and have no option to release the memory.
So if I use a static class/method in a subroutine, it will be loaded into memory and it will stay in the memory till I close the program.
But if I use instance class/method, I can CREATE OBJECT lo_object TYPE REF TO zcl_class then use method lo_object->method(), then I can FREE lo_object to delete from the memory. Is my understanding correct?
Any idea? What do you prefer Static Class OR Object/Instance Class?

Method expression syntax error in jsp jsf 2.0 eclipse
hi i made a simple bean jsp project, n ussed el to call methods in backing bean n show some text on the basis of method called....
the project works perfectly fine, but theres a small issue, that eclipse jsp editor marks the expression as red n shows err.. the proj deploys fine on tomcat, n even works fine with expected results...
wat should i do to fix that err show by eclipse...

its a trivial issue i think but annoying,, tried to search alot cudnt fix it....
plz helpmy guess is that the project is not setup as being a JEE6 project and is being validated it as if it is a JEE5 application; the ability to be able to call methods with parameters through an EL expression is a new feature of JEE6 (or to be more precise: the el 2.2 API).
Perhaps you can specify in your project properties that this is in fact a JEE6 project? Eclipse Helios should support JSF 2.0 out of the box. -
Issue sourcing from Microsoft Access - Syntax error (missing operator)
I apologize if this has been discussed before. I used the search and went through 7 pages of results, but didn't see a similar issue.
I'm using Windows 7, ODI 11.1.1.5.
I'm trying to source from a local MS Access DB to an Oracle DB.
The session fails pretty much immediately (on step 3) - trying to pull data from the source table.
"Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression"
The source table is very simple and for this test I'm using no joins. Literally a 'select * from'.
However - when I look at the SQL generated - it's wrong. It's got duplicate lines in the SQL and not all columns selected have a comma after and before the next column.
If I run it direct on Access - I get the same error.
If I clean up the SQL - it'll run fine on Access.
I'm using the SQL to Oracle LKM.
I wondered if it was something with the ODBC driver - so I've tried other versions of ODBC drivers for MS Access, and even switched the database itself from the Office 2007 format, back to 2003, and tried a driver for that.
Same result.
If I go to the model and right click and look for the data in the table - it displays fine. So obviously ODI can connect and see the data...
So I guess my questions are:
- is the SQL to Oracle LKM the correct one to source from Access ? I've even gone into it and specified MS Access as the source. Same result.
- if it is the right one - what's going on ?? I've got to assume other people are pulling data from MS Access. Why the garbage SQL ? Clearly I'm missing something.
- and finally - worst case - but is there a way for me to overwrite the SQL being generated so I can correct it myself. This will be a PITA since I'll be source from a bunch of tables - but at least it might be a temporary stop gap...
thanksI'm going to mark this as closed for now. I solved the SQL issue. It was to do with the way the tables / fields were named and how the fields were being brought into the workflow. Tidying up there fixed the problem.
Getting past that brought me to several other issues which I'm still working through. The current is an Invalid Fetch size error - but that appears to have been resolved in patch Doc ID: 13528165 in ODI 11g (ver 11.1.1.5.0)
given the initial issue that I'd raised is no longer a concern - I'm closing.

Because the association between methods and data in an object is at the heart of object oriented programming. The method should be in the class it's in because it accesses the data fields of that class.
Certainly if a method doesn't need to access fields make it static, but if too much of your code is static then you're not desgning your program very well. -

I tried giving all the capabilities to the manager via admin role still same error. All the users are in the top level of the firm. The controlled organization rule (edit org) and user member rules (edit admin role) dictates the organization structure and members with then the org.

Syntax Error "Method was not declared or inherited in class"
Dear all,
I am seeing the following syntax error in one of the standard classes CL_ICCMP_BT_INRHISTRESULT_CN01 which says "Method "XYZ" was not declared or inherited in class". Need help to identify when this error would occur or where I should be checking for this error within the class.
I checked other systems for the same class, the method XYZ does not exist there too but still the class has no syntax errors!

Syntax error when creating input-ready query
Hi,
When creating an input-ready query, I set the key-figure to 'Data can be changed by user entries or Planning Functions' in the Planning Properties in the query designer.
When I execute the query, I get the following error:
Syntax Error in : CL_RSR_RRK0_KEYFIGURE
In se24, the class has a syntax error in its Constructor method.
The error is not occuring when I change the Planning property to 'Data Cannot be changed' or 'Data can be changed via Planning Functions'.
Has anyone encountered such an error. If yes, how to proceed further?
Anything do with the the ABAP Patches. Currently I am in Patch13.

I think, that I might remember, that there was once a piece of code (Function call or static class method) that allowed one to access the variants in a testdata container within ABAP.

- I couldn't find this forum here
3) I didn't think Access supported CASE statements outside of VBA.
- If there insn't, could be any other workable instead this one
4) I've never seen CASE/WHEN. Can you refer me to documentation that supports this syntax?
- I use case/when on MSSQL, I need one that works with Dreamweaver in the recorset creator. What can I use to know if:
Today is greater than PayDay in the tPayment table then It is must tell me that it is Out of Time (case when getdate() > PayDay then 'Out of Time')
If the PayDay in the tPayment table is greater than today then it must tell me that it is is On Time (Else'On Time' End).

Syntax error caused by duplicate methods in class.
We've applied service patches to CRM 7 and afterwards I found that there were two versions of a method in a class. There was the original (shown in blue) which should point to the superclass, but does not and point to the ZL.... class. Then there's the second copy of the method, shown in black, which is the Redefined method. But, I have never seen both in existance at the same time when view via se24 or the component workbench.
This is what I have tried:
Redefined the method (shown in blue). But then I have two methods of the same name (SET_COUNTRY) both shown in black. If I reverse the redefiniation it does successfully remove one of the redefintions, so I'm back to the state that started with, having the origianl superclass method and its redefiinition present.
This problem is in out QAS environment. I corrected this issue in DEV by deleting the Redefined method. However, the transport created fails when moved into QAS and gives a syntax error saying that duplicate methods exist, or is called twice. Which happens to be the problem that the transport should fix.
Can anyone suggest anything to try and fix this?.
As a last resort I opened our QAS envirnment for changes and within SE24 choose the option Utilities/Check.... But this did not resolved anything as all the sub-options said that everything was okay.
Desperate now, the ledge of this window is not very wide but it's starting to look appealing, even though the building is only one storey high.

My sanity is restored. No matter what I tried I could not get a transport through to correct this issue. In the end I had to open up QAS for changes and delete the redefined method from ZL... class by commenting out the call statement, and then answer yes to the question 'Do you want to delete the method?'. After this I re-activated all and the WebUI now works okay.
The trouble is I'll need to repeat this process in production after the upgrade.
When the problem was fixed in DEV a transport was created, but this just gave an error 8 when imported into QAS. The message given was exactly the problem that it was trying to fix.

Syntax Error in Test - Class Method
Hello all,
I've created a Class, and when I try to test one of the methods (from within SE24), I'm getting the following error: "Syntax error in test. Display generated test environment?" (When I say Yes, I'm taken to %_JJ_TESTFRAME_CLASS program)
The strange thing is that the code passed the sytax check, and has been activated. Additionally, there's no error logged in ST22.
Any ideas as to what might cause this?

If you can change the column name, I'd recommend you do that. Otherwise try changing your SQL code to this:
INSERT INTO TRANSLOG ( userid, booktitle, [date], amount ) VALUES (?,?,?,?)
But be warned that this [trick] doesn't work with other databases.
