Pic in catalog, but not in folder...

I am using LR 2.7, Windows 7 ...
I have recently established my comfort zone and workflow with LR, CS5 & Bridge. I am going back and pulling everything together with collections and keywords.
I have one folder that has 25 pictures in the folder, or so it tells me that, but when using LR, I select that folder it tells me there are no photos in selected folder. Now the pictures that are in this folder are there, LR even has the number of pics in folder to the side. To view these pics, I found them in the catalog list on the left side of screen. How did they get there? They can be viewed if I select "already in catalog" I have tried every process I can think of to get these pics linked back to their orginal folder, but nothing seems to do it.
If you know how to fix this I would be very happy to know the secret....

Field avaialble in field catalog but not when I try to create the condition

Hi,
I wanted to add a new table to a delivery output. I need the fields delivery type/ship point and destination country. I could see that destination country (LAND1) is not available in the field catalog. I added it from the list of available fields (in KOMKBV2) and can see it in the field catalog but not when I try to create the condition table. What else do I need to get this field ?

Also add your new field to structure KOMBZ
If you want to use a new field in the field catalog, you must add the field to KOMP or KOMK in the following INCLUDES:
- header data in INCLUDE KOMKAZ in KOMK
- item data in INCLUDE KOMPAZ in KOMP
When you use INCLUDES, the field is automatically added to KOMG and the field catalog.
The routines for assigning values to the new fields in order processing are found in member MV45AFZZ. Use the following user exits:
- USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK (header fields)
- USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP (item fields)

The downloads are probably .dmg files (disk images). You would open the disk image (double-click it) to find the application or an installer. If it's the application itself, you then drag the application to your Applications folder to "install" it. If it's an installer, double-click the installer to run the installer that installs the application.
NOTE: If you iMac is Intel, it's not a PPC G5.

"save optimized as" window in save for web shows desktop but not correct folder

In "where", it shows desktop, with the icon of a folder, and not the name of the folder the picture is in, as is usual, if I cick on the pop down menu,{of the where field) at the bottom i am showing recent places in gray, and then the name of a folder which is on the desktop, but not the one the picture is in. I want to keep the picture in the same folder.
I have been saving for web no problem recently. i quit PS and shut the computer, nothing

in the save as window I have no problem

There's another "drop down" in the save window. To the right of the file name (Save As: field), if you click that arrow, it will allow you to browse to ANY folder or location on the HD to save.

Script works in Script Debugger, but not a folder action - can u help?

mmh, well, it seems something is awry with the triggering. other folder action scripts seemed to work fine, but now are intermittent.

Share nested folder but not parent folder?

Is it possible to share a nested folder in Lion 10.7.3 but not it's parent folder for one user, but then share the parent folder and all child folders to other users?

I already have that clicked, but the problem is that there are some images that are floating around the parent, not in a sub. If one goes into exployer (but not thru LR) one can easily see which ones are not in the subs, as they show up beside the sub's. But that only works with the jpegs and not the DNGs, as they do not have a thumbnail. One could also add up the numbers of the subs (in LR) and subtract from the parent to find out how many are not in subs, but it still does not identify them.

Write but not delete folder

Basically I need a user to be able to write to a folder but not be allowed to delete the folder. Is this possible? Or is there a way to prevent users from deleting the trash without an administrator password?

First question/answer is determined by the rights of the folder enclosing that folder. I'd point you to where/who showed this awhile back here, but Search is down.
Say you have folder B inside Folder A, folder A's rights determine if folder B can be trashed or not, folder b determines who can r/w within folder B.

Text folder saved but not music folder on ae shared hard drive

Network is connected fine but when moving music folders to network shared drive files do not show up. Any help with this one is greatly appreciated.

If you don't have your original library files then you should be able to add the media folder into a new library using File > Add Folder to Library...

My presets were saved with the catalog, but not visible

Since upgrading to 1.3, my presets won't show in lightroom, even though they are still in their correct directories, and were saved with the catalog via the preferences setting. Is there anyway to "import" them or somehow make them usable again? I'm talking about metadata, develop and ftp presets.
Also exporting using the post-process option doesn't work if more than about 20 pictures are exported. Known bug?

I found the problem. I made a new metadata preset and then did a search to find where the file went to. There's a duplicate set of preset directories under the lrcatalog directory, and that's where the file went to. I copied the old files to those directories, and everything is fine now. I noticed that some things were in both sets of directories, but others weren't. Now if the post-process would actually work right...

Install Oracle 10.2 but not dbs folder

I just installed the Oracle 10g release 2 and when I finished and try to run dbca, there is no dbs and many other folders in the home directory "ora01/product/10.2.0/db_1"
Any idea what the cause?

How do i get a second catalog transfered from elements 10 to my elements 12 the first one came down with the download

Can sync Entourage Addresss, but not Sent Folder

Hi,
I used to have perfect sync between my Blackberry 8310 Curve and Entourage (11.4.0). I just upgraded to the new PocketMac software (4.1.25) and it doesn't seem to work anymore. I can still sync my address book, but it completely ignores my "Sent Mail" sync. I've already verified that my "Wireless Reconcile" is Off on my Blackberry, and I'm out of options. Any help? Please!

I have the same issue....it only affects my me.com email account that I setup to utilize iCloud. I can receive email OK but get an error when sending,,,,,"The connection to the outgoing server p07-smtp.mail.me.com failed."
I go to settings to check the smtp settings and it won't let me change them.
Any thoughts?

Can not copie folder to external harddrive

Hello guys,
I have a problem, for some reason i can not copie an folder to my external harddrive. I can copie for example an musik file from the folder to my harddrive but not the folder itself. I checked if i have read/write permissions on both of them and i have the permissions. For some reason i get an message that i do not have the right access permissions or read permissions to copie my folder even as i am loged in as admin.
I hope someone can help me, thanks in advance.

Well I just had this same problem and figured out the solution. Looks like the ownership of my .Trash folder was changed somehow.
Open Terminal.app and type the following
ls -la
This should show you a list of your home directory. At the top you should see something like the following
drwx------ 2 (short username) staff 68 21 Aug 22:26 .Trash
where short username is your username.
If it is something different like admin or root or something else type the following
sudo chown -R (your usernam) .Trash
insert your short username without the brackets where it shows (your username)
that should do the trick.

Not sure I understand the question but it could be because you meant to say "can't" somewhere in the sentence. anyway, just guessing here:
Try going to:
File >> Watch folders
Now you can Add new folders here that you see them in Windows. The word ADD is a button to browse for the folders and hopefully this will solve the problem you are having.

Folders Show up in Catalog, but unable to view photos in folders after a certain folder

System: Windows 7, 32Bit, Core2Duo w/ 2GB Ram, LightRoom 5.5 hooked up to a Nikon D5200 for Tethered capture & review only. Currently we have 1727 folders and 5530 pictures in the Catalog.
We use this system to take product images for a website and the images are stored on a mapped drive file server.   Today when trying to review some of the more recent pictures it would not select the folder/open the photos (but you could see the first picture in the folder in the preview window).   I was running LR 5.3 so I upgraded to 5.5 to see if that would fix the problem but it did not.   I am able to see the pictures if I click on the root folder and it works as expected.
Older folders/pictures work they way they should, but everything taken after Monday did not work. (Monday happens to also be the last day a backup of the catalog was done).   When I revert to Monday's backup all of the folders/images work. When I try to import the missing folders/pictures into the Monday backup , I have the same issue at the same point. I have tried creating a new catalog from scratch and have the same problem, however the "break-point" (where I can no longer see inside the folders) changed to a slightly earlier [in the series] folder.
I can browse the mapped network drive and see all of the folders/pictures without problem. I have also tried Synchronizing the folders and optimizing the catalog but neither had any effect.
Have I hit some sort of folder limit? I read there was no "hard" limit file/folder limit per catalog, but with the way it is acting, it is almost like I found a hidden folder limit.

I can see all of the folders in the folder list, just can not click on the last 30-40 so maybe 1700 is limit
The folders are setup as: (each folder has 1-4 pictures inside)
p:/parts_pictures
p:/parts_pictures/part1/
p:/parts_pictures/part2/
p:/parts_pictures/part1727/
In LightRoom it shows up as
->p:/parts_pictures
     - part1
     - part2
     - part3
     - part1727
(note: I am using the part1, part2, part3 as an example.. the actual folder names are our internal 6 digit ID)
