Pie chart control action

Hi
I am using  SSRS 2008 R2.
Is it possible to control the rotation of the fields in the 2-D pie chart clockwise/anticlockwise?
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Are you referring to the order in which the pie pieces are displayed or the degree on which the first piece appears?
You can use sorting on the pie, this is located in the category group properties.
To change the position of the first piece you can use the
PieStartAngle property.

  • Pie chart in combintion with a Slider control in Dashboards 4.0

    Hi,
    Following the my requirement for creating a dashboard.
    1) i have to display employee count for different regions in a pie char for a particular month.
    2) This month needs to be selected from a slider control(Horizontal).
    3) The slider control needs to show Month and year (MON-YYYY format) for the last 13 months.6 months above the slider and 7 months below the slider.
    4) So when a user selects a particular month by dragging to the particular month in slider, then the pie chart should display employee count for the selected month.
    5) And Also the slider control by default should show last month employee count in pie chart when the dashboard is opened every time.
    So Any body knows how to implement this requirement please send me the solution in a step by step approch.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Nanda Kishore.

    Hi,
    Set up your data like this
    For the months we just use 0 for the selected month and we mark our min & max.
    (I just took a few months, just as test, in real, you have to have all your months, off course)
    Link the slider component, data to B2, min to B3 and max to B7
    Create combobox, link labels to cell B3:B7
    setup of data insertion, see screenshot below. (destination: j4:J7)
    for behaviour column do as follows...
    Your pie chart component
    results in
    now you have to put some makup on your dashboard, (hide the combobox - hide the values -6,0and 7), create some textcomponents to show the correct months (create a key row (-6 >0>7) and a month-text row), you can use vlookup or via a combobox to fetch the correct month-text
    Have fun with it

  • Action on category of splitt pie chart-- business graphics

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement for creating an action on click of a category of splitt pie chart type which will change the other catagory data corresponding to that portion of chart. Is this functionality possible or not. If yes plz guide me the steps.

    Hi Shishir,
    Bad news for you... I think the only way to do it is by creating and adding the chart dynamically in the code.

  • Reporting Services in 2005 Secondary Pie Chart?

       Hi,
             In 2008 and 20012, secondary pie charts with a percentage threshold from a main pie chart can be easily created. Is it possible to do in 2005?
    *CustomAttributes
    Thanks.

    Hi Robb,
    It seems that you are using Dundas Chart Control for SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services not the Dundas Chart Control 2005 that Microsoft has purchased.
    Microsoft purchased the license to use Dundas Chart Control 2005 in Reporting Services 2008 and above. Therefore the supported upgrade is from Reporting Services 2005 Dundas Charts to SSRS 2008 (R2) and SSRS 2012 Charts.
    If you are using a particular component released by Dundas for SSRS 2008 R2, you won’t be able to upgrade Reporting Services 2008 R2 Reports with Dundas Charts to Reporting Services 2012 Charts.
    To confirm this, please check the details of this assembly “DundasRSChart.dll” located under the /Report Server/bin directory.
    If the Product Name is “Dundas Chart for Reporting Services 2008 R2”, it indicates that this is a new version of Dundas Chart for SSRS 2008 R2 (i.e. a third party control). If the Product Name is “Microsoft SQL Server”, it indicates that this is the version
    that Microsoft has purchased.
    In this condition, you have to migrate the DundasRSChart.dll to the SSRS 2012 instance and reference it as the custom assembly in the reports. Please make sure to rename the DLL file so that it won’t replace the native DundasRSChart.dll installed by SQL
    Server 2012.
    For more information about referencing custom assembly in a report, please see:

  • Mouse Over Value in Pie Chart

    I have two questions -
    1. How do i restrict the no. of decimals in the Mouse Over values for Percentage in a Pie Chart ? The numeric values i can control but the percentage (which the system calculates) seems to be set at default two decimal places.
    2. While displaying the labels even though i am using the ouside end, inside end etc options - i can't seem to control the overlapping of a few labels. Offsetting is something that i need to do by hit and trial. too slow. and not all need to be offsetted. Can i selectively offset for a data point ?
    Please help....Cheers...

    Hi:
       For question1, do you mean the "Data Label->Percentage" right? I think the "Mouse-Over Values" could be set decimal places easily from  "Appearance->Text->Mouse-Over Values", but for "Data Label->Percentage" there is no direct way to show its decimal places. You can use "Label" component to build your percentage you like manually.
      For question2, if all position setting could not fit your need, you can also use label component to build your custom Data Labels.

  • Pie Charts causing Design mode to give warning and not preview the app

    I am using the final release. I have pie charts in my app. I
    also have column charts. Both are fed data the same way. Both work
    as expected when i build the app, and there are zero errors in the
    app. however, i was experiencing an issue in flexbuilder where in
    design mode, a vague warning was issued and the preview could not
    be displayed (blank except for very gernal 'outlines' of the layout
    and controls)
    I narrowed the problem down to the pie charts. Is anybody
    experiencing this problem? The application worked as expected, and
    previewed as expected in Design mode when previewd/built in Beta
    3.

    Hi masavran,
    For this issue, it's related to the render environment (browser/application). On Reporting Services side, we don't have any properties to change the resolution for chart to make it smoothly. We suggest you post this thread on Visual Studio forum
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=visualstudiogeneral&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
    Or the forum of corresponding browser.

  • Pie Chart with Legend

    Hey Experts,
    I have a small issue but cannot seem to find the solution. I have a pie chart with legends which I want to show side by side (horizontally). First pie chart and then legends. My requirement is that when the window is resized, the pie chart should also resize. I am able to show the chart and legends horizontally but when the legends list is long, the pie chart is always aligned in the center vertically. I tried setting all properties such as verticalAlign = "top", verticalCenter = "false", tried putting pie chart and legends in a separate VBox but nothing seems to work. Below is the code snippet.
    I believe others would have faced this problem. Can someone help?
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:PieChart id="pieChart" width="100%" height="100%" showDataTips="true" minWidth="200" minHeight="200" verticalCenter="false"/>
         </mx:VBox>
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:Legend width="100%" height="100%" dataProvider="{pieChart}"/>
         </mx:VBox>
    </mx:HBox>

    Hi Dajji,
    Here is the code which resolves the problem...
    Note: In the code below I have removed the percentage width and height for PieChart.....that resolves the problem.....but the thing here is as you resize
    your browser window the piechart width and height will not change accordingly...? Do you need PieChart to change its dimensions as your browser window
    resizes...???
    However if you specify width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart you never gonna acheive the PieChart to be vertically alined to top.....why because
    as you specified width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart it occupies the total dimensions of the VBox but the actual visible portion dimensions are
    less... because within the VBox you also have the legends so Flex will assign the sizes proportionately....for PieChart and Legends..
    Hope you got my point...So you should remove the width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart then you can acheive what you needed...

  • Pie Chart and legend symbols

    Hi forum,
    who can help me to customize legend symbols in pie chart?
    Thanks in advanced

    Look at the last lines in caspian.css
    .pie-legend-symbol.chart-pie {
        -fx-background-radius: 8px;
        -fx-padding: 8px;
        -fx-border-color: null;
    }You can provide your own css for pie-legend-symbol.chart-pie to style the symbol how you like.
    If you need more control, do a css lookup after the chart has been shown on the stage:
    Set<Node> items = chart.lookupAll("Label.chart-legend-item");
    int i = 0;
    // these colors came from caspian.css .default-color0..4.chart-pie
    Color[] colors = { Color.web("#f9d900"), Color.web("#a9e200"), Color.web("#22bad9"), Color.web("#0181e2"), Color.web("#2f357f") };
    for (Node item : items) {
      Label label = (Label) item;
      final Rectangle rectangle = new Rectangle(10, 10, colors);
    final Glow niceEffect = new Glow();
    niceEffect.setInput(new Reflection());
    rectangle.setEffect(niceEffect);
    label.setGraphic(rectangle);
    i++;

  • Labels in Pie Charts

    Hi,
    I have two questions about the behavior of labels in pie charts:
    Question 1:
    When I format pie chart labels as 'NameandValue', the result in the label pie chart always appears as 'Value' and then 'Name', how can I change this?
    Question 2:
    I have several pie charts, that overlap labels, how can I customize charts in order for that never to occur?

    In order to achieve that you will need to change the pcxml files controlling the pie chart (since the chart is actually produced by the Corda engine)
    They are in
    \\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin
    and for oc4j in:
    \\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\popbin
    I don't have all the variables available off the top of my head, but John posted a quite exhaustive list:

  • Pdf generated through API's does not display pie chart

    I'm using BIP 10.1.3.4, running on Oracle Linux 5 connecting to a 11g database.
    I developed an RTF using the word template builder and included a pie chart. Previewing from within Word works fine, running the report directly from BIP works fine. I then used the API's to generate the pdf programmatically to have more control.
    I use RTFProcessor to convert my RTF into a XSL, DataProcessor to generate the xml data and FOProcessor to generate the final PDF. This works fine running from local JDeveloper, connecting through to the remote database.
    I've now loaded the java class with the API's into the database, and as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12188/T421739T517850.htm#T520954, loaded up the following jar's
    xdocore.jar - the core BI Publisher library
    aolj.jar - although this is an Oracle E-Business Suite library, it is required for standalone implementations as well
    i18nAPI_v3.jar - the i18n library used for localization functions
    xdoparser.jar - the scalable XML parser and XSLT 2.0 engine
    xmlparserv2-904.jar - the main XML parser/XSLT engine
    bipres.jar - a charting library
    bicmn.jar - a charting library
    jewt4.jar - a charting support library
    share.jar - a charting support library
    collections.jar - you only need this if you are working with the delivery APIs or bursting engine.
    The report works fine, all data tabels are shown but the pie chart is missing. I originally got the jar files from the TemplateBuilder/jlib directory. I also tried using the jar files from the BIP/xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib directory as well. Problem remains - everything works fine except for the lack of the pie chart !
    Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
    Cheers,
    Brent

  • Navigation to a page from Pie Chart (or DVT component) on mouse click

    ADF Mobile: I have a pie chart on page_1. How to open a new page (page_2) when a slice of the pie chart is clicked in ADF Mobile?

    Thank you Mr. Frank for your reply.
    I am using JDev11gR2 (Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.3.0 Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.3.0_GENERIC_120914.0223.6276.1) to create a Mobile Application (ADF).
    Here, i dont have "Action" property for any DVT Components.
    But if we are creating a web application, "ClickAction" property is available for DVT components which can be used to perform some action.
    Kindly request you to share further inputs.

  • Don't understand pie chart color manipulation

    Hi,
    I've tried changing the colors of my pie chart in the CSS file, but I can't seem to figure out what to change. I don't think I understand how it works.
    The line I tried to modify is:
    #dial{stroke:#336699;stroke-width:2px;fill:#336699;fill-opacity:.5;}
    Is this the right line?
    Thanks,
    Nora

    Hello,
    No that line controls the part of the dial chart.
    take a look at this example http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:32
    What your going to want to mess with will look like this
    #data1 ,rect.data1 ,path.data1{fill:#336699;}
    #data2 ,rect.data2 ,path.data2{fill:#FF0000;}
    #data3 ,rect.data3 ,path.data3{fill:#00FF00;}
    #data4 ,rect.data4 ,path.data4{fill:#0000FF;}
    #data5 ,rect.data5 ,path.data5{fill:#DDDDDD;}
    #data6 ,rect.data6 ,path.data6{fill:#FFFF00;}

  • Dynamic pie chart

    Hi,
    I would to create a chart that looks like a pie chart, in the form of a clock.  I am struggling to come up with a good way to do this.
    The clock represents 24 hours.
    Each element (slice of the pie) within the chart represents a scheduled event, for example:
                7a-8a   Morning show
                8a-9a   Break
                9a-10a  Morning show
                10a-11a Break
                11a-12n  Morning show
                12n-1P  Break
                1p-2p    Afternoon show
                2p-3p    Break
                3p-4p    Afternoon show
                4p-5p    Break
                5p-6p    Afternoon show
                6p-7p    Break
                7p-8p    Evening show
                etc.... to fill 24 hours
    If there were 24 elements within the day, there would be 24 pie slices, regardless if there were duplicate elements.
    I would want to color code the same events within the day.
    All the Morning Show pieces of the pie would be one color, all the Afternoon Show pieces would be another
    Color;  all the Break events would be another color.
    To complicate matters, the number of slices will vary.  One client might have slices be as small as 30 seconds, another an hour.
    My plan was to build the chart dynamically..have each pie slice be uniquely named ("break7"), and its value be a % of the total.  Set the color based on a part of the name ("break"), setting the value for that color as >= to 0.  I have yet to figure out how to do tags for each pie slice.
    my questions are
    1) can I get into the chart from vs2008, cr2008 sp2, and vb.net and set these values?
    2) any thoughts/suggestions on a better way to create this chart?

    This will not be a trivial undertaking and to be honest, I am not sure if it is possible.
    1) The place to start is with the designer. Can you actually create such a report there? If not, you will not be able to do so at runtime either. If you need help creating such a chart, post your query to the [Crystal Reports Design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum. Also, once the chart is created in the designer, it will probably be much easier to modify it on the fly as opposed to creating it from scratch in code.
    2) You will not be able to use the CR SDK for .NET as the APIs that control the charts are limited. See KBase [1425910  - What are the limitations of modifying a chart in a Visual Studio .NET application?|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] for more details.
    3) You will have to use the RAS InProc SDK for .NET. Links that will help you get started with RAS:
