Picture in PDF

Hello All,
     I have an issue while converting bytearray to String.
The problem primarily is, I have a PDF which contains a picute embedded in that.
I need to read this PDF and has to conver it into String.
When converting to String I'm facing some issues with data getting corrupted. When I write the data back,
the PDF will be invalid and will open without the picture message.
The code I need to get working is
FileInputStream fin= new FileInputStream("Input.pdf"):
byte[] bin = new byte[fin.available()];
String sin = new String (bin,"UTF-8");// I guess this is creating the problem , I tried almost all the supported encoding, but did no good :-(
FileOutputStream fout = new FileOutputStream("Output.pdf");
fout.write(sin.getBytes());
fout.close;
fin.close;
Any help will be hihgly appresiated as this is a critical problem for me.
TIA,
Kannan

I missed the explanation of why you had to change those bytes to a string. Just don't do that and you won't corrupt your PDF.

  • Converting pictures into PDF files

    How do I convert pictures into PDF files, is this possible?

    If you want to use acrobat reader, you have to pay for it.
    So, I use other free or cheap apps to do so =>
    * powerpdf
    * dragonprinter (draakprinter in dutch)
    * writepdf
    * scanapp (to convert parts of a picture)
    I even think that almost every scan-app can convert pictures into pdf's.

    Hello,
    I can recommend you go through the tutorial called How Tou2026 Integrate ADOBE form on WebdynPro for ABAP and Deploy it on portal by Bhawanidutt Dabral. Ignore the fact it uses WD, I have tried the proposed solution how to load in the picture on a simple offline/ print form. Look around for this tutorial.
    It propose to use the FM as follows:
    CALL METHOD cl_ssf_xsf_utilities=>get_bds_graphic_as_bmp
        EXPORTING
          p_object       = c_graphics
          p_name         = lv_pernr1
          p_id           = c_bmap
          p_btype        = c_bcol
        RECEIVING
          p_bmp          = ls_z_if_test_cv-im_photo
        EXCEPTIONS
          not_found      = 1
          internal_error = 2
          OTHERS         = 3.
    It passes the picture as XSTRING into the form and there you bind this data stream to a Image Field (not an Image!!! check this twice). Don´t forget to check the checbox to include picture data into the form file.
    Hope this helps, Otto

    How do I copy a picture in PDF Format into Picasa

    You can take a snapshot of the picture, which will put it on the clipboard, but I do not know how you will get it into Picassa without another program that can save in a graphics format. What OS are you using? Perhaps it offers a basic graphics program.

    The organizer recognized you HD by its letter drive (Windows) AND its internal serial number. (Similar behaviour in Macs). So, the organizer does not find your pictures even if the path and drive letter are the same.
    To avoid this problem, see this faq:
    Use Backup, Restore to move catalog | Organizer | Elements 6 or later
    Now, you can try to reconnect the files:
    Photoshop Elements (PSE) knowledge base.
    Is your old drive still available?

  • Pictures in PDF Forms (Adobe Acrobat Pro 9)

    Hello everyone,
    I have a situation where I need two drop downs determine which picture to display.  I have been reading on this topic and see that the best solution (that I have come across) would be to make a button into a picture and toggle the visibility with some if statements allowing only the picture I want to be visible given the condition of the two drop downs.  This is simple enough.  However, I don't know how to turn a button into a picture!  Is it that my Acrobat Pro is too old (9)?  Please help, I need to have this ironed out in the next couple days and have no problem buying a newer version if I need to.  Please be very specific, I am an electrical engineer creating an ad hoc solution; so my coding is not as top notch as most people's here, whom I assume are mostly computer developers of some sort.  Best,
    -Steve

    On the Options tab of the button properties dialog, set the Layout to something other than "Label only" (e.g., Icon only). You can then clock the "Choose Icon" button to select a source for the button appearance. It can be a page from an existing PDF or anything else Acrobat knows how to convert to PDF, such as an image.

  • Acrobat 8 standard  - Removing pictures from PDF files

    I hope this is an easy one to answer but I'm having troubles removing pictures from a PDF file and I need some help, can anyone answer please?

    If standard has the Object touchup tool, you can select them and then delete them. I suspect that this may have the same problem as the redact tool as mentioned by graffiti.

  • Picture in PDF broken in Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows

    Hi,
    I always thought that Adobe's PDF-format is the ultimative, interchangeable file format. Well, what a surprise: it isn't:
    I have a picture in a PDF document.
    It is displayed fine on my Mac in Preview and in Adobe Acrobat 8.
    The picture has severe distortions on Windows (eg. current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader).
    You can find this PDF here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/285107/Picture.pdf
    Please let me know how I can fix this?
    Furthermore I would love to know why even Adobe cannot manage to display the PDF correctly under Windows?
    Thanks
    Daniel

    Ok, just to summarize the status of my PDF:
    Doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Win XP)
    Doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat Reader X (Win XP)
    Works just fine in Evince (Win XP)
    Works in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro (Mac)
    Works in Preview (Mac)
    Works in Skim (Mac)
    So most of the rederers tested display it correctly. For me that looks like a huge inconsitency in the Adobe Acrobat product family. It is not platform specific, because it does work in Windows as well (using other renderers).
    I have two issues with that:
    How come that Adobe Acrobat seems to be the only renderer with issues with this file?
    Why do some version of Adobe Acrobat display it, while others don't?
    To me that really sucks since I trusted the portability of PDF and my own Pro version of AA on my Mac far too much!
    My lessons learnt here: Do not use Adobe products since they cannot be used consistently accross platforms (see Flash for another example).
    Since the support policy of Adobe does only offer this forum free-of-charge even for obviously valid bugs, I decline to report this (again) as a bug due to my own time constraints.

  • Word Document with Pictures to PDF

    When I try to make a pdf from a Word document that contains pictures, the pictures show up in Acrobat in sections -- not as one piece. I've tried printing to Distiller and printing to PDF. What is causing this?

    Sorry. Here's more specifics -- I'm using Acrobat 6, Distiller 6, WinXP, Word 2003. Since the Word files are customer-provided, I don't know what kind of files the graphics are. By sections, I mean that the graphic is in stripes. For instance, a picture that measures 3.79x5.13 in Word becomes 7 pictures each measuring 3.79x0.75 when viewed in Acrobat after printing to Adobe PDF. So tell me, why does this happen?

  • Issue with creationof picture in PDF Photo Book

    I have created a photo book. The preview of a particular photo looks good. I have generated the book in pdf format to review, however, one specific picture show an issue in the picture it's self. I deleted the file and regenerated. Again contaminated pixels in the same picture in the same area. I have regenerated the preview and it still looks good. I have exported the picture to jpeg (50% size) and no issues.
    What could be wrong? The contaminated pixels only appear in the photo book, not in the preview or exported jpeg.
    Thanks

    Any resolution to this problem? I have the same issue. I had this problem in 1.5.6. Then I upgraded to 2.0 today and still have the same problem. Macbook Pro 2.2 15"

  • How to copy and paste a table and pictures from pdf files to word using MacBook pro 10.5.8

    Hi Guys,
    I want to copy tables out of a PDF document onto a word document. I only get the text and not the table when I copy and paste. I would also like to know how I can do the same with pictures or diagrams in PDF to word.
    Regards,
    Craig

    You can take picture of anyhting from any document using Command + Shift + 4. Hold all three at the same time and your mouse will turn into a little plus sign where you can then drag across anything you'd like to take picture of it. The picture will be placed on your desktop.
    See if that works for you.

  • Photo Book - issue with generating full size picture in PDF file

    Need some assistance here.
    I have created a photo book that I would like to order. In the middle of the book I have 2 pages that contain a full size picture on each of the pages. When I generate the PDF file one of these two pictures do not generate correctly leaving an incorrectly rendered rectangle in the bottom left hand corner. 80% of the time it is on of the 2 large 8x10 pictures, the other 20% it is the other 8x10 picture. Aperture does indicate the dpi is large enough to support a quality 8x10 photo.
    I have exported jpeg files for each of these pictures and there were no problems. I am not sure by I have this problem in creating the PDF. Does any one see a potential issue with the book? When I order the photo book is it done through he PDF file or are the pictures sent in?
    Because of the issue I am cautious to order the Photo Book, but would like to do so.
    Any thought or feedback? Is this something that will come through as problem with the photo book as well?
    Thanks

    Hi ejg999,
    I have a similar problem running 10.5.2/ Aperture 2.0 trial.
    My 15800*4700 pixel (19.8mb) panorama was completely screwed up when printing the book to PDF. I did not span the pict over 2 pages as the center part would not be visible in the book's fold. I created 2 full size pages, resized the frames and adjusted their position.
    The print just shows hundreds of small squares, some seem ok, some are blue, some are rendered partially. Totally unusable.
    The physical memory was not the problem as I had at least 500mb free during the printing operation.
    I printed the book twice: same problem. I thought shutting down Aperture would resolve the error. but all my pics were gone. And the Time Machine did not backup while Aperture was running (still a bug). Aaaaaarghhhh.
    I managed to restore my work. I will try to create a smaller copy of the panorama and try to print.
    BTW, what is the size of your photo creating the problems?
    regards
    FranzMacN

  • I'm trying to remove the background from pictures and PDFs.

    Hello All, this is the 3rd or 20th time I've tried removing backgrounds. I install water equipment for a living and try to manage my website on my own. Each time my products change, my suppliers send me literature in PDF format. Sometimes I'm installing the equipment before I have the literature. I take pictures of every install I perform and would love to use my pictures without the dirty basement in the background.
    I've spent hours trying to work with just one picture. All that fine detail, erasing, and zooming in and out, then click! I lose it, or can't save it, or it just doesn't work. I've watched tutorials, and watched it done right in front of me (on a PC) at my print shop. I thought I'd ask this community, because I've had 100% luck on here everytime.
    So, can I use the same software to remove images from PDFs and backgrounds from pictures? Which do you recommend? I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe ImageReady CS2. I also have Gimp that I downloaded for Mac. Since I've never been successful with any of them, I'm not sure which one is wasting my time.
    Thank You,
    Steve

    Extracting images and removing backgrounds can be very complicated. There are many different techniques and methods for doing it: the trick is finding the right one for the image you're working on. Every image is different and what may work for one may not work for another. You can do all of the basic techniques in Photoshop CS2, though it's a little easier in newer versions. I'd recommend going through as many online tutorials on image extraction as you can tolerate. There are hundreds of them. (While I find him annoying to listen to, Russell Brown has made some excellent tutorials on the subject. Try this one to start.
    While it is possible to edit an image embedded in a PDF, you really need Acrobat Pro  to do it. Acrobat sends the image to Photoshop, where it can be edited, and then Photoshop sends it back to Acrobat after you're done. Or you can save it as a separate file. In the 20+ years I've used Adobe's stuff, I've never done that. It's usually much easier to do a screen capture of the image and then work on that copy. (There are some sizing and magnification issues involved with this, however.)
    In Photoshop, pay particular attention to Quick Mask mode, learn how masking works, how to make a selection based on a color range, how to use the Pen Tool to make a path that can be used as a selection, and how to save and load selections. Getting a clean extraction takes a lot of practice and it's almost never quick or easy, but it's worth the effort to learn how to do it well.
